House amazingly decorated Owners warmly welcoming, they really love their place and the city
No Breakfast or tea/coffee on self service available
We stayed at the Casa Horno del Oro in Granada for two days in early September We booked the hotel for its location, as one of the entrances to the Alhambra Palace is close by. The hotel itself is fairly basic although very pretty, but its crowning glory is its rooftop terrace which looks directly over to Alhambra Palace, which is especially wonderful at night when the Palace is lit up. A fine place to take up a bottle of wine and chill out We had the downstairs room which was small but adequate, but OK for a couple of nights. They have larger rooms but they were above our budget The owners were delightful and could not do enough for us, and as well as being near the Palace, just a few steps away were restaurants and bars to relax in and enjoy yourselves. We really enjoyed our stay
Room was a bit small
The view is great, but you need to go up 2 floors to get it (and it is not covered, so too hot during the day). Furnishings and art are stunning. Piano an added bonus.
Directions were very difficult to follow, and phoning was not helpful. There were lots of emails, but no real attention. It is on a side street. With heavy suitcases or for an elderly person it would be impossible. There is a kitchen and the house is gorgeous, but no indication about what was off limits. It needs a good manual and someone to
Historic property, excellent terraces, comfortable beds if a little over made (lots of blankets), management is wonderful and personable and I got by with my very little Spanish.
Just for people who may not like it, you’re in a very old building so there is not central air. The marble tiles definitely cool things off but it gets a touch humid in the evenings.
Beautiful house and location. Atmospheric. Just like being at home. Stunning views. Don’t expect a hotel, more a home. So no room service, or really any staff at all, but as is by magic rooms cleaned and beds made. No breakfast, but lovely cafe down the road. Fridge in kitchen with water, beer etc. Perfect.
