Good staff all round nice room Dangerous kettle that was red hot although in the off position !!!! no window secutity ie, screw missing on the window handle, no mobile signal, no wi fi signal other than that great
Receptionist very welcoming and helpful Room was small. The room back on to a main road which was very noisy. The windows should be double glazed.
Expensive drinks. Moderate food
Friendly, helpful staff, quiet, clean, comfortable and well located, close to the motorway without being next door and easy to find.
Plenty of parking. Comfortable room, plain but with workdesk and chair so fine for my business use. Friendly staff and really nice bar food. Good buffet breakfast with free newpapers available to read. An observation rather than a dislike, but the hotel feels rather empty as there never seem to be many guests. I've stayed here many times so that hasn't put me off. It would be better if the WiFi signal reached all the rooms.
clean room & comfy bed drinks expensive in bar
The room was lovely, really enjoyable stay especially with room service The door to the room was a very drafty and you could hear the traffic from the road very easily, maybe heavy duty fire door should be fitted to prevent the draft and noise
Poor rooms badly maintained, i booked 12 rooms for colleagues, no hot water in the morning. scruffy rooms.
Bright clean room
breakfast exellent, very clean and staff very helpful. the jaccuzi bath did not work. the bed was uncomfortable, no dinner available.
The hot bath/shower The facilities are old and out of date. It is a Victorian type of hotel but the maintenance to this standard has not been effected at all. The odour and smells coming out of the rooms are horrible. There is a a need to change the beddings and sheets.
Housekeeping did their best given what they had to work with. No internet in rooms-barely functioning in lobby.
I have nothing good to say about the experience except that the restaurant staff were friendly. It took 300 minutes of queuing to get a key and a further three ascents / further quesuing to get into the room as the magnetic strips did not work. Arrived early to be greeted simply with "You can't check in here" - no welcome or greeting. the most appalling service I have ever experienced in a city centre hotel, and for the price entirely unacceptable. Surly reception staff, overwhelmed by long queues and too few computers. Poor rooms small, dark, - wall paper peeling; paint rubbed off in bathroom
the only thing good about this hotel was the guy that night on the reception he was shaking from the stress ,but we got dealy with ,and then the day after we were un happy again as my room had bee re booked to some one esle and i was sent to a yob hostel to put in polite where i had to share a lift with a skin head gross
Room was dark and dirty, matted ball of hair on window pane( which faced another room, no natural light) awful room lighting, i asked for more lights and they did nothing to help.shower had no hot water and water poured out from a crack all over the bathroom floor and the t.v did not work unless you fiddled with the exposed wires!! the only reason i stay in this hotel is the location to workplace. This hotel needs a very huge renovation.
great location for shopping etc and near station no staff about at breakfast no tables cleared to sit at when one did appear they still did not seem on top of the job. lunchtime in bar was short staffed one person behind bar doing everything not enough seats.
Although it is located in the centre of Birmingham the hotelrooms were dirty and uncomfortable (old beds, bathroom below standards) Hotel needs compleet renovation
Location, the price I stay here 3 or 4 times a month and there are always niggling complaints; 2 out of my last 3 early morning call requests didn't happen. Heating not turned on in my room until 3rd request; no iron in the ironing room (stolen!) but no offer to pop next door to Debenhams to get one. Location and price, plus a decent breakfast, save the day
Excellent location - closed to all of the city's attractions, bars, clubs and shops No car park
Hotel room was tiny, also walls and carpet were dirty. funny smell in hallsway and lift. Bar staff were very rude.
The view, bed and the shower Chaotic buffet breakfast.
Very accomodating staff Dusty and the food was the same every day!
location was easy to find wifi was only in the lobby and I had to pay to use their parking deck
Check in/out was very efficient The lifts!! Have a mind if there own but when your in the 14th floor you have no choice but the use them it can take you up & down a few times before getting the floor you require Oh & breakfast is chaos not enough tables to cater for guests
The hotel was in a great location as we were visiting Birmingham for the Christmas markets and shopping at the Bullring. Nothing at all.
Lovely to be so close to the centre. With a party and prepaid afternoon tea and dinner. Afternoon tea was urns of tea and coffee and prewrapped biscuits. Not 4 star rather like a poor B&B offering! TV screen really dirty and dusty. No soap dish. Half used shampoo. Not even a post card in the drawer. All quite shabby for the price asked and not like any 4 star hotel you would find elsewhere in Europe.
Central to the town so lovely to be able to walk in quickly. The hotel is spacious- reception is well laid out. Cleaning staff knocking on the room door at 9.a.m, particularly on Saturday morning when you are not checking out that day.. but also on Sunday..
