Pros: Lovely views of the hills and the river. Easy access on arrival with the code and a hearty breakfast in the morning . A well appointed bedroom and spacious bathroom. Thank you so much for the lift to the station.
Cons: No problems. Location is fine just a cheap taxi ride from the station and if you have a car it will be fine.
Pros: Large exceptionally clean room with nice linens! Fantastic breakfast buffet. Irene and staff at front desk were very helpful and friendly. Close to walk down to River trail. Would definitely stay here again if in Norway!
Cons: Shower was very slippery.
Pros: Great late check-in option without meeting hotel staff, nice resting place for guests, free coffee/tea machine and microwave oven on the first floor.
Cons: Before visit we asked if the hotel could provide us some vegan options for breakfast, but they even didn't know what it means and provided some standard omnivore menu. :)
Pros: The personnel were very helpful and friendly. The room was large and clean. The facilities were modern and in good working order. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The bathroom did not have much counter space.
Pros: I got a large and tastefully decorated room which was very comfortable. There was no noice at all and I could sleep very well there. Supermarket and everything needed could be reached within a couple of minutes by car. The hotel offers the most delicious and nicely presented breakfast and the staff is great. All in all I can just say that value for money was excellent.
Pros: The hotel is very clean and practical. The breakfast is very good and the breakfast staff is awesome! They are outstandingly nice and receptive! They seem to love what they do and should be an example for everybody that works with people. Congratulations for the two lovely ladies!
Pros: It’s spotless
Pros: Clean and functional budget hotel with very easy way of booking and self serving check in and out. Really good breakfast from salty to sweet with some local specialties. The staff is very friendly and caring.
Pros: Staff were friendly and they provided everything we needed.
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, really pleasure to come back,I can just say a very big THANK YOU ,⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pros: Great location: splendid views, perfectly restored historical fortress. Rooms are comfortable. Note: breakfast and reception are in a different building than rooms. Parking a few meters down the road close to the entrance of the fortress
Cons: Only one very very small minor: airco could not cope with 3 days of 30 plus in a row.
Pros: Interior design was impressive, so many fine details and great combination of the old and modern.
Cons: View from the bedroom! A wall! Room was narrow, very little room to pass the bed. (207A)
Pros: The view
Pros: The view from our room was the best, fantastic. The bed was comfy and the bathroom very good with great shower. Good breakfast.
Pros: Facinating milieu as one could expect. The room was comfortable and practical. Reataurant, where the breakfast was also served, situated in the separate building was very nice and cosy.
Cons: In the Parking area outside the castle walls, there were no signs indicating where the hotel might be. Entering the intramuros (one had a feeling of entering an open air museum and not a hotel) there were signs showing the way to the reception and to the hotel, situated in two separate buildings. The room to the hotel building was locked and in the reception building there was not a soul. In the court yard two friendly germans, having had the same problems, adviced that one must first go to the reception where one can obtain a key to the barracs house (the hotel itself). In the end we found the friendly receptionist and were given our key to the barracs house where our room was. To our dismay, the window of our room could not be opened to get some fresh air. Having arrived quite late in the evening (around 8 pm) it was not possible to dine in the restaurant. We were told it should have been ordered in advance! Something that is not so common in a hotel... Also in the village the restaurants we closed when we finally got there.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, rooms lovely & clean.
Cons: Didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t park our car up at the accommodation, a walk up a very steep hill to the accommodation, very badly signed for the hotel & reception area & the fact that we stayed in one building & had to go across to another building to eat breakfast. Beautiful views but to far away from the town ,Breakfast staff not very good with the customers, should really do a hospitality course.
Pros: The room was a great standard and the views from the place are stunning. Would definitely stay here again and it is the best hotel in the area
Cons: The air conditioning unit in the room was useless as it did not even blow out air on the coldest setting. Considering it was at least 25c at night it was difficult to sleep. Also the fact you have to book your evening meal 2 days in advance is a bit frustrating. On the second night I just wanted a snack or a light meal but there is no option for this.
Pros: Breakfast was great, good variety and a great view if sitting outside. !st night the room was facing a wall which was very disappointing (especially considering the place certainly didnt seem to be full) but got a better room with more light and a view for the 2nd night, which took me from feeling just ok to happy customer :-)
Cons: A better room allocation on the first night. The hotel certainly didnt seem full so to get a room with a view of a wall certainly didnt inspire me to return

Pros: The location was too near the big road. It could be more selection for the breakfast.
Cons: Too much traffic if you have the room in the front of the hotell.
Pros: The location is convenient. The daily breakfast is fantastic. Good WiFi.
Cons: It’s pretty overpriced for the quality of room, even by Norwegian standards.
Cons: No blackout in the room makes it very light during summer
Pros: Friendly bartender. Food mediocre, both dinner & breakfast.
Cons: Extremely overpriced at NOK 1550,- a night compared to standard. In dire need of refurbishment. Room not too bad, but clear throughout the rest of the property that times must be hard. Lots of loose rugs covering holes in the carpet in corridors. Not even a haidryer in room. Hardly room to sit on the toilet due to the sink taking all the space. Nowhere to hang the towels. Miserable and not at all serviceminded reception staff both at check in and departure. Not a smile or wishing you welcome, not even looking up greeting guests good morning, although a nice friendly man in the bar. Attended American evening with american food & "Elvis" entertainer. Food not too bad although cold. Was told it started 19:00 so we had booked a table for then. As we only checked in shortly before we asked if it would be ok to come a little later, but was told that we should be on time. Gave up waiting for the entertainment after 2 hours. Asked staff what was happening about the entertainment only to be told that it didn't start for another hour. Who waits 3 hours for entertainment? Would have been great if we had been informed about this. Made no sense having to be there for 19:00.. Was never asked if everything was ok with food or room, which is a tell tale sign of the fact that they are already aware of the fact that it isn't. Very disappointing stay.
