Very attentive reastaurant staff
sea view from room, quiet location
It is on the beach and in the summer the water is warm
Quiet I just stayed 1 night, and I didn't use other facilities than the room and breakfast
Excellent location with the sea views. The staff were very helpful, polite and hospitable.
Hotel has great views of Arhus bay. The hotel is undergoing significant building work currently, which did not affect my stay directly however some rooms in the hotel are located on the corridor now being used as the hotel entrance.
Great location and good facilities. Hotel is currently undergoing development and therefore a significant amount of building work noise can be heard from within the hotel (some areas) including hotel rooms. Building works start from approx. 08.00 so I would have been annoyed if I were a leisure traveller as building noise can be heard from some rooms. There is also no mention of this on any of the websites I reviewed inclusing the Helnan groups' site.
Location and view from the room
A beautiful hotel with a million dollar view. The location of the hotel on the shores of the Kattengat cannot be topped. A minor inconvience: the breakfast room was closed and breakfast was served in a business meeting room. However, the fare was fine.
the seaside, and near the city the pool was very small, the exessising room was hot and small, the prices from this agency was 1500 kr moor than the hotels own prices, i rekomend all to always phone the hotel before rese.
The staff was very helpfull, and there was a good atmosphere. It was a bit cold in the restaurant.
Close distance to city centre/music hall, Nice breakfast I like it, Free internet without time limitation. Too expensive prices :-)
The friendliness of the staff Nothing
excellent staff and central but peaceful location no issues
We booked for 2, checked in for 2, but room only had a blanket big enough for one and 1 towel. Upon checkout, they said we have to ask for more than one person. TV is locked so you can't play video via HDMI. I can't imagine why this hotel won an award as it is the worst for the money in Denmark.
The location of the hotel is very good, good parking facilities There should be a room for kids with video games and other toys
Staff were extremely friendly, couldn't do enough to help. Location was excellent, easy walking to the town. Bed the most comfortable I have ever slept in
The room was very comfortable and spacious. Good parking facilities although it was a bit expensive .Well situated very close to the city centre. Parking was a bit expensive.
Friendly staff, good restaurant and nice rooms.
Staff was friendly, took care of my requests for taxis immediately, provided information on the downtown area for a walk. Staff was professional and available.
Helpful staff and good location. The hotel rooms are also very quiet. A bit of a queue at check out. Breakfast expensive.
Recognised immediately on arrival.High room on 8th floor away from traffic noise. Spectacular views. No
Excellent central location with stunning view over harbour from balcony. Balcony also a useful refuge for smokers - a good solution, suggested by check-in clerk, in a non-smoking hotel. Free wi-fi worked as advertised in the room. Free ho drinks day and night from vending machine in in lobby. Good breakfast buffet on top floor. Free parking for guests. Everything's dear in Denmark, but this was good value for money.
Breakfast was good, mostly organic food. The hotel is located at a busy intersection. It's very noisy even at night, and on a warm day you don't want to close the window since there is no air condition in the room.
Nice restaurant although the menu choice was rather limited A little noisy due to location
Breakfast was OK and nice and friendly staff working here Dirty Room / Bathroom & shower really need a renovation
location, facilities (tea/coffee/drinks available). Ensuite very badly designed; it was both inconvenient and unsafe. At the least they should put in a non-slip floor coating.
The view in the breakfast room Service staff trying to cleanup when you are in the breakfast room. Slow elevators. Small bathroom. No closed clauset. No safe in the room.
The location, close to city centre was good. So, we could walk to city centre. Internet/WiFi access included in room rate was highly appreciated, especially by my to elder boys. Pure breakfast (e.g. no fruits) in a almost dark room. Seams they want to safe money for electricity. Many tables not cleaned from previous guests due to insufficient staff. The elevator looks like a service elevator. Actually when I check in I walked back to the front desk and asked where the guests elevators are. In addition at breakfast time it's difficult to get an elevator staying at 7th floor (half up). Therefore we walked to breakfast at ground floor. If I had written the customer feedbacks on your web side more carefully I would have picked it up.
Very convenient for ferry to Denmark Great amount of street noise during night.
Very helpful desk staff excellent view from room a second pillow would have been nice.
