Very friendly and efficient staff. The Hotel was comfortable, excellant breakfasts and good choice of menu at the evening meal. Always a meat, fish and vegetarian option. When I found my initial room noisy I was moved to a quieter one without any problem and without feeling I was making a fuss or causing any problem. I would be happy to recommend this hotel and would stay again myself Just room 16 had a water tank in the room that filled up all the time making a lot of noise. It was also on the main road which I found noisy. I was moved when I requested a quieter room
the bedroom was comfortable. The staff were not very friendly or helpful. On checking in the receptionist was not helpful and when trying to order a drink at 1230 hrs when the bar closed at 0100 hrs we were told by the barman that he had already 'done his till' and was still to hoover the lounge!
The staff was friendly and helpful. However they were scarce and some did not speak english. The roof leaked over our bed and we were unable to find anyone to address our problem.
I was booked in a single room and was given a lovely large double room. The staff didn't appear to be very friendly and more often than not the Reception Desk was not manned.
We (my wife and I) loved the location with beaches, shops, restaurants, pubs and lovely long walks.Frequent and cheap buses very handy. Just a bit noisy above us with people getting up for work in the 'early' hours.

No lifts. 3. Cold tap ran hot sometimes. 4. No fridge. 5. TV - only 4 channels. 5. Under staffed. 6. Electric plug fused and broke our charger. 7. Window would not close - and NOT double glazed.
The breakfast was very nice and the kids loved the use of the games room.

The dinner in the restaurant was very disappointing, so much so that we ate out after the first night. The 'fillet steak' was ceratinly not fillet and the lemon sole was dry and over-cooked.

Stayed as Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast was freshly cooked and good quality. Bathroom is in need of refurbishement. Old marked mirror, broken toilet seat, marked ceiling, just a bit "jaded"
The staff were all extremely friendly and went well beyond the call of duty. The Manager, Chris Robin, recommended a table at a lovely restaurant, Bistro Central in St Helier, and on arrival we were presented with a bottle of champagne as an engagment present from him, which we my girlfriend and I were very touched by. We were only there for 2 nights and wished we could've stayed longer and would definately recommend Pontac House to anyone.
Wi-fi, Traditional service - bags carried to the room, cooked to order breakfast, location. The shower pressure on the 3rd floor was low, so it took a long time for you to have a shower. The property is set is quite small grounds of which the car park takes a lot of space.

Friendly and efficient staff. Though the staff and routines were efficient there was very little atmosphere. The whole experience from the 'Delia Smith' Dinner party menus, the '4 channel' tv room and dated decor is one of nostalgia. The hotel is trapped in the 1970's. Efficiently run, perhaps too efficient if you want a late dinner or breakfast outside the allotted slots. Be aware there is insufficient parking for all the guests.
Friendly, helpful staff, and guests who seem to return frequently. Good location with a lovely sea view and balcony. Lovely food. Clean. It is a shame that the manager is leaving.

All staff were very helpful during our stay and very accommodating. The food was very good. Room very comfortable with very good facilities. Not having a sea view!
Good central position, even with alterations taking place the hotel did very well to not let this effect our experience and enjoyment. i felt the staff serving on the were not aware of who was being attended to, a lot of people were trrying to get their attention , myself having to wait over 10minutes to place food orders and drinks.
The hoel staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help - they appeared to really enjoy their emplyment. Everything was fine - one of the best htoel stays I've had for a long while
The sea view room was well worth the extra money. Good food and attentive service. The loud music in the bar where we were going to eat but decided against this. And went out instead.
The staff at the Grand Jersey were exceptional. Throughout our stay I can say we did not have one complaint during our week. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until the time that we left. The food was lovely, breakfast service was wonderful and room service was a real treat! The Spa was fully booked quite often and it was very difficult to book treatments, however this is merely because the Spa is very good and it only reminded us to book in advance next time!

Large comfortable bed, clean bedroom and public areas, fried breakfast was well cooked and presented. Staff not proffessionally dressed some building leaks were clearly evident when rained. Cold buffete choice limited, Bathroom and some internal ares dated.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and airy with comfy beds and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were a real treat and great to relax in- we had them completely to ourselves! The hotel is just across the road from the beach and is about a mile from the centre of St Helier. On the evening we stayed in, the hotel bar lacked atmosphere with football on the television and the bar food was very basic (the fresh beer battered fish had obviously been frozen), however we did visit out of season and the restaurant was closed.
Friendlyness and very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay comfortable Had to ask for the items mentioned in welcome pack as were not ready in accomadtion, eg , hair dryer, phone . Also towels were very worn out eg large holes in one or two and frayed
it was very good value for money at £29.00 B&B for a double room, however at that price it is a gamble, breakfast was fine, but not a gormet exprience, poached eggs cooked well and the hot breakfast was cooked to "order" - not under arc lights The shower was tempremental, either a faulty regulator or distantance from the boiler, hot water always came, eventually... First time took 5 mins, In asking for another room then I learnt half the hotel has been refurbished and half hasnt, we rejected the other two rooms offered (stained filthy carpets as opposed to wood laminate flooring) and perservered with the shower

very easy & central for exploring island. room we had was very cold in the evening,heating in room failed.
The convenience of being near to St Helier and also a good setting off point to other parts of the island.

my wife and i enjoyed are stay at the hotel, very nice clean comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. i read a couple of reviews about the hotel before booking and they seemed a bit disappointed with the hotel but personally we did enjoy are stay and would definitely come back.
The view overlooking the harbour and the buffet breakfast. The sauna and steam room were an added welcome after a days' walking The smell of fish in the evening as you enter the lobby. This was every evening and not very pleasant

I liked the location (being close to both the harbour, st. helier and the bus station). I wouldn't really recommend it for a long stay with children, as the pool was quite small and not really aimed at children. The Merton Hotel is where we usually stay (when travelling with the children) and that is fantastic for them. However, for adults only the Radisson and The Royal Yacht are both fantastic for a stay in Jersey. The rooms are excellent and beds very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful too. The mini bar only had two bottles of water in it. That's about it really!
The location was perfect,the cleaniless was excellent.The breakfast was first class with plenty of choice.My partner and I would gladly visit again. We liked it all!!

