The facilities were poor, needs updating Decor and poor quality food, ate out
Availability at a time of high demand and proximity to airport The room was in the middle of being re-decorated, smelled of paint, window was open to try and clear fumes and room had been pressed back into service to take advantage of high demand
good allround, simple rooms, everything worked and was clean + near the rail station. one staff member was very irritated when i asked for a receipt after paying cash for an extra night and no internet access afterall, (although local library was geat for that!)
friendly helpful receptionist Lift had been broken for a week and still not repaired - we were on the 3rd floor - fortunately we were only staying one night as we were in Hale for a wedding. There was no parking on site. Street parking was payable from 8.00am.
The service was very good and an excellent buffet breakfast was available. The location was also very convenient. It would have been better if there was a private hotel for customers as we had to park in the supermarket car park and there did seem to be a problem with gangs in the vacinity of the hotel. I think this was because it was a Friday night. We have previously visited on a sunday and it was very quiet.
Great location and excellent value for money. Really nice breakfast and nice touch with the complimentary bottle of wine. Overall making for a very positive experience. Room was not as clean as it might be. Not a problem that the amenities were only basic, but carpet and beds looked like well overdue for replacement.
My original room was dirty, overheated with stained marked furniture, but the v.v.hot pipes made it impossible to sit, never mind sleep in. The receptionist on duty was v.helpful and managed to get me another room, still hot, but because it had more air coming in I could sleep. The heat from the pipes running through the room was at a dangerous level. I would not have taken a child into those rooms. I had to sleep with only the duvet cover, no duvet. This wasn't during a spell of hot weather!
Quiet rooms with comfortable beds The local car park details in the hotel were out of date and dispite their bochure saying every room had a trouser press I could not find one in room 116
The location. having a beer outside in the sunshine during Happy Hour. Would benefit from revamped bathroom. Better information passing to night staff.(request for early breakfast was not relayed) This happenened during our last stay also.
Very comfortable, spacious and quality fixtures and fittings. It was day 2 of opening and whilst the staff were very welcoming and entusiastic there were clear training needs. The side of the bath seemed a bit high, o.k. for me but older or infirm people will find it a bit awkward stepping into the shower / bath.
Quiet, comfortable & clean room. Separate from bar. Delicious bar food! Very helpful staff.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts very good, very friendly cook. Only area of negative comment, a barman in the public house seemed to be unable to raise a smile, appeared pretty unhappy in his job.
Pleasant quiet room A little slow booking in as receptionist had gone elsewhere
The most reeming factor of this hotel is the location. It is sufficiently close to Manchester airport wthout all the hustle & bustle. Accomodation was not very warm until the thermostat was located behind a chair. The restaurant was cold and the breakfast was not very inspiring. The evening meal was a disastor resulting in eating in the local balti house, which incidently was excellent.
Good English breakfast, well equipped and spacious room. Member of staff being dismissed at breakfast, poor continental breakfast.
Very clean and comfortable room, plenty of tea and coffee available. Music a bit loud in pub next door.
Good value for money. Pub menu varied and food of good quality, so we were happy to eat on site.
the proximty to where i wanted to be & the great value for money
Very pleasant and helpful staff throughout the hotel and quiet room that was requested was allocated even during a very busy period. Excellent rooms and leisure facilities. Bacon at breakfast was undercooked.
The Spa was lovely and staff were very helpful. Only one set of towels was provided in the room despite having booked a double!
Offers a great location next to knutsford, which has great resturants, wine bars, shops and walks. Great to come back and relax in the spa. I think the breakfast is a little expensive.
Pool was nice, although jacuzzis not working. Bar staff were efficient and friendly. 11am check out was good. Jacuzziz not working was disappointing. When we enquired about booking a cab to go to Tatton Park for the evening I was surprised to be given a list of numbers to try. I would expect a 4 star hotel to automatically call one for you. Bar prices were expensive.
Friendly atmosphere, good quality breakfast with a vast choice of food Did not appreciate the spa being open to non residents and also did not appreciate the problems with payment following our stay. Your hotel have debited my bank account twice, which had i not been vigilent with my account may have gone unnoticed.
A lovely 4 star spa hotel which could easily be a 5 star. Lovely surroundings and hotel itself had lots of cosy places. Possible upgrade on bathroom but like any hotel they are used so often that it is not always possible to keep spending the money.
