Bed was very comfortable and clean. Great to have a fridge and microwave. TV was a great size. I don't like when the cleaning service knocks on my door 2 hours before checkout.
The fact that the hotel was close to Great America
Very reasonable price. Friendly staff, comfy beds, great breakfast! Nothing.
Over all was a good stay it was only over night stay clean place good staff close to the mall as well as other business and restaurants Didn't like the fact majority of parking is for diamond members also the beds where extremely uncomfortable as well as pillows also the vent in the restroom went non stop and was loud either than that over all good stay
The title says it all. We are a family of Type-A neat freaks, and my mother sent my sister and I with her black light equipment to check the cleanliness of the room. There were some small spots here and there near the bathroom (weird spots that may get overlooked for cleaning like the ceiling and a light switch), but not anywhere in the sleeping section of the room. Sheets, pillows, and comforters were spotless. The cleanliness and general upkeep of the rooms made for a very comfy stay- we could hardly get out of bed to do more exploring the next day. I only stayed in this hotel for one night, so I may not have experienced as much as I could. The lady at the front desk could have been a little more friendly and personable, but the rest of the staff was very nice.
clean and friendly service
Breakfast was free & the rooms were clean They pool was outside.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable after a long day of traveling with an infant. I really liked that if you forgot or couldn't pack an amenity like a razor, you could go down to the front desk and ask for a complimentary one. The location is great too, not far from all the attractions in the area. I also appreciated that check out was at noon. That we couldn't stay longer, haha.
The Front Desk worker was very nice and helpful. The AC in the room was not able to get the temperature below what felt like 79, and the bed was not very comfortable.
I was only there one night Where to start? The couch had two gigantic, greasy butt stains on each cushion. Everything felt damp Charged twice for room and still trying to resolve it Deadbolt didn't lock
Very clean hotel room. Staff was very friendly. Complimentary breakfast was great. It's conveniently located near Gurnee Mills Mall. There are many stores to shop and eat at along Grand Avenue. Six Flags is a short walk from hotel less then 1/2 mile (no need to drive to the amusement park so you can save on the high parking fee). I wish the swimming pool was bigger. Hot tub was non-functional.
Close to where we had to be during day Breakfast area way too crowded! One door entry like a fire hazard
Close to Great America The elevator has an EXPIRED safety inspection certification! The sofa in my room (211) had what appeared to be blood stains on it. The room across the hall kept me up all night (small children being load.. At 3am!) and the vending machines didn't work (ate my money).
Location was good in relation to Gurnee Mills. Facilities overall were rather poor, with badly outdated furniture and a generally run-down appearance in the room we were given. The pool was very small and there was almost no room around the pool for sitting. The only mirrors in the room were in the bathroom and the room itself was very small. There was also a booger stuck on the wall just below the bathroom mirror - nasty. If your standards are above what you've read here, do yourself a favor and pony up a little extra money for a better hotel.
Front desk mellisa and Angela are amazing people and. Wet very helpful I really recommend this hotel
Room was a little dated but had the important stuff necessary for a quick stay. Check in was really easy, let us check in early and pick up the room key later in the day. FREE parking within 15 minute walk to the amusement park. No coffee maker in the room and the free breakfast was a total joke. Juice, coffee, cheese danish, and bread for toast was all that was offered. Looked like bananas might have been out at some point but didn't have any left when we got to it. One ice machine available in the basement also.
They were there when I needed somethings Washcloths wasn't that clean.
Beds were comfortable. Decor was very dated and worn.
The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The remainder of the hotel appeared clean as well the room did have a small hole in the wall up near the ceiling and what appeared to be a motion detector in the corner of the wall which I thought was odd. also kept tripping over a large wrinkle in the carpet that went almost the full length of the room. The air conditioning didn't work very well, kept adjusting the temperature on the thermostat but never cooled the room to the lower setting I had put it on. Lack of parking, we parked in what we thought was part of the hotels parking lot, but were left a note on our vehicle saying no overnight parking or it would be towed. I think the hotel should have informed me where I could or couldn't park when I checked in. There were no available parking spots in what IS the hotel parking lot, so I didn't have a choice but park where I did the first night of my stay.
Close to Six Flags where we were going each day. The room smelled awful. We had to plunge the toilet 3 times in 2 days. The furniture was so broken down. The recliner in the room wasn't even something we could sit in. The free breakfast was very minimal in choices. If all you want to do is go in your room, sleep, then wake up and leave the lower cost is worth it. Otherwise I would go somewhere else. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. We won't be returning.
The memory foam mattress. The staffers very rude, the building, maintenance
First of all, finding the hotel is impossible. There are no signs outside that day Super 8. The hotel is called The Grand Hotel, but don't be fooled by that name, it's far from Grand. The room was very small with VERY old furniture. If it weren't for the flat screen TV I would have thought I had been transported back to the 1950s. The room was probably vacuumed and dusted but it still had the feel as if it wasn't clean. I can't say that it e was a dirty room either. I did decide to stay since I got in late, but I wish I would have spent $20 more for a nicer room elsewhere, Just not worth the money.
Nothing fancy, just a clean, comfortable room at a really good price. A little old and needed a few repairs here and there.
