9.5 Excellent (135 reviews)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and lovely owner. Despite a mix up with booking.com everything turned out perfect. And breakfast was delicious with homemade marmalades and fresh bread.
Cons: Inget
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Francoise, was a superb host who made us feel most welcome and was truly helpful in every aspect. She provided fresh homemade produce, fresh fruit and flowers: preserves ( the quince jelly and apricot juice were delicious) as were the croissants and pain au chocolates for breakfast. The fridge was well stocked with bottled water and notably a box of each rose and red wine to have a drink whenever you wanted. In addition she provided information on local landmarks, exhibitions and restaurants, even making restaurant reservations for us. An added bonus for a residential property was the secure parking.
Cons: Our room was accessed by a winding staircase which some visitors may find difficult to navigate but not a problem for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, beautiful room, extra touches e.g. fresh flowers & biscuits in the room, spotlessly clean. Wonderful breakfast including delicious homemade jams and local apricot juice. The owners were keen for us to enjoy our stay in every way which we did. Go there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Francoise could not have been more helpful with advice (even contacting us before we stayed to offer advice for our journey). Some of the breakfast was made by Francoise herself - juice and brioche. We were also given fresh fruit, yoghurt, butter, milk and coffee. As Brits we were even given Yorkshire tea bags! We stayed in the Keith Haring studio and had the opportunity to cook for ourselves. We loved the modern decor and if we come back to the region we would definitely stay with Francoise and Yves.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We just spent a month in France and this was the nicest place we stayed during the entire trip! Perfect location, great hosts, large, clean room. Perfect!
Chateau De La Saone - Hauterives - Building

9.4 Excellent (185 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very pleasant meal eating outside at a large table in the courtyard with the other guests (€28pp including drinks), who were French, Dutch and Swiss and included young children. The breakfast was magnificent with lots of home made/local produce. There are two very nice friendly (but not too friendly) well behaved dogs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every time I come here it's a great pleasure!! Visit is normally business related, but as soon as you arrive at the Chateau it feels like a holiday. Beautiful rooms and lovely atmosphere. Nice to get homemade and local products for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely atmosphere - Very nice rooms - Friendly hostes
8.8 Excellent
Pros: excellent place where to stay breakfast was very good
Cons: staircase to access second floor
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property has mountains for charm. We loved its French character from the outside through courtyard and pool area.
Cons: Not much really. The only negative was finding the place was a little awkward.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were large, comfortable and attractively decorated and furnished. The included breakfast was excellent value and quality. A real homemade feel.
Cons: The location wasn’t ideal as there was no restaurant at the property and little choice in the nearest town of Beaurepaire. However the menu at Clyde’s was good but ambience not great for a special evening meal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The proprietor, Sandrine, is a superb hostess (and cook!) and has created a wonderful atmosphere in which to relax. The large courtyard garden gives opportunity to mingle with others or relax alone. Breakfasts and dinners were admirable with an emphasis on using the wide variety of produce cultivated on the property.
Cons: In no way could I find fault with any aspect of our stay in this châteaux.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Un bijou caché! The comfort, the welcome, the garden, the dinner and petit déjeuner—All TOP! Next time I would spend more time!!!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tout, alles, tutti, everything was good. Specially the breakfast with a great selection of French Cheeses, self made jam’s which can be bought as well (Hallelujah), différent juices, different breads, .... all mostly homemade or from local producers and served with a big smile. Perfect to start your day!
Cons: Rien!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We found everything of a very high standard, owners were friendly and helpful, evening meal was good and rooms comfortable and clean. The family dogs were friendly without being too ‘obvious’ but they liked a little scratch occasionally!
Cons: Nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: There don't seem to be too many B&B's in the area, but I'd certainly rate this one as one of the best you can hope for and certainly very quiet even though it's located in a small village. Room is a bit small for a longer sojourn at this time of year in my opinion, but it was perfect for my two-night stay. Also there are great outdoor facilities, so in the warmer months you will get to enjoy relaxing in a very generously furnished area by the fish basin. There seems to be a summer kitchen available for guests and even a barbecue if you feel like going the whole nine yards on your stay. Big plus for cat lovers: there are three very gentle felines you can pet, too.
Cons: - Internet connection was weak to non-existent during my stay but it wasn't an issue for me as I could use my cell phone as an ad hoc modem. + But there was a flat-screen TV in my room (only French programs available). + There seems to be excellent reception for cell phones.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Accomodations were in separate buildings, refurbished by the husband. Modern clean facilities in both. Lots of seating areas outside, and good breakfast taken under a tiled outdoor canopy. Wonderful.
Cons: We had virually no French, both the husband and wife had little English, our problem of course.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was all good.
Cons: Nothing.

