Pros: Everything about the Mainport Design Hotel in Rotterdam is a thoughtful, and comfortable design experience. From it's location overlooking the historic harbor and adjacent to the Erasmus Bridge to position next to the Tram transit stop...is a well connected position in Rotterdam. My room was very comfortable and a high-design style. Service was excellent throughout, not stuffy or pretentious, but well mannered and accessible. Some 5-star hotels trying too hard to be exceptional, making the visitor feel like it's a privilege just being a guest. But I felt that the hotel and staff really are proud of their facility and are eager to share the good vibe with their clients.
Cons: Only getting to stay two nights.
Located in Centrum, this luxury hotel is within a 5-minute walk of Rotterdam Walk of Fame and Maritime Museum. Erasmus Bridge and De Koopgoot are also within 15 minutes.
Pros: Location was perfect, room large, comfortable and clean. Staff very helpful.
Cons: No parking facilities, but underground garage just minutes away.
This 3-star hotel is behind the historic Nieuwe Kerk. Hotel de Emauspoort has free Wi-Fi and a lounge. Delft Central Train Station is a 12-minute walk away. Each of the individually decorated accommodations features a TV, city or courtyard view and some have a desk. The private bathrooms at Hotel de Emauspoort have a shower. There is a lounge where you can relax and enjoy a drink. In the direct surroundings of Emauspoort there is a wide variety of lunchrooms and restaurants. The TU Delft and Museum De Porceleyne Fles is a 7-minute drive from Emauspoort. The A13 highway is a 5-minute drive away. The Hague and Rotterdam are both 20 minutes away by car.
Pros: The hotel is renovated and up to the latest standards of comfort and luxury. It is quiet and soundproofed. Food is excellent.
Cons: The only thing to criticize is Internet speed but they do offer a fast paid version if you need that.
Pros: Location is what we were looking for.
Very good hotel with friendly staff.

Hotel was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Never actually made it to Leiden as were happy in the room and then choose to go to the restaurant. We made the right choice, the restaurant was excellent and well worth a good quality meal. Room was great and we had a great sleep here.
Pros: Room was very comfortable, bathroom was really nice with jetted tubs
Cons: long walk to room, renos underway, which forced us to carry suitcases all the way around, upstairs to get to elevator.

At the time of arrival we were assigned with a breakfast timeslot, but they did not mention this wasn't in our booking and turned out to cost us extra money. I think this is a ground-rule of hotel hospitality to at least mention this to customers who do not have breakfast booked including pricing. After checking out we felt trapped with the breakfast we thought was included but the staff basically told it was our fault and we could check with our booking which obviously isn't much of an answer to the question why this wasn't told us in the first place. In the night we had a very bad time sleeping due to noisy upstair neighbours who kept talking, calling and moving furniture around the room at 1.30 am. When we complained to the reception, no action was taken, except from the fact that we got a different breakfast timeslot. Location and rooms are great, but we are not going to this hotel again due to the fact that the staff is generally unwilling to comfort their guests. I thought a major hotel-business like Golden Tulip would be more actionable on this, so this was a major letdown.
Pros: Location is great, at walking distance from the city centre which is lovely. Parking isn't too expensive (around 12,50 a day).
Cons: The breakfast was in shifts, and only uncomfortable timeshifts were available at the time we arrived. We had a very bad night of sleep due to noisy upstair neighbors. After complaining to the reception they didn't do anything about it.

Pros: Conveniently located near Erasmus University, and bus stop is right in front. I was offered upgrade (superior > executive) at EUR25/night upon C/I, which included free minibar w/ Nespresso & mineral water, bath lobe, slippers, broadband access (upgrade from wifi), and high floor (less noise and better view), which I though was a good deal. Room was spacious, nice and clean. Comfy firm mattress. Breakfast was offered at two levels, EUR 9.50 for continental, or EUR 19 for buffet (many choices of meat/cheese/pastries/juice, enough for consecutive stay). 'Breakfast included' rate meant buffet. Dinner was good, with enough selection of glass wines, a little pricey though. No other restaurants nearby, except for on-campus HOT SPAR and food court.
