quick and effortless time it took to check in being told about the amenities at the hotel the location of the hotel was ideal for us to travel around Scotland for the four days that we stayed breakfast time the meals and beverages could have been hotter
The bed sheets were disgusting! i ended up actually going and staying with a friend and not at the hotel
Staff all polite and helpful. Although the hotel was not in a great location the surrounding business park was very well maintained and picturesque The bar and lounge areas were very poorly lit and felt quite cold in the evening. Also could probably do with refurbishing rooms and leisure facilities although they were clean.
the rooms and service the breakfast was diabolical and very disappointing - the swimming pool was too busy
Convienient location and good staff Whilst the food in the restaurant was ok some elements of the meal was luke warm with a similar experience at the breakfast buffet.
Being at the same Hotel as the Wedding we were going to, breakfast, pool & suna Comfort of the beds not very good.
Good clean room with all the critical things working properly. A few blown light bulbs, tv remote didn't work very well & a very anoying shelf just above your head in the bed which I banged my head on a couple of times.
Good gym facilities and staff Room service main meal was lovely but cheese and biscuits were very poor value for money - celery and grapes looked like they'd been kicking around a few days!
Spa and atmospher
Easy accees from motorway networks and parking.Clean tidy Some roads noise from traffic.expensive drinks and food in hotel
friendly staff, clean room, all sky channels We chose the hotel on the basis of the photograph and were very disappointed to be staying in an annex
My second visit because the staff at this hotel are both helpful and friendly, and the hotel location is ideal for access from the motorway. Our room was large and we had an extra bed assembled for a last minute traveller on this occasion, cost £15, she reported it as comfortable enough. Breakfast was good at the hotel and evening meal, the previous night at nearby Wallaces, excellent. Nothing
The Staff were so friendly and supportive(went for a funeral). Food was excellent and rooms were really special. Nothing
The Wallace Bistro was excellent.Friendly courteosy staff and good quality food A liitle more assistance on arrival would have been welcomed
Comfortable room + excellent breakfast.
I stayed in the garden wing wich was lovely and quiet - no late night noise. Slow bar service.
attended a wedding not enough towels
was there for a wedding and stayed only one night but had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
I wasn't aware that the main restaurant would not be open on the night I stayed (Sunday). Would have affected hotel selection
Made to feel welcome and the helpfullness of the Senior Receptionist
the staff were particularly helpful during my stay however the food was by far the highlight my compliments to all involved it was the perfect choice of location for the wedding
Spacious comfortable room looking out onto lovely trees and countryside.
We enjoyed time to chill out without the kids. It was very romantic and the food was fabulous. The restaurant.
Food; Accomodation: Grounds. Would have prefered slightly smaller room, with slightly larger en-suite.
Staying in a castle Rooms were poorly decorated and sparse. Not what you would expect from a castle. Additionally the food was very bland and highly overpriced for the descriptions. Not what I expected from a 4star resort and spa.
Lovely atmosphere, good meals and attention from staff excellent Our bedroom could do with a paint and the upholstery being replaced
We had booked in for one night only Didnt arrive until very late at night, staff were very pleasant and welcoming.Deductions were made because we were unable to make dinner reservation, this was very much appreciated and also part of the reason we booked up straight away for february 2011.We enjoyed the short time in the hotel wished we could,ve stayed longer. We had stayed in Raddison Blue in Dublin in september and the difference in the staff and courtesy was chalk and cheese. only that we had such a short time there
The peace and quiet
food good castle rooms old fashioned and depressing, however asked for change to main hotel rooms
The food was excellent and the service was very good. I felt misled as I expected to be staying in the hotel, rather than a modern complex near the castle. The view from our room was of dead weeds, which was frankly quite depressing and not what I expect from a 4-star hotel.
Good location for Kart Circuit. Breakfast good and plenty of variety. The bed was uncomfortable and laundry could be cleaner. Sheets and towels were marked.
Ambiance of the hotel, especially the reception area and the lounge. Nothing
bed was comfortable noise level high from outside no bath
Staff where quite rude, at first they said we hadent booked was very rude about it, never got a sorry. I left my make up bag there by accident. I phoned later that day and was told it wasn't there, basically got called a liar. Again got no apology there was about £100 make up in the bag too.
The room was very pleasant and the staff very helpful from beginning to end of our stay
Clean, modern ad centrally situated. Staff somewhat stern faced and unfriendly, especially at reception.
i injoyed breakfast and relaxing. the trafic outside .
Pleasant, clean accommodation.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, my check in and check out was dealt with in minutes.
The location. Apart from the beds, the hotel itself was good, with nice staff, a comfortable lobby, and the breakfast was very satisfactory. The beds...definately uncomfortable and they sagged in the middle. We were there for 4 nights and i had a stiff neck & shoulder problem after the 1st night. I asked if they could do something about the mattress, the receptionist took note, but nothing was done.
