Hotel Palacio del Intendente - Guarromán - Building
1
9.3 Excellent (504 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Palacio del Intendente offers free Wi-Fi access and an outdoor swimming pool. It is located half-way between Madrid and Seville, in the peaceful village of Guarromán. The hotel was built as a palace in the 18th century. It has a pretty courtyard and gardens. Palacio del Intendente has comfortable bedrooms, with air conditioning and TV. There is also a relaxing lounge with an open fire. Guarromán is famous for its delicious food, particularly cakes. It also has an ideal location, just off the major A4 road. It is 50 km from the regional capital, Jaen.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff!!!!!! Man at the reception was super helpful!!!! Free coffe, tea, biscuits! Nice interior, comfortable for people who uses wheelchairs, except the swimming pool area.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Booked a full bed. All they have are twins put together. Not comfortable for a couple.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely grand old palace very well renovated full of character and very comfortable. Helpful and welcoming owners. Great pool - to swim in and sit next to! Free tea and coffee but no breakfast available. Lift!
Cons: The hotel is great but Guarroman is not a very prepossessing place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find and could park outside the hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean and Manuel was charming and spoke very good English. Plenty of good places to eat nearby at very reasonable prices.
Cons: Leaving......I will definitely be back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: staffs are really friendly, helpful.place is clean, beds are comfortable.overall very nice place to stay.
Cons: staffs cannot speak english. but they were so nice that we managed any way.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel - we were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room and bathroom. Comfortable double bed and room to sit outside by the pool or in the courtyard, as well as the dining area available to guests. Even though they don't provide breakfast, there is a coffee maker and milk available and the fridge has an honesty bar at very reasonable prices too. Staff were excellent, despite no English on her part and no Spanish on ours we managed to communicate and understand each other for what were the essentials.
Cons: Nothing really, there is a square outside where people congregate and socialise so there was some external noise, but nothing the hotel could control.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Being in an old palace, typical Spanish architecture from the XVIII century, meticulously restored and deorated with beautiful furniture and decorative objects. Very clean and comfortable. We had a feeling of being at home, since we were given the keys to the front door (original door!!) There is a swimming pool, which was very appreciated after a long drive under the hot Spanish sun. Very homey staff, nice and welcoming. No breakfast or meals, only a small expresso coffee bar (free tea and coffee) which enjoyed on the patio, and a cooler with soft drinks and water (1 euro each)..
Cons: Although the hotel is located on the main street and plaza of this small town, unfortunately the plaza seems to be the gathering place for the town's youth. One of our room windows, at the corner of the building, was right above the plaza steps, so it was quite noisy until late hours. Could not get the air conditioning to work (perhaps our own fault facing a complicated system), but opening the windows solved the problem, as there was a very pleasant night breeze.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. And being lodged in a old and very well preserved building
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean nice room and hotel in general.
Cons: TV was a little small.
7.0 Good
Pros: A beautiful old house in a plaza off the road through the town ( which if off the main road). Town itself is quiet. Property has many old items of furniture and decorative items. Welcome was good, although staff speak only Spanish. A coffee maker and fridge are available for use and coffee, teas and milk are provided.
Cons: We knew that no breakfast was available and opted to self-cater for this aspect. However, it would be good if plates, bowls and cutlery were provided, even disposable ones. No kettle, so water has to be boiled in the microwave. There were few other guests during our stay. One has to wonder if serving breakfast and getting good reviews for it would increase the number of guests and make the provision of breakfast viable. During our stay the baker in the village was not open (or it is nowhere where it is shown on Google), nor was one of the two cake shops - the other was open on one of the 3 days we were there.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fresh and good. The pool was just right and the owners/staff were very friendly. An excellent hotel for travellers and also for those wanting to explore the historic area of Jaen.
7.7 Good
