room clean and comfortable difficult to get to without a car spent a lot of money on taxis
clean and tidy nice meals friendly staff
Excellent staff and good food
convenience, friendly staff, ease of parking and proximity of car park to inn. Food was very good. we had a pleasant stay. Traffic noise at night very bad. Shower in bathroom unusable-tied up with sticky tape.
The convenience of the location and easy parking The room wasn't spotlessly clean heated towel rail didn't work
Great food, friendly staff and very clean and comfortable room. Will use again Nothing
The staff were fantastic but the situation may change as most are leaving to go to another hotel. No.
We liked the staff who were friendly, helpful and ironic in a good way. The nearby road, the nescafe for breakfast!!!
Convenient location, clean and comfortable I have been overcharged, £59, instead of the advertised £49
Friendly bar staff, size of rooms & bathrooms Next to a very noisy dual carriageway. Wireless internet connection was weak and patchy.
Good breakfasts - good servicing of room No
I stay at about 3 different hotels per week around the UK. I have stayed here over the past 18 months, and sadly the standards have gone down over this time.
location to business appointment the room had flies (4) and ladybirds which had to be disposed of for peace and quiet (once the lights were out. The "builders" below were noisy (doors repeatedly banging) and swearing and loud voices could be easily heard until late (11pm)
Tired looking hotel, requires renovation. Room backed onto noisy service yard.
The room was comfortable and breakfast was good. A young lad who was on reception when we arrived said he would call us a taxi. When we came down to reception at the arranged time he said he hadn't been able to book one. It would have Been nice if he had called us in our room and told us that.
The congeniality of the staff. The tea used was very bad Irish Breakfast Tea and not enough milk supplied to the rooms.
Good Basic room, big bar and very nice cooked breakfast Mattress pretty uncomfortable as springs coming through (room 3)
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not overheated and was easy to ventilate. The shower needed some attention. The breakfast order was slow coming because it was not written down as we ordered, and some unwanted items were served.
A good menu range. There was no where comfortable to sit and relax and enjoy a pint, the whole hotel seems to be geared for food service
Stayed here 2 nights made us very comfortable we got back late one night and they still managed to make us a lovely meal the young girl behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the price is very reasonable. It's a bit out in the sticks we found it difficult to get to other places.
Great breakfast-was worried about partner's reaction to a "continental" breakfast- he is still going on about how good it was. Parking plenty of it and close to accomodation. Nice rooms and breakfast area. Convenient position, easy to find, lots to do/see nearby in a lovely area None
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Did not spend enough time there!
Nice quiet clean room away from the road. Plenty of car parking Very popular at lunchtime suggested they are doing something right. Disappointingly small room, very dim lights in the bathroom, bed sagged in the middle, too soft for us, not a good nights sleep. Strange 'modern but baronial tudor' furniture in a newly built room.
Our stay at the Camden Arms was excellent. We can not fault it in any way.The staff were very professional and yet very friendly and welcoming. The room we had was beautiful. N/A
Nice sized room, with good facilities.
Although we arrived late in the day after a wedding, the room was very comfortable and homely.
Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable and quiet. Bathroom had shower but not bath. Ate at the restaurant and food was good. Buffet breakfast fine. In all no complaints and seemed pretty good value to me. The only downside to the hotel is that you are outside of tunbridge wells here so need to drive in and out.
Clean, friendly, lively hotel, but very traditional feel too. The staff were outstanding - we arrived late on Saturday evening after the kitchen had closed, but even without us asking, they offered to provide sandwiches and tea or coffee. The room, although small, was beautifully appointed with luxury touches. We were there for an event at a local castle, but hope to go back next year for a longer stay when we will use the hotel as a base to explore local stately homes and the countryside. Highly recommended. Very minor - it was a shame that the shower was not as strong as it could have been. Nothing else!
Quiet room, good breakfast and the old pub, which forms part of the hotel.
