Very pleasant surroundings - quiet Evening menu difficult to obtain - no prices indicated - made it difficult to decide whether to dine in restaurant or settle for bar food
Excellent facilities lovely location only negative below Double bed was quite narrow - probably a standard double but people are generally used to wider
Clean Bed wasnt a double , was only slightly larger than a single and I nearly fell out in the night and hurt my leg.only one pillow , heating that you couldnt control, therefore I was cold in the evening, but too hot in the night as it had obviously been set to go on then .. the windows wouldnt close at all , luckily we were on the second floor ! only one cup and spoon set out for tea and cofee making in the room . only had big long tables in the dining room , so therefore you had to sit next to complete strangers at breakfast . didnt like this at all ! was like being at school .. also the tables were too close together so it was very difficult to squeeze into your seat , holding your plate and hot coffee at the same time . also the place had absoulutely no signs to tell you where the dining room was .. we wandered around for ages til another guest told us where it was. dont know what its like at the weekend, but during the week it only seems to be a place for businessmen . all wondering around with their laptops and constantly on their phones .not a place for normal families at all .
A beautiful setting, excellent room and tasty breakfast None
Beautiful site. Small room, robotic receptionist, few amenities (E.G., no ice)
good value ang luxury facilities nothing
Lovely location and very comfortable accomodation with helpful and v friendly staff
Unfortunetly there were 2 weddings on over the which made breakfast on the first morning difficult as we had to go over to the other part of the hotel to eat and the second morning there were lots of children around which made breakfast loud and uncomfortable. Apart from that a great stay.
Lovely location and grounds My room was like being in a sweat box. Far too hot to sleep and on this experience I would not go there again. Staff comment was 'yes it is hot here' - brilliant!
The room was very clean and modern, the bathroom was the best thing though, bath was lovely with a lovely big mirror and nice soaps/shower gels to use. The room was quite cold when we got in.
Meeting up with my friends. I had to move rooms as so many things were wrong with the first room I was out in - not TV remote, the phone next to the bed didn't work and worst of all the toilet didn't flush properly. However, the hotel did try to fix things but were unable to and offered me another room without any fuss.
Swimming pool complex
Location, buildings, quality Breakfast staff were not good, had to be asked for coffee, then again for milk and then again reminded for sugar for example!
Latimer Mews was very modern and pleasant. The room was very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. Also being able to use the gym and pool facilities was a bonus. We had a reall good rate for our 1 night stay. The bar and lounges looked in need of redecoration/renovation. Some of the other residents attending courses who also had rooms in the Latimer Mews were rather noisy during the night.
Room, facilities very good I found the food very dissappointing (Pizza) Wake up call didn't happen
My room was clean and quiet Ther was a "dumped" empty minibar stuck in the corner of my room
We thought that the staff were outstanding being both helpful and polite.. The bedroom was a bit chilly and the towel rail temperlmental.
The staff and the food were superb.
access from main road
Conveniently located, easily visible approach to hotel for road users. Reception staff polite and courteous, bedroom reasonably well presented, I would have said excellently presented, but the cleaning staff let the side down slightly! No problem with the bathroom though. Very comfortable bed, which provided a good nights sleep, the room was spacious, as was the en-suite area, All in all very good value.
Staff very polite and proffessional. Room spotlessly clean and comfortable and great value for money. did not see a lift.
clean, spacious, friendly staff, good facilities and easy access to&from motorway
The lovely designed clean bathroom and the fact it was warm, with plenty of accessories. Only one comfortable chair to sit in when there was two people and one had to sit on hard chair or bed. Not enough milk portions left in room for a drink upon arrival and a morning drink before breakfast. Felt that the sandwich snacks were a bit expensive.
bed was too hard and no smoking room was next to bar so smoke in room
Easy to us facilities/available at point of contact, staff very helpfull infact your best asset The beds seemed a little dated, standard of evening meal not fantastic seemed to be prepared well in advance
All very good None
Nice quiet location Shower head needed a good clean/descale to get it working correctly.
I came across the Chartridge when I visited for an educational conference. I now use it as a good value for money hotel when visiting schools in Bucks. I shall use it again.