Pros: We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at the Hotel Palacio del Intendente and it was in an excellent position for a stop over on our way back to Ciudad Real Airport being only 5 mins off the main A4 motorway. The reception staff made us feel very welcome and did everythning they could to make our stay enjoyable. The Hotel is a beautiful building which is very well cared for and we appreciaed the lovely surroundings.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a renovation project that took 3 years to complete to an extremely high standard. Therefore, as you would expect from such a project, the hotel is charming and spotless. It is positioned in the center of a charming village with a tapas/restuarant bar, chemist, 2 banks, supermarket and bakery within 100m. There is plenty of parking just outside the hotel on the main street. The hotel owners (Luis Miguel and Juana María) are particularly welcoming and will do anything to please their guests. Most people use the hotel as a stopover as it is just off the main Madrid-Seville motorway, however it is also a great place to stay to enjoy the local white villages and spectacular scenary in the national parks. Highly recommended.
Cons: It is not possible to fault the hotel and the levels of service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A real taste of Spain located just off the main route through Spain , Ideal for a stop over. Very comfortable and clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel owner and his wife were helpful and very welcoming. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, newly renovated and decorated and has a real wow factor for such a small, inexpensive place - the lighting in the communal areas in particular is subtle and helps to create a warm atmosphere. The hotel has a contemporary design in an old building whilst still maintaining traditional values and charm.. It is well placed for the main (A4?) motorway and represented excellent value for money in an interesting part of Spain. We only stayed for one night but would have liked to have had more time to explore the surrounding area. We will definitely go back and have already recommened it to others.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: There's a bit of a walk down stairs to the apartment
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The orthopedic bed mattress was excellent. The outdoor area with our room was a lovely feature We were not aware there was a breakfast facility so we went out to eat. The hotel location was excellent being in the centre. The hotel appearance as you entered was very good, decor etc and you knew someone cared about the hotel appearance.
Cons: The fact I couldn't speak Spanish but only English. That however is no fault of the hotel!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was close to the centre of town and within walking distance to many of the local historical attractions.
Cons: It was a shame that they had no restaurant facilities but in the end this didn’t matter as they had a good link with a local cafe that did breakfast (cup of coffee, glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and half baguette toasted) for €2.50!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything we wanted for a comfortable night ... with even a little fridge to keep our bottle of water cool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Third visit to Baviera. Although rooms are small they are very comfortable ( traditional spanish style). Good secure car park (extra fee). Love Linares, lively city with great shops and bars. Very convenient for motorway (about 10 kms)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else
Cons: Some noises during the night (room 108) and the receptionist not speaking English at all.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location,easy parking lot
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel deserves easily 3 stars. The gentleman on check in was very friendly and welcoming. The room was small but comfortable and got everything you need for a short stay. The bathroom was our favourite - new, modern, with a big rain shower. We definitely would stay in the baviera hotel again.
Cons: For a longer stay we would book the mini junior suite as the double room was quite small and the window was facing the corridor, so no direct air access.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very central, clean. Nice little terrace attached to the room. No frills, but we just needed a place to sleep and shower, and for that it was very good.
Cons: The toilet and bath tub could do with an upgrade.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location.....so convenient. Acommodation by the staff...they put a mini-fridge in our room! Great advice about street parking and bars.
Cons: We wanted 2 beds and paid for 3. Regular rooms 40€ a night, we paid 50€...for a tiny, windowless (sky-lighted) room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were very friendly and willing to help. The rooms were very comfortable and had all of the necessary amenities including ac/heating. Very beautiful and traditional andaluz building in an ideal location. Very good value for money too!
Cons: It would have been useful to have had a vending machine in the reception area where you can buy bottled water. I had to keep going to the super market to stock up which was abit inconvenient but not a major issue!