When checking in I was not advised that the room allocated was over the street alongside the canal and was very noisy at night. If that had been I would have selected one overlooking the court yard
When you enter the lobby of the hotel it is very modern. We only noticed that the reason the hotel is called the Cab Inn because the rooms are exactly like the Cab-in in a boat. Very central which was perfect for us. Underneath was a lovely resturaunt overlooking the river banks, very nice. The breakfast was great, so fresh and worth every penny. It was continental. The beds were a small but extremly comfortable. We only stayed for 2 nights and we were young visiting friends. However if we stayed for longer the room was not very spacious. We only usd it for sleeping and that wasnt much.
easy to use and clean! noise from other rooms at night wasn't so great
It is very centrally located, close to the central station and the main tourist attractions, as well as restaurants and bars. The rooms are very small. Even the beds were quite small for someone of average height and build like me. The bathroom is extraordinarily small, with the shower water flooding the entire bathroom floor. No mini-bar or other accessories except for a pouch of shampoo and a small soap bar.
Very well sitiuated, everything worked as I expected, but in addition the staff were very helpful, looking up travel information on the internet for me.
I liked the central location .The cleanliness of the rooms. The quietness of the hotel Ididnt like that there was no mirrors in the room only bathroom
we found the staff to be helpful, we speak only english and they could speak english.
The location being near the restaurants and shops The size of the room--I asked for a "complimentary once only" upgrade to try the bigger rooms for future business trips--none was forth coming. Now none the wiser.
Good situation and nice staff Rooms are somewhat small and beds too.
Breakfast Two single beds pushed together to make the double I booked
The gent on reception was fabulous. The hotel was spotless. The suite was excellant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Outstanding rooms and location. Problems with their television system.
Truly elegant and comfortable with interesting original artwork throughout.
breakfast at the room the restaurant was not like the standard of the rest of the hotel
Location, style and service Toilet seat bolts must be tightened. It was not corrected during our stay.
The location, the room & the hotel's decorum were excellent and worth the cost. The quality of coffee for breakfast (espresso and capuccino 'made to order' and charged separately) was awful. The best hotel in Aarhus should be able to fix that easily, no?
The very welcoming staff and the fabulous decor throughout, positively regal but also comfortable and interesting. Our room was beautiful, very comfortable and furnished with antiques or very good copies. We appreciated the nice range of hot drinks and a TV with more than CNN in English so we could have a very relaxing evening in, after we had eaten out. This was aided by the arm chairs and foot rests.! The position of the hotel is excellent, close to shops, museums and the canal side restaurants. We subsequently stayed for 2 nights in the local Radisson which was modern but also comfortable and has to be given points for the variety in its breakfast over that supplied by the Royal which was fine but certainly not as memorable as its other superb features
VEry comfortable hotel. Combines traditional and modern style very well
excelent,but not for hadicap
Location location location and very friendly staff Beds nice but rolled away from each other at night no truly a double bed since it was two single next to each other
Excellent customer service by the receptions staff. Very friendly, very helpful and clearly seeking to represent the hotel strongly. Spoke briefly to the owner too, and was impressed all round. The MASH restaurant next door (entry via hotel) is near to the best specialist steak restaurant that I have ever been to anywhere in the world. Though a separate business to the hotel, it is a great asset to the hotel. A businessman's steakhouse. My single room was very clean and well appointed, including with internet access, but a little austere. It would have been great to have a little added touch like a vase of flowers, a kettle and complimentary coffee, or a bowl of fruit - something to add to the friendliness of the room.
Very clean, recently refurbished in my judgment, superb shower room, comfortable beds. Very good buffet breakfast No coffee facilities in the room, no room service. The restaurant was closed while we stayed, a temporary measure i expect.
Good sense of service of the staffs of the hotel front.Well trained and knowledgeable. Easy morning-call system instructed in English may be necessary.
Breakfast was very good. Noise during night from back yard.
The bed and the cover - it was really great! I would have liked a bathtub
Free wireless available in the room. When you have a non-smoking room, the hotel is fine. Breakfast is good. The hotel has many smoking rooms, and stating you like a non-smoking room on the booking.com form, is apparently not a reason to give you a non-smoking room. I received a smoking room and was not told so, and when trying to sleep I had troubles getting into sleep because of the disgusting smell. At first nothing was possible, without extra pay. However, when really annoyed and complaining suddenly the rest of the night I could spent elsewhere in the hotel, but I did lose some valuable hours of nightrest.
Excellent friendly staff
well positioned for visiting the city the room was very small, as well as the bed. breackfast quite "simple"..., parking not included,
Free parking at the other side of the road.
the bed I missed a restaurant and bar
It was close to the railway station and thus easy to get to the airport, centrally situated close to restaurants and close to the business we were attending
Nice desinged quiet hotel. Has it own parking. Nothing super super but very good money for value.
