Pros: Chimbo lodge was fantastic. Rosario and Christian did everything to make us extremely comfortable. Food was fresh and delicious. The fires kept us warm. Most of all, the friendliness of the hosts and the beauty of the setting are what make this place extremely one-of-a-kind. Thank you Rosario, Christian, and Marco Cruz for sharing such a sacred place with the world.
Pros: The location, service, food and facilities were all exceptional. Hopefully I will be able to return again one day soon. Love the view, decor and the alpacas outside my window!
Cons: Impossible to contact through the numbers given; all of agency in town - not lodge
Pros: Christian and Estevio were fabulous hosts. Everything was beyond expectation. Service was spectacular!
Cons: That we only had 3 nights.
Pros: The setting and location of the place The efficiency of the correspondence emails by the lodge prior to check in
Cons: We wanted a superior option but it was unavailable. When we arrived, the room was not occupied. The standard double was small and very cold with tiny electric heater. There was no hot water to shower.
Cons: there was no internet - would have been nice to know that we had to pay cash and that there is nothing around to get anything
Pros: The location of the lodge is amazing. Great view on the Chimborazo, Alpagas, nice staff, good food (diner + breakfast), plenty of hot shower, etc. We loved this place so much, we decided to extend our stay one more night! Do not miss it!
Pros: Absolutely brilliant stay at the lodge. Felt a bit of a fraud as we were not even hiking, never mind climbling, but the staff were helpful and welcoming and the location adn views were absolutely stunning. Views of the volcano incomparable and views of the milky way at night blissful.
Cons: Would be great to be able to pay by creit card somehow (ahead of time? pre pay?) despite the lack of coverage at the lodge.
Pros: It’s one of the most stunning places we’ve ever been. The food and hospitality were excellent. I loved the llamas and it’s the most beautiful side of the mountain to hike! Perfection!
Cons: Our stay was too short!!
Pros: I rarely take the time to write reviews, but in this case it's warranted. As a climber and lover of all things outdoors (and mountains in particular), I was blown away by this place. It's located right at the foot of Chimborazo, and the views are stunning. Marco Cruz, the owner, is a climbing legend and he has put a tremendous amount of thought into all aspects of the property. The restaurant and cabins are a cozy blend of Swiss and Ecuadorian styles, and provide a very nice backdrop to anyone's stay. I was in the "Reinhold Messner" room, which is practically a temple to Messner's accomplishments, complete with signed photographs of his ascents of various Himalayan peaks. The other rooms are similarly themed. It was truly a unique place to spend the night. The food is very good (breakfast and dinner are included), and the service is strong as well (often by Marco himself). In addition, Marco and the staff did a very good job of helping with all aspects of my Ecuador journey, from my ascent of Chimborazo, to arranging transportation to other cities, and so on. Highly recommended - a truly special place.

Pros: The details in design and the friendly attention of the owners
Cons: The hot water didn't work and I could here the people of the bathroom next to our room when they were using it.
Pros: Easy to find, right outside town, with secure parking off the street. The staff was very accommodating, the room was comfortable, and breakfast was good.
Cons: It's just far enough away from the city center that it wasn't worth leaving for dinner.
Pros: Very friendly owners and amazing view at the summit of chimborazo; Very tasty breakfast!
Cons: We thougt it would be closer to the center.
Pros: Owners are really lovely people; the room was very nice and the bed super comfortable; the bathroom one of the best of our trip in Ecuador!!
Cons: Slightly out the city centre; it is 15 minutes walk or 1$ lift.
Pros: The proximity to Chimborazo and the spacious and comfortable rooms. Also the breakfast in the morning was delicious.
Cons: The room we got was literally next to the highway, and the cars/trucks going by all night disturbed our sleep.
Pros: We arrived a little late and the staff was amazing. After they checked us in they opened the kitchen and served up an amazing meal.
Pros: -Nice and clean -Excellent hot shower (after running the water for 5 min, as we were told) -friendly staff
Cons: -Next to a rather noisy road. Not for light sleepers. -WIFI pretty week in room
Pros: Everything, starting from the great service to the friendly faces and the personal touch to make your stayed spectacular.