Pros: Very comfortable business hotel. There is an excellent Italian restaurant next door. The rooms are spacious; parking is a problem if you don't want to use the garage, but 10 euros is reasonable by Spanish standards.
7.5 Good
Cons: The breakfast was not up to a standard I expect.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Proper coffee at breakfast, fresh fruit too. Comfy bed, quick check-in and check out.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff couldn’t do enough to help
Cons: All ok
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, very central location, big comfy bed, excellent en suite bathroom, controllable heating and a large balcony with tables and chairs
Cons: Tv remote didn't work and there is a small amount of audible sound from next door occasionally, very minor gripes in all honesty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was terrific - right downtown and having parking underneath was a blessing. The air conditioning was welcome and it worked so much better than other hotels that I stayed in on this trip. The staff were friendly and efficient and switched to either English (both receptionists were completely fluent) or a pleasant mixture (other staff) which made my visit fun
Cons: I wanted to buy a copy of the book in my room which had excellent photographs and reviews of the region but there wasn't one available.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Just that it is close to downtown
Cons: The service and that the parking is payed extra and nobody warns on the site
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: You will hardly find somebody to speak English language. It’s not possible sometimes like this in a 4 stars hotel ... Poor breakfast for this class of hotel

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, so considerate and pleasant, the charming decor, the location, the breakfast was very good and included delicious roscos. Family atmosphere.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet little town off the tourist radar. Old fashioned but very clean.
Cons: No ice cream
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Beds and baths were okay for the night. Breakfast was traditional Spanish.
Cons: We reserved three rooms for the night. Room 102 smelled so bad my wife and I could not stay in it. I moved to room 105 with my adult sons, which had an extra bed. My wife moved to room 110 with her sister. We observed what appears to be black mold on the wall of room 105.the decor of the rooms is aged and dated. A maintenance man had to be called to locate the air conditioner remotes. The manager in the evening promised a refund of the room we did not use. He apologized for your inconveniences. The morning clerk refused a refund because the room 105, I stayed in was a bigger room.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location for our journey, budget hotel, good food and fantastic atmosphere with the locals on a Friday night. Lovely terrace to sit outside and soak up the atmosphere.
Cons: No green space nearby for exercising dog, but plenty of development land which was fine.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I like the layout of the rooms and the outside table and chairs where one could sit and relax after a long drive. The staff were very friendly and the food was good.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that there was a 'bolster' rather than pillows, this and the traffic noise meant that I didn't get a great nights sleep but someone else may not have had a problem. I might stay there again on my return trip, if I do I'll take a pillow with me.
4.3 Okay
Pros: staff ok kids play area car parking outside your room cleanliness ok
Cons: Bed and pillows terrible. No restaurant open even though it's advertised. It seems this is a regular occurrence!!!!! Had bar snacks which were not good. Previously stayed in another hotel in Bailen (Zodiaco) which was the same, restaurant closed. Then trying to find one open in the very small town, difficult, didn't open until 20.30. Best to find another town to stay in, not Bailen.

Pros: Great place for a stopover on the way through Spain - quiet, even though right on the motorway. Good size room, good value, free parking right outside. Good meal in the restaurant in the evening. Breakfast was limited (coffee and croissant) but fresh. Check rooms though - ours should have been a double, but had 3 single beds in it.

Pros: As above
Cons: Convenient to motorway and a good sized room. Evening meal was ok
Hotel La Perdiz - La Carolina - Bedroom
11
8.3 Excellent (1,683 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in La Carolina, Hotel La Perdiz is within a 15-minute walk of Delicias Plaza and Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa Monument. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The parking is simply brilliant. Every ground floor room has its own garage, with an up and over door controlled by a remote and a lockable door between the garage and the room. As a bonus, at the other end of each room is a small sitting-out area with a table and a couple of chairs that overlooks the central courtyard. We also liked the fact that the room rate included a really good breakfast.
Cons: The worst point is the lighting in the room, which is really inadequate. There's a light either side of the bed and a ceiling light, but the bulbs are very low wattage, as is the light outside the room in the sitting-out area. In fairness most hotels, especially in France and Spain, have inadequate lighting in the rooms. Our room also didn't have extra pillows, just a bolster on each bed, but we travel with our own pillows so no problem. I have no doubt that if we'd asked for extra pillows they would have been provided.
7.5 Good
Pros: Having a garage attached to the room and the bedroom and bathroom were a good size. Nice staff
Cons: The location. La Carolina isn’t worth a visit
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb accommodation with private parking, which is a real bonus. Little open terrace in the backyard with table and chairs allows for smoking etc.
Cons: Too dim lighting in the room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We’ve stayed here before always welcoming and kindly
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's a nice hotel in the middle of nowhere. We used it to stay overnight on our way from Sevilla to Elda. Unfortunately it was raining so we could not enjoy fully the little terrace. Our room had a garage. It was a surprise.
Cons: Very poor sound insulation. Can hear neighbors. Located in a small town so if it's late then you have to eat in hotel but restaurant in hotel is not great and expensive for no reason.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Position of room, secure personal garage for car, on site walking area for dog
Cons: You can take your dog, but there is no place outside here at all to eat that will allow your dog with you. They have wooden kennels with chains for you to tie your dog outside in the garden. There is absolutely nowhere outside you can sit and eat with your pet with you. We were offered a very dark, hot, smelly kind of cabin with just lounge furniture in to sit a eat (opposite reception) not good. After a day of driving we did not want to go out again to eat, but we had to. And also we could not have the breakfast for the same reason. Maybe for some people this is not a problem, but if you choose to travel with your pet you think a dog friendly hotel would have better facilities.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: You can drive your car till your room and park it in there, it’s like a bungalow, which is very convenient if you don’t want to take your luggage off the car. Dogs are welcome
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Secure garage for the room. Hotel requested that they be advised in advance, so you need to state this in your information
Cons: Room dark, needs better lighting. No English channels BBC World on TV menu but it was Bloomberg. Walls painted yellow. White would improve ambience as floor is dark brown tiling.
7.5 Good
Pros: Your own parking garage next to your room. Typical spanish old hunters lodge style.
Cons: Rooms are a bit outdated, especially the beds.