The rooms are bright and delicately furnished and the Hästen beds very comfortable. The breakfast is also very good The rooms facing the railway line, are a bit noisy
Good breakfast, helpful staff. Great beds. Price - too expensive for what you get.
Everything was so nice!Starting from the courtyard to the cozy rooms...the wine was excellent and also the breakfast was very good. The staff was so nice and friendly at us!We will reccomend this hotel and we will come back for sure!
Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable well presented room, with good facilities. Overall very relaxing and pleasant. Nothing
The room The breakfast is not buffet. Everyday the same food.
Good location. Shower curtain very small resulting in a wet bathroom.
The hotel has a great ambience and is situated in th eheart of Aarhus The heating in the annex rooms is a little marginal in winter
Well maintained, clean facilities. Polite, efficient staff. Breakfast was excellent. Location is ideal for visiting Aarhus city centre. Would stay here again. French styling is a little too basic for my taste, but the style was well implemented and very clean.
The breakfasts were wonderful and the furnishings throughout very nice.
i had a really good time in this hotel. i love their flim posters decoration in the bedroom and the wines in the reception room. staff are warm and lovely, even the cleaner maiden is a beauty.
Beautiful relaxing decor and cleanliness. Everything No bad points
The little "extra" at breakfast: Freshly squeezed juice, fresh fruit. The location: Very central. The size of the hotel: Small.
it was easy to find no food available at all at night - no sandwich nothing except the bar-and no amenities in the room - soap etc
Friendly staff, good/healthy breakfast No tea/coffee in the room, since it was too hot and had white curtains, would have been nicer if there was a room fan and some darfk curtains.
Excellant staff and always willing to help. All spoke brilliant English. The restaurant only stays open until 20:00 and there is no room service available. After 11hrs travelling by car this meant that we had to go out to find food and not relax in the hotel.
Comfort, location Security/safety-regulations too strict, not easy to get in and out of hotel, had to wake up staff.
Absolutly nothing beyond the helpful staff. Room was dirty, bed was awful, lack of parking...AND When I booked the place it was availabile and then 30min before my flight I happen to check my email to find out my room had been cancelled because they didn't have space for me and a reservation made at another hotel. I arrive at the other hotel at midnight to discover that the hotel had managed to find a room for me and had cancelled this one so I had to get back in the car and travel across town to what turned out to be a dump. The resesrvation had my phone number but there was no attempt to contact me. Avoid this place at all costs!
The hotel was clean and fresh with really nice decor and large comfy rooms. Its the only hotel in Denmark I found that wasn't decorated like 1970's style. The staff were helpful, even when I called reception because I could here the music from the nightclub in the basement they were apologetic and got the music turned down so I couldn't hear it within a minute. I would definitely go back. The restaurant is supposed to be open on a thursday eveni9ng but it wasn't. It is a 10 minute walk to the restaurants in town which normally isn't a problem but when it is pouring with rain and you are tired after a long days work it was an inconvenience. It would've been nice if they'd let me know that at check in. But everything else was wonderful.
Nice staff, very comfortable room in the quiet of the countryside, very nicely located, excellent breakfast
It was brand new, clearn and easy to find. The staff was super.
Nice location, but too far away from Aarhus. Clean, recently revamped, excellent breakfast and restaurant, polite staff, big free parking, high speed free internet. Narrow single beds. The heating was very mild, could not warm up the room according to my need. The morning and afternoon traffic in and out of Aarhus is horrific.
The service, they could help me with food for example ( I have a gluten intolerance)
Hotel was exceptional and staff really nice.
Great rural resort with excellent kitchen. Billiard, even a bit too used, is a good recreation, library on different languages and on various subjects
Lovely and quiet. Very nice roomy hotel.
A comfortable and relaxing environment, very nice. We had two kids but also two dogs and the family room was big enough for us all. A big garden at the back to walk the dogs and for the kids to play around!!!
Nice big comfortable bathroom, water kettle for coffee/tea preparation. Comfortable, clean room, big armchair. Breakfast with fresh orange juice always pleasant. Good breakfast with enough choices. "Coffee to go" available at breakfast. Pleasant staff. Calm area, noise proof rooms. Nice hotel to go to if you want to be near Aarhus city area - preferably by car. A bit softer beds but still pleasant. Internet could be faster.
Rooms were new and well designed. Bathroom design was very good. Nice walk in shower and separate bath. Free Internet. Nice Breakfast. Enjoyed the fresh orange machine.
Very old decor. Wifi not working.