Food good room good No hot water unable to get a shower
Would never stay there again This hotel is disgusting , unclean
The ease of access from the motorway network and central to the weekend of activities planned. The noise in the hotel at 3-30am in the corridor outside, persons trying to gain access to their room, kicking banging the door, the loud voices etc that went on for an hour. Just one of those things but unpleasant
I like stayin here as i feel the room is very cosy and comfortable. Me and my partner will return shortly for another overnight
The convenience to motorway and the added advantage of the Toby Carvery next door. The room we were given was directly beneath the stairs and we were woken up early next morning by people using these stairs.
The hotel was well situated for the places we wanted to visit and we were very pleased with the room that was allocated to us and the prompt check in service received. We found all of the staff to be very pleasant and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable for our purposes.
friendly staff no option for anything other than a continental breakfast
Friendly staff, clean room, good hot breakfast, quiet location and good value for money None
clean and comfortable with helpful staff hot water failed and we had to wait for a shower and move room. Also they charged £10 over the rate you quoted.
I liked the fact the hotel had a park situated opposite. I was able to take my two one year olds there to play whilst we waited for my husband to finish work. We later enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant, followed by a few driks in the bar area. Staff were supportive whilst we pushed our boys in their pram to get them off to sleep. The cleaning staff and breakfast waiting staff were lovely.
availability of all Sky Sports channels on room TV limited choice of breakfast. It was either full Scottish or nothing.I was offered kipper "s" as an alternative and was disappointed to find one tiny kipper on the plate when delivered. Why not have smoked haddock and poached eggs ? I also asked that my toast be provided after eating the main breakfast as I like to eat it hot but this request was ignored
Convenient location. Cheap! Food was decidedly average but expectedly due to the price!
The beds were very comfortable Paid for b&b but arrived 3mins late for breakfast and refused! Brought one white, one brown slice of toast. Nothing else
public areas were well decorated and attractive The rooms were too hot - not enough ventilation flowing through
The bed, best yet! Everything else, the food was the worst I have ever tasted. The staff were very miserable and although the hotel had been redecorated the interconnecting door I had in my room was too small for the frame so I could clearly hear the guy next door snoring all night. How can someone charge £10 for a three course dinner and then charge £9.50 for a breakfast?! Charge more and buy better ingredients.
staff assistance and service given was excellent
Very nice meal in restaurant
Staff friendly, Rooms clean and well arranged. Car park a little cramped.
The location of the hotel was very good. The restaurant was clean bright and the service from the staff was very good The room which I was in was adjacent or near to a pump/generator which ran for approx. 10-25 seconds during the night. At 03.30 I approached the person on reception and he said there was no such thing. So I kept a record and handed it in at the reception next morning. There was mildew around the bottom of the glass shower panel, this could have been removed by simple basic cleaning methods.
Excellent Hotel, very convenient for the motorway network around Glasgow No problems
The staff were very good and very helpfull. From greeting right through to goodbye, a staff member could be found to anyser any questions. Problems with the wireless on the first night, but sorted by the second.
Entrance hall and Check in Flat screen tv Warm water in shower and comfortable bed Position near lake which was ideal for a walk Room a bit dark and dowdy Fair ground machinery a bit noisy but this did not go on too late
Clean, Well Run, Good Food None
There was nothing bad to report about this hotel, we were extremely satisfied with everything None
Good location off M74, good clean rooms, enjoyed complementary glass of wine on arrival - nice touch. Would use again if needing a stop over just outside Glasow
Staff really helpful and welcoming. They had no record of my booking when I arrived, however they quickly rectified the problem.
Very attentive staff and the food was excellent.
Great location, friendly staff Nothing
The staff were fantastic, everything was just brilliant, from the look of the hotel to going through those curtains and wow! Apparently we were supposed to get cookies, we didn't but it's ok, the price if the food was far to much for what it was
Great lounge & bar area. Very nice bedroom Food was over-hyped
Helpful service e.g. checking in early and putting my baggage in the room. Also helping us to the car with wedding presents on the Sunday. No.
Staff welcome very good. frienliness generally was good Noisy guests in corridor - happy chatter, but ladies can be noisy(post wedding ?). Otherwise - no problems.
Quiet and good breakfast Room service very expensive
The rooms were nice and bed very roomy, which we like as we have a superkingsize at home! We were a bit disappointed with breakfast, service could have been better!
We attended a wedding in the hotel and we were allocated a lovely room with an enormous bed. it was great.
we were annoyed by the fact that the spa was closed for refurbishment and nobody bothered to tell us about this, part of the price we paid was for the spa and that was the main reason we booked this hotel. the staff seemed unconcerned and told us tha facilities had closed sooner than expected. am sure they would of still had time to make phone calls to customers advising them of the situation. i would never go back. it totally spoiled our evening
this hotel was terrific very helpful reception staff great staff in leisure & fitness centre brilliant hotel very relaxing ******highly recommended*****
the room was very comfortable the choice and quality of food was excellent
The pool and steam room Service at breakfast, need more staff to serve at tables and fill up the buffet
Excellent staff, food and location. Rooms spotless and fresh. Nothing was too much trouble.
