The best hotel we have staid during our holidays. The price is incomparable to the others hotels, for a 95 Euro per night you can stay in very comfortable 2-bedroom apartment with proper lounge, kitchen annex, two bathrooms and big balcony. Rooms were clean, staff very friendly. You also have an access to nice swimming pool, tennis court , ping-pong, mini golf, playground. You can enjoy nice view spending quiet evening on the balcony. Wi-fi is more expensive than described on booking.com.
The apartment was very clean and spacious and thoughtfully equiped with basic provisions, and good information on the local area. Lovely swimming pool.
the spacious appartment and facilities
Roomy apartment, fully equipped kitchen, swimming pool, comfortable beds, airco, etc etc The gate system, rather have a small remote control (english car, steering wheel wrong side)
The rooms are large, include a lounge and with a kitchen give flexibility to cook if you want to. The location, although not easy to find first time, is very convenient for traveling the area.
Hotel is spacious and peaceful, a perfect place to relax! Staff speaks good english and very helpful! Room (in particular the bathroom) needs a bit of updating, wall in the bathroom has mould and shower door can't be closed properly.
Nice poolarea. Beutiful surroundings. Good brekfast. Not a familyplace. Very basic gym.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff incredibly attentive, courteous and helpful. We were made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I can remember having. The only small complaint is that the room had shutters, but the bathroom windows didn't, and the door between the bathroom and bedroom was glass fronted, so it got very light in the room in the early morning. The amazing view from the balcony made up for that though!
Luxury hotel with all facilities. Easy to reach, excellent central location. Beautiful herb and vegetable gardens. Hotel staff is not up to the level of the facilities. We were greeted in English, but the girl concerned could not answer any questions in that language. Upon arrival we were told that we could not have dinner in the hotel restaurant because it was fully booked; looking cross and disappointed for a few minutes resulted in a magic cancellation out of thin air, so that we could have dinner after all. Having told the head waiter at the start of dinner that one of us was a vegetarian, we had nevertheless meat or fish dishes brought to our table five times. As a whole, the hotel and restaurant are overpriced.
excellent venue. we enjoyed our stay.
Staffs are all very kind. Good location to the old town. Tasty foods. Nice room. Nothing.
Serene place, comfortable rooms. The hotel is near a train track. You can hear the trains go by. The best rooms are away from the street and the train tracks.
Beautiful hotel great location lovely rooms variable service, seemed short of staff, on night we arrived took 30 mins to get drink in bar and no luggage porter. One day room not cleaned until 2 30 when we wanted to get back in it and then no towels left, no shower cap for 5 days
The style and unhurried existence in such a beautifully appointed hotel with such excellent food and attention. Well there are two things. The "piped" music all day every day is irritating and not at all what you would expect. Gentle, varied classical would make a great improvement. Secondly, when we checked in at 2pm there was a dirty breakast tray outside out room which was still there the next morning. That is just not good enough.
The design, landscape and setting of Le Mas De Pierre is definitely beautiful. The staff are very professional and diligent. The restaurant is very high quality and a great dining experience.
The attention to detail was excellent and the staff made us feel very special. Food was first class. A shame that we could not have dinner in the garden restaurant as the temperature was only slightly too cool. Would heaters be an option?
Excellent service and great restaurant! The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy. A wonderful experience.
We enjoyed the trranquility of the setting in a medieval village. Food was excellent but expensive. Would recommend a stay for that special occasion.
It was excellent. Courteous and friendly staff all of them are fluent in English. Everywhere in the hotel is highly decorative. Service snack and drink for guests in the lobby. Excellent dinner and breakfast. The key for room was old fasioned and it was always difficulty to open the door.
People at reception desk restaurant, bed(matress), access
Front of house staff, decor and suite size. Expensive and repetitive menu, no outlook on village side, uncomfortable beds, village is major tourist destination!
Staff excellent nothing too much trouble. Food very good. Excellent giant bed. Breakfast very expensive at €20.
The dinner was excellent! We were really satisfied. Although there were some problems in the room such that the fridge was not working and the bath's plag could not be closed properly, they were fixed quickly. The breakfast was not impressive for 20 Euros.
The room was large and well appointed with a nice balcony over-looking the gardens. I was disappointed to be informed on check-in that my wife and I would not be able to dine in the restaurant for the first two nights of our stay due to it being fully reserved. I do not expect to have to call a hotel ahead to reserve a table in their restaurant. For guests, a hotel should find room, particularly for a table of only 2. That said, staff were very helpful in making recommendations and reservations in restaurants in Mougins.
