Friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff made the stay at this lovely hotel a pleasure.
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Great coffee! Facilities are clean and rooms are spacious. Beautifull location and views. No
Peace and quiet. The location was such that apart from the occassional a passing car it was a relaxing place to stay. The fact that you had to drive to the Hotel Restaurant.
Good comfortable hotel in a quite location. Facing the rural country side, it is very relaxing staying here. For diner, the restaurant of the hotel is 4 minutes by car away from the hotel location. The restaurant as spectacular views of the country side, and is worthwile visiting
Everuthing was better than expectation. Food was good for dinner and breakfast. If you want to relax, I recommend this hotel. Nothing at all.
Very friendly staff, beautiful facility, good restaurant and nice location just outside Aachen. Would recommend highly to anyone visiting the area.
Kasteel Vaalsbroek is located between Aachen, Maastricht, Heerlen in a very green environment. Great for a hiking and little road trips to the Eifel area. The rather soft separate beds..
Friendly staff; excellent food; attractive grounds. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of the spa. Bed was soft and uncomfortable. Shower did not function properly, although when we told them (at the end of our stay) the staff apologized and assured us it would be fixed.
Clean , new , everything was well organised No
nice comfortable hotel called a "castle hotel" and hardly any castle things or sphere available restaurant not sufficient for number of guest for both diner and breakfast
Excellent facilities and beautiful surroundings. Lovely room and a good evening meal in the lovely restaurant. Breakfast was good too! No complaints; we wish we could have stayed longer! No
Everything but especially the friendliness of the staff.
the location is wonderful and quiet and the ambiance is very good. A good place to start nice trips. the time on which we could have dinner. You had to choose and the times were not nice for us. So we went to Vaals where there are nice places to eat.
It is not a hotel, but a "guest-processing facility" and not a very good one. Common parts are scruffy, staff are invisible, there is no warmth or atmosphere(no heating in my room despite snow on the ground outside) and the food was mediocre.
Location excellent None
the spa and the swiming pool room to small, no internet conection, a bit rundown
the room we were upgraded to was excellent, the receptionist who delt with our complaint about the original room was excellent. the room we were given to begin with was way below standard and if we had had to stay in that room and not have the option of upgrading it would have turned a very good stay into a very bad one
Swimmingpool is very nice.Breakfest was excellent. Familyrooms for stay with children. Why did you not mention that slippers and bathrobe are obligatory and that you have to pay 12 € to rent it.Idem parking 5€ per night
convenient location and excellent breakfast. Room was comfortable. Carpets in corridors were not clean, room was a bit dusty. Ridiculous price for internet connection. The whole place apart from restaurant needs tidying up, and perhaps re-design.
Swimming pool/spa While in a non-smoking room, the corridor we had to use to get to our room stunk of cigerette/cigar smoke.
swimming pool over priced for the quality of the room
This hotel was awesome. My family and I stayed in a family room that was pefect. It was close to downtown, the shopping, and the Christmas Markets. The staff is very friendly and most speak multiple languages. Breakfast Buffett was also good and worth the 12.5 pp. The restaraunt is very pricey.....plan to eat diner else where if you are looking for value.
The reception staff is helpful. There is no refrigerator and smoking smell in non-smoking room.
Really nothing Very applicable!!A misearable room,no services, old and weary towels,no tissues paper,no room service.Maybe can be considered as two star hotel!!!!
Love going to breakfast in a robe and not putting on real clothes the entire stay! Liked being able to use spa, robe and towel even after check out.
Wonderful facilities, efficient staff and good food. We have been going to Thermae 2000 for 5 years and it has never disappointed. Much better than equivalent British spas.
February is a quiet month in which you can enjoy all the water and heat in a very comfortable way. Themae 2000 is build on a beautiful spot, it supplies views and it is surrounded with some impressive big trees. The building is a great design and the sauna's are among the best in the lowlands! The system with a keycard for the door and a paper card with your roomnumber for the restaurant does not work. You have to take both into the spa. Apparently the staff is working on this problem. I hope they will develop or purchase a system with a wristband or a pin that opens your door and can be used in the restaurants and does not show your roomnumber. I don't get it why you have to get dressed when you want to be into the swimmingpool area.