Good ambiance, good Spa facilities, very helpful staff, beautiful floral decorations, well maintained, modern, very clean and fresh. Could offer shuttle service into Knutsford for guests, or to Tatton Park for the Show. Renew daily bathroom toiletries and include body lotion or moisturiser, renew Tea/coffee supplies daily.
Friendly staff and good service
Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment - inside and out.
Convenient location in need of a makeover
Rooms where really nice, staff vey helpful. No aircon
Very friendly staff Old fashioned rooms, small bathrooms
relaxed atmosphere The hotel & facilities are getting tired - worn carpets, shabby gymn, etc.
Good and pleasant location over the last 20 years have stayed at the Belfry many times but not so many recently as I did not need a room in a hotel in the area I was in room 411 which is a good room - but to get to it the lift one uses is an antique - if one does not properly shut the inner gate, then it works for no one. The stripy black & white carpet on the 4th floor is not pleasant to look at. The passageway from reception to the lift is unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere. It is narrow and one winds around quite a bit.
When i payed my bill i was overcharged the lady in the reception was unable to give me a refund .I had to go to see the reception the next day for my refund .Staff need training on how to deal with customers problems
1 night was not long enough to say
The food in the restaurant was of a pretty good standard and the breakfast had a good selection. The room was of a poor quality and looked extremely tired with stains on the carpets. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and gave me backache. There was peeling wallpaper in the public areas and a bucket in the hall way collecting dripping water. This does not warrant 3 stars.
Rooms were nice and in the evenings we more or less had the pool, jacuzzi and saunas to ourselves Queues at the reception which, with only one person there, you couldn't avoid even if it was just to get a second room key.
Staff went out of their way to help us. Owners were also very welcoming. They also have an amazing chef.
Staff were pleasant & easily approachable None
Very happy with the overall experience. Efficient staff; comfortable room; good service
The staff are extremely polite and friendly, the food is great and very reasonably priced....this is my third stay and I have booked several trips in advance to avoid disappointment!
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the fact that it is a family style hotel and not just a pub with rooms which seems to be the modern way. Occasionally couldn't find a member of staff but this is a minor complaint.
Conveinient to my destination. Ok for one night Outside was shaby and needed smartening up
Friendly and accomodating staff TV seem to be centrally controlled - going off after midnight.
The Hotel had a nice feel to it when you first walk in, but is in need of a good clean The Cleanliness of the bathroom, and the toilet seat was in bad repair The bathroom in our room had not been cleaned well, the shower tray was dirty and ahd hair in it, also there was damage to toilet seat that should have been sorted as it was unhygenic
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent clean rooms.Really beautiful grounds. The rooms were in need of a little updating but good value for money
nice out door seating and garden area wasn't told the restaraunt was closed on Sunday evenings
Ladies very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fan-tas-tic. Accommodation delightful..
Excellent location. Ample Parking. friendly and helpful staff. My single bed had Ensuite. Had tea making capability. Breakfast was not even an additional option. But to be fair there were places around.
Ample space in room, lovely pillows, really good dining room and pesentation. Cooked breakfast, very good.Small lounge with bar and tv lounge very nice indeed. Secure hotel with ample parking at rear. Impression of exterior of hotel in need of paint and to windows to bring them in line with the new plastic that have been fitted. Small wall unit/shelves/or cupboard in bathroom for toiletries would be helpful.
Very friendly family and staff, and will probably stay again when visiting Salford
Good clean hotel ideally situted for pubs restaurants and metrolink None
Staff is really kind and helpful. Nothing to be complained.
Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, handy location near the metro with a free car park.
bed was very comfy steep stairs
The best hotel I have stayed in of the price range. Excellent throughout and the attention to detail that just gives that little bit extra. Decent cooked breakfast too, which in most places I'd normally skip. The bed was a little too soft for my taste
It was very good value for money. the route to get there from the A56 was not easy as the surrounding roads are not signposted, but i don't have sat nav.
Service second to none - very friendly N/A
Lovely decorated and clean premises. Large bedroom. Great parking. Lovely breakfast. No soap.
Good location one night stay over good comfy bed clean bathroom etc
Staff very friendly and helpful, bar area dog friendly Hotel under refurbishment, workers started very early.
Paid £53, expected like other Premier inn! 2 people stayed in single room with double bed which moved towards wall. No place for vanity, dampness and black colour on ceiling in the bathroom. Tall mirror was hiding.
Good hospitality. Lack of family room for three people.