The Hotel was central to everything we wanted to see. Staff were very helpful. Food - excellent with good choice including dietary requirements. I have some mobility problems and a room was arranged for us near to lift which was great.
room was overlooking the river
clean rooms fresh and friendly staff yes the window did not open, it was screwed shut and when asked for a fan ( as my wife is 7 months pregnant) we did not get one.
The Hotel was clean & tidy, rooms were a good standard. Staff very helpful, its a Holiday Inn. The Beds do take some getting use to, the pillows soft or hard are not good. Paying £10 for wifi - 1st hour is expensive. The hotel can have an issue at breakfast if everyone decends at 7.30 / 8am as they can run out of food and the tables can be full and not cleaned !!!, I waited over 10 min and when i eventually got my breakfast I sat down at a table that had not been cleaned away, full of cups and plates, throughout my breakfast nothing on my table or around me was cleaned or moved !!...other than that its a Holiday Inn and getting better
Location very convenient. Quality very good and very well maintained. Is it necessary to charge customers for car parking if they are paying guests?
The warmth of the hotel (bitterly cold outside during our stay) and the lovely breakfasts. In fact, we liked eveything. There was nothing we disliked.
Close by the town and easy to walk to the main venues of the city. had a power outage which was not their fault but when that happened the lifts in morning did not work, so staying on 3rd floor was a bit of a hike with all bags if you have a wife/Girlfriend
It is in a really great location.
Spacious room for organizing repacking to travel. Sufficient places to sit at dinner for a single person. Excellent personnel response in replacing burnt out light bulb. Location wrt airport and railroad. Value based on my particular reservation was good. I was paying out of personal pocket. But I would return for the same price. No bright LEDs to disturb my sleep Nice breakfast. Nothing bad No sign if water in fridge is free (many hotels charge for this) I would like decaf earl grey for room to help sleep Burger at dinner. Glad that this was well-done. But the bun was very dry. Needed a nice sauce to make it all more moist and flavorful. Restaurant did not seem to know if a British beer: ale was available. Yes I liked the ale provided but the server did not know about it. It would be good if there are real British ales on tap instead of the usual corporate beers. Is it possible to get United miles for staying at Novotel? This Would influence my decisions. John Taylot
Great location for airport and NEC events. Restaurant on site and bar open 24hours. Good for business, leisure or family stays. Staff friendly. Very accommodating and would definitely stay again. No noise heard from the airport. Our allocated room smelled of smoke and they changed our room immediately and apologised.
quality of breakfast not as high as the last time I stayed with you three years ago. Sorry.
I loved how convenient is was to get to the NEC and airport from the hotel. It was stress free and swift.
Hotel as expected, staff very helpful, drinks and meals expensive but only to be expected on an airport site. Didn't have hotel breakfast as too expensive when you can get two good breakfasts at Frankie & Benny's in the airport for the same price as one in the hotel. Access to NEC and Birmingham centre.
The location was excellent for the airport along with the quick tram link to the NEC and train station. The rooms were freezing!
staff was very helpful and friendly
Room very basic and poorly decorated, no air con or fully opening windows
The staff very helpful
Convenient to Birmingham Airport! Great for early morning flight. They even gave us our b'fast in a bag the night before since our plane left before the breakfast opened. We have traveled a bit, but never in a place where we needed to insert our card into a slot to turn on the lights. Guess that is well known, however was not by us. Helpful housekeeper showed us. Very convenient to have USB charger for electronics.
Proximity to Terminals and comfort of rooms. Check in and out times were excellent too.
Great, location, good food, and comfortable quiet room!
the breakfast was fantastic.
The breakfast was excellent Excessive car charges £24 sterling for one night was excessive, I presume rooms are going to be updated ...
Large comfortable rooms, well heated and great bed
The location, comfort and cleanliness of the hotel.
Staff very helpful, nice location. Room was in need of decorative updating, bathroom was scruffy and tired, heater did not work well
very close to town centre
Excellent location, high standard of room, comfortable bed, excellent en suite with bath and shower. Breakfast was not very hot and we had to wait until we had nearly finished before coffee was served, but the choice was good. The plates should have been warmed.
Staff really friendly without fail.
Breakfast Room was cold. Staff unable to get fixed so put up with it rather than repack and move.
A lovely warm welcome when we arrived and an equally nice room. We enjoyed our night here and felt very much at home. The place is very well done up with well maintained gardens.
