10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located a short walk from the centre of Arras, Au Coeur D'Eden is one of the best bed and breakfast's that I have stayed in. There was parking directly outside, with just a small charge for parking between 9am & 6pm. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished and decorated, with comfy beds. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge with help yourself bottled water on the landing. Residents have access to the lounge, garden room and a beautiful garden. The continental breakfast was wonderful and the hosts very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Cons: Wifi didn't extend very well to the top floor bedroom, but was perfect lower down.

Pros: Lovely hosts and our rooms were just perfect for the trip. Although we came by car we established that the property is so very closed to the station if one wanted to come by train. Breakfast was superb.

Pros: Everything, including the hotel dog Nella the French Bulldog!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location. Beautiful garden for breakfast and as a view from the room. Extremely comfortable bed. Large spacious rooms with high ceilings. Decor is attractive and the whole space is extremely clean. Host speaks perfect English. Entry is code based which is convenient - no key to lose! Nespresso coffee in room. Breakfast is reasonably priced and good quality, albeit simple. Fan was provided in the room for airflow and the very large windows could be opened entirely to cool the room. Parking is not attached to the hotel but it is a 30s walk and free overnight.
Cons: Nothing major. There is no lift but the owner will help with your luggage if you need help. There was a small amount of noise from the plumbing in the morning, presumably when other guests were showering. I stress that if I were to return to the area I would want to stay at this hotel and would use it as a base for exploring the surrounding area. I will be back to this hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, 5 minutes walk from main square but very quiet and peaceful. On street parking 50 metres away only 4 Euros for 24 hours. Superb breakfast and lovely private garden. The whole place was spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The rooms are air conditioned, bathroom fitted out to a very high standard. There is a very tranquil atmosphere. The owner was very helpful and spoke fluent English.
Cons: Just a piece of information, the hotel isn't staffed during the middle of the day and check in is from 4.00pm so don't arrive early.

Cons: No parking on site

Pros: Spacious, beautifully decorated room, with a large comfortable bed, in a lovely guest annexe, which has tea/coffee making facilities and a comfortable sitting area. Although the accommodation is in the centre of Arras, it is in a quiet location & has secure private parking. Claire-Marie is a lovely, attentive, friendly, & helpful host & provided a plentiful breakfast.
Cons: Glasses or beakers in the bedroom would be good, but it’s probably ok to take some from downstairs.

Pros: Separate to main house, rooms are in converted coach house, renovated to a very high standard. Greeted with drinks and biscuits downstairs in communal area where we ate breakfast the following morning. Excellent choices for breakfast. Good secure parking, great recommendations of restaurants-we went back for number one after having a look around.
Cons: Nothing. Access is up a narrow drive but we were assured that they drive a people carrier up so it was fine!

Claire-Marie was really welcoming, friendly, and helpful - recommending restaurants and places to visit, and prepared a lovely breakfast in the morning. Thank you Claire-Marie.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed room and shared area (though we were there on our own and had no need to share) with some special touches. The garden and surroundings are also lovely and peaceful. Delphine was wonderfully helpful and prepared an excellent breakfast for us. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.
Cons: It was quite difficult to locate a restaurant which was open in the evening and also in close proximity. We didn't realise that there was a microwave to use on the premises which could have provided a simple alternative.

Pros: Everything was perfect as usual! Bertrand and Delphine are very welcoming and helpfull!! Our home away from home when we come to lievin! Thanks for everything!!

Pros: The incredible view from our bedroom over the garden and spotting a hare jumping around few minutes after waking up. To be welcomed by sheep and rabbits as the house is set in open grounds full of wildlife. The interior design is spot on; contemporary and comfortable. Perfect for us to relax and break the journey to Paris. Perfect location if you want to visit the WWI battlefields of the Somme (Vimy, Notre-Dame de Lorette). Bertrand was lovely and helpful and we totally recommend anyone who is looking for somewhere to come and stay here. We are already planning to come back for a longer stay
Cons: To have to leave!