Cleanliness, friendly, efficient service, excellent breakfast
Cleanliness, Friendly Staff and Location Stayed in 'old' wing. Poor lighting made it impossible to use hairdryer. Room 29 toilet awkward to use due to positioning.
Friendly staff None
Excellent choice of Breakfast and the close proximity to restaurants and bars etc. Free parking. Freezing cold room - we had to get an engineer to fix radiator and the bathroom was shabby and old fashioned.
The breakfast was good and the staff very pleasant. The bed was not very good at all.
Excellent location, Duty Manager Lee very helpful & Breakfast staff delightful with delicious hot cooked breakfast. Sadly the extractor fan in the rooom next door was on all night resulting in no sleep and the fan in our room also really loud
Friendly staff A few language problems and tv didn't work and staff were unable to help.
As we came with friends for plane spotting, we appreciated location nearby of the MAN airport :-) Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had really good times in Pymgate Lodge :-)
Room was very nice and comfortable - the price was good. I would go again. No negative points
near to airport
credit card machine not working, staff unable to provide payment receipt as a result. There was a 1 hour wait had we decided to eat at the Hotel.
The location was ideal for an early morning flight from Manchester Airport and in close vicinity of a Beefeater pub for good value food. Illuminated "hotel name" sign located directly outside room window. Blackout curtuains required to block out the light pollution
Friendlyness of the staff Lacking cleanliness in the room (carpet, bed side tables, extensive mould behind the shower door)
Lots of little things. The cups on the hostess tray were badly chipped. There was no water glass in the bathroom. All of the glass doors were very dirty. At dinner my table cloth needed to be changed. There were no paper napkins at any meal. The only coffee was instant coffee. There were no sugarless cereals. Only white toast was available.
The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, spacious, and well lite. The hotel is only 5 min drive to the Manchester Airport. Dinner is available and was very good. The couple who manage the hotel are super. No.
Very convenient to wilmslow, knutsford and mobberley, we were there my No, loved it, However there wer people like us having to come downstairs in our pyjamas for a cigarrette
Pub Coach and Four was great, room was clean and confortable, I felt at ease with nothing that really bothered me at this price At this price nothing stood out to complain about.
Excellent beer, nice atmospheric pub. Friendly staff. It problems with checking in system - staff handled it well though. Air con set to 28degC!
Bed was very comfortable Even when all the lights were on because of the light shades the room was still quite dark for reading lots of business documents
Good location. Lodge is clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendlyand helpful. Did not eat in restaurant but it looked very inviting.
Wilmslow Lodge itself was fine When we arrived the Lodge had no record of our internet booking. The guy on the desk was extremely helpful and although fully booked mananged to juggle the rooms to accommodate us. To say this was poor service from your administration is being polite. We had travelled up from Romsey Hampshire and my husband was considering having to return after attending our function. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened and I would be grateful for your comments
Allowed us our request of 12 noon check out None
Spacious, well furnished room and large comfortable bed - friendly staff in hotel and attached pub. None
Pleasant and simple interior design in rooms. Good facilities. Nice family-friendly inn with nice atmosphere. some staff serving at the inn not that friendly.
a wonderful hideaway in Alderley Edge, but within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping in the surrounding area. The suite was simply beautiful and the owner (Ian) could not have been more helpful Will be booking again.
Had a wonderful time at Wizard's Thatch. The suite was charming. Will stay longer next time.
everything was absolutly amazing and we wil definately be going back at some point. We wish we could live there permamently. Thank you very much!!
Lovely property - great if you are looking for something a bit different to a hotel. Fabulous location and very relaxing - highly recommended
Spotless, more than one room, fresh flowers, comfortable bed, good tv Not a hotel but self catering rooms ina not a hotel but self catering accommodation in a pprivate house,no staff,no breakfast served, strong unpleasant smell, clutter, needs extra bedside table, poor parking facilities
The main thing about staying here is it is "different". It feels special and is a treat versus the usual nice hotel! Not really, although it has to be said that the rooms are quite small and cottage-like. The photographs give the impression of a much more spacious layout.
the cottage was amazing. Totally unique experience, will definitely come back and will tell friends about it. Clean and warm with lots of interesting thingsto look at .
It was absolutely chocolate box meets, four weddings and a funeral and the sumptuous luxury of the mini break in bridget jones' diary. The proximity to London Roads vibrant and cosmopolitan night life more than makes up for any absent room service.