When you stay at Chambres d'hôtes La Maison d'Hana in Saint-Bonnet-de-Valclérieux, you'll be 9 minutes by car from Abbey-Church of Saint-Antoine. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a nice time at maison d'hana. The rooms were big, the bed was also good to sleep in. The swimming pool was really nice and you could use the sunbeds and fridge for your own beverages. We also loved the shared livingroom. While our girls were sleeping we could drink a glass of wine downstairs. The breakfast was excellent.
6.3 Good
Pros: Stunning house, friendly welcome, access to the summer kitchen, comfy bed.
Cons: Swimming pool was dirty, breakfast was not very healthy.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very large rooms, all very recently refurbished. Comfortable bed, if rather low. The rooms look wonderful and the bathrooms are very well built. Very nice flooring. Excellent breakfast with good coffee. Plenty of off road parking space
Cons: No evening meal is provided but there is an outside fridge, and covered area, nice tables and chairs, cutlery, plates, deep fat fryer, sink with COLD water tap, washing up liquid, sponges and a drying up cloth. Unfortunately, previous guests had left the kitchen area, crockery and cutlery in a disgusting state. The fryer was full and covered with oil, the sponge and drying up cloth were very dirty and the partly washed dishes were left in the sink. The glass shelves in the fridge were covered in spilt food. This area needs to be properly cleaned up daily. Providing a kettle instead of the fryer would allow washing up in HOT water. If the guests leave a mess - clean up before the next set arrive. The pool water was not clear and did not look very clean. I did not use the pool.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the Ardeche site is wonderful. Also the sites which can be seen in the other directions gave a kind of silence before the big hiking tour
Cons: Hard to find. It took us more than half an hour to get used to the area,
7.1 Good
Pros: The house and the room was really nice and comfy.
Cons: The home is located in a small village and after 8 in the evening is impossible to find anything open. Altough the room was pretty cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a view!!! The sunset was one of the best we've seen. The rooms are wide and comfortable.
Cons: The hotel is right next to a church, so every 30m the bell rings...
7.9 Good
Pros: We had a good stay at this very remote little guest house. The room was large and clean and the pool was also very nice. There is a little kitchen with some basic equipment so you can prepare your own meals and enjoy a nice evening away from it all..
Cons: You have to be aware that the guest house is located very remote. So you definitely need a car to get around and you have to be aware that there are nor near by stores or restaurants so you best bring your own food.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Throughout there was Little choice and we were more or less condemned to eat twice in ‘Le Relais’, this was no punishment at all... we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good service, staff welcoming, friendly and efficient.
7.5 Good
Pros: Delightful location close to Palais de Facteur. Charming hotel with welcoming staff. Popular restaurant with locals, lovely menu. Inexpensive bakery just over the road, supermarket with petrol 2 minutes away by car. Lovely public, outdoor swimming pool up the hill (walkable) (requires speedos style swim wear for men).
Cons: The family room accommodates 4 but with only 1 bathroom. I should have booked two double rooms instead. When we were seated for evening meal, we were directed away from the popular terrace to a deserted garden area with metal chairs. We asked to be moved back to the terrace and the staff seemed confused, but agreed to move us. I do not know why we were initially isolated away from other diners, as I could not explain my complaint to the staff due to language differences.
7.9 Good
Pros: Effortless check in procedure and very clean room with good facilities perfect for our family. The town was nice and a little off the beaten track so not just another motorway hotel.
Cons: The speed of service in the restaurant for dinner was a little slow but it was a busy evening. The breakfast could have been better.

Cons: Did not smell very good and only one light worked
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host, quiet house, peaceful location. Restaurant next door, local cuisine. Location convenient for Palais Ideal.
Cons: A shower curtain for the bathtub would have been useful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had such a good time at this hotel. The host was so incredible nice. The breakfast was lovely the dinner too. The room was tidy and we had a good sleep.
Cons: I can not think of something I don't like. I have no complains about this hotel.