A very comfortable hotel with a fantastic breakfast
It was very busy and could have used more staff on duty, some staff in the restaurant areas could be a bit friendlier, although others were very good. would be nice to also have hot water pool on the 'sauna' side
clean, calm and relaxed nature of the hotel and facilities. Not being able to make a tea or coffee in the rooms.
it is a wellness hotel which means you relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings, warm water and spa treatments
The Spa and hotel facilities all under one roof
Relaxing in the SPA, enjoying healthy food and visiting the village. Carpet on the floor. The room was clean but the terrace was dirty. Staff not always responding to the client's needs. Old fashion rooms and bed not really confortable.
Everything was wonderful, we enjoyed hanging out in our pool-bath robes. It was a very relaxing get-a-away. Staff was great. We will return
It is a fine building and well converted to a hotel, very spacious. Lots of pleasant sitting areas, great dining room and excellent breakfast and evening meal. Grounds around the hotel also very pleasant Service in the restaurant was a bit slow fot he second sitting in the evening
The diningroom, The comfortable Castel luxury room. Personel extremely nice and ofcourse the "lastminute" price for the booking and an upgrade for 15 euros per night. For years they have the policy to pay for your internet minutes. I think that in this time it should be free of charge as it is in so many other hotels. (Free Wifi) Breakfast of 15.50 euro is rather expensive, which we have not taken. I don't need smoked salmon early in the morning..
the hotel and its grounds were lovely, and the common rooms quite elegant. the individual rooms were well appointed and comfortable the bathroom had a number of problems - it smelled bad, as if there were a sewer leak, and the hot water in the shower didn't work.
the class of this hotel is excellent, in view of the price a bargain. in spite of the information their was no Wheelchair room. But the room we had was large enough for ours scootmobiel to stand in.
It was a beautiful building with kind and helpful staff and the food in the restaurant was to "die for!" I felt that the modern art in the grounds were not in keeping with the building and setting
We were given a very large comfortable "standard" room (perhaps because we were staying 5 nights, but it was quiet and clean. Shower needed a good scrub and / or re-grouting.
Wonderful building with lots of history. It was immaculate and the staff were very welcoming. Nothing
We enjoyed the wonderful ambience.
The hotel is nice and quirt, located in a park. The room was big and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is excellent but the service was not very professional. The barroom is a bit old fashion (standard room) and not very comfortable. The room was cold when we arrived; the personal arranged the heating problem
We only stay one night on our way to france. We arrived to you and after five hours driving it was nice to have a break and we toke room service and it was good. Good night sleep and then out on the highway again so we dont use the Hotels facilities. Breakfast was wery good.
The new building is pleasant, nice rooms and bathrooms. In the older part of hotel the rooms are not so charming. Good selection for breakfast.
You get buffet breakfast and its only 10 min walk to the nearest train station The service wasn't good. I had no t.v in the room, had to ask 4 times! and it took 2 days!
Very effective heating ! Friendly and helpful staff Bed linen was clean, but a little discoloured
Good location, close to train station. Decent breakfast. As expected for what we paid. Room door lock was not secure. The lobby was full of cigarette smoke. No front desk staff at 7:15am when we wanted to check out.
First I was given the key to an already occupied room. Then I was given a room on the first floor - very loud, and not secure (windows open onto the flat roof, accessible to other guests.)
The hotel staff, which was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in this hotel for the second time. The first time I had a room in the new part of the hotel. This time I had a room in the old part. The rooms in the old part are very small and not so comfortable as the new ones.
The braekfast was good. The room was bright, clean, and roomy. The bathroom was clean and modern with plenty of hot water. The hotel is real close to the train station. I would stay there again. Not much I didn't like.
friendlystaff location clean and tidy room good chioce of breakfast no
The bedroom, the hotel staff and the location of the hotel, which was perfect because it was only a 10 minutes' walk to the train station and it is just 20 minutes from Maastricht. The restaurant. You are not able to order your dinner a la carte. Only a 3 meal-menu.
The araff were nice Very old, need to make renovating in the breakfast and dining room
Nice environment Nice dining room Good food Room is not confortable Old fashioned Too dark
Large junior apartment suite was well furnished, including well equipped kitchenette. Grounds were nicely done and provided a very peaceful setting. "King bed" was really 2 twin beds stuck together.
spa facilities and the luxurious feeling of the room (we got an upgrade to a suite appartment) two barking dogs in the room next to us
Your booking.com reservation did not come through: there was none! What happened with the reservation?
