Pros: We came to this area since my ancestors lived there back 1'000 years. Everything was perfect and the breakfast and Kastren was delightful.
Pros: Fantastic room, the room is the same as the photos, very clean and quiet
With a stay at Goldener Anker in Bodenwerder (Holzminden District), you'll be 15 minutes by car from Kloster Amelungsborn. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: River side location and easy walk to town center
Cons: The shower goes from hot to cold and back to even hotter when somebody else is running water next door
Pros: Good bicycle storage. Great breakfast. Our room looked out at the Weser and was quiet. Friendly owner.
Cons: Bed was a little hard. Lighting was minimal near the desk.
Pros: Size and location of the room.
Pros: Very nice hotel locate at picturesque part of the ton. Facing the river and the forest. Very relaxing. Check-in was a bit odd, as the door was closed and we had to call the owner, but he made it in no time. The room was clean and comfy. Enjoyed our stay.
Cons: The price we've paid was higher than quoted on booking. Not by whole lot, but still... And, been newbie to booking the request for payment by the owner was unexpected, but we quickly sorted it out.
Pros: The hotel has a great location on the bank of the Weser River in the center of Bodenwerder.
Cons: Some of the rooms look out on the river and I presume they are quite nice. Others (like mine and that of my friend) don't. These rooms are not very nice. The hotel is understaffed. It works with a single person at the reception. There is no one there in the evenings. The feeling is that they are trying to cash in on their location but aren't willing to invest much in running a nice place to stay.
Pros: very nice location, in pedestrian area, near a lake
Cons: breakfast is OK, but nothing special TV remote control or TV was not working
Pros: The apartment is very unique (decorated according baron Munchausen's tales). We were a family and had 2 double beds at the same room which was fine (the room was big enough). It is located in the old town just by the river which was very convenient. In general, the city is very beautiful and relaxing.
Cons: Our room had an extra room (kind of a balcony) with a glass door between. A curtain to block the sun for those who like to sleep late would be helpful.
With a stay at Hotel Road House in Hehlen (Holzminden District), you'll be 12.2 mi (19.6 km) from Schauglasblaeserei and 12.2 mi (19.6 km) from Kloster Amelungsborn. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very nice staff, good food on site. Parking was good and room was clean, double entry door on room kept everything nice and quiet. Skylights in the bedroom and bath allowed for a nice breeze. Location is quiet and night sky was full of stars, due to the remote location.
Cons: The fatal ingredient in my stay occurred just before I retired, I heard a rustle at my door and another guest appeared inside my room, despite a locked door. His key, to another room opened my door. He quickly apologized and exited, recognizing his error. I wasn't really concerned, (2 meters tall, 130 kilo) but if it had been my wife, I would have been very concerned about the incident. Check security issues before you book at this property or plan on sleeping with a roller bag or chair against the door.
