Excellent service, friendly staff, pleasant accommodation. Our request for flexibility with dates was obligingly met.
Friendly staff, comfortable and nice hotel with a superb restaurant. Only discomfort was the extra bed which was of a different era (old folding spring bed), but then I didn't feel like complaining so I guess it probably could have been changed...
I was lucky to get an "upgrade" to a double room with very nice bathroom (original Jugendstil elements from 1911 were kept in place), separate toilet, wooden floor etc. - Service was excellent as well as breakfast. Super value for money!
Very comfortable and clean. Lovely breakfast. Very helpful staff with excellent English. Shame use of Sauna not inclusive in price.
The charming location in the town and it was a very nice hotel. Great value for the money
Location Definitely is not a four stars hotel.
Good central location with parking. Helpful staff and good restaurant
Tha location is very good in the center of the town..The breakfast is good and room is clean. nothing
modern part of the hotel is very uggly.
5* service at a 4* hotel!
Excellent location in the historical centre, very quiet, very good facilities, great breakfast
Good location, great breakfast. Our room was in the attic with quite a steep roof, which strongly reduced the room size.
Superb location in this amazing unesco city and with its own car parking. The hotel incorporates a castle tower which is where we chose to stay; you are warned there is no lift for the final floor but it's not a problem as the staircases are wide. Inside the hotel the lounges and restaurant areas are very spacious indeed. Good breakfast included in the price. According to reception the hotel does not get a lot of non-German visitors. Nevertheless I was surprised that on arrival the lady on duty did not speak English very well. You only get 20mins of free wlan internet. That's a big minus for a 4 star hotel. I had completely free, unlimited wlan at the 4 star we used for 4 days in Eisenach.
Location is excellent just outside the historic city of Quedlinburg - Parking is therefore no problem. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in early with no problem at all. This gave us therefore most of the day marvelling at the city. The evening food on offer for a tired traveller was limited but adequate.
convenient, 5-10 minute walk to town center. staff were very nice.
Location, modernized Overcrowded with two tourist buses. It took time to find a free table for breakfast.
Quality period pension in excellent town location with parking. Room 3 charming with cooking facilities.
I stayed at Pension St. Nikolai for 2 nights. The Pension is located within the old city, very convenient for sightseeing, and only about 10 minutes walk from the station, easy access both for car and train travelers. The room was clean with necessary amenities and had a full kitchen stocked with utensils. A good choice of stay to see the small, quiet but interesting World Heritage city of Quedlinburg. Can't think of any, but It might be even better for non-German-speaking guests if the staffs speak a little more English.
A superb room with mini kitchenette as a welcome addition.Cosy bed.Family run with friendly staff.Highly recommended.
Very friendly young lady on reception when I arrived. Food in restaurant was really good. My room was clean, tidy, large and had everything you would expect. The hotel has real character and is accessible easily from both tram routes that leave the station - a couple of minutes walk down a side street. Nothing at all!
Hotel was very nice, room very comfortable.
I liked the modern design rooms in a very old and romantic setting. The restaurant- though we didn't use it- looked very inviting. The bar was excellent. The hotel personnel, even though discreet and reserved, went out of their way to be accommodating. The bathroom was extremely small, yet offered every possible comfort, so this is only a very minor complaint. There should have been extra pillows though.
Nice place in the old part of the city. Friendly staff an uncomplicated procedures. Facilities especially the bathrooms a little worn down and up for renewal.
Yeah baby it was some sick stuff, sick like malaria and polio all wrapped up in one
Good parking area. Good breakfast. Had requested non smoking room but received smoking, not to bad though. No lift in building.
top location nein
it was a very quiet location there appeared to be maintenance work going on, the on-line photos did not reflect accurately the appartment we had, there was no shower curtain, the restaurant/bar wasn't open
The bungalows are nice and you have everything you need to cook. It is in the middle of nowere. No courtains in the bathroom. You need a car to get there. The address in the web was not the right one.
Very friendly staff
Informal, rural setting
Excellently situated for visits all over the Harz; very friendly and helpful management; although the place is run-down it's very clean; quiet; The general outlook of the hotel, but it's being improved; the double room was in essence a twin room
the hotel is in a wonderful position the landlady is very kind and friendly and breakfast is really very good there is just a very nasty person workin there fortunately we met her just once, she didnt spoil our stayn anyway .very good
Great staff Room was very clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable Very good breakfast
situated close to city centre parking too small
Great location, very friendly staff. Altough English is not spoken one can receive a familiy-like treatment. It is 10seconds (really seconds) from the main attractions of the town. No English Spoken
Great hotel, superb location, friendly staff & the breakfast was superb.