The junior suite was a private as your own appartment Nothing
great staff, always willing to help with even the most ridiculous requests...bistro dinner and buffet breakfasts were great
excellent renovation and architecture, very nice surroundings the hotel could use a full time concierge. the information given by the receptionists was not accurate, and kind of ruined our night (wanted to go to valkenburg christmas opening and told us that it was not open. Stayed in the hotel and missed the opening of the Christmas fair and the fireworks)
The apartments were well appointed, restaurant excellent, and the grounds beautiful. A bit of an effort to get to without a car, although the shuttle service to Maastricht station was very welcome. Staff very helpful and attentive. Also very interesting with St Gerlach's chapel and museum on the grounds. Stairs in the apartment were quite steep, if you are at all incapacitated ask for a ground floor room.
The grounds and the facilities were beautiful. I would have liked the breakfast to be included in the price of the room.
gardens, buildings, rooms, restaurants, staff, setting in the countryside, all excellent. no
The addition of evening entertainment was a bonus
Hotel's close proximity to Valkenburg rail station and city Centrum and free vehicle parking in a private lot at the hotel. Bathroom was clean. Most staff was friendly and helpful. Room and hallways in our wing of the hotel had a decidedly musty smell. Hotel should add some security to its one guest-accessible internet computer; a user (probably a guest's kid) apparently had been able to switch the default wallpaper to an inappropriate and offensive image.
Management and staff very helpful with particular praise towards bar staff for their good humour and making a party atnosphere
Information on train service, local site seeing / walk tour map, etc. Should allow guest to use atleast two hours after check-in time, if required.
when I came from out side at 4 pm the room door was opened and the towels not change the bath romm was not cleaan.
Quiet environmen, but close to transport. Yes, lack of internet. Only one computer terminal available for the whole hotel. Wireless network would be ideal,
Convenient in terms of transport and the counter service is good. The bartender is entertaining. Poor facilities such as no curtain in the bathroom - the floor is wet after bath; no internet connection, no water boiler in the room; I would rather to pay more to have these basic facilities.
The very friendly and helpful staff, all of them, you should be congratulated on your staff training! The breakfast was OK but having to walk all the way to the buffet and back to your table was a bit much. Could the breakfast bar not be in the middle of the vast room? The dreadful music, a bit thighclapping and hopsa heisa.
The breakfast selection and quality of food were great. The bed was comfortable. Parking was free. Good value for money! The towels were kind of worn out. Internet was not free.
Very good bedroom. Wide choice of food in restaurant, which was excellent quality and reasonably priced. No
just for the weekend overnight and excellent breakfast buffet a very nice hotel
Room was comfortable, restaurant open long hours, convenient and easy. It's not cheap, no free internet access, and not very personal, but it does what it does efficiently
There was some refurbishing going on which made me wake up early. However, the staff treated this in a good manner afterwards.
The quality of facilities, for example the bar and restaurant
Coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice.
the customer service of the hotel staff overall was very poor not very happy with their attitude especially the restaurant staff restaurant and bar
Easy access from motorway. No airconditioning. Too much noise from motorway. Unattended water leak in bathroom.
Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge, breakfast room and bar area were beautifully decorated, and it was lovely to have a space where one could sit and relax. Smoking is still allowed in public areas in the Netherlands, and as non-smokers we found this a problem- unfortunately the smell from the bar travelled all the way up to the room (on the top floor).
Very Convenient, good off road parking, good value breakfast
We picked this hotel because we wanted to be near the town centre for the christmas markets, the hotel was perfect and we would stay there again.
Very well managed, staff were low key but on call if you needed anything, friendly. Good reception rooms, good beer, large bed room. Could have done with more towels in the bathroom
views from apartment, swimming pool/sauna breakfast, cleanliness roadworks outside hotel created lengthy diverts for the weekend
New Piscine and Sauna, brand new building. Unfriendly at morning! Not very special breakfast.
Lovely landscape , beautiful small hotel in the countryside ... peaceful , clean and a special thanks to the owners who received us very well.Is was in fact a wonderfull stay. Just one thing, the equipment in the toilette makes a lot of noise (bath, flush...)
The owners of this hotel were pleasant and very accomodating. The hotel was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed it immensely and reccommend it to everyone! Absolutely nothing!
Nice swiming pool and sauna,, very kind and professional staff, nice location in the country side, quiet place, very clean rooms.
Location, View, Internet access, comfort of room, staff. Evening meal - poor quality, all starters and main courses full of salt. Smoking allowed in lounge/bar - very smoky.