My room was clean and tidy with a modern ensuite and the usuals TV, good hairdryer etc. The breakfast was good and the laid out nicely. I ate in the pub during the evening, the food was good and as expected
It's a very centrally situated hotel, well furnished and decorated. The staff go that extra mile for you by providing tea & coffee during the afternoon if you wish to return to the hotel. The breakfast has several options and public rooms are light and airy. The outer door is always locked, which makes it an ideal hotel for singles particularly women who may be nervous on their own. Don't know about disabled access as you have to climb steep steps to the reception. Once inside there is a good sized lift.
Comfortable room, excellent location, breakfast and very good staff which were helpful and polite.
If you want a fine dining experience with wonderful personal service this is the Guest House for you. The best meal I have ahd in England in the 2 years we have lived here. I would go for the evening meal and service alone. We stayed in the cottage and it was nicely done. Small put that is the period small rooms It was very clean and excellent that wanted to cook a meal themselves
very welcoming, nice gardens
Very accomodating as we arrived very late, having broken down. Good quality food at breakfast. no
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, nice gardens The only, inescapable minus is the road noise
Too near a main raod
very nice welcome, helpful and courteous. The person who welcomed us even lent me an ipod charger that I needed. The room was clean and well equipped with a well positioned tv. Nice tea selection and minibar. The other person that we spoke to, who may have been the chef, was very rude. We had had dinner in Eastbourne, as I thought the hotel restaurant would already be fully booked (partly because no asked us whether we wanted to reserve), so when we got back at about 9pm, we thought it might be nice to have dessert, so asked politely if they could accomodate us. The chef said, "no certainly not", and walked off without another word. I was quite surprised, I do understand it's a set menu, but we had asked a perfectly polite and quite normal question, a courteous or friendly reply would have been appreciated. The bed was also hard as rock.
Excellent food and charming and helpful staff
Excellent personal attention to my very particular breakfast needs - nothing was too much trouble for David the host, who was most obliging. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens
The staff are very friendly and chatty! Breakfast was wonderful! No hot water in the morning. The shower was very poor - either very hot or very cold
Hotel decorated well and the owner was welcoming. The standard of food was good. Situated on busy, noisy a27 which made building shake. This prevented us opening a window, making the room rather stuffy. Staying in Room 1, all noise from the hall of guests leaving restaurant was clearly heard by us in our room. Small and dated shower cubicle.
It was peaceful and relaxing.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean, with nice fresh linen, plenty of tea and coffee, and a kettle for us to use. The hotel was nice and quiet at night, Cosy bar area and good food. They were a little understaffed, presumably because we went out of season. We often had to wait a while at the bar or reception or go looking for someone.
comfortable and friendly- especially in the snow!!! although I had a non- smoking room as requseted it was next to a smoking room which I could smell quite badly-perhaps there could be non smoking rooms in a block together?
Friendly, polite and helpful staff. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.
quiet and beautiful setting
One of the better hotels I have stayed in, in the UK. A bit understaffed though
Very friendly service. Room was of a good standard, very comfortable and quiet. Good night's sleep!
relaxing easy atmosphere. Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. Best find yet!
Quiet, with friendly staff. It's a bit shabby and could do with redecorating. Wallpaper peeling in the dining room.
The food, the service & the real ale
Very creaky floorboards throughout the building, kept awake with the noise. Not really an hotel, more a pub with rooms. No real reception or concierge facility. Over priced for what was nothing more than a basic bed and breakfast.
The town No parking; dirty, stained carpet; non-working light;tiny TV and no remote control; dingy furnishings; not offered choices at breakfast; no side-plate/clean knife for toast; only marmalade for toast--no choice of jams etc; no choice of juice; table not cleaned before we sat down.
Excellent value very friendly> Parking was difficult.
staff were friendly and welcoming. Feel of a country pub with the convenience of an hotel. Good location for sightseeing and eating out
Friendly staff and home comforts of Hotel room. I became unwell in the evening and the staff were very supportive and kind. no
Staff very helpfull food and drink very good standard, Parking was not to good
The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. The location was excellent; opposite Battle Abbey and close to many footpaths. The room was small for the price.
Very friendly and helpful staff; good location for Battle Abbey and the battlefield where the battle of Hastings was fought The shower didn't work (apparently there's a switch outside the door to the bathroom); the room walls were very thin; the coffee at breakfast was appalling
