Pros: Good beds and wonderful service.
Pros: wonderfully friendly welcome from staff who came out to our car to help and all staff were exceptional. Homely atmosphere all newly renovated to high standard, albeit simply furnished. very comfortable beds and great to have a walk in shower. Bar and restaurant were very good, large menu and we enjoyed our food (restaurant also popular with locals as there was a party going on when we arrived). I would recommend eating here rather than in the village in the evening as the standards and choices there are not fantastic. extra facilities like the ski hire shop made life easier instead of waiting in long queues in the village and also buying ski pass from reception - all make skiing a more pleasant experience.
Pros: -10 mins from the ski parking if there is no traffic -good friendly staff in a family like hotel -rooms designed in good taste in comparison to the Spanish horrendous design taste in that area -nice hotel restaurant, and ski room -comfy bed good size
Cons: -rooms are not sound proof at all both ways. if people pass by corridors you will hear, if you in toilet they will hear ... -i didn't expect it to be totally clean, but i got my bed sheets with other persons hair, which is not cool at all :\ for me, the room can be not so clean, but bed must be. -wi fi could have been better -no shuttle bus to ski resort
Pros: The staff were brilliant
Cons: Cold water but problem sorted
Pros: staff delightful, hotel refurbished simply but very comfortable. Restaurant cozy and wide choice on menu, all good on few occasions - popular with locals too
Pros: The rooms were really clean. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very pleasant.
Cons: Everything was good.
Cons: Very slow internet
Pros: Excellent breakfast of fresh fruit, freshly cooked scrambled eggs and bacon, ham and cheese and toast and jam, staff were very friendly and the place was spotless. We really enjoyed our stay and we will return.
Pros: Nice friendly family run business. Very helpful staff/ proprietor. Good food not expensive.
With a stay at Casa Veleta in Guejar Sierra, you'll be 5.8 mi (9.4 km) from Sierra Nevada Ski Resort and 14.3 mi (23 km) from Granada Exhibition and Conference Centre. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Casa Veleta is a charming place to stay. It is located on the northern flank of the Sierra Nevada mountains above the small town of Güejar Sierra. To be clear, this is not luxury accommodation, but the rooms are off a balcony with views across and down the Genil valley, overlooking Güejar and other towns in the direction of the city of Granada, fantastic in the evening as the sun drops. The room that I had was comfortable but basic with an en suite bathroom which had a hot shower and a comfortable bed. The hosts/ owners, Monica and Antonio are lovely people and were particularly helpful in my case as I had made a booking error which they resolved for me. Monica prepared a super evening meal, the bar was good and prices fair. Breakfast also was tasty and substantial, with good coffee.
Cons: I liked the property, the prices are very good. If you are after luxury then this may not be the place for you but given the price I paid I thought it good value for money and would recommend it to others.
Pros: Monica welcomed us very well!!! The structure is very pretty, warm, clean and familiar.
Cons: We liked everything
Pros: Great location. A beautiful view. Very close to wonderful hiking trails. Clean linens and a welcoming host.
Cons: We found a spider in the bathroom of one of our three rooms and a cricket in another. One of our party complained about being cold in their room (in June). One of our party of 7 ran out of hot water.
Pros: The beer is cheap, we get some tapas free to ordered drinks and the host is very nice. The view is very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay there.
Pros: The owners are warm and friendly! The room was clean and warm. Very good value for money.
Pros: The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The bar area has a lovely big fire burning always and she does nice home cooked food. A very convivial area to sit and relax. We were very cramped in the room for six so the lady offered us her new 'container' room which is new and nice. She only charged us for the electricity as the room is still 'work in progress'.
Cons: The room for 6 was not what expected. Very good value but 3 bunk beds in a small room with a small bathroom. It was rather cramped and the noise passes from one room to another.
Pros: My wife and I went on a 2 week road trip from Bucharest to Cadiz. Every evening we'd look for something with good reviews and book the first thing we liked that was within range of where we were. This place was the highlight of our trip! The view from the room was amazing! The whole place had the feel of a proper mountain chalet. I think the high altitude air was great for how we slept that night! Last but not least Monica, the manager, the cook, the jack-of-all-trades of Casa Veleta, is an amazing woman who will go out of her way to feed you and make sure you have everything you need. We were well fed, well rested and plan to come again.
Cons: I wish we could have stayed more! :) While it was not a problem for us, other travellers might be interested to know that there is an exterior metal staircase leading down to the level of the rooms. It's just one story but you should be prepared to carry your luggage not just drag it. It's clearly visible in the main picture of the property.
Pros: Monica is delightful . A joy! Love the whole experience . It’s a must!
Pros: Superb view, excetionally friendly host, very easy and quick check-in
Cons: A bit dated rooms (in busier times could be noisy), very simple breakfast (‘tostada jamon’ was a cooked ham and not the delicious dried spanish ham I hoped for),
Pros: Monika is a fantastic host she advised us on cultural activities and cooked up some great food. She was warm and bubbly nd got up at the crack of dawn to prepre our breakfast. Great cosy rooms and convenient location.

Pros: Location is closed to Sierra Nevada.
Cons: It was very cold inside. It was impossible to go to the bathroom because of the cold there.
Pros: Decent location for visit to sierra nevada and granada
Cons: Ww stayed here on a stop over for one night. The room was freezing, the windows rattled in the cold and the heating was in a timer meaning it was freezing during the night. Not good with 3 children. For the same price we had a superb hotel in granada.
Pros: The owners at Penion El Desvio were really attentive and friendly. The position is great being very close to the information centre, sky field area and beautiful views. The food was great particularly breakfast with home juiced orange juice and generous serves . One of our group has disability and Anna went out of her way to ensure she was comfortable.
Pros: Very good value food
Cons: The bathroom has no heating
Pros: Location, cleanliness, free parking
Cons: room was cold noise - rooms are right above the kitchen/restaurant. also dogs which belong to facility were barking a lot right under the window.
Pros: Nice and friendly staff, clean room, okay breakfast. Close to Sierra Nevada ski area
Pros: Great location, very nice view, very nice stuff