Food/ helpful staff/ bar with fire/ garden shower very small
Good food excellent staff Unable to work the rooms heating --staff rectified the problem
A Hotel with character and charm at a reasonable price Location - Without a Sat Nav it wol dbe far more difficult to find. Written instructions should clearer. I.e. written by a visitor who is unfamiliar with the surrounding area nd local roads, not a menber of staff who already knows the place and familiar withthe area.
The Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and light. The Breakfast was good. Only criticisms are that the shower in my room was very slow to heat up and as I advised the Man on the reception, if I were a business traveller I would expect a proper power shower. The bacon in my breakfast was a bit greasy.
Free Wi Fi and quiet public space to work.
The hotel is in a nice spot convenient to surrounding countryside with adequate parking. Comfortable beds in a quiet room situated in the original part of the hotel. Adequate facilities. Nice breakfast with good selection of items available. The waitress who served our coffee and cooked section of the meal was very pleasant and attentive. The fact that we booked last minute on the "Net" may have something to do with this but the first room we were given was not ready with unmade beds, dirty cups on dresser. Second room was next to a noisy generator or something making a droning noise. Third time lucky! We were finally offered a twin room in the older part of the building by the helpfull reseptionist. This was was fine.
The room was excellent. Breakfast was a shambles, staff were unable to cope with demand and hence service was pretty appalling.
The rooms were fantastic, lots of old world charm. Very romantic!
Great charme, old England country style
The intimate bar area, the bedroom (which was one of the traditional rooms with oak beams) The fact that the staff were happy to arrange a breakfast at 0330am due to the fact that we needed to leave early.
Very comfortable bed. Peaceful room. relaxing stay. Very cold bathroom, no radiator or heated towel rail. So-so staff. Tried to overcharge me be £100 and when this was pointed out, were not particularly apologetic or concerned.
Location, character, history, comfortable room Poor service and badly organised breakfast
We liked the historical atmosphere and setting of The Crown and the authenticity of its refurbishment. The whole building has tremendous character.
The room was clean and spacious service at breakfast was poor
setting of the property, and receptionist was very helpful room service breakfast tray was dirty, full of dust in each corner.
Traditional style hotel The staff did not have the greatest customer service skills.
Good staff The room smelt the carpet was dirty very small, and didn't feel very nice at all.
Clean and tidy. It could have been warmer in hotel room and in the dining room. Spare blankets in the room would be advisable.
Breakfast Cold water pressure made the taps unusable Traffic noise throughout my stay TV reception erratic
The staff of the hotel is really nice and welcoming. The food is also very good. We had a very good stay in this hotel and were travelling with a six month baby.
Food was excellent
Good car parking Hotel in poor state, peeling paint on exterior and wallpaper hanging off in bedroom Dust on ledges and dado although bed linen crisp and clean.
free car parking...tv in bedrooms...nice dining room.....good location...nice staff when they were available too hot needs air conditioning...no one on site after 11 pm...we stayed in a very cramped loft bedroom and the heat was unbearable
Polite and efficient staff. Given the rooms requested - quiet, close together and not too many stairs. General cleanliness good. Ample parking. Outide of hotel needed decorating, grounds needed tidying. Inside, both bedrooms looked a bit tired - again the decoration let them down. No non slip mats for the bath and no hand rails on the wall above the bath. Glass shelf above sink, soap dish and clothes hook on bathoom door all loose in one room. Fan faulty in one room, but replaced instantly by staff. Breakfast adequate, but could have been warmer.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Room very comfortable. very good breakfast, lots of choice and plenty of food. Staying here was a very enjoyable and safe experince.
Close to town centre A little bit noisy at night
The room was fine for my needs, clean and well appointed The breakfast was acceptable but no more
Location and facilities within the room Very rude staff during breakfast. We were not even greeted or aknowledged during our entire meal and had to ask for a pot of tea. Food was cold.
comfort easy access to local ammenties inc train station bars and food outlets
car park small room, uncomfortable bed
Food was great and plenty of it! We had an on suite room which was very clean and comfortable and next door to the lounge
Shower was hot and powerful.Staff were friendly and made us welcome. Room was clean and comfortable. It was near to the town and had parking.Breakfast was lovely. TV was not very good.Wanted to chill out and watch in the evening, channels limited and picture pretty unwatchable. The heating went off about 8.30-9am so it was a bit cold getting ready in the morning. The Hotel was up a very steep hill from town, didn't bother us but some may find it difficult.
