The village and hotel is nice. The personnel are very friendly. The breakfast is very fine. I would like to visit the hotel again.
A small, pleasant hotel in a leafy neighborhood. Close to plenty restaurants and good public transportation.
All was perfect. if I travel in Munich area in ther future i will stay again in the hotel
We like the location and the atmosphere at the hotel and the city.
Wonderful location and couldn't have been happier. We were made to feel so welcome and would love to stay again soon!!! Thank you for such a great recommedation!
The room was fine. Evening meal was a good example of authentic rustic German country food. Many of the ingredients were home made. A little like an old peoples home.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff.
Service and staff are perfect. Rooms are super. Nice environment. Everything was excellent !
Location. Internet access. Personnel is not very friendly. Room for 4 people was too small and 2 beds were located in tiny space. Restaurant quality was poor although in the web was recommendable. Quality-price of both hotel and restaurant is bad.
We used this hotel as a stop over on a road trip from Germany to Sweden. The reason we picked it was the ease of access from the Autobahn. As always in Germany, the breakfast was great. I suppose we might stay there again if we were doing the same trip, but it wasn't really our kind of place. It was a bit overpriced. I would expect to pay that amount for a hotel of the same standard in a city centre, but not one located out in the country.
Excellent service. Good restaurant. Facilities such as sauna, whirlpool, steam bath, etc. freely available for hotelguests. Nice location, good access to other infrastructure. A non-smoking room had been reserved and confirmed, but was not available.
no wi fi at the rooms, small rooms
Very beautiful hotel in the country. Large, clean, quiet room. Not so near to Hamburg. Ten minutes by car to Harburg and 20 minutes by train to Hamburg.
easy to access, close to the highway old fashion, average food
I liked the fact that the hotel had a rerstaurant where smoking was prohibited. Friendly and very helpful personnel. Lay out and furniture of rooms are rather outdated (dark brown).
Nice place, relatively close to Hamburg (by car). Large rooms. One of the waitress was rude. There was no heating (or didn't work, it was hopeless to turn it on). They didn't answer for the e-mail.
Beautiful and quiet surroundings. Very nice staff. Large rooms. Good food. Pet friendly. Nice swimming pool. It was hot when we stayed there. An air conditioning would be nice.
The location is pleasant and quiet, the hotel has atmosphere, and many walks can be undertaken from the hotel (within a few metres there is a heather landscape). The indoor swimming pool is unusually large and warm. The hotel is rather dominated by horse activity, and this can also be interesting for outsiders to watch. We agree with other reviewers about slowness of service. This was our experience both on the terrace in the afternoon and in the restaurant in the evening (despite only one or two tables being occupied). We also on more than one occasion had to get up and remind staff of our presence, and to get something else to eat or drink.
Very good Hotel. 3 to 4 class service, lot of parking place, comfortable room, free welcome drinks, good restaurant, "gemutliche" atmosphere. Romantic touch. Breakfast included and that all for only 75 euro's for a double room. The town is little but with a very nice old centre.
We liked the atmosphere which is why we returned there for another night. Friendly staff. Lovely hotel rained all the time we there so didn't get chance to explore the area.
This hotel is an older facility, but it was exceptionally clean. Our dinner in the dining room and the breakfast buffet were both excellent.
Very large family room, excellent service
Our 3-person room was big, the beds were firm and quite comfortable, the buffet-breakfast was tasty and freshly made.
A good breakfast buffet. 45 minutes to wait for a sallad is too long, I think.
Location - location - location. 50 metre walk from old town - very nice balcony - friendly staff. Hotel is not aceesible by car. Must park in lot approx 200m and carry suitcases to hotel. Not rec for arriving by car. Warning - do not drive car to hotel to drop off as getting out is difficult at best.
The staff were very helpful. We speak very little German but they were patient with us and explained things as best they could — particularly the restaurant staff — which helped us to enjoy our stay. A kettle/complimentary tea bags/milk in our room would have made it perfect.
Beautiful, wonderful place to stay. A little difficult to find. My GPS system took me to another place at first; had to ask directions, then reset the GPS.
Beautiful rooms, good parking facilities, staff were all welcomming and friendly, superb food and bar. quiet even though on a main road, walks in the countryside just across the road. Play area for children with beer garden. Really enjoyed the stay.
If you have a car, this hotel is very comfortable. Free parking, free Wi-Fi ,very cheap breakfast moreover nice.
It was a one night hotel on our way to Sweden. The location was good and after people had left the Biergarten it was very quiet. The room is ok and clean. The hotel is not very modern.
Old fashioned charming rooms, good breakfast, nice hotel bar
Location is great. Room is nicely attached to a little garden/terras. Breakfast wasn't really something to look forward to. No fresh items. A bit old fashioned interior of the breakfastroom.
