No remote control for TV in room, therefore couldn't watch tv late at night. Restaurant not open on Monday evenings. I arrived late and then had to go out to find a restaurant on a wet night Finally, there is building work adjacent to the hotel and loud noise from just after 7am in the morning!
Perfect hotel if you visit Gent and Brugge by car. Rooms are very good, breakfast not the best ever but doable. There is free parking, good free wifi and easily accesable from the E40. Check in was extremely convient. Spa is not free according to the information book.
Staff was very helpful and efficient. Good beds, comfortable room with modern decor. Not everyone has a GPS. Mentioning the road works and the way to get to the hotel in the e-mail confirmation sent by the hotel would have been helpful. Fortunately I was warned by previous guests' comments.
thye room was modern and comfortable with a very good shower
Room lay out, easy to get to, friendly people, near town centre with lots of nice places to eat/drink! No internet (yet)
Poor finishing details to the room. Air conditioning did not work Staff on holiday, so there were no restaurant facilities
Breakfast was very nice to start the day with. Nice to be in the town and watch the world go by when eating Breakfast. Shower head in the wet room was too high and could not be adjusted.
Location easy to find, vast parking, very clean room, free WiFi, good restaurant. WiFi not fully operational, a rain coat forgotten in the room has not been found later, which left a very bad feeling about my stay.
Nice staff, comfortable rooms, value for money
the restaurant was an unexpected suprise the food there was excellent
Very nice surrounding, quiet, charming hotel. Better place to stay compare to city hotels and it is not far.
The hotel is in a lovely setting and has a very nice ambiance. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything that your neighbours do in their room or on the hallway.
Old country style building nicely located along the river. Gourmet restaurant is the main force of this hotel. For those traveling without car will have difficulty to get to this hotel by public transport. Taxi from Gent could be quite expensive.
Asa always - very pleasant staff and lovely hotel. In the weekends - they need more staff to help at the busy breakfast time, but he did his best.
The river location was excellent We were aksed to check out at 10 am (1 hour earlier than normal) as a "football team were checking in that day". Should that have made our stay shorter ??
The location is superb. Rooms are nbot too big - at least ours - but furnished with taste. The noise was a serious problem. Doors and walls are not well insulated and a lot of noise coming from people returning or leaving their rooms. We could almost understand the conversation of the neighbours from our room. Whilst the location and set-up is very pleasant and recommendable, I would hesitate to send anyone because of the noise in the rooms.
Good atmosphere, cultivated lokation and enviroment, breakfast exellent
Very good standard of food in the brasserie. This was busy with locals using it for dinner. Hotel not busy, given an upgrade in room. Quiet location yet easy access from motorway. Friendly staff and English spoken.
Excellent breakfast rooms very large but a bit dark. Quiet location hotel took a bit of finding
This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff in a residential/rural location. Could have used internet/e-mail access.
Unique setting, welcoming and friendly staff, quality of room service breakfast. couldn't fault a thing
We had a pleasant stay at the Hotel Torenhof. Nice rooms, nice setting and above all very quiet and peaceful.
This is a charming old building with historic significance - which is now a hotel. Baroc style with exotic carpets, large framed paintings, beautiful landscaped gardens. Family run, helpful and friendly staff, multilingual. Food and service were excellent. Located in an exclusive residentail neighbourhood, safe and secluded. Competitive room rate. The taxi to Ghent is 20 Euros each way.
Quiet and peaceful setting. A good base for getting to Ghent Brugge and Brussels Would have liked to have had the facility to make tea or coffee in the room
Nice and friendly and great breakfast
Lovely people, charming location, great breakfast, good access to Ghent and Ypres Double bed way too small, barely even a double.
fantastic location in a bautiful area with a lot of interesting thngs and musea to see.
Very nicely located, beautiful inside interior. Bath tube is useless.
Modern rooms, friendly staff. Room was noisey during very heavy rain. No fault of the hotel, just the Belgian weather..
The care, attention and helpfulness from the owner and the comfort of the beds and bedding and modern style of hotel - did not want to leave absolutely nothing
The friendly atmosphere No clear instrction on what to do if no staff are available at boo in time
Excellent attention from the staff, good fresh food, lovely, comfy, clean room. Hard to find.
very individual hotel. Built by the owner to a high standard for such a good value hotel.Easy access to the motorway but out in open countryside. Good parking and a nice bar.Ideal for an overnight stop or walking holidays in the countryside.Great value.
I enjoyed the quiet farmland panorama from my window and patio, the warm welcome from the family, the spacious comfortable room, the good facilities, the ample and tasty breakfast (including a freshly laid boiled egg from the hotel farm each morning!), my reflective walks in the narrow coutryside lanes, the silence!! NO
if you like the countryside, a quiet place, mid way bruges e gand. the family is kind and ready to give you everything you need.
Friendly top service! Very nice rooms. A category above description!
Friendly owner and his daughter
Arrived late but warmly welcomed. The hotel was a wonderful combination of a modern building and features with fascinating antique furnishings. Peaceful yet very convenient location. No
i like the peacefull location, the farmhouse and teh trees. there was a sereen energie. the bed was oke and teh colourcombination was very good no every thing was very well !!!! even the eggs at breakfast.
Lovely location. We were made so welcome we felt as if we were visiting friends or family, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful, fresh and locally sourced. By car , easy access to Ghent, and other places of interest, also the Netherlands. If feeling energetic the offer was made for the use of a tandem or bicycle. Language was not a problem as the proprietors are multi-lingual. The use of a sauna was also available. We highly recommend this B. & B. and will definitely return. No
rooms are really stylish and cosy. breakfast is really good, wi fi is free, sauna a must-do. Price way more than fair. Highly recommended for a romantic week-end and for business purposes also It is located more than 10 km away from Ghent. No daily housekeeping.
The staff was very professional and made you feel like they were glad you were there
The staff were very friendly and willing to assist as much as possible. The rooms are quite reasonably sized and meets the minimum requirements for a nice stay The hotel was quite good however i would recommend facility for warm water since it would be usefull for taking coffee at night. Or instal coffee brewing facilty at the counter for one to buy when needed
pokey room. parking weird
Check in was only from 2 - 6PM. We were told there was a front door key in a safe, but this didn't appear to work. We were let in by guests, so this wasn't a problem in the end.
Pleasant people, quiet and secure location Bought access to wi-fi (twice) but connection is poor there and could not connect
The excellent rail access to Bruges, Antwerp and Ghent. Room was comfortable and clean. Car parking was 400m from hotel.
Helpfull Staff. Location for both Brugge/Ghent. No dinner at night so think of as b&B. Most local restaurants shut on Monday, so be aware choice limited.
Friendly, accomodating staff, we arrived after the last check in, but were still taken on a tour of the available rooms, to pick our one. Decent breakfast. The rooms are not really film themed, as stated.
Unfortunately nothing . Room was tiny, beds totally uncomfortable - two twin beds connected together- disater! There was no hairdryer . Breakfast was very poor . We got really dissapointed .
Breakfast was well laid out and on time, important for an early start. The staff were very helpful The cinema provided a relaxing evening. The lack of parking space in the hotel grounds though this was offset by being able to park inside the hotel to unload and load the car. Plenty of parking spaces were available in a road behind the hotel a minutes walk away