Nice location. Friendly staff.
The gourmet restaurant was excellent and very special although a bit too much "nouvelle cuisine" (meaning we were feeling hungry when we left the table..) the breakfast was impressive with a very large choice and the decoration and ambiance with the beautiful garden were very tastefull and well maintained. A lovely place to stay. Our window door to the terrass did not close correctly, the airconditionning/heater needed reparation so the 1st night we felt really cold. The sheets of our bed were unchanged and during breakfast one of the waiters came in the restaurant to read a newspaper (!!) and another one was already cleaning all the tables and preparing them for the coming lunch, and making a lot of noise, while we were still in the middle of our breakfast (at 10.30!!) , not really the kind of behavior one would expect in a 4 star hotel! I guess it is what happens when you stay there during the low season, the staff is bored and less attentionate for these kind of details! And reparations are not done!
the garden and pool area were excellent.the breakfast patio was relaxing and the buffet breakfast excellent. the staff were very helpful. no
Location and room Yes the service was appaling unfortunately, a shame as it wasn't even that busy.
quiet place with a luxurious swimming pool, excellent location to cities in the environment, a real recommandation to everyone!! meals in the evening are expensive
Beautiful grounds and surrounding areas. Great staff Sound proofing not great - would stay on the first floor and not the ground floor next time!
Breakfast. Very good selection and most helpful staff. Dinner ridiculously expensive and restaurant "full"on the 13th.
Very clean hotel (intern & extern). Much space (garden) to walk with a dog. Digital TV in the room. Friendly people .Swimming pools with extra services (bar, pergola resto) are excellent. Dog (little) was accepted in the restaurant. Breakfast contents was not in relation with all the good items in the hotel. 26€ is to much if yoy have no choice in warm food (eggs, bacon,..;). Coffee was bad. I always took a extra coffe on the expresso machine. Probably you can ask the extra without a cost, but this was not communicated at all.
its a very relaxing hotel but far from town if we had not the navigation, it was impossible to find it
Very attentive staff and wonderful views. Small toilet room in our room and no welcome pack other than two small cakes. This latter comment may sound abit nit picking but after a long day to reach the hotel we would have liked a little more thna we received.
Beautiful entrance. Friendly staff - although way over priced and more like a good 4 star, not a 5 star even for Europe.
The property has an incredible view both across the land down to the sea and of the mountains behind it. Its an enchanting and relaxing place to spend time. The restaurant was very slow. The staff tries to do things for you, but just ends up slowing you down when you could have done it quickly and easily yourself. Modern luxury is not about waiting for people to do things for you, its about empowering you to do it in the easiest way possible.
Iy would be nice to be able to buy just a little snack or some kind of food, mayby just microfood.
(a) Extremely friendly and helpful staff and owners, (b) extremely clean, well appointed and comfortable rooms, and (c) beautiful pool and scenic views and well kept up hotel grounds. Lack of bar/lounge/place to socialize in the evening as neighbouring village shuts down quite early.
Bed size good, staff and management excellent some bathrooms need updating.
It is a lovely place. The pool is gorgoeus and the room was clean. But, it was overpriced and out of the way. If you do not have a car, you should not stay there.
not expensive clean and friendly no tea coffee water in rooms
Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Unique quietness and friendliness. No.
It was convenient to the historic village of St. Paul; however, the hotel was overpriced for the amenities and very small room. the size of the room and only hqving q tub without a shower.
The true personal attention of hotel staff was very appreciated. The styling of the rooms and size of the hotel created a warm atmosphere. For convenience purposes, shower capabilities could be improved with fixed handheld shower hooks
The hotel couldn't have been more helpful to enable us to get the best out of our stay. When a bigger and more comfortable room became available we were moved to it at no extra cost It would have been nice to have some fruit with breakfast.
Very friendly people, nice and quiet hotel.
Good service, nice people, good food, nice ambience, good location. The drive to and from............a nightmare. The road for 200m either side is a major challenge.
location was great, staff friendly, lovely views Don't try and drive to the hotel, very narrow streets. No longer a Relais and Chateau, they need to continue to invest in the hotel
great staff and good location in southern france-town is a nice quiet departure from the rest of the area
Wonderful, wonderful medieval building with the friendliest staff. It felt like home, but a fairy tale one. Expensive breakfast, parking difficulties.
