The room was very large and comfortable and was quite elegant. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The receptionist, Elizabeth, was kind and understanding when we reported we had a slight accident which caused a red wine stain on the duvet! The hotel manager was very helpful when we had a problem with dialing out from the room's telephone. The buffet breakfast was great with good service and included eggs cooked to your liking.
This is just a wonderful family run hotel. Warm welcome. Attention to detail is more than obvious. The hotel and rooms are meticulous in all aspects. We ate at the hotel's restaurant and it is nothing less than a 1 star michelin in our opinion Fantastic. Also to be enjoyed is the wine shop in the hotel, which is owned by the owner's brother. We bought a bottle upon arrival and also enjoyed a really nice First Spring with our delicious meal. The bottom line: Quality/Price is fantastic.
The staff and particularly the management were extremely helpful and friendly. Any request was dealt with immediately and efficiently. - Breakfast: all eggs etc were prepared fresh on demand.
It was difficult to check in at midnight
Lovely location within a gorgeous town. Paid extra for a garage which was good and secure. Staff very courteous and helpful. All round nice place to stay.
we had a very large and clean family room, we loved everything about the hotel. The staff were helpful and courteous, breakfast was pleasant and relaxed and the hotel's restaurant was excellent. There's a lovely courtyard for sitting out and the town's shops are all within easy walking distance. Our room on the top floor was quite warm (flat roof, window shutters were down, we could open the windows but still) after a warm summer's day. There was no airco or fan.
Very good value for money, nice staff, gourmet restaurant across the street I think that everything was pretty good, maybe only in the restaurant - they could have an English menu, too... and smile is nothing forbidden... nevertheless the meals were excellent!
Pretty well everything. The welcome was personal and helpful; the food was excellent, the room well appointed and spacious, the staff friendly and helpful. Nothing
The service of the staff was simply outstanding, very accomodating. The breakfast offerings had been excellent too.
Nice clean big room, excellent view from the terrace Not the best variety of food for breakfast. Although on the booking page was said that the total room price was 89 euros, in the end we were charged 5 euros per person for breakfast. This should have been stated more clearly in the booking process.
There is a large outdoor area for dining or for talking a walk. The rooms are well equiped and clean. Breakfast was fine and we could have it outside (although we had to ask first). Good for a one night stop-over, very near the A3. A part of the hotel has been renovated. We had two rooms, one in the renovated part and one in the old part. The rooms in the newer part are much, much nicer. The older part is fine, but very old-fasioned with brown toilet and a small shower for example. I'd have prefered the large "rain" shower and the larger bed, that have been installed in the the new part. One more thing: there was sand in the salad. We were given a new salad and again there was sand in it!
We used this hotel as a stop over on the way to Italy from the uk. It was very convinently located just off the a3. The hotel was clean although the bathroom needed updating. Very few of the staff spoke english. The restaurant food was very nice, although when we asked for a menu in english we received a scrap of a4 paper instead of the german menu translated into english, so the choice was very limited ( In the end we simply pointed to a dish another customer was eating and asked for two of them). However I could not recommend this hotel for two reasons. It was about 35degrees and there was no air conditioning so the room was sweltering, and the they played very loud music until at least 11.30pm, which prevented us getting to sleep.
The hotel is very conveniently located near to a motorway junction and therefore makes a good overnight stop There was considerable traffic noise from the adjacent motorway; it was necessary to keep the bedroom window open because there is no air conditioning in the room.
great hotel with nice rooms and very friendly staff. Perfect location, close to the highway and plenty of 'history" everywhere around. Good food too! hotel needs to update internet accessibility
Excellent location for anyone driving from UK to Czech Republic or further. The hotel family room comfortably accommodated our family of five. I would definitely choose this hotel on our future travel. More choices of menu translated into English please.
It was evident that this hotel was run by the family, the whole ambience was one of care and excellence combined with absolute value for money. No
Good throughput and high signal for WLAN.
unexplecated value for money and location also both evening and breakfast meals V good. music and outside noise from the U30 party on Sat/Sun
Lovely location, excellent quality room, friendly staff, and a good breakfast
Cleanliness, atmosphere, playground, breakfast, staff, .... were all excellent. Nothing
The hotel is very pleasent, with wonderful location, wonderful view, nice rooms, beautiful breakfast room, and perfect area. you realy feel like staying in a luxury hotel, with great atmosphere. The curtains in the room, were too small, so it didn't dark the room in a good way. they use to clean the rooms, only around 13:00-14:00, and the breakfast was good but not excellent.
The view from our room was great, the weather was very nice, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Enjoyed the nature path with all the trees and shrubs labeled. Landscaping was nice, and lots of recreational things to do. Our bathroom was a little small. Would have liked a fan available as it was kinda hot during the day, and hard to sleep at night without air flow.
Beautiful location, very nice staff, very clean, calm, quiet.