Room quiet with a fair view the evening meal was very poor as was the service
Excellent value for money. Good clean accomodation. And friendly staff. Will recommend to others.
The Manageress was extremely helpful and polite, and gave me a friendly welcome I had requested a smoking room, which I was not given
Easy Internet Access Internet Access Not Secure No bar !
Location, old town shopping, room space, age of the building Several cobwebs in room, you need a duster with a long stick. Room was cold even with the heat on full. Carpet needs to be cleaned. Curtains did not full cover the window.
quality of room and furnishings No restaurant for evening meal
The Executive Rooms are to a very high standard of decor, cleanliness and comfort. The staff in the Restaurant are young and inexperienced. The food has improved greatly.
Excellent historic building that has been tastefully renovated whilst maintaining all of its period charm. Nothing, everything was fine.
Spacious room, very comfortable bed, lovely cotton sheets, stylish. Very well designed new extension. Meagre supplies for hot drinks in the room, breakfast was not of the size or quality I'd expect at this price.
Beautifully decorated rooms. Very pleasant staff. Lovely outside areas.
Tudor building wonderfully restored in a charming Old Town.Very helpful attitude of all staff. Excellent breakfast. Delightful and very comfortable room (in old part of the building). Having to pay for in-room internet connection.
A comfortable fully equiped room in an ancient well maintained 15th century Inn and grounds, set in the picturesque main street of Old Amersham. Well worth a visit to look, see and explore. Several good resturants in easy walking distance. Loud voices from hotel office heard in bedroom (room 5) above. In room tea service not cleaned or refilled. The European hotel staff did their job, were polite and pleasant, however the atmoshere may have been a little clinical and distant. The Inn lacked the on-site presents of an adult English manager.
Peace and quiet of location. The old charm and character of the hotel
Excellent location. Lovely old building. Very comfortable rooms Breakfast was very average - disappointing.
Overall friendly and welcoming with clean warm room. Lack of information on essentials like the time of breakfast. On both mornings we had to enquire the time as no info in the room. No map to show where eating places were etc. tv provided only a few channels with not the widest choice but good value for money overall.
It wasn't cold. Booked on website and while in transit called to say no ensuite bedrooms left but too late for me to change. Duvet had mouldy stains on it. While very few people in bar it was very noisy with shouting until 1am.
I did not stay at the Wendover Arms, two days after my arrival I received a call saying that I should checking somewhere else, to the Buckingham hotel. It was anyway satisfactory.
We had a wonderful room on our last night in England. Couldn't have been treated more 'royally'!
Great price, large room, very close to area I had to work in. Friday night noise from music, tepid water shower, unable to open blinds in room
Comfortable bed and huge tv, free wifi Took an hour for the food to arrive and was stone cold though very tasty, shower room was tiny, my room was next to reception and it was noisy, poor service was slow and not very attentive
Convenient location for where we needed to be Facilities adequate for a brief stay but poor value for money.
In the Thai restaurant the food I had was awful, may be the choice that I selected. The fishcake was like rubber.
Frienbly helpful staff,relaxing atmosphere
Clean tidy room and helpful staff.
clean room very good breakfast 15min walk into town
modern, clean facilities, pleasant helpful staff. very hard bed!
The hotel is being renovated, and the food selection was poor. No bar.
Staff were friendly and polite, room clean and breakfast delicious, thanks.
No ensuite facilities
A very nice atmosphere in the hotel, refurbished and decorated to a very high standard, nice clean and bright. No complaints but could do with a shampoo/shower gel holder in the shower.
The room The noise, the food, the unsecure and unlit building site car park, the fact the hotel was half refurbished and half like someone's house
Malvern House is a quiet place and clean. American Express is not accepted. Restaurant and cinema area are at 15-20 minutes walk.