Fantastic location, nice clean rooms, welcoming, town centre is walking distance. Truly a five star stay and yes the breakfast was excellent! Highly recommended and will come back.
church Farm Barns is to me the ideal place to spend time exploring Stratford and the surrounding area.
A very nice place to stay, ideally located for access to town and surrounding area. rooms were tidy, well maintained and tastfully decorated. Owners very friendly without being intrusive. only one comment. pillows were too soft!
excellent facility with lots of quality furnishings. very close to the town centre and the pub in shottery village! the proprietors were friendly and welcoming. the bedroom doors need to have locks.
Easy walk to NIA. Staff always polite & friendly. Nothing
Excellent facilities Comfortable bed overal good We presumed breakfast and car parking was included in the price as it was the previouse year and cheaper then.
very helpful staff nothing outstanding stood out but it was a very pleasant stay with no problems. too much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi
Good staff Want to charge you for water bottles in room No batteries in remote control Cheap toilet paper For the price you pay you would think the hotel would get all these little points right!
Wonderful Room Wonderful View Wonderful Spa!
Excellent service Nothing
Dining room staff excellent all staff very helpful Telephoned to change from one room to two. This had not happened on checking in. However we were accommodated a room each and next to each other which was great
helpful porters at the entrance and the pool.
Well appointed and central location However you look at it £170 can get you overnight anywhere
Late check out at 12.00, which means you can have a lovely lie in Unfortunately the temperature was minus 4 degrees and the hotel is not built for cold weather. The rooms were just at a reasonable temperature for someone that doesn't feel the cold too much. The restaurant and lounge area were very cold and whilst the food was excellent, we left as soon as we had finished eating as it was uncomfortable to sit and enjoy.
Luxury and modern styling, lovely lobby, restaurant and classy bar, clean and felt quality, professional and smart staff The drunk young italian thug at the bar....... The lack of free satellite tv channels...... Plus the parking that had to be in the NCP around the corner was closed at 11pm when I got back to the hotel!
Very good for sight seeing, Theatre, shopping, every thing is close to hand with in walking distance.
the position of the hotel needed decorating
Very comfortable with modern and historic feel to different parts of hotel. Very cosy by open fire in traditional surroundings. Food well cooked and presented but menu rather limited particularly from day to day. No real problems but lack of drawer space in bedroom and shelf space in bathroom.
the convenience of the hotel to the town and theatre, and also the pleasantness of the staff. although the tv was receiving digital stations, very few apart from the five main ones were available. Specifically BBC4.
Great room, excellent staff, great location for the town and surrounding area. Thought the en suite could have been cleaner.
It was near to the theatre The room was of a poor standard with filthy net curtains. We had mould in the bathroom and wrinkles in the carpet. We had stayed at better B&B's in Stratford. This was a birthday treat for me and I was severely disappointed.
Location of the hotel and the facilities Room faced noisy road and church with a clock that tolled every hour
The room was delightfully unusual with oak beams. The hotel itself was very pleasant and ideally located. I also liked the RAF and Navy display in the lobby. Breakfast, although adequate, did not quite match the rest of my very good experience at this hotel.
it was right in the heart of Stratford and there were good parking facilities. All staff were very friendly the bathroom was a bit shabby
The room was a little tired and in need of redecoration.
Location; bar. 1. Staff ignoring people who were smoking in the non-smoking/eating sections of the hotel. 2. Newspapers having to be collected from reception - I wanted to read in bed. 3. The shower leaks all over the bathroom floor because the shower door doesn't fit properly
Proximaty to centre
Location despite being far from the railway station What we were charged had nothing to do with both your prices on the internet and nothing to do with the numbers of breakfasts we had. we had to intervene to both. this is the first time we are facing this after hundreds of hotels we visited. we had our room left for the hole day as we woke up one day
the size of our room was excellent
hotel room was lovely - good value for money and the breakfast was good.
Jurys have really up the mark in this Hotel,We have stayed before and it gets better every year.
Convenient location. Ideal for a night out in the centre of Birmingham. Rooms were pretty basic, but sound enough for what we needed them for.
double beds in thetwin rooms and being allowed to have a smoking room
My visit was good and enjoyed my stay as the location is near the clubs and restaurants and the German Market The fact that the cleaners woke me up three times between 8.30am and 9.30am by entereing my room while I was sleeping
the pizza. screaming kids running about in the corridor.
The room was very clean and well presented and very quiet. Coffee & Tea available. I did not like the Hotel policy of requiring a deposit if you were going to use any of the facilities. For example we had dinner in the restaurant but I was not allowed to charge it to my room because I had not paid a deposit when I booked in. I paid cash. It is a minor irritation but a silly policy.
the heating,as it was very cold in birmingham city that day we was their no where to park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the price, I would have expected more. It was clean and basic.