Pros: Everything, location silence, service, large rooms, cleanliness, garden, space all the good things you expect from a good B&B
Cons: Although bathroom and bath was modern and very clean, we missed a shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very modern accommodation in private grounds. A hidden gem with pleasant gardens. Secure and free parking. We were the only occupants for the one night stay so had the run of the house and gardens to ourselves
Cons: If there is a bar, we didn't see it, or have it pointed out to us. There are no restaurants in Souchez, or at least none were open on a Thursday evening. The adjoining village of Angres has some options. We would recommend Pizzeria Zodiaco - just a 5 minute drive away
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely top if you like some style!
Plumes & Coton - Écurie - Building

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is an absolutely beautiful B&B. The room was so tastefully decorated, large and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious as well with high-end finishes. We were in the area to visit Vimy Ridge, and this was about a 10 minute drive from there. The lovely setting continued at breakfast with the attention to detail with the place-settings and homemade jams, and our choice of several options for the meal. Highly recommend this propery!
Cons: If you are looking for much in terms of restaurants etc. in the immediate vicinity, you won't find it. That was fine for our purposes, but just be aware. My only complaint is that the host was not home when we arrived during the one hour window that I stated we would, and with the locked gate, we had no way to enter. Luckily the other guests appeared and were able to let us in and help us contact her.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent host, great breakfast, lovely property, safe and secure parking, clean and spacious room.
Cons: Unfortunately, Arras isn't a very 'happening' place - there is very little to do within walking distance.

Pros: Beautiful and quiet location, the whole experience and been very well put together. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Local dinner options are limited, you have to drive, but its a minor grumble.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are the nicest people in the world and couldn't do enough to make us welcome and comfortable. The wonderful breakfast of delicious, crusty local bread and superb croissants included fruit and walnuts from their garden. We could happily have sat and eaten everything, but that would have taken most of the day. The carefully restored house stands on a smallholding near the edge of the village and boasts a glorious 'zen' garden, vegetable patch, hens, goose, goat and donkeys. We wish we could have stayed longer and we'll certainly come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning place and excellent hosts - can’t wait to go back.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Didier and David were very welcoming and were excellent hosts. Their accommodation was warm and clean. There was produce from the garden on offer for breakfast, such as their selection of homemade jams. The red and green rhubarb jams were very good, as were their homemade croissants and baguettes.
Cons: Positively the only concern was the plumbing in the bathroom. (The toilet flush was rather inadequate - otherwise perfectly acceptable.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for visiting Arras. Great hosts. Fab breakfast. Comfortable and clean rooms set in beautiful gardens.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It’s a little gem and the hosts, Didier and David, are lovely. Helpful, informative, thoughtful and welcoming. The produce at breakfast was of a really high quality. Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the welcome, immaculate presentation and splendid breakfast
Cons: Thought there was a hot tub but there wasn’t, however this did not detract from our stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were on a three day visit to the nearby Somme for the Armistice ceremonies and stayed at La Solette for the duration. Nothing seemed too much trouble for our welcoming and hospitable hosts David and Didier. The breakfasts were especially enjoyable with homemade croissants, pastries and jams and eggs from their own hens. One morning they presented, out of the blue, a large platter of "French Toast" ... a nice touch. Safe off-street parking behind automated gates and a large and immaculately tended garden. Would we stay at La Solette again? Most certainly!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, hospitality was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Modern Rooms, well appointed, good facilities and friendly staff...although the outside area between the hotel and the restuarant next door could do with a bit of tidying up! The Hotel itself is lovely, but only once you get inside; the outside area really needs some work and parking spaces are very limited. The photo on the brochure rather wisely focusses on the entrance ! But the hotel itself, lovely...
Cons: Was charged for two breakfasts (didn't notice when I paid), even though on arrival and when I came down for breakfast I made it clear it was just me...that's 12 Euro I'm not going to see again!

Pros: Lovely friendly staff who coped with our French-Italian hybrid requests. Wonderful location, beautiful square - a location that is on the way up - and just a short work from the major squares and restaurants. A superb little town.
Cons: The restaurant was closed on Monday, but the hotel only told us when we were on our way. However, it was serendipitous as it made us walk into the centre which was spectacular in moonlight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything. The owner Isabelle was charming and upgraded us to a room with a/c She felt the room we had been allocated, would be too hot for us, as it didn’t have a/c. Nothing was too much trouble. We ll definitely go back
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Internet works badly. Continuously cuts out (above on ipad)
6.3 Good
Pros: Attitude , Isabelle was very helpful when she realized I had difficulty walking.
Cons: Restaurant. Lack of lift. Steepness of second floor stairs.

Pros: Very friendly welcome, great room (beautifully furnished) - less money than the main stream hotels and 10x better!

Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This family run hotel was the highlight of our tour, the whole family were freindly, accommodating with invaluable advice. We were so well looked after I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here, especially for the location, the restaurant, the rooms and the wonderful lakeside backdrop. This place sets a high benchmark and there is a real motivation from the owners to continually improve. We will certainly return.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Although the restaurant was closed, the chef came in earlier and prepared a set meal for us to have after arrival
Cons: Being so tired, we were offered a downstairs annex room which we accepted, unfortunately there were very loud refrigerators or something going on and off all night in a joining room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful setting, tranquil and really relaxing, surrounded by plenty of bird-life. The owners are delightful , happy to provide meals even when the restaurant isn't open to the public and helpful in every way. My husband loved the fly-fishing and we spent time visiting some of the First World War sights within easy reach too.Arras, about 30 minutes away, is well worth a visit too
Cons: Nothing. We had a lovely break.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and nice atmosphere
Cons: Main meal could have been served a little hotter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful little hotel in a lovely setting
Cons: Owners very friendly, set by a lake very tranquil
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hosts were very friendly. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was actually very drinkable (something unusual for France!) The room was warm and adequate - not spotless (quite dusty) but not "dirty". It was convenient for us in terms of distance to the ferry the next morning, but it takes a little longer than expected to get to the autoroute.
Cons: We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open on Sunday evening. There was only one quite flat pillow each - would have appreciated more pillows. The shower curtain and the hanging rail on the back of the door in the bathroom were flimsy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful setting and great friendly service.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The lady hwo welcomed us and really runs the place was corteous and willing to accommodate our wishes at every point. The continental breakfast had everything (croisants, bread, coffee, tea, jiuce, cereals, ham, cheese). The room, the corridor and stairs, everything was in perfect order and extremely clean. The terrace with an overview of the pond and the surrounding trees and bushes was a perfect place to unwind after a long and hectic drive from the Netherlands through Belgium to "La Cascade".
Cons: The more or less improvised dinner that was offered was reasonable but could have been better, certainly if there would have been more time between our same day reservation and arrival.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Elisabeth and Irek were superb they were very welcoming and friendly couple. They were always attentive and wanted to do as much as they could to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible . The room was superb and is self contained with a hall leading to our own bathroom and then to the bedroom. Making a very private area for guests. The breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of food and everything fresh!Again Elisabeth and Irek were very attentive . Got to say our overnight stay was great and set us up for the next days long drive. Thank you to Elisabeth and Irek we will see you again . Lou and Marie

Pros: Breakfast was great and the hosts were delightful!
7.5 Good
Pros: Really nice clean smart all new and well prepared. Smoke alarms etc. Big bathroom. Very well looked after.
Cons: Really nice people. I arrived late so they fed me. Perfect location if you need an overnight stay close to the Euro tunnel but far enough away from Calais.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room is large and impeccably clean as is the bathroom which is the size of a small Paris apartment. There is no tub, but it has a great shower with plenty of hot water. The listing says that the bath is "separate", but is just outside the bedroom door in a little private hallway that has a sliding door separating it from the rest of the house. The other door leads out to the veranda and can be closed and shuttered for complete privacy. There are more extras than I can list here. The room comes with a Bosch coffee maker and a dizzying variety of coffee capsules to choose from. There is also an electric kettle and several different teas. There is a small fridge that serves as a mini bar. The prices for the mini bar offerings are barely more than you would pay at the supermarket. The hosts are obsessive about providing for your every whim. We brought home some pizzas one night, and the hosts immediately set the dining table on the sun porch with plates, silverware, napkins and wine glasses. The breakfast is copious. There are lots of breads, cheeses and preserves as well as various yogurts and sliced ham. The hosts offered eggs and bacon if we wanted it. We usually choose to stay in an historic home, but this one is a typical suburban house de Provence in a subdivision not far from Arras. While it may lack the ambience of an 18th chateau, the accommodations are better than you would find in all but the most expensive hotels.
Cons: While the hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly, their cat Tchi-tcha clearly voted "no" at the family meeting where they decided to offer a room for rent. Not only did she disdain any attempt we made to entice her to come over and get scratched behind the ear, she literally refused to even look at us during our entire stay. It was really quite comical.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly family and amazingly helpful given we arrived close to 12.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host incredibly helpful, fiendly and interesting. her English was good to have a long conversation. Garden and Garden room, makes for a great space Style of house Seemed to be easy to park outside Good choice within the Continental breakfast style
Cons: Although I was within 50m of the house I could not identify the property and had to ask the host to come outside. Which she happily did :) Stairs a bit creaky, might be a problem if guests have to come in late or leave early
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was good, we were using it as a stop off for getting back to the UK so only a 60 minute journey from Calais. The accommodation had everything: room was spacious, en suite bath/shower room, fridge and microwave in the room with tea and coffee facilities. Huge back garden with swimming pool/Jacuzzi (indoor). Wide variety for breakfast and plenty of it, all in all a great place to stay for us.
Cons: Nothing, for us it was great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely reception by Annette and Ruby (dog). Lovely French breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed sitting in Annette's lovely garden in the evening and the cherries from the garden, offered for our onward journey were delicious and very much appreciated! The little fridge in the bedroom was a bonus too so that we could keep things cool in the hot weather.