It is a lovely hotel in a lovely town in Germany...worth making the trip off the beaten path to Lohr am Main, Germany!!
The owner/staff are very friendly and very helpful.
Nice hotel for a good price. Food is good and not expensive, as is the internet. I already visited this hotel for the 4th time.
you can't call it fitness room for just a cyclette and a tapis-roulant!
Very friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Excellent sauna facilities.
Excellent restaurant, the waitress was very friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is situated close to the castle, nice quiet location. Our room (superior double) was quite small and the furnishings rather dated. The carpet was not so clean.
The hotel was a fabulous facility, it was spacious and had a sense of culture and sophistication. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. I look forward to staying there again for a longer period.
the hotel is situated in a wounderfoul area. The hotel is cleaned and the room are spacious. OK breackfast and restuarant. The price correspond to the hotel level. I suggest it.
Nice little familie hotel, friendly staff. The suite could use a minibar.
Very nice rooms; clean, modern, stylish. Large comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom with great sized shower cubicle and excellent shower. Good priovision of towels. Restaurant resonably priced, good basic food, generous portions. Good breakfast with extensive choice. Good offer on the family room at the time I booked making it very ecconomical for the quality of room and a good location en route for us between Austria and Belgium. Nice places of interest close by, including castles and much forrest. There was no welcome at the hotel. No information was offered such as directions to our room, breakfast etc. Rushed for last order of dinner on arrival@8pm. Waitresses were curt & rude. We apologised for not having much German language between us but waitresses made no reciprocal effort to communicate at all, even when asked to help us understand the menu. Our meals were almost thrown at us with no courtesy. 25euros of drinks that we did not have were added to our bill and there was no apology offered by the seniour waitress responsible and present at checkout, just a shrug of the shoulders. I felt discriminated against for being British and extremely uncomfortable/apologetic for being there. The staff made this hotel inhospitable.
Room very comfortable and very good food. None
I chose this hotel as an overnigh stop the staff were helpfull and we managed to get around the language with the help of helleena that may not be the correct way to spell her name she most helpfull. We ate in the hotel ine the evening and the food was reasonable priced, good value and wellpresented, excelent. Would be an advantage to have air conditioning.
The Hotel was of an excellent standard, we were English visitors and we found the staff very helpful, with regard to meal selection from the menu, the meals were excellent and the rooms were also of an excellent standard. I would certainly recommend this Hotel.
The hotel is situated in a pretty part of Germany, where there are several nature walks. It is extremely close to the motorway, which is good for breaking a journey. There is a garden and a terrace bar, which would be pleasant in summer, but it wasn't open in September, and it was too cold to sit in the garden The staff were not very efficient, no one in reception, slow service in the restaurant ( I do speak German ), menu limited, room v. cold, breakfast not served at the time they told us. Nothing terrible, just not as nice as I'd hoped!
excellent location, excellent breakfast, excellent value for money
Quiet atmosphere, clean room, excellent food, good hospitality, nice exterior, big sunny terrace, big parking space No
Excellent location in a rural setting but close to the A3 made it an ideal overnight venue.
Beer in a bar
This was our first night stop in Germany. Outside Wurzberg, the hotel is in the country and very clean and quiet. The Food was excellent. We didnt get in until 9pm and they fixed us a full dinner. The room was huge by normal standards. The staff was very helpful.
There was mentioned at booking.com that there is free /Wi-Fi internet at he hotel. In the reality - not and it was a real probelm.
The room was fresh and clean and very inviting. It is situated beside a busy intersection. Rather noisy with traffic
staff, and town people very nive
Comfortable beds and clean bathroom. Great breakfast!
Rooms were clean and looked like recently renovated. one of best breakfasts we had during our trip Parking was in remote location.
Staff was very nice, breakfast super, very nice inner garden The hotel was nice, but I find the price a bit too hight. No elevator
Great place for a short stop, friendly and clean with ample facilities to make you feel very welcome.
Food and location Poor secure parking facilities for motorcycles
Very pleasant spacious room and good bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Friendly proprietor. Hotel was closed on arrival at 4.00pm had to telephone. Restaurant and bar closed as it was the "rest day".
The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly. Room was very nice and clean.
everthing was fine food good
An excellent hotel. The food is excellent and the Russ wiess beer is to be reccomended
I like very much food of the restaurant... The bath it's poor ventilated
Clean and comfortable room. Resturant below with good food. Close to Mespelbrunn schools.
Friendliness of staff, location
I really enjoyed my stay, the service was excellent, the staff highly professional and kind.
It was a good place for a stopover on the journey back to England though the instructions to get it were slightly misleading and it' not actually in Mespelbrunn village. The manager /owner was very receptive to the idea of an additional element for breakfast - nuts and seeds for the cereal. The breakfast was nevertheless pretty good. The restaurant was closed on a Monday so I went to the Engel in Mespelbrunn ( a 5 minute drive and about the only place open )and ate well, if a little expensively.
