Position, near beach Price of the food in the restaurant in the evening. Very expensive for the type of hotel. Because everything else closed in the village, meant we had to drive at night for food. Indoor swimming pool was already closed for refurbishment.
The hotel has a great view and is situated directly on the sandy beach, which is quite long. Rooms have been updated, and feature a very nice patio overlooking the sea. We drove past it twice, as it is situated behind a traffic circle and somewhat hidden from view. The private parking lot is also not marked, and not straightforward access. Some ammenities missing from room, such as mini-bar, glassware, facial tissues, etc.
Relaxation (and weather!). Liked everything.
Location fantastic, reception staff very helpful and friendly. Amenities great.
we were pleased with the accomodations. The room was clean and adecuate in siz.e. Right on the beach. Breakfast was the best we had in France.
Location was really good for us needing a relaxing, unhurried short stay - but don't tell too many people as we wish to return!! It was unspoilt and rural France, yet close to bigger resorts if sort after Please let us know about your special deals as we gather opening longer in 2008 Shame the indoor pool was being worked on (as quiet season for them and H & S ruling) and slightly understaffed when arrived - see above
Easy access to the beach with semi-indoor pool was great. Reception staff were delightful and very helpful, the hotel was quiet at night so got good sleep. Fantastic views over the bay. The breakfast room is a real let down - decor is soviet in starkness. However, the worst let-down is the coffee - served from an automatic dispenser which reminds one of being in a large open plan office - it tastes truly awful. I really look forward to a relaxing coffee over breakfast on holiday - this was a huge disappointment and not worthy of a 3 star hotel. I ended up going out to the local cafe instead.
Being yards from the beach and sunbeds Being a 3 star hotel , it lacked usual ammenties -like a lounge, fridge in room, and tea making facilities.Corridors were very tired and could do with new carpets. Not a lot of variety on evening meals.
Our room was very clean and spacious. Corridors were shabby. could have done with a refridgerator
the staff was very nice; the kitchen was excellent and the room and the view were fantastuc The internet did not functiond well
Absolutely amazing view from the room balcony, very pleasant and comfortable room . Hotel beach is rather small and it was a very big problem to get the place (sun lounger with umbrella) as we were at the Hotel in August when the place was overcrowded. The system is that you need to reserve the place in advance and when you come to the beach there are a lot of empty loungers but you cannot use them as they are reserved by somebody else. But if you pay to beach boy you may solve the problem...
Beautiful views, very friendly staff, good facilities. Beds were very uncomfortable
We really liked the location and the facilities of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No complaints.
Great beach.....pool and food!
The view. The room was also fairly large and at a decent standard. Small pool and solarium, private beach small and not cleaned up, poor facilities in relation to the hotel class - cheap schampoo, no conditioner, except BBC World and CNN no international cable channels, no mpay per view option, no possibility to borrow/rent dvd player.
Location, location, location. Simply stunning. Prices and choices in restaurant. Not helped I guess though by current rates of exchange.
The view was phenomenal, the beach private and relaxing. Location was private, tucked away, yet not too far from larger cities.
Something unusual was thar as far as I could tell, allthe staff were French (?!) The bouillabesse in the restaurant.Expensive and not very good.
Beautiful view would revisit. Helpful staff. Nice simple fresh decor. Bathroom . Bath/shower was terrible and leaked all over floor. No ladder out of sea. Bar area could be enhanced and more staff at actual bar.
the location, the room, the atmosphere and the staff
This hotel is under new management and is excellent. Great location from the pool area into deep water sea swimming. Excellent staff, Great rooms. Good parking. Superb lunches and dinners in two separate superbly located venues. 10 minute walk down to the harbourside restaurants of Cavalerie and its long beach. 25 minute drive to the long St Tropez beach. Breakfast was passable with limited choices, poor replenishment and at 20 euros expensive. They are going to put in fixed showers this winter. Our bedroom only had a hand held shower. We told them there should be a shower on the jetty when exiting the sea. It is difficult to find without a sat nav - so get organised when you first arrive. It is Hotel Calanque - not Les Residence du Soleil. That is the ownership chain.
Arrival at 12.30pm. Previous occupiers had "just" left. Told to wait until 3.30pm. Question need for 3 hours to prepare 2 small rooms? Rented an "apartment" . In fact was 2 small adjoining rooms and one bathroom accessed only through the first room so nocturnal disturbance inevitable. No sitting area etc in apartment. Pretty terrace overlooking the sea rendered useless by broken sun bed and 3 chairs for 4 people. Highlighted broken sunbed on arrival. Was told it would be fixed-it was not! View was spoilt by the peeling paint on the flank wall. Bathroom door could not be closed- no handle on door! Telephone not working. Shower broken. Bath plug broken. Hand shower broken, exposed electrical junction box on terrace.Musty cupboard. Pool dirty. Wife cried! Management reduced bill 50%
The hotel is beautiful and clean. Small number of rooms make it really cosy. It is by the seaside, full seaview. Food is great too. It is within walking distance to town centre.
View from rooms; good size of bedroom; quality of restaurant food; helpful staff None
Location & sea view Walls are very thin = noise
Location room staff and nice short pretty walk to town Electrical saftey by jacxuzzi dodgy. we reported it on first date but no electrician repaired it during our week. danger
Location by sea
A marvellous location overlooking a turquoise sea.
located right on the promenarde with godd restraunts nearby.