It was well located for me, fair service and reasonable price the room was very small, too cold, maintenance not very good, breakfast- pretty poor, thin walls..
the breakfast ladies everything about the hotel is run-down. In our room there was a lamp broken, the night stand was filthy, the curtains needed replacing (and properly fitted), the door handle was broken, the double room was two beds placed after each other, not next to each other, so we had to place the mattresses on the floor to sleep next to each other - 895 DKK a night to go camping - that's just preposterous!
Location Bed with bed comfort. Blanket too heavy and warm.No aircon.Overpriced.
Chosen the hotel for the location. Lady at the desk was very gentle at check-in and check-out Room was very basic. Breakfast room not very nice
Being able to use the computer to re-book our flights( due to being cancelled ,due to the Icelandic volcano.) Long breakfast hours. The helpfulness of all the staff on reception desk. The fact it was right by the bus route into the city with regular buses all day. The doors to the rooms made a lot of noise when being closed from the outside. This led to being woken up during the night and in the morning.
Excellent breakfast and friendly atmosphere
reception staff old equipment - furniture, bathroom
Good place when travelling with dogs, all dog owners were located in to same floor. Reception personell was very friendly. There were no airconditioning in the room, and hotel restaurant was closed on Friday evening when we arrived, and there was no possibilities to have dinner near by.
Nice people and good service. Nice view from the window I had to good outside to get into the restaurant
Staff were very helpful. Room was excellent particularly for a family as it was 2 separate rooms and a sitting area. Internet access was free which is always a bonus. We ate one night at the restaurant and the food was excellent - one of the best we ate in Europe. The hotel was a bit noisy early in the morning as it was right on the canal but the hotel provided ear plugs. Would have liked a separate small bottle of conditioner as well as the shampoo because now with travelling taking liquids is difficult
Hotel & Brasserie Ferdinand was an appartment hotel which offers all amenities necessary for a sort of pied-a-terre experience: you can cook your own meal, wash and dry your clothes etc. The staff was friendly, the service was good and the rooms were very spacious. It's not a typical hotel experience, but generally it will convenience most needs for a simple fuss free stay. There's a nightclub right across the street which can get noisy even on weekdays. The hotel is quite lovely, however it's a bit pricey for what it offers service-wise. Still, the rooms are very spacious and perhaps for some this justifies the price.
very good option for Arhus, with a large suite for the price of a small room in other hotels. Strange smell in the bathroom though, not clean enough. brasserie Ferdinand is a good restaurant
Big room - nice restaurant..... The room had a bad smell, most likely from the kitchen even though it was on the top floor. The windows had to be open during the whole stay and it was freezing.
The resturant was awesome for dinner. Rooms are great. Noisy street life in the weekends but you can shut the doors and block most out. Breakfast was basic but ok.
The breakfast - a wonderful range of muesli, fruit and breads Very pleasant and helpful staff No lift. Small rooms
Quiet location, good breakfast buffet selection Service at breakfast was slow and the dining area quite crowded. The crockery was chipped and cups were stained and had handles missing. Chipped crockery is not very hygeinic.
cosy atmosphere bed too soft
The excellent organic breakfast, organic products in bathroom.
Cosy feeling No elevator to get to 3rd floor room. Very steep and narrow staircase.
the room was adorable, service was charming, breakfast was very good
The location of this hotel is superb. Easy-accessed to the city center by feet. Many beautiful and interesting boutiques on the same street where the hotel located. Breakast is also good, tasty and healthy. Our room is rather small and dark.
Good service, the hotel is open during all hours - which was good since I got there very late.
No hussle, basic hotel Location in the middle of nowhere on a fenced perimeter. Expensive to quality & location
not too far from city centre. free parking space. decent breakfast. handy small gym and sauna in the price. helpful staff. not walking distance to centre. room was fairly cold during the nights. poor internet speeds. inclined toilet in the room. compared to three other hotels I've stayed in during my trips to Aarhus, I would clasify it as the last. some renovation is required.
Located close to the highway Especially the restaurant was bad. The high price and poor quality for the warmed up food was in no relation.
Too far from the center of the town. There is a little play zone for the children
The breakfast buffet is good in quality and quantity. Wireless Internet is free. The room is smelly. You need a car to get to the center conveniently. Prices in hotel are high. Moquette floors. Essential room, like some french chains, no soap or other accessories, no carpet out from the shower.
ok, for overnight stay, good breakfast and internet
Restaurant Price compared to other hotels with same comfort to high
The quality and the choice of the breakfast, the quality of the staff. Connection internet wifi defective.
no shuttle bus to airport
Clean & location