On a cold winters night it was very very close to the bar we were going to that evening and it was close to local shops and supermarket! Staff were extremely unwelcoming and not usefull in the slightest
Nice and friendly receptionists I choose the hotel because Internet should be available. That turned out to be the case only in the first floor, not in my room.
The Hotel was spot on staff very helpfull walking into city centre was about 15 minutes through not very nice side streets. ( not recomended returning from NIA at night )
The location of the hotel is a short walk from the staion and from the bull ring The rooms are basic beds not comfortable air con very load for a new hotel only a shower with basic soap travel lodge style food in restraunt poor rough area laminated floors in bedroom would not recormend this as a buiness hotel
The whole package, from the staff to the great accommodation. Just one very small thing, at breakfast, the plates weren't warmed so breakfast was cold before it got to the table.
The hotel had a pretty good location, fairly central to the city and shops. I was literally a few minutes from where I needed to be. The room was very cold in the morning however it did snow over night and the beds were not partically spacious
the breakfast was delicious, hotel is quite near to the new street railway station and the shopping centre bullring although the hotel should be 4*, some services and facilities, which should be in 4* hotel are missing - minibar, safebox, bathroom amenities + the price 15 GBP also for TV (bbc, cnn...) is too high! (standard TV channels should be for free)
The service in the bar was appalling and the hotel is starting to look shabby and neglected.
The comfort of the rooms and big bathrooms along with the atmosphere in the bar/restaurant area. gorgeous breakfasts with very good attention to detail with what was on offer. The shower was a bit low in both pressure and height and the room a bit cool.
room was lovely Checking out was long winded as only one receptionist on, we were checking out at 07.15am (not a busy time!) to be at an appt for 07.30 but receptionist was back & forward as couldn't find a receipt for customer in front of us and never once asked for someone to serve,so we were late for our appt by few minutes....poor
The availability of an iron and ironing board in my room. When I went down to breakfast I was seated and then ignored for about 25 minutes. I had to ask one of the staff if I could order as I had a tight schedule.
Stylish decor the very poor service!!! both reception and in the restaurant!!!
This is the second time here and we had another wonderful time! We especially love the position as its very close to the canal network and various bars and restaurants - plus very near to the City Centre. Lovely atmosphere too as, although its an incredibly comfortable hotel it also has a 'warm and inviting' feel. Your staff are 'second to none' - well done! Hope this assists - thanks.
massage chairs in the spa were a big plus
The room was comfortable. The check-in experience was very amateur for a hotel of your calibre. Also I found that the carpet in the room was quite stained.
Close to Birmingham New Street rail station
Very quiet room, very comfortable bed & seating. Tea & coffee facilities well stocked. Check-in was very poor, slow - with a queue from desk to entrance. Staff approach seemed rather too casual. Bedroom was quite clean but had to remove some litter from floor.
Didn't stay at Mint Hotel - stayed at City Inn, birmingham Bed really uncomfortable
The room was very clean and very well equipped. The location of the Hotel was also very central and convenient for the city centre.
huge window was a nice touch no bath
The room was tastefully decorated and the location was awesome
Nice spacious rooms, excelent location, check staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was cold, poor choice and very expensive, the staff at breakfast were either hungover or on mogodam,go weatherspoons.
the easyness it was to get to the NIA and broad street. it was quite hot in the room and found it difficult to turn the heating down.
Excellent hotel, with everything you need near by. The pubs clubs and restaurants were only 3 min walk away. A superb hotel to stay in.
everything!was a great stay
location charging additional for breakfast. small rations for in room coffe making.
leisure facilities, close to nec
the menu choice and the food and service in the restaurant was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable as well. When I was arriving to find the hotel (however it was in the darkness) I felt that there could be better directional signage for the hotel on the surrounding roads.
Location - Near NEC and Birmingham Airport Rooms tiny with single bed up against wall. No Aircon and advised not to open windows as the Mosquitos will come in. Restaurant expensive for extremely average food.
We booked the hotel because hotel had a multi-million pound update. Unfortunately we were put in one of old rooms not refurbished. The hotel accommodated us when we explained we booked the hotel on-line because of the refurbishment and we were moved to a more suitable room
Everything was very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was only about 10 min walk from the nec. The meals were a bit to expensive.
swimming pool the room was a bit shabby -bathroom the guy next door smoked hanging out side the window and there were tab ends all over the flat roof outside It was not as nice as the other 2 stays
All staff I came into contact with, the checking- in staff and particularly the concierge staff were excellent, pleasant and extremely helpful. Obviously, as it is near the NEC it was quite crowded and noisy in parts/
Room service was excellent!
the late bar and the variety of the restaurents the cost of the restaurent and the fact that a service charge was put on the bill automatically.....even though it was a self service meal??
