Parador de Guadalupe - Guadalupe - Building
1
8.8 Excellent (1,406 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Parador De Guadalupe Caceres in Guadalupe, you'll be 0.1 mi (0.1 km) from Monastery of Santa Maria de Guadalupe and 9.3 mi (15 km) from Las Villuercas Lookout. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic - right next door to the Monastery where we went to see the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.... and there is parking! The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. I especially appreciated the 'tolerance -friendly' breakfast, which includes gluten-free bread and lactose-free milk. The wild boar stew at dinner was superb, as was the Ribero del Duero wine. The log fire in the lounge was very snug. All-in-all, our group of 9 had a very relaxing stay.
Cons: The bathroom smelt of drains. (Room 11)
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful building and the large bedroom with balcony and views over the montestry.
Cons: Dreadful service. This was our fourth parador stay. They all lack rudimentary management and staff training. seems they think guests will only visit once possible for one night, so why bother. Dead hand of the Spanish state is probably to blame too.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful courtyard with lemon trees growing throughout. Lovely garden and pool. Great character to the building. Exceptionally clean. Comfortable beds. Beautiful views from the balcony. Large room, very quiet and real luxury.
Cons: We struggled a little with the language barrier (we shamefully don't speak Spanish) so the welcome was awkward. Other places have overcome this through lots of smiles from staff but here we felt a little lost and were given the impression we were a bit of an inconvenience. Price of breakfast at 17 euros was a bit expensive.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the heart of Guardelupe, friendly and English speaking staff. Fast chek-in and out. Beautiful garden, and good food. On-site parking
Cons: The beds should be changed to a better quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of choice for breakfast. Location was good but Guadalupe itself is not very child friendly.
Cons: It would be nice to have restaurant options available all day, especially when travelling with a two year old. I know it is Spain but it is also a hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and beautiful big room with sun deck. Magnificent gardens. Very good dinner. Delighted to see large containers of shampoo, body lotion and lotion instead of individual plastic ones.
Cons: Very slow check in and check out. Small reception area with only one person on duty with many guests waiting. Parking cost 14 Euros. Ridiculous! Breakfast too pricey so ate elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Hotel. Excellent location. A jewell of a place to stay, very good restaurant. A very positive experience at this property.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a hotel with character and history. We have stayed previously. Our room was spacious, and had a view to the hills around the town. Breakfast was good. We were able to walk around one of the beautiful garden warrantless, accessed from the hotel, even though the tourist hours for visits to the cathedral etc do not start until 10am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful medieval complex attached to the famous monastery in Guadeloupe. The place just oozes history. Our room had a view of the mountains and a matrimonial bed. The ceiling seemed to reach up to the heavens. Free access to the main cloister is given at various times of the day and it is quite an experience to wander around this magnificent sanctuary without the crowds. The town is cute for a wander and buffet breakfast will set you up for the rest of the morning. A most worthwhile experience!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, buildings.
6.0 Good
Pros: Lovely, historic location
Cons: Not somewhere to visit off season. It felt like we were the only guests and the hotel felt rather cold and inhospitable. Unfortunately the facilities in the hotel did not justify the room rate.
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Converted from a monastery. Historic building right in the heart of the town. Parking outside. Room comfortable small but high ceiling. Breakfast - range of food good. Reception staff were excellent.

Cons: Well, frankly speaking, the WiFi is really weak
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Second time at their place and it was wonderful, we'll definitely be back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Great location. Hosts were friendly and helpful, but only spoke Spanish. The host leant out a guide book of the area which was helpful. Free parking available about a 5 mins walk at the local grocery store.
7.0 Good
Pros: The owners were really helpful and very pleasant. The room is compact but all the essentials are here and the bathroom extras a bonus. The location is excellent if you are planning to visit the monastery - a must in our view. It is just off the main square though slightly hidden, a short distance down the road to the left of the Altamira. My advice is definitely to drop your luggage near the Arco del Chorro Gordo, go through the arch and turn left BUT ON FOOT (only about 25 metres). then go up the hill to the right of the monastery in your car and park. The reason is the very narrow streets of the old town.
Cons: The bed was a bit narrow. That apart, everything was fine.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location right in square and in front of monastery and church
6.3 Good
Pros: The location of the hostal
Cons: No window in the room
6.0 Good
Pros: The excellent view of the cathedral. The bathroom was very modern an clean. The paella was delicious.
Cons: No elevator and no one offers to help you with luggage up the 3 flights of stairs. The staff was snarky and had an attitude towards visitors. Except for blue eyes/ gray fox hotel manager, he was very much the problem solver and not rude like the rest of the staff. Also, the beds are hard.

4.2 Okay
Cons: We arrived on the day of a fair which meant the Main Street was closed to traffic . This would have been know when we booked instead we had great difficulty in reaching the hotel having been lucky enough to find a parking space done distance away . The staff were not helpful The beds were uncomfortable and the food offered at supper almost inedible. Overlooking the Main Street it was very noisy late into the night and early in the morning. In contrast everyone was much more helpful in the morning when the breakfast was simple but delicious It was a real advantage being do so close to the monastery we were able to be on the first guided tour of under day and so avoided a long queue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenience staff and cleanliness
Cons: Hard pillow
