Pros: Lovely place and lovely people. Breakfast was excellent with the opportunity to taste local cheese
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious room. Lovely en suite and even had a fridge to keep drinks cold. The bread and choco pans were the best we have ever had in France. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant in the village was closed on Mondays so we had to drive a few minutes to Joinville.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is charming and has created a beautiful B & B in a delightful setting. Easy access from the motorway with good parking. The room was extra large, the bathroom also and the shower was the best I have ever experienced with no less than three options a drench, power spray head and six "massage" jets! Breakfast was "French plus" with fresh orange juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit and cheese to supplement the croissants and baguettes. All of this complemented with homemade mirabelle plum and cherry jams.
Cons: There is no evening meal offered and the only "restaurant" in the village served nothing but pizza. The choice of decent restaurants is in the nearest town a 15 minute drive away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location ,breakfast ,people.
Cons: Beautifull and superb accommodation

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and views. Fantastic restaurant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning place and location. So much better than the corporate hotels I am used to staying in. The staff could not have been more helpful. The location is quintessentially small French village. It may be off the main motorway network but the detour is well worth it.
Cons: The fact I only booked one day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just the most beautiful and idyllic location and building. From the welcome, to the fabulous restaurant meal (I'm a foodie but was still surprised, wowed and impressed by the quality and diversity of the food offering) to the charming home made breakfast, this was perfection. Incredible value and a rare find at this price. We had a memorable dining experience with charming fellow guests which lifted our spirits having suffered a family bereavement. We will definitely return when next in France.
Cons: Everything was perfect, you can't improve on perfection.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Location was very good.
Cons: Could have done with extraction in the Bathroom. Shower not maintained. No fridge for cooling drinks. No tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast you had to eat at the same table as every one else, not good.

Pros: Friendly host. Looked after us very well. Lovely breakfast with homemade jams. Nice outlook.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Chez Monique as a family of 5 as a stop over on way to the Alps for skiing and on return home. Both times the host was very helpful and met all of our needs. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. We had dinner one night, which i’d highly recommended as it was a delicious meal which was also good value for money. Thank you for a pleasurable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easily accessible and had lots of character. Our bedroom was very large with a very comfortable large bed. It was extremely clean and well appointed. Although there was an en-suite shower and wash basin, the toilet was two steps across the hall but it was only used by us, so that was not a problem. Monique was very charming and helpful giving information on the local area. We ordered breakfast which was very plentiful with delicious homemade preserves, croissants, fresh bread, cheese, yoghurts and fresh fruit. Parking is on the broad pavement at the edge of the canal and our car was perfectly safe there. The local area is very rural with lots of good walking and the Autumn colours were glorious. The church in Doulaincourt is worth a visit and during the centenary of WW1, it was very moving to read the history of the fallen, which was on display around the village. Closest town is Joinville, which has a few supermarkets, restaurants etc.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host was very nice and helpful
Cons: A bit far out of everything, maybe not a good basis to explore the region. But for us as a stay over on our way home it was perfect!

Pros: Lovely and comfortable, spacious. Very friendly and helpful. Fantastic outside area for dining with rattan lounge suite. Breakfast was delicious. A little off the beaten track but worth the drive. A welcome drink for the adults and soda for the kids! Delightful !
Cons: My wife and children struggled with the wifi speed. However wasn't a problem for me as I was happy to use 3G with good signal.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was blissful
Cons: As it was extreme temperatures air conditioning would have been fantastic but I suppose it rarely ever gets as hot as that !
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice location. Really great dinner. Expensive but really good.
Cons: The owner lady treated us like nobodies. Every question (can we have a coffee in the morning) was too much. The lady thought that she was funny and that she needed to treat guests like that. I think she has a very big ego.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The calmness, the art and the lake.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and very good restaurant
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting; great food.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was quiet and very relaxing. Great food, and nice accommodations.
Cons: It was unusually hot weather and on the first night I could not figure out a way to ventilate the room. Of course I could leave the glass door open to the cement porch but that seemed like a poor decision because animals, insects or people could get in. The only other things were I could not figure out how to operate the television and the internet worked intermittently.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite remote, however, the hotel is set in such a tranquil place with a beautiful lake leading to a lovely winding river. The restaurant was fantastic with a menu setting of four/five different choices, all reasonably priced & a wine list of so many choices, it is hard too choose one specific bottle! The hotel & restaurant staff were very friendly & knowledgeable about the food & wine being presented.
Cons: I cannot tho k of anything?
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We've reviewed the hotel before and it is one of our favourite stopovers. Comfortable rooms (although could be hot in summer) and excellent restaurant.
Cons: La Source Bleue - you need to find a new gardener! Add that little bit of sparkle back to the grounds around the hotel (and get rid of the old airbed in the garden - it's part its best!). A small amount of TLC to the grounds and it would be lovely again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Supper was delicious. Breakfast Good. Location very good.
Cons: Pity we couldn't see the last hour of the Wimbledom Mens Single Final.