The location was very nice as was the very helpful staff.
Very clean, quiet and very nice landscape. A little too expensive price per room. An additional payment for a very little balcony, most part of the rooms having their own balcony.
Friendly personal touch, family run with a welcoming atmosphere, quiet rural surroundings
The staff were very friendly and given we didn't speak any Dutch were very willing and able to help us understand things about the hotel. The public rooms in the hotel were beautiful and the food was excellent by any standard. The room itself was very pleasant but lacked basic amenities like the ability to make tea and coffee.
One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Lovely quiet village, fantastic friendly and helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, excellent food. Perfect weekend, thank you. I will be back.
all very nice people with a high quality in service Beautiful room and very good food. no
staying in a castle was very special
The service was excellent and the hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful.
The stay was an unique experience, the atmosphere uncomparable and the whole thing just, literally, wonderful !
The location is perfect - close to nature, near the natural park (we've seen deers here). The castle is also very picturesque (expept the new connected part of the building with the lift which is nothing common with the castle). The personnel speaks very good English and very helpful. Common areas are very rich decorated and you feel yourself in a real castle here. The breakfast is not very varied but of a good quality products (the view from the restaurant is also great). No sound isolation (you can even see lots of light from the door at night). The light in the bathroom can be switched on only together with the ventilation which is very loud - at night you can't use the light. The stairs extremely scratching (but beatiful) and the lift (we used once) is a challenge - extremely slow and you will be feared a bit :) The restaurant was closed on 8 p.m. (as all in the area).
The staff where very friendly.
The environment Not very helpful
Dinner (Menu) was excellent! The location is the centre of the city, and it was very quiet. The toillet and the shower cabin don't have enough space. Man feels very tight.
Wished we could have stayed longer, wonderful hotel really cosy, clean and welcoming, continental breakfast was huge.
The breakfast, the place where hotel is situated ( very near center but no noise), small hotel We were surprised by small size of the room. This is also reason why we find value for money "fair".
Pleasant service and atmosphere, set menu dinner was good value Excessive street noise from local bars probably due to Hollands participation in UEFA football
Friendly receptionist. Pre - arranged parking. Good breakfast. Good central position to the town centre. Rather tired decoration in our family room. Cramped with adition of bunk beds which had no ladder, or side bar to prevent a child from falling out (would not have been suitable if our children had been younger). Given one bottle of shower gel for 4 of us (to shower with each twice !) This hotel was expensive for an overnight stay, it had rather off putting list of 'rules' in the welcome brochure in the room and was old fashioned in its attitude to families
location, everything we required very close by
Quaint and comfortable
The hotel was very convenient for a car show that we were attending. Unfortunately our stay in early July coincided with a heatwave and the lack of air-conditioning made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep, despite being loaned a fan for some of the time.
Staff very friendly and approachable. Breakfast service excellent. Lack of air conditioning was a problem. As was the location of the room on the first night (facing on to the main road). The temperature was very high and when the windows were opened the noise was incredibly loud. Although, it should be noted that when we requested a room change, this request was met.
Vey friendly staff - When I asked at the reception I they had toothpaste as I had forgotten mine, they unfortunately didn't have any (in a 4 star hotel ????), but the friendly barman/receptionist gave me a tube of his own to help me out. Breakfast was crowded, but very good The room wasn't just small as advertised, but very small The tv was also tiny - so small that it was difficult to see the programme. There was no shower curtain/glass and you could only shower by holding the showerhead as there was no wall fitting to hang it on. Overall, we didn't think that the hotel was deserving of a four star rating - At the most a low 3
Nice staff Room rather basic
Located very close to town centre.Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.Rooms comfortable.Good breakfast. We stayed at the weekend and had a room at the front of the hotel, noise from the road outside, both traffic and revellers, went on tll quite late.
The place Valkenburg Bussy traffic in front
The location and staff were excellent. The breakfast was very nice including breads, meats cheese and cereals. There also was a cappucino machine which was a plus.
the relatively low price it is a four starr hotel, but when you use the television set in the room at normal volume, the neigbor starts instantaneously to knock on your door due to too much noise in his/her (in this case: her) room; the floor of my room was skewed (different levels at different sides of the room); the room had no window, but only a balcony door with a rather small window in it; all by all not the level of comfort you would expect from a 4 starr hotel!