Very pleasant and efficient staff, on arrival, excellent room very clean and spacious, food was excellent again served by pleasant and efficent staff. Kept awake most of the night by party goers outside, two sets of double glazing did nothing the dull the noise and we were on the fifth floor.

The common areas, cuisine and location. The shower was inadequate, the bath took ages to fill and there was no mirror suitable for short-sighted people.
Staff everywhere in the hotel were better than first class. Reception was fast and helpful when needed. Patrick in the bar was low key but effective, efficient, with a great timing for the next round. Finally, serving staff for breakfast could not have been better. Narrow bath and a light-weight shower curtain means that anyone taking a shower finds themselves trying to hold the shower curtain at a distance and work the shampoo with one hand. Rust points at the top of the bath safety bar made it look fragile. Room 305 is rather tiny to be classed as "Executive". In Europe it would be an ordinary room at around 90 Euros per night (but without the Pomme d'Or top-class breakfast).
the staff was extremely friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable booking a spa hotel i expect to be able to use the spa, but this is only open to guests 8-10am during breakfast and 6-8pm when you would like to get ready to eat. unless you book a treatment then you can use through the day. could not eat in the hotel at all restaurants was either closed or booked , but no advice on booking the hotel to make sure this is booked prior to arrivals

Our room was clean and well equipped and inviting to return to after a busy day. The situation of the hotel was perfect for our requirements ie closeness to shops yet very peaceful in rooms. Staff very helpful and obliging. Didn't like restricted times for using pool, not that we used it but we might have done if we could have used it at any time - if we had booked a spa treatment, we could have used it any time on that day.

Shame I was there for business but would definitely recommend to anybody who'd like a romantic/relaxing getaway! Will definitely return!!! The staff were exceptional. Friendly, Helpful, always at hand to help with any ideas of how best to enjoy your stay. In comparision to other establistments in the imediate area the menu in the Zephur bar was not great and not good value, which put us off eating in any of the other bar/resturaunt in the hotel.

the atmosphere was one of welcome, and although I am single I liked the fact that it was very much family orentated. the staff could not do enough for you.
Food excellent Beds - springs on bed were so warn I could feel every spring, and was only a 4ft 6 in bed (partner over 6 ft., so the bed too small). Had to sleep on the floor the first night because of the bed springs. When complained they moved us to another room. Rooms very dated, and tired, and overheated without air conditioning were stifling.

the facilities and the location were excellent...and value for money Breakfast service was very poor; asked on 2 days to share table with other guests - whilst there were plenty of clean tables available; no courtesy in asking us or the couple we were to share with...annoyed us quite a lot when the head waiter would not even listen..should have complained and would have done if staying more than 3 days. He actually spoilt the start to the day.
I thought the reception staff were helpful and the hotel has just recently been decorated and is now very modern. The cocktail bar prices were the same as the local pubs and i was expecting it to be more. We did not get a chance to visit the pool but from what we saw it is a shame we didn't make the time. The location was excellent and near all the shops, beaches and pubs. I could not fault the housekeeping they were great. Apart from the breakfast it should be a 3 star not a 2 star. The breakfast was terrible. We were given one sausage, one slice of bacon, fried egg, some mushrooms and a tomatoe. Not enough for me but maybe for a 5 year old. The service was slow for it not being busy as it had just opened its doors at 8 am, we were finaly seen to after 15 minutes. It will not stop me from advising friends and family to visit the Mayfair.

The variety of possibilities for eating, drinking and relaxing along with easy parking and access on foot to St Helier and by car to the rest of the island we're just what we needed. We swam each morning and appreciated the varied facilities of the aquadome. Very little at all - shame that the sauna was not working.
Some staff were very nice and helpful, especially in the Italian restaurant. We have to thank them for saving our dinner. The aquadome is the main attraction, but unfortunately it does not make up for the low quality standard presented in the main complex. Some staff require training. Especially at reception and in the breakfast room we were treated with disrespect. The entire hotel complex has the appeal of a dated cruise ship which was underlined by the dominating presence of elderly people sleeping in the chairs. Food is nothing special. Cleanliness is an issue. Upon arrival in our room, our baby crawled over the floor and found worn underwear. We were given a new room, but for the price of a five star hotel in Zurich, we expected a lot more.

Its position, close to St. Helier but not too close. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The food and service couldn't be faulted.
The quality of food was very good, staff friendly and the leisure and entertainment 1st class. Breakfast menu could have been changed every other day. The rooms were 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. All in all a reasonable hotel with the potential to be much better.

The hotel was perfectly situated to explore the island and the staff were very helpful in making sure what they could offer was their best. My room was situated at the back of the hotel which was noisey and could be a negative to other guests

Service was generally good Breakfast service was erratic, depending on where we sat. Some tables seem to fall in 'no-man's land' between teams of waiters. Breakfasts get left under the warming lamps, rather than delivered to the table.
The dinners were excellent, the staff very helpful and the sitting rooms welcoming. However, the above reference to offensive language is itself, offensive. The absence of a service charge - I find the request for gratuities rather embarrassing.
The Hotel is stunning, and has views across the bay, the food was first class and silver service to match, but be aware that there is a steep hill up to the hotel from the harbour and limited parking available in the town, the hotel does have ample parking and on a wet day the staff even appeared in the car-park with umbrellas, I would strongly recommend this hotel.