9.5 Excellent

Cons: All good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very easy to find, with off road parking. Check in was easy and pleasant and was nice to be shown to my room, which was on the ground floor. There is a nice sized swimming pool, which is clean and well maintained. The bedroom was spacious and clean as was the bathroom, and it was very quiet at night. I ate in the restaurant in the evening, and as it was a warm evening, I eat in the garden. The service and food were excellent, with a good menu choice. There was a very good selection at breakfast, with very good coffee. I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rural setting, full of character and delightful food - perfect overnight stay
Cons: It was hot, a heatwave actually, so a fan in the room would have been appreciated
5.5 Okay
Pros: The room was quiet
Cons: The facilities were extremely basic. There were hundreds of flies in the restaurant getting all over the food - there was no effort made to minimise this. Whilst not the owners fault the smell of manure from neighbouring farms was overwhelming and really not pleasant at all,
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, wide choice, all fresh, lovely coffee.
Cons: Plug in bathroom sink needed attention as did shower head,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel in the beautiful peaceful village, specious rooms (great for families of 5), good restaurant in 5 min walk from the hotel. Very clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly! Great value for money!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated and furnished room with stunning bathroom and huge terrace on which we sat drinking wine and taking in the scenery, till very late! Separate breakfast room to which Michael, the owner, served us a delicious breakfast. Could not have asked for more!
Cons: Our stay was too short! Will stay longer next time
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Extra large bedroom with all necessary amenities. The very large balcony, a couple of sun loungers would be a nice addition.
Cons: The big dog.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Huge bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed only one night as we were en route from Geneva to Calais. The house was immaculately clean and really well decorated with antique furniture. The owner was really helpful - ringing up for us to see which restaurants were open for dinner and pointing out the best places to walk the dog. He provided tea and coffee in our room together soft drinks and some fruit and chocolates. A special rug was given to the dog, and our bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Nothing that we can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Michael was charming, hospitable and presented a scrumptious breakfast. The bedroom, as the rest of his home, was artistic and tasteful . Village itself had little to offer but the French restaurant at the end of the Main Street was full of warmth and good French food.

Cons: Internet connection.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good meals, superb environment, interesting location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historical building, our house had old thick walls, so even during the heat it didn't need an airco. Luxury, very comfortable beds, huge bathroom. Location is something special - right from our terrace we had access to a canal with some boats standing at the shore, it was such an ideal quiet morning! Our daughter particularly liked plenty of frogs in the ponds at the property. Joinville, a picture-perfect village, is just a couple of minutes drive. Perfect place for a stopover if you are travelling to the south or returning home.
Cons: Wi-fi in didn't work in our room. Breakfast didn't have a big choice, but mini croissants were excellent.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room and dinner was perfect
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service, excellent breakfast, very comfortable room (despite the flies and poor view), good food and service in the restaurant (the Michelin star was why we chose to stay there on our drive back from London to Geneva). Really lovely rolling countryside and a delight to be in Champagne just as the wine harvest began.
Cons: The view from the bedroom was really poor (outlook on to the gravel undercroft beneath the kitchen and the empty wine bottle store); the bathroom looked very nice but the roll-top bath with hand shower and no curtain was not practical. Lots of flies in the room. The tour de champignons menu was not the tour we'd expected (dominated mostly by chanterelles) and the replacement dish for the first course and the dessert were rather disappointing. Discovered a wonderful new champagne in the restaurant (but at more than three times its retail price - we bought some from the cave in Colombe le Sec the next morning).
10.0 Excellent
Cons: There wasn’t any hotel parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostellerie La Montagne is a first class restaurant, with beautiful rooms and superb staff, all set in a stunning location. The cost of the room is exceptional value, and the restaurant prices are completely justifiable, but not for the faint hearted. Spending time in the beautiful village and visiting the memorial and museum to General de Gaulle is an added bonus, Using the quiet N19 road between Troyes and Belfort makes this an ideal stop over as a special treat for those driving between the UK and Switzerland.
Cons: The car park is a short walk away, but you can park safely on the road outside.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food
Cons: Noises of restaurant above our room
7.5 Good
Pros: Restaurant excellent
Cons: Booking .Com rate was 20 euros more than the hotel rate.
6.8 Good
Pros: The dinner was beautifully prepared and delicious. The breakfasts were reasonable but choice of fresh fruit was limited and the orange juice was pasteurised and not freshly squeezed. The dining room was smart and there was an attractive terrace on which to eat and drink in fine weather.
Cons: Our bedroom. It was spacious and had probably been repainted in recent years. But the small bedroom window looked out on a covered area about 20 feet in depth where one could park one's car and only beyond this "garage" area could one catch a glimpse of sunlight and the countryside. Result - a very dark bedroom where it was necessary to use the electric light all the time. The w.c., opening off the bedroom did have a porthole window but the bathroom itself had no window and was equipped with old fitments e.g. a bath with legs and very high sides from which older people would have difficulty in getting out. Drawbacks probably reflected in the relatively modest price of the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, rural in an attractive village. Breakfast was average. The food, wine and service were all excellent. The rooms were comfortable with good sized beds.
Cons: The welcome on arrival was poor. There was a notable lack of a 'mine host' and there were no flowers of any description. Very poor Wi-fi connection.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After the TGV got cancelled we decided to drive to Paris. It turned out to be further than expected and we had to find a place to stay. We arrived late. The room was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was super friendly and asked if we would like to eat a little in their Michelin star restaurant. It was excellent.

Each bedroom had 3/4 beds but odd layout. Both had easy parking and near canal/train line to watch activity.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location and helpful reception. Pleasant restaurant.
Cons: The room was a little ‘tired’
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean hotel in good setting
Cons: We arrived around 3pm hotel was locked with a notice stating that due to the grape picking season starting, there would be no restaurant (dinner) facilities available to guests. We discovered that over 100 grape pickers were staying and eating in the hotel - hence no facilities for other guests! An advance warning of this would have been nice as we were travelling with a dog and only stay in hotels billed as dog friendly. With notice, we could have made other arrangements. They let us down badly. Bedroom was on the small side on this occasion with only a 3/4 size bed.