This is a wonderful hotel located at the base of the hill leading up to the church/castle. We visited during a heat wave and a large fan was in the room. Also we were given large glasses of cold mineral water by the welcoming staff. The location on a small street off the main road was quiet.
good location, friendly staff nice choice for breakfast, Problem with work being carried out in the town machines noise 6-45am not hotels fault
The staff was very helpful. It was clean and comfortable. The location was great!
The hotel is across the street from the castle. Yet, the location was nice and quite. This was very nice. Free internet - great. The staff was great, too. Example, they saw me standing outside. They brought out a chair for me to use. Also, I needed to check out early on my last day. They started breakfast early just for me. room was small. The price and everything else was right and I was staying alone, so this was not a problem.
The hotel is an old timber framed building close to the centre of Quedlinberg. Our room was large and well furnished. The staff did not speak good English but were friendly and made themselves understood. Breakfast was fine. There is room for off road parking of about 8 cars behind the hotel. The hotel offers free wifi in all rooms. We would have liked to have stayed longer.
The hotel is located right on the market square making it easy to explore Quedingburg on foot and return to one's hotel room as needed. The breakfast was very good as well and it was great to have hotel parking nearby,
Beautiful room - great location - extremely helpful and accommodating staff - excellent experience No
hotel had a lot of character and was in an excellent location. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was not open on sunday evening and we were unable to find a restaurant that had english speaking staff or an english menu.
Location, small hotel, very quiet hotel We stayed at room nr.17. The room is lovely but its very bright. We woke up very early in the morning due to the light coming in and the very poor curtains.
The service was outstanding--courteous, welcoming, very helpful. The room was pleasant and very comfortable; and breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect--right on the pretty market square. For us this hotel lived up to all of its excellent reviews. We liked everything about this hotel. It does not have an elevator, which might make it difficult for anyone who could not negotiate the stairs.
Despite our lack of German language, staff always made us welcome. The menu in English was appreciated. Food excellent.
It is a charming hotel on a lovely city square with a beautiful fountain. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very well kept. The city is fascinating. We had a great time. I think it is important to realize that this is an older hotel with no air conditioning, no elevator and lots of uneven flooring and steps. We had older parents with us, and it was difficult for them to manuever up the steps to the first floor (which in Europe is actually the second floor).
The room was lovely and comfortable, the food was excellent and the service fantastic, there was a nice beer garden (courtyard really) which was very pleasant and had an automatic cover to shelter you if it rained, it's in a very nice location ideally placed halfway between the centre of Quedlinburg and the train station/road access. Quedlinburg is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. It's also wonderful for access to the Harz Mountains. The only thing which was unfortunate was that we arrived on the climactic night of a rock festival taking place right outside the hotel, so we needed the hotel's fine selection of wines to be able to sleep, but on all the subsequent nights it made us appreciate the peace and quiet even more.
The window of the room faced the plaza, it is really nice. The breakfast is good. The restaurant of this hotel is recommended by a book concerning the Harz food. You can order the meal in a smaller size and of course cheaper. The meal is a bit salty for me, but my taste is light.
An interesting town. A good trip out to Thale (easy by train) is recommended. Not much english is spoken but everyone was very helpful. It and the town fully fulfil the article in the Sunday Telegraph of Feb. 14th 2010. Article by Simon Winder "MY Kind of Town".
Friendly helpful staff, courteous at all times even when we arrived after the restaurant had closed they still prepared us a meal. The weather was very hot during our stay and the room would have benefited from some type of air conditioning or a fan otherwise it was perfect.
Good location and lovely beer-garden
Excellent accommodation, copious breakfast, spacious car park. Beautiful old building in the town centre, close to everywhere. Highly recommended.
restuarant was particularly good. view from window into square also excellent
The room was clean, bed comfortable, and wireless internet was available. Breakfast was outstanding. Free parking in back, too. Nonsmoking rooms are available, but smoking is allowed on the premises. While the hotel may be 300+ years old, the rooms inside are completely modern, and hence not old-world charming like we had anticipated in this lovely, half-timbered town. You have to pay for wireless internet, and if you like to read in the evening, the lighting was poor.
Very good staff, service minded. High sound from Disco/bar
A very pleasant german inn in the center of Gernrode 10 mins walk from the Harz railway station A very pleasant inn with good food and beer
Good room & facilities, friendly staff, excellent food. I'd certainly stay there again. Nothing at all
Location OK. Breakfasts fine, and room cleanliness very good. Age of building and style excellent. Reception a disaster, no one there. German guests had to help us out with trouble to them and us, had to walk 400 meters for a room key and it was the wrong one ! Asked to pay cash to settle the bill (no prior warning). I expect when I ask my bank to send the money it will cost me extra.