Cons: Food is very basic although staff do their best to help you out.

Pros: Waitresses very very friendly and helpful
Cons: Walls are paper thin on top floor. So woken by ignorant Spanish women talking at top of their voices 7am. No wifi is a shame
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Booked this mainly for the view, which was superb, with a balcony facing directly onto the impressive castle. Parking right outside and a pleasant stroll into the interesting town. Comfortable beds, good air conditioning.
Cons: A sign at the bottom of the road leading up would be nice - we could see the hotel from below but we missed the turning.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view and comfortable beds. Restaurant full of friendly faces and delicious food. Do eat here! It’s like eating with a big family. So fun. The room was very comfortable with amazing views. Very happy we took a night to see this pretty place. Take the time to see the Alcazar and their beautiful cathedral.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very basic, but typically Spanish, so OK. Nice coffee. The WiFi was fast and seemed to cover the whole hotel.
Cons: The place needs some money spending on it; to be honest, it's a bit run down. But then so is the whole town. We had to drive for 14 Km to have a meal out
9.3 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Very modern and right next to the castle (with a view from the room). Large room with a large bathroom. Very clean. The property has a restaurant and bar with is convenient. Very quiet as we were on the top floor.
Cons: Terrible internet/wifi. We could only get in outside on the patio near the bar.

Pros: Lovely building in a central position. Good views and evening meal was excellent.
Cons: Both the interior and exterior of the hotel were impressive however colour scheme on interior walls was quite garish in places The swimming pool is small therefore did not use as it was mainly used by families while we were there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quaint, beautiful hotel in a quiet, picturesque little village. The staff was the friendliest I have met- EVER! The conversations with Julian were very informative amd interesting and the ladies in the restaurant - Isa and Loli (hope i got the names right) were so sweet and went out of their way to feed me when I told them I was vegetarian. All in all a wonderful stay. I only wish I had more than the one night I had booked there. I definitely recommend it.
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very hospitable hosts, beautiful view and great dinner inside the place. Overall very nice stay, must visit on the way from Madrid to Sevilla / Cordoba.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Place really nice, an old building with excelent facilities, the restaurant is amazing good, good selection of wines, local food and fish - hunting meat selection. The prices really good per quality - services. The village is wonderful, the castle for example. It´s a good start point to explore the region around, Ubeda - Baeza, the Natural Parks, ...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Julian, speaks wonderful English and is attentive in ensuring your stay was indeed perfect, he ensured we understood the menu etc, nothing was to much trouble for him The Food was amazing and typically Spanish, served by Isabel, from the bar who delivered delicious tapas as we enjoyed the much needed beer on our arrival. She was a true delight. The location is perfect with views to die for. The actual building is stunning and picture perfect
Cons: The owner made no attempt to be friendly or even to greet you in a manner you might expect, language was a problem but as simple Spanish speakers we can communicate and did so to greet him. His manner was similar to the Spanish guests He is lucky to have a staff that more than makes up for his lack of communication.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was my second stay at this hotel. I like the bar that is in the opposite building.
Cons: Neighbors from the next room came back at midnight and talked loudly.
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good staff . Comfortable bed hot shower, bathtub . Down 2 doors to friendly tapas bar with tasty huge tapas 2 for each drink ordered.
Cons: Linares has many one way streets and is difficult to navigate if you are late . There is nothing wrong with the hotel. The garage is hard to turn around in to get out . Reverse in to have a better exit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location, the value for the money, the restaurant in the lobby, the comfortable bed
Cons: The air conditioning did not work and it was hot in the room at night. I would not recommend staying here in the dead of summer.

Cons: The room has no sound proofing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and room clean and newly decorated bathroom. Bed comfortable and excellent shower.
Cons: Unfortunately our air conditioning had a fault and vibrated very loudly every 10 minutes or so - had to turn it off and open window overlooking noisy street!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and comfort
Cons: It was difficult getting in and out of their garage also the WiFi was not good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was in the hotel for a bicycle competition. The room was generously sized and we were allowed to take our bikes into the room. The water was hot and the shower powerful. The hotel has off the street indoor parking at an extra charge. The property has central heating in the rooms, which kept the room warm and was perfect for drying wet clothes (it rained the two days I was there).
Cons: It's not that I didn't like it, but the property is a little tired and old fashioned, however in some ways that counts in its favour. The car park is tight if you have a big car or SUV/ 4x4 to park.