Very charming, small and typical for France hotel. Almost no parking space
The Hotel was right in the middle of a medievil town, a superb experience. Its a pity the restaurant on site was not operating, the street leading to the hotel is extemely narrow, I would reccomend parking nearby at the Place du Chateau and walk across but well worth the effort
The epitome of shabby chic chateaux, without being at all shabby. Delightful and helpful owners and staff, beautiful location. The room had a lovely ambience with great views over Cagnes-sur-Mer to the sea. I would have liked somewhere to sunbathe, but the two public terraces were perfect for a quiet read or drink.
location lack of staff - no atmosphere - falls well short of past standards
We enjoyed our stay very much. The view is wonderful. We had a good time.
very beautifull, very kindly staff, good position and confortable.
Very friendly staff.Very good public transport form the hotel. Breakfast was good but could be varied as after 4 days it was all the same choice.
Charming small boutique hotel, attractively furnished and well located for Nice, Cannes and surrounding area. Helpful and welcoming staff. Nice breakfasts. No lift
The hotel was wonderful, if it had a restaurant it would be perfect. However, there are 2 excellent restaurants close by but you have to be very cautious of traffic when walking to them To get to a restaurant you had to walk on a very busy raod with no sidewalk or take the car into the village
The service is excellent
The staff of Bastide de Valbonne was awsome!! Our room was perfectly prepared for a honeymoon week and disxounted from euro 155 to euro 140 per day as a present. Hotel is 6km fm Cannes and 23 km fm Nice. Also close to A8 for St Tropez. Perfect place to stay out of noisy cities. Hotel is managed by the family and brings home feeling even if you are in France Breakfast euro 12 per person is quite expensive. I feel that same should be included into the room price since we paid euro 144 for breakfast only..
Stylish and cosy place, very well maintained and a relaxing place to be. Easy parking
This hotel was incredible - the staff was so helpful and friendly, the accommodations were very comfortable, and the location was perfect.
Room, swimming pool No easy walking to village
on our trip to provance we have booked few hotels in different locations in order to be closer to the places of interest. Bastide de Valbonne appear as a very high standard villa B&B with best service I have had in France and rest of the Europe with a exeption of Poland - where hotels services are excelent. The owners - staff from Bastide de Valbonne vere extremply helpful and had an updated knowledge about local living such as bus or train timetables, maps, what is worthy to see etc. I wish to come back there in the future. One more thing worthy to mention - we arrived from Cannes to Valbone village on sunday morning and on the busy road French Man offered us a lift to the hotel to avoid the dangerous traffic -this was very nice, thank you 15euro for breakfast seems to be a little to much - possible looked better if included in the full price and discounted - but this is optional. the hotel is located a 15 mins walk from Valbonne village on the very busy road without proper pavement - until we have been told how to take longer but safer route it was quite stressfull.
Friendliness of staff and the atmosphere of the hotel.
The position of both the hotel and the room I found the shower over the bath was not good and I had to kneel in the bath to wash my hair
Friendly, helpful staff. Cleanliness of hotel.
The property is beautiful and comfortable. Very good service. Good breakfast. Good location close to the sea (by car) so finding restaurants is easy. Unfortunately a busy road is very close to the garden and pool; not recommended for clients searching a very quiet place.
Gentle welcome by the evening hotel employee at our arrival 12 euros per day abusive charges applied for our very clean and silent pet dog although contract with Booking did not mention them
Nice beautiful view of St.Paul from room. Great location, easy access from village nearby. Room quite small.
just everything it was so nice, quit and luxurious....
This hotel is in an beautiful setting, the breakfast area/pool-room is particularly welcoming, relaxing and comfortable. Our room was noisy, I believe that the insulation between floors and adjoining rooms could be improved. We were fortunate that the hotel was not completely full.
Friendly, helpful staff. Bright and airy rooms. Pretty grounds. Tiny swimming pool. Very limited room service. Lack of amenities in the rooms (proper glasses, kettle, etc.)
A wonderful small hotel in Provence.
Very charming hotel with friendly staff. The hotel car park is not convenient and is difficult to navigate out of.
Excellent service, cozy rooms, peacefull and green environment, nice restaurant and good food. The pool
We had a very small room which was stated to be a junior suite, which was totally misleading!!!!
The staff were helpful . The golf course was in good order. food for dinner was adequate but expensive.
The calm and natural setting Some issues with Internet connectivity. Did not work and WiFi from bouyges telecom very expensive. Room service very limited on Sundays. Not an hotel for business on my opinion.
It's very quite and isolate The rooms are very dark and the infrastructure not the best. The bathroom are very "simple"
Golf course and privacy of the place
Quiet location situated directly at the golf course. Frindly staff. Good restaurant.