Clean and bright. Easy access and parking.
Pl;easant and comfortable for a budget price This is more of a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel
Clean room and bathroom One member of staff only, and she spoke no English whatsoever.
Efficient and friendly welcome. Room nice and clean. Good base for business travel.
great value and a great stay. I will look forward in staying in the future
Clean room Staff cannot speak English.
Friendly staff air filter in the bathroom very noisy
Good size bedroom and bathroom and exceptionally clean.
Clean and comfortable rooms, with excellent service. We were staying overnight as on a course nearby, and found Malvern House a pleasant and welcoming hotel.
Nice big spacious room with extra chairs, cupboard space, trouser-press, kettle and tea/coffee and biscuits supplied. Nice large bath in bathroom Nice wide window Food options were good. There were some crumbs on the sideboards when entering the room for the first time - so cleanliness could have been improved. Bed was on wheels, so moved everytime you sat or placed a suitcase on bed - Could have been better support with bed frame.
friendliness of Hotel staff No phone reception on mobile
Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Food was of high quality at a reason price. Tv remote didn't work
Nice big bedroom, good shower, nice friendly staff and great food, beer was not so great Blue laminate flooring??? Thin curtains and a bed that it looked like an elephanty had slept in.
The excellent staff. Good value for money food
The gentleman who checked me in, looked after me so well during my stay. I was sorry he was not there on my last name as I wanted to thank him personally. The food and menus were outstanding and excellent fast wifi. The decor of the bathroom may need updating, and the shower head would not sit with the water projecting outwards. had to hold it over my head.
Friendly staff, and breakfasts were of a very high standard, with a wide menu. Evening meals were good, too, with very quick service. Vent in bathroom would not switch itself off on first night - changed to another room. Vehicular access is on a bend in the road, with traffic definitely exceeding the 40 mph limit!
The staff were friendly helpful and polite. The place was clean tidy and relaxing. The food tasted excellent and was presented well. The hotel had easy access with free parking.
Very warm welcome by the staff. All staff very helpful. Extremely good dinner. A very satisfactory overnight stay. Rather a lot of traffic noise nearby. Had to sleep with bedroom window closed to keep this down. Shower pretty poor.
Cheerful, competent pleasant staff and wholly adequate accomodation for the price.
Great food Bedroom very dark - inadequate lighting
Superb & extraordinary food; very friendly staff; nice rooms
Overall pleasant experience that served the purpose of being a suitable base whilst away on business. Whilst tastefully decorated, I found the fact that the room was in a deep plum colour gave it a gloomy feel and made it feel smaller than it actually was.
Fixtures and fittings were of a good standard, clean, well presented. Room very small.
Newly refurbished rooms and bar area. Pricing of food and drinks extortionate!
Very pleasant location for a variety of National Trust properties plus Chiltern Valley Winery which was the main focus of our break. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening meals but would suggest that some ingredients are scaled down. E.G. no need for salad with Smoked Haddock Gratin and Spinach, etc
The use of the public rooms together with the restaurant and bar. Air conditioning in the bedroom. The dark decor the bedroom. There was no fridge/mini bar.
the food was really good the life the fact that it took five a temps to get a room the young lady that was left on the desk did not no which room was which
The hotel rooms need refurbishing. They are small, dark and poorly appointed.
close to work the next day the reception staff
All okay. Bed too small.
No Internet access (wifi)
Comfortable and clean
Good location for what I needed to do. Dinner was very good.
Service and cleanliness
The convienience of the hotel No hairdryer in the room
The shower was useless
clean ,good breakfast shower poor ,room cramp with to much furniture
Very few decent hotels in High Wycombe within walking distance of centre so choice is limited. Breakfast was reasonable. Poor cleaning standards, especially bathroom.
The Hotel was very clean. The Staff where very friendly and helpfull.
Friendly staff, food was very good Yes, onevery slight point. I was on the ground floor and found that the smell of the kitchen was very apparent; especially in the vicinity of the dining room. i mention this not as a complaint; but simply as an area where there could be an improvement.