Staff were always pleasant & helpful. Generous breakfast. Weekend party in function room below room until midnight with disco!
The breakfast that was included was very good. It included hot and cold dishes and drinks. The hotel was quite noisy. There was a wedding on while we were there, and as there is no fan ventilation in the room, we kept the windows open for fresh air. The wedding guests and their celebrations kept us awake until the early hours of the morning...not what you want after a day of driving and a full agenda the next day. Interior noise was also a concern.
Good value 3 course meal at the restaurant nothing
My room was modern, with good amenities and seemed recently refurbished The bar and reception area's are tired and in need of refurbuisment - they did not do justice to the room standerd's
I liked the fact that it was close ot the centre of Falkirk
Excellent chef . Can't possibly do dinner at £10. Feeling that Tommy Sheridan might appear at any time
It was well placed for the centre of Falkirk and easily accessible to the roads network for travelling elsewhere. No, it was fine.
Proximity to Callendar House and park; friendly staff; excellent breakfast; free parking; free Wifi Rooms a bit old and tired, but still comfortable
Staff were great
The hotel was spotless!! I have rated the hotel staff as poor. This was because of the reception staff. I wish this person had the same welcoming manner as everyone else within the hotel. Reception staff give the first and last impression - sadly this was to a different standard.
We found the staff to be very warm, friendly and helpful.
Staff very polite and helpful, Rooms clean and to a high standard.
Breakfast / location for my needs / car parking Dinner - menu very poor and expensive and lacked quality. Due to poor selection on the menu meant that I had to dine out the second night of my stay.
convenient and friendly. the restaurant food in the evening was very poor - the roast chicken had not been roasted but broiled (and tasted horrid) and the vegetarian meal was more like a coarse cuppa soup with very little taste. Breakfast was ok.
excellent menu with a what wide range of interesting choices and reasonably priced. Very pleasant family hotel in an interesting old building.
The hotel looks very nice since it's been redecorated - a big improvement. My room was clean and modern and the bed very comfortable.
The ambiance of the resterant No everything was fine
Food was very good Room was small, bed uncomfortable, shower worked when it felt like it.
Ease of parking, good rooms and breakfast was excellent Winter months the hotel is a little quiet qnd lacks atmosphere
staff very friendly and helpful. we stayed in the water lodge only downfall was bedrooms were downstairs toilet upstairs which made it a little inconvenient during the night. overall it was great.
fHotel and all surrounding buildings, river and countryside are surperb, hard to beat. The hotel and staff are excellant and when no weddings, seminars etc. a very peaceful place to stay. the breakfast bar is lacking in fresh cheeses and hams, etc. It looks makeshift and lets the kitchen down.
We had the most fantastic stay. Everything was perfect, including the weather. The countryside was breathtaking. Food and service couldn't be bettered. We liked it all.
The proximity to The New Lanark Mill museum. Was very quiet. Very friendly staff. Free WiFi in the public area. The too warm duvets and the "standard"size double beds, somewhat smaller than we are used to.
The beds were very comfortable and the staff on reception were friendly and efficient. The decor was clearly past its best, the bathroom had mould in some parts and was also a very old dark gren (tres 60s). Whilst at breakfast we noted cutlery on the floor, which drew our attention to dirty skirting boards and dusty floorboards, cloths used to wipe tables were left lying on a table by the kitchen and staff who wore a unform which was too small for them.
I am writing to the Hotel Manager to voice my complaint. Firstly, the beds were extremely uncomfortable - the springs had gone in both the room booked and the subsequent 'executive' room I was moved to. The carton of milk was passed it's sell by date and rendered the cup of tea undrinkable. The paper I ordered for Sunday morning failed to arrive before I left after breakfast. There was an air of disinterest on the part of the staff and I would never wish to stay at this Ramada hotel again.
Helpful staff and convenient location for my needs. Reasonable value for money and food very good. No problems
The breakfast buffet. Excessive noise from other rooms.
Staff very friendly and helpful Room very dated - bathroom from the seventies
Ease of Access
Staff were friendly, polite and efficient, looking after the needs of large tour groups while ensuring that individuals and family groups needs were seen to. Location of hotel was ideal for combining touring of city and countryside as well as shopping.
The staff were very helpful and polite. room service was very good however the sink leaked, the bathroom wasnt the cleanest, the net curtains came off their hooks and the duvet was poor. the pool and "gym" area need a serious re-think / re-furb. see above.
Close to shopping centres Staff were unhelpful at breakfast no manners or greeting