The duplex rooms are very good - it is excellent having a seperate lounge area. The bathroom was clean and modern. The patio door opened onto a good size terrace with access to lovely, quite garden with outdoor pool. The indoor pool / gym / steam room was fabulous. The evening meals are very good, but expensive compared to other good local restaurants. Buffet breakfast is fairly basic, and pricey at 18 euro per person per day.
Peace and quiet and excellent indoor pool
the calm/the beautiful surrounding/the quality of the food/the friendly staff/the excellent room/dream place no
Peaceful place, very easy access to Cote D'Azur, Vence, St.Paul de Vence. Nice swimming pool. No view at all from our room (there was a high, mesy green wall of plants), breakfast rate too expensive (18€, apparently that is the rule in this area), we never got it. You can find good choice in outside cafés for less then 10€ Dinner: nice atmosphere but bad value for money. How would you judge 21€ for 3 microscopic bites of cheese in your plate? (Without honey/marmelade of course!)
Everything, especially the friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant was wonderful. The hotel grounds are beautiful
Friendly helpful staff. Lovely garden. Close to a very pretty small town and good ease of access to the places I wished to visit I felt that the decor of the hotel was sparse, unimaginitive and uninviting, particularly in the 2 bedrooms I had booked. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money to make a hotel room feel welcoming.
Very nice environment, quiet, lovely pool area and good food at the restaurant. We enjoyed our stay.
Nice room with a small balcony overlooking the mountains(and the parking space and entry to the hotel). Small bathroom and after showering everything was wet. Its situated in a very small not very cosy village(industry) next time i will prefer to stay ind one of the small villages in the mountains. Only a short drive to the airport and Nice city centre. Like the swimmingpool and its suroundings close to the hotel open between 14-18 only. Situated in a industry area and a small village wih little charm and few facilities. (good village for shopping grocerys).
The flexibility of the hotel and small kitchen area within room. The hotel was very friendly and peaceful making it a relaxing experience. Would have been good to have more information in our room regarding facilities in all languages to cater for all guests especially as the staff could only speak one language.
Beautiful view. The location of the hotel is not bad if one wants to visit nearby cities and beaches such as Nice, Antibe and Juan les pins. The hotel is situated in the mountains and one absolutely needs a car to get to the hotel. The drive along the winding mountain roads was difficult and scary, especially on rainy days. Never try to stay at this hotel if you are not an experienced driver. There seemed to be a design problem with the shower in the bathroom. There was always a lot of water on the floor after one took a shower, even though the shower curtain was in place. Never had a chance to try the sister restaurant and its piscine (as the swimming pool was open to hotel guests only in the afternoons, when we were hanging out in the city of Nice or on the beaches.)
less expensive than other hotels in Nice area, free parking on premises, quiet, great view, balcony to enjoy the great view difficult to find, need a car, no refrigerator in the room, no free coffee (in room)
Restaurant closed, dark and gloomy rooms, expensive breakfast, no furniture on the balcony, poor state of repair
Clean rooms, helpful staff, good car parking. Long way from Nice and had difficulty finding the hotel.
Clean and modern decor, close to business location. Tv a bit small, no clear instructions concerning internet or dial access for my laptop in the room.
Comfortable beds, little kitchenette, but without kitchen utencilies, small terrace Old building, bad hygiene in the bathroom, a bit far away from the city even with car
the situation in the hills, the view from our room, pleasantness of the staff, glass lift. swimming pool was not really near the hotel itself, it is more part of the restaurant so we did not feel that we would use it
Noislessness, free and good wi-fi, free parking, spacious room bathroom arrangement (getting messed up with water after shower), breakfast
superb family suite and friendly staff
Welcome from staff. Location. Outstanding food. Easy access to beach, airport and Nice/Cannes Couldn't fault a thing
The cook, Martin, is very good. Nice rooms around the swimmingpool. Quality of service depends on which member of staff is on duty. Service can be very slow or very good.
I adored the quiet location...lovely spot close to the coast...but tucked away and private..the staff were wonderful. The food was just gorgeous..the room was lovely opening onto the pool..loved it
I was at international miting in Nice, so I was not at hotel durin all day but in the evening it was beautiful no
the relaxing moments at the nice pool / friendly staff / free internet and free parking / good restaurant / nice rooms
The size of the room and access to swimming pool, very child friendly. The menu was not varied enough and overpriced
Excellent option to stay in the region of Nice, for those who already own the car, the staff is very nice, hotel has good structure, comfort, cleanliness, good food
nice design slightly arrogant/inpersonal staff pretending to be french, but actually dutch!
The hotel staff was very professional. The rooms were well equipped and clean.