Good sized room, clean and a quiet hotel, friendly and helpful staff that accommodated our children in the room with us. None really, but didn't have breakfast in the hotel so couldn't comment re the food. Kettle and tea making in room would have been good.
Nice view!! Low price!!
Breakfast was good. Location is great if you have a car. Non-smoking room smelled smoke (Room 75). No curtains in the bathroom (Only in one room Room 75), can be viewed from fire exit.
Very large room; very friendly staff. Wide selection of dishes available in restaurant and breakfast was also very good. Ample (relatively private) parking also available. The hotel's location (just a few minutes from Autobahn A7/A1) is excellent as an overnight stop on a long journey through Germany. Room could have been cleaner.
Nice, quiet, relaxing aftera long day on the busy roads. I had problems with the hotspot internet, bad or no connection.
Travelling through Europe it is a very convenient stop in the vicinity of Hamburg. I would prefer the essentials - such as hand soap etc provided by the hotell.
It is the only hotel in walking distance to my family's home. Beds were O.K. (two singles). Europe lacks the convenience of Queen and King size beds. Breakfast was fine and had a good choice of cold cuts and cheese, also smoked salmon and a variety of good breads/rolls. - The hotel is right by the 'autobahn', and it's a breeze to go to Hamburg by car, though Maschen has also train connections to anywhere one wants to go. While the stairways and corridors obviously had undergone some renovation (floor covering, wall covering and paint), this was not the case with the room which had an old carpet, outdated furniture and lacked comfort and coziness. The room was very quiet though and had a small tv. - Having been there during the Worldcup 2010, I would have expected a large hdtv in the restaurant/bar/pub, but there wasn't any!
A great place out in the country-side. Good breakfast, good service and great bed to sleep in. One woke up refreshed. I will make sure to stay here again on my next trip through Germany, a little longer stay next time though. We were a little unlucky to arrive as the neighbouring farmer was spreading out fertilizer on one of his fields so there was a bad smell, but not the fault of the hotell.Out room was not ready on arrival, but as compensation we were offered the bridal-suite.
The location in the countryside
Nice little hotel in the country, personel was very friendly and helpful
Wonderful country atmosphere away but near to the Autobahn. Great place to stop for a break on your drive. Very friendly owners!
The prize, the staff, the breakfast
The Hotel is situated in a fine countryside village district in Lüneburger Heide, not too far from the Autobahn and the rooms are very beautifully furnished. We felt us immediately at home with my wife. Without doubt the stay at Studtmann's gave us the best value for money this summer.
Very helpful staff.
Nice area, very clean..
Close to highway, nice and clean rooms, good service, great beer, very polite stuff. Good stay for bussines trip to Hamburg. After busy day, we get relaxed. Great beer in restaurant. Breakfast good enough. I bit more english speaking, but it was enough anyway.
Friendly staff and other guests. Quiet location in pastoral landscape. Staff was happy to help me when I left a light on in the car overnight and needed a jump.
verynice and helpfull hotel staff.good location would be nice if it was a no smoking hotel
close location near highway A1. people working in the hotel are very kind. Hittfeld is pleasant village to walk around and has a reasonable choice of restaurants. breakfast buffet was ok. it was sunny and humid day; rooms under the roof were a bit warm, opening a window during evening gives traffic noise (for one of teh 2 rooms)
Excellent breakfast although we did stuggle to identify all the things on the evening menu (we must learn better German!) Our room had a faint smell of smoke
The ease to find the hotell from autobahn.
Oldy-worldy bar and dining area, all oak and traditional lighting. Good selection of drinks. Excellent selection at breakfast bar, incl. fresh fruit. (Did not eat in restaurant as we were in Hittfeld for a funeral. Menu looked good, local German food. Single rooms good size, modern comfortable furniture and bed, excellent power shower and extremely good lighting (bright at table, good reading light at bed side table. All very clean and neaatly planned. Location on main road in village. Dorffest (village fete with funfair and all) at weekend we were there, plus flee market (6 a.m. start) made for a noisy nights. In-house casino noise level in rooms facing rear can be high. Staff/owner (?) unwilling to keep front door open for guest arriving after 10 p.m. due to 2 hour flight delay. Back door was blocked by crash gates put up against Dorfest-revellers) But pleading helped to keep lights on and door unlocked so taxi from Hamburg could find and deliver guest. Would only recommend hotel, when no Dorffest or Flee-Market is on.
good breakfast, nice free WiFi, free parking
Excellent hotel, despite it's lowly star rating. Loads of character and located at the centre of a small town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The hotel restaurant however, was everything you'd need in terms of choice and quality. Breakfast starts with a soft boiled egg, how unusual is that in Europe? Ideally placed for visiting Hamburg and there's golf just 3kms away.