Terrific staff and wonderrful facilities. Right across from the beach and next to the town hall. Easy to get to everything in town and along the beach. No
The location of the hotel was excellent as it was right in the centre of Le Lavandou. The owners of the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice, although when we ordered coffee late in the evening they did not charge us for it.
The hotel was in a very good location. The owners were polite and helpful. We thought that it was a shame that the owners were not available after 10pm, so new visitors who arrived after that time were given a code to enter side door and so were not greeted on arrival. Room keys were left on table near side door. This did not apply to us as we arrived in afternoon. Also we felt that the bar should be open in evening so after eaing out, it would be a good thing to be able to have a coffee or nightcap before retiring.
It is well placed in Le Lavandou, convenient for beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. Pleasant to sit and watch the world go by with an Earl Grey. Being disabled, the flight of stairs to the reception (which is where the lift starts from) was somewhat daunting. Parking for the car was difficult and meant a long walk (for a disabled person). The shower room was verging on dangerous. A serious fall in there and the door could not be opened from the outside, it would have to be removed from the hinges.
Fantastic stay. Close to beach and plenty of restaurants to choice from. Close to other major cities and towns. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pleasant stay.
The owners of this hotel were so accomodating and pleasant. They went to great lengths to take care of their guests and keep their hotel in great condition. Excellent location along the coast and the rooms are comfortable and a good size. Breakfast at the hotel was worth the cost. This sea town is one of the nicest along the coast. The nearby village town of Bormes-les-Mirmosas is a must to visit.
Close to the beach and in the middle of the resort, helpful manager. no parking.
close to beach room no 9, view to a backyard
Close to a great beach, and plenty of excellent restaurants. Staff made it very pleasant, and English speaking staff was excellent. They were very helpful. The reception area had a great ambience and excellent views of the plaza below and Mediterrean right across the plaza. Had to park on the street near the hotel. Made me a bit nervous, but had no problems finding a parking spot and leaving the car for 2 days. Hotel is on a plaza, so is land-locked. You can pull into the plaza with a remote you can pick up at the front desk. This made it easier. Entrance was below reception. There was no lift until you were at the reception level, however I had help with getting my baggage into the hotel.
Brand new hotel with very nice staff. The upper seaside rooms (we were upgraded to the third floor) have a beautiful terrasse with view over the harbour and the sea, perfect to take the breakfast there! The hotel is 10 walking minutes away from the Saint Clair beach. We really loved this place. Lies next to the harbour, where there are several cafe's and disco's. So music may be loud late in the evening.
Clean, spacious rooms. Balcony with sea view. Pleasant staff. Main road directly underneath balcony which was unexpected. More like a really pleasant guest house than a hotel.
We enjoyed the style of the hotel, the laid back yet professional atmosphere. The breakfast was wonderful, offering so much variety. Yes, it is a bit pricey but consider it a brunch as you can eat plenty enough to be full until an afternoon snack. As we went to the islands of Porquerolles while we stayed there the complimentary hammam that was offered was a delight. There is parking around, & the little town of Lavandou has plenty of nice little restaurants to offer. All in all we were delighted with our stay & would enjoy going back.
We loved the hotel. Decorated with excellent taste, it was clean, cool and the owners were charming and helpful. It was in a quiet situation yet close to seaside.. That we couldn't stay longer !
Philippe and his wife really make the stay at the hotel a real treat
The hotel owners and staff were very hospitable. The hotel was simple but stylish. It was a nice change from the usual 'corporate' hotel experience
airy well lighted garden patio
Very nice hotel, beautiful rooms, very friendly staff, good food for good money. Everything is made with love.
Top quality equipment and furniture. Beautiful view on the sea. Conveniently located with very good restaurants nearby and beach across the street. Nearby road, which can be loud during the day.
very good and efficient service. Great management. excelent breakfast. the rooms were not cleaned so well.
Tens of house flies around. Unable to enjoy the stay.
calme and discreet
Beautiful views from our windows. Lovely room and bathroom. Great pool. Great location. Very individual. Their restaurant was not good. But the breakfast was fine.
Our stay at the hotel was excellent, staff very helpful and the seclusion and setting of the hotel was better than expected. Definitley going back there ub 2011.....
very helpful staff. lovely setting, beautiful building the mezanine rooms were a little cramped on the first floor for adults, would have been fine for children
The building is impressive, if a little ghostly, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Laughably understaffed ....a Hotel New Hampshire feel about it in fact and having to wait 3 hours to get into my room after arriving at 2pm was not acceptable....again the result of insufficient cleaning staff. Repeated requests to hurry up the process were politely but annoyingly ignored...not good enough. It is also a fair way from St Tropez and be warned that taxis are few and far between and eye-wateringly expensive.
Rooms, good breakfeast buffet
The tranquility was a really asset to this hotel, as well as the sea view. Staff was very friendly. Our room still contained dog hair! Building is a little outdated.
Excellent staff. The word "No" never came out of their mouths. No internet
We loved this small pretty hotel, the sevice was excellent, the rooms where a good size and perfect to laze around by the pool. Not the easiest hotel to find on the sat nav.
Good breakfast, pleasant pool, clean pleasant comfortable room Dinning room lacked ambiance
The owners of the hotel were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay enjoyable.
It's a family run hotel. They are very nice folks, helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean and comfortable without being luxurious. The value for money is very good for the area. If you don't have a car you must be prepared to walk (it's at 30 min walking distance from the nearby Cavalaire sur Mer village) and room isolation is quite poor (you hear whatever is happening in the neighboring rooms!)
