Pros: Host Arjen & Marna are fantastic couple, home comfort stay with beautiful view of the Fjords. Thanks Marna for taking us fishing in your boat
Pros: We loved being in this beautiful little town of Herand. The owners of the facility were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable enough if we wanted alone time, but it was more fun to visit with the other guests in the shared kitchen and sitting rooms. One restaurant in town - probably the best pizza I have ever had.
Pros: Superb location, Arjen (the owner) is a great man, made us feel at home.
Pros: Fantastic view from the room. Arjen is very nice and helpful. Comfortable as being at home. Great place to stay at Hardanger!
Pros: The location is good.
Cons: They guys maintain a silent policy that we could not even talk after dinner. One old shabby guy in stinky down knocked at the door and told us not to talk. It was so funny and disturbing. The doors are old, making cracking sound. All Eight rooms had to share a small bathroom ; meaning there used to be a que all day, even at night. We had to quit next morning and the rude staff charged us for full two days though we stayed hardly few hours. Those of you have read the other reviews, be very very cautious. Its likely that these are fake. Avoid this place. Simply a no go.
Pros: Everything is perfect.
Pros: Comfy and crisp clean bedsheets. The view!!!
Cons: It tends to get noisy when other tenants do their things as the walls are tiny and noise isolation completely absent.
Pros: The room very clean and comfortable
Located in Kvam, Thon Hotel Sandven is on the waterfront, within a 5-minute walk of Norheimsund Harbour and Hardangerfjord. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The direct view to the fjord is wonderful as well as the breakfast with delicious fish! For dinner they offer a good dinner. The staff is very helpful
Pros: The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The parking is available in the hotel and I highly recommend accommodation in the area and the hotel in particula
Cons: Their was Now channel of satellite in Arabic and therefore the Internet did not work in the TV this thing a little annoying
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, along with the bedding. The breakfast buffet was great. The staff was very helpful.
Pros: This charming hotel lies at the shore of the Hardangerfjord with a beautiful view over the sea. The hotel has an "old" and a "new" part. If you like buildings and rooms with "character" that tell a story, I would definately recommend you to ask for a room in the old part. The staff was very friendly, the food in the restaurant was nice and if you are there, you should definately order a "Trolltunga" beer!
Cons: No elevator in the old part of the building.
Pros: Extremely friendly staff, we felt most welcome!
Cons: Nothing, all good.

Pros: Site view and staff
Cons: No air con Opposite noisy ferry so with the windows open for air it was industrial strength noisy early each morning
Pros: Lovely hotel with special atmosphere. We had a great dinner and wonderful breakfast.
Pros: Dinner, cider tasting and breakfast were excellent. Common areas were very nice with drink service and a great view of the fjord and ferries coming and going.
Cons: We had a large bed which was great, but my side was saggy. I tend to prefer a softer mattress so for those who prefer it firm it would likely be even more noticeable. The roller shade was broken so I couldn’t raise the shade in the mornings. The entire hotel had a very charming historic feel (est. in 1722!) except our room itself which just felt modern-day dated, rather than historically charming.
Pros: The building is an old Norwegian house and it’s very well maintained. Cosy, clean and very confortable. Dinner is amazing, a must if you go there. Location is great if you want to spend a quiet time along the fjords or just a nice stop on uour way up to Odda.
Cons: I wisehd it was a bit cheaper.
Pros: Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Evening meal was extremely disappointing and very expensive, even for Norway. Hotel is directly opposite the ferry port, which is fine if you're interested in a view of boats and cars.
Pros: Historic hotel with loads of unique charm. Excellent staff. Excellent gourmet dinners but expensive.
Cons: Tiny bathroom with clumsy shower that flooded bathroom. Difficult to carry bags up 2 spiral staircases. No other options to eat in the tiny village. Expensive.