Our room was booked from 3pm, but there was no twin room ready when we checked in at 4pm, yet they wouldnt allow us a late checkout either, that was unreasonable. Also, food was a v basic bar menu, or a la carte expensive fine dining or the middle option was a buffet which costs £33 per head and was a total rip off. A glass of wine ws £7.95. Do not recommend eating here. Although breakfast was included in our rate, we couldnt pay the £3.50 tray service to have it delivered to our room, we would also have to pay an additional £20 for the breakfast!! I think the website should inform you of this and I think it is unfair.
Heating did not work very good, only cold air and it was -6 outside.
The location was perfect for visiting Stratford as only a short walk over the river into the town centre. The staff were extremely friendly and the hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere. The room was very clean and had everythiong we needed inclusing an iron and board already in the room. Our stay wasn't long enough! Could have done with an explanation at check in on how the plug in the sink worked as we thought our was broken!
central free carpark
convenient and clean
Good location, room was well furnished and clean, an empty fridge was very useful. Didn't suffer from banging doors and creaking floorboards. Excellent car park location and easy access to the hotel from the car park that didn't appear to be locked - so no mammoth treks to have a late night cigarette. No internet, the broadband connection in my room didn't work so I had to pay £40 to use WiFi when it is free at most hotels in the area. When I got the WiFi it was a poor connection and didn't work at all for most of one night. Room key card was erratic at best - it took me around five swipes on average to get into my room.
no dining facilities
This is a good hotel and is very conveniently situated for the town and for walks along the river. We have stayed here many times and it is our first choice for a hotel in Stratford. The cost of breakfast if you just want tea and toast. Not enough parking.
We only stayed one night, but it was comfortable, clean, very convenient short walk to the Theater, not far from the rail station, walkable to the sights. People were friendly, and room service breakfast was right on time, so we could catch our train to London.
quiet, calm location
friendly staff, very good location.
the breakfastroom and quality of breakfast No lift and long walking distances
extremely close to the RST theatre, no more than 5m walk; very quiet, free parking, great breakfast and very comfortable bedroom. waiting staff on the restaurant could be increased in numbers - or efficiency - waiting 15 minutes for the waiter to take my breakfast order, while the restaurant is half full is the only negative item to point out - the breakfast itself was fantastic.
We really enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel. The decor and furniture have been chosen for ultimate comfort and cosiness and have achieved a "home from home" feeling and yet still offer luxury. Nothing springs to mind.
Great location for accessing attractions. Liked the ambiance of the hotel. Staff were obliging. Room was cramped (bathroom was not).Poorly equiped-tv did not work. No clock/radio. No pen. Most importantly- no space to put clothing- We had to live out of our suitcase.
The location was superb. The junior suite was well worth the extra with a separate lounge area. Having real log fires burning made it feel warm and cozy. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy a hot drink near the fire. The hotel building is old and whilst the rooms are very clean and well decorated the plumbing is old with low water pressure and about 15 minutes before very hot water reaches you. All part of the old world charm I guess.
The friendliness of the staff. The fact we were able to book in slightly earlier than 2pm having travelled all the way from Scotland. The hum of the air conditioning unit outside our bedroom window.
Comfortable hotel with character right in centre of town. Ideal for visiting historical houses and close to lots of restaurants.
Location, Food, Character Building. Being charged for car parking.
wonderful, excellent for a romantic evening- four poster bed well worth it, central to stratford
Location (very central), friendly and helpful staff, character. WiFi was very accessable Room was a bit worn. No mention was made before arrival (eg at time of booking) of £10 per night charge for use of the carpark.
The hotel is clean and suits the character of Stratford upon Avon. The log fires are lovely! The hotel were not helpful with the problems we experienced during our stay. The breakfast was poor quality, badly served and the staff were not helpful.
I liked the "character" of the hotel and that it had air-conditioning. The room and bath was large, the bed very comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location.
Very convenient for the theatres and with on-site parking (which can be a problem in Stratford) this is a comfortable and characterful hotel which is good for a short stay. The staff are pleasant and intend to be helpful; but things can go amiss. For example a room service request was overlooked and a dinner reservation got lost between the front desk and the restaurant.