The uniqueness of the property and excellent service were both a refreshing change and a great experience.
Cooked breakfast Aircraft noise
The bar was great, good atmosphere and welcoming for families. The room was comfortable and the pool was a great size, although was shocked no signs to say what shouldn't happen as very small children were in jacuzzi area?? Wanted to hire robe as taking very small baby to pool- didn't do robes? Would've liked a shower cap in room as soaps dispensible wasn't anything else. Also copies of bar menu/ childrens menu in room would've been helpful, The reason for out trip was to take baby swimming for first time without taking to a public baths.
The hotel was very convenient, clean and breakfast was good The verve restaurant closed at 5:30 on the Sunday we arrived which was a bit inconvenient as we wanted to relax and eat in the hotel we did not want to have to go out of the hotel and drive somewhere to eat to eat and the bar snacks were not really what we wanted for the evening meal.
hotel was very nice, comfy rooms, staff were friendly , food was good in bar and breakfast, swimming pool was warm and clean will use this chain of hotels again
The leisure facilities the cracked sink in the bathroom
Use of pool and gym Only shower/wc provided in room allocated. We were moved to a room with Bath/wc. TV/internet access nor working properly. Sound insulation between rooms was very poor.
food and service
The room was very comfortable and well presented. The hotel has all the facilities of a 4 star hotel at a budget price!
Leisure club, parking, food No sofa in my room as stated in the room info on internet,a group of your guests were swearing a lot where your table and chairs area is outside the pub.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, the staff were very polite and helpful, the room was first class and the quality of foopd and service was of a high standard. we would definitely go back and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
The food was out of this world, we have already recommended the restaurant to friends. The room was large, the bed huge, and the attention of the staff was excellent. The bar, for pre-dinner drinks, lacked atmosphere and the furnshings did not do justice to the general character of the hotel. Some of the furnishings in the room were a little 'tired', ring marks on the table, beside tables etc.
The room was excellent The general feel and ambience was good The service at dinner was poor due to a large party on the other dining room
Large, very well furnished room. Spacious, modern, very clean bathroom with luxury products. Extra touches eg. Bottle of mineral water provided, selection of teas, coffee etc.iron/ironing board in room. If I really have to put something down, perhaps a room with a better view.
The food was excellent, andit was very peaceful and comfortable Our bedroom (No 325) was rather 'tired' - the shower needed attention - water overflowing resulting in damage to the side of the bath; the kettle in the room didn't switch off automatically - probably needs replacing; the tv seemed rather old; the wooden furniture was badly marked.
very nice hotel staff great would go again soon
Room Design No thermostat. No extra blankets, froze at night and kept waking up. Water in shower alternated between too hot, and too cold.
Very polite, friendly staff. Quick book in. Excellent check out with credit card receipt placed under the bedroom door meaning only the key card had to be handed in. Bed very, very comfy; bedroom/bathroom very clean. Lovely views from room. Fantastic breakfast! Lift out of action although couldn't be helped and using the stairs did us good!
Staff were efficient and friendly without being familiar.
I like the interior deco, which is warm and high quality. The external environment is also nice - near a small lake and very much country-side style. It's pity that I didn't get enough time to enjoy it. The layout. I have to walk a way from the reception to my room, which is the furthest room on the ground floor to the reception. Also the water pressure for the bath is too high and not adjustable.
The hotel staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly and for a night out in Alderley Edge, its location is perfect. The room, despite being nicely decorated and pretty well equipped, was very small and really only suitable for one person.
Fabulous location, gorgeous room, luxury bathrobes provided, excellent freshly cooked breakfast, helpful, friendly staff, quiet and peaceful ambience throughout hotel. Although quality toiletries, only bare minimum provided - no shower cap, hair conditioner or body lotion provided.
Stayed before-restaurant is excellent.Lovely building,just upgrading rooms.Love the place,definitely returning(again)
beautiful garden, close to village with good restaurants, excellent service small room. no air conditioning. musty smell in room
Staff - helpful, courteous, efficient Restaurant - absolutely outstanding, the best meal I have ever had (and I've eaten in some world class restaurants) Temperature of room: it was very warm. I am from a subtropical climate, so if I think it's warm, it is. There was only a small window, poorly located, and the room received most of the day's sunlight.
The breakfast was great!
That all the members of staff were very friendly when we arrived at the hotel. That we had to keep the fan on throughout the night in our room as it was to warm in the room, and we had bad headaches in the morning.