Even though she was not cooking sunday night she walked me to end of road to show where takaway was.and phoned to make sure was open..lovely little dog that wanted balls throwing.lovely garden to sit in. Would have liked dip in her pool if had more time. Kettle in room. Yay!

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were doing a WWI battlefield tour, so as soon as I saw the Chateau de Couin was a triage center and medical staff headquarters, I booked rooms. What we didn't know until we arrived is that we would be stepping back in time and staying at a place that is nothing short of magical. From the minute we drove through the wrought iron gates onto the estate, we were utterly enchanted. The owners are lovingly restoring this registered historic landmark to its original glory. The interior is a combination of museum and welcoming comfort. We stayed in the family apartment, which is literally a door in the wall that opens into the coziest place we've ever stayed. There are two bedrooms with thick, comfortable beds and very fluffy pillows (hard to find in Europe.) The bathroom features a claw foot tub that actually accommodated our 6 foot tall bodies. Breakfast is sumptuous, served in the most elegant of surroundings. The view out the windows is rolling countryside and old buildings - quintessential Northern France. The owner is very knowledgeable about the property and is a historian in her own right, telling individual stories of people who passed through the Chateau. Access to the sights we visited was surprisingly easy. The town of Albert is about a 20 minute drive (note that restaurants there open at 6:30 or later for dinner!) and most everything we visited was no more than a 40 minute drive. We spent some time learning about the Chateau as well. It has a great deal of history. I cannot imagine a more perfect place for us to have landed on this trip. We recommend this place enthusiastically!
Cons: This isn't a negative, just a note. You may have to open the wrought iron gates to enter the property. We were a bit unsure the first time, but it is fine. Just leave them as you found them.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Not only a grand Chateau, this is also the home of the owner Veronique. For the same price as a featureless mid-range hotel, this congenial house is a a once-in-a-lifetime chance to soak up the history and atmosphere of the area. We had the two bed suite for four of us (two adults, two children) and their little minds were blown. It also a has a pool. I couldn’t think why you’d stay anywhere else.
Cons: Couldn’t criticise.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A fabulous authentic old chateau in an attractive part of the French countryside within close driving distance of Arras and other WW1 sites. Veronique, the owner, was outstanding in helping us when our rental car broke down and was able to negotiate a replacement for us.

Pros: A very beautiful and conveniently located home around corner from Place de Heros. Josephine was very attentive and timely with her responses to my needs. Thank you. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Room was hot and couldn't open lone window. But Central Europe is going thru a heatwave and most older homes have no AC. A minor inconvenience.

Pros: Owner Brigitte and Lucy both very friendly and helpful. Arras centre location excellent and with very close parking available.

Pros: What a find! We wanted just an overnight stay on our way back home from the South of France. This was great, easy to find from the A26, and then just an hour and a half away from Calais the next day. Mélanie, the hostess, could not have been more welcoming, and the dinner she prepared for us (we’d pre-ordered a meal) was superb; homemade, fresh ingredients, all local, some from her own garden. It was restaurant standard and delicious. The best meal we’d had all holiday, to be honest! Our room was clean, beautifully decorated, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was just as good as dinner had been - far too much food for us, but excellent quality and all in all, wonderful value for money. We intend to go back next time we visit France.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very unique hotel. We liked the concept of this facility.
Cons: The bedding and towels are washed with a scented laundry detergent. The smell bothered my wife tremendously. I suggest the owners attempt to use scent free detergent as lots of people now cannot handle perfume scents.

Pros: Everything was lovely. The accommodations perfect and the beds were comfy. My only ask or recommendation would be to provide a fan for the upstairs bedrooms as the airflow was minimal. That aside, I would completely recommend this quaint little gem of a gite.
