The atmosphere and calmness around is just perfect for those who is tired from city noise and hurry
Room was big & comfy, breakfast was ok, receptionist was wonderful and very helpful. Great for a weekend away from it all maybe apart from the trains & motorway. Roads to hotel are single lane farm tracks not well maintained. Main line to Brussells and Motorway run behind so constant rumble in background but not loud unless you open the window. Restaurant not open on Mondays/Tuesdays, food ok but to my taste & a bit expensive
The building was tastefully renovated creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Ideal for weekend cycling.
Very nice lady (owner I suppose) at the reception, and serving breakfast, etc. Nice old building, very clean rooms, all looked in good shape. To come to the hotel you drive through a lovely village, but you will find that the hotel is close to the motorway. This means you hear traffic 24 hours a day, when you open the windows in the room. Please note the restaurant is not open on Monday. I had to go into the village to a restaurant but this was not far and a good recommendation by the hotel.
The atmosphere. Difficult to find
The hostellerie has much potential. The building has everything to be a good holiday location. Our room was nice and comfortably big. This is a missed opportunity. The reception is closed between 12:00 and 18:00 (we missed that in the confirmation e-mail, so had to wait two hours before we could check in). During that time, there really is no-one present from the staff. Everything is closed shut. There is also no restaurant anymore. The owner drove us to a restaurant the nearby down and came to pick us up again. That was really kind. Unfortunately, he speaks only French and no English. The toilet in our room had not been cleaned and we found some finger or toe nails on the floor. As we only stayed one night and our French isn't good enough, we didn't complain about this, but there was enough reason to.
nice large comfortable room, very nice dinner
Very dedicated front desk employee, walking you up to the room. Spacey room, but very basic. The menu in the restaurant was quite appealing, hope to return there once to enjoy the kitchen. Located in the country side, yet still close to Brussels. Very basic breakfast buffet. Good enough for a short business trip. Uncomfortable shower access under a slanting roof. TV remote control didn't work (not very convenient when watching the tele from your bed)
Room was good, roomy with a desk and table. Free internet connection (once you get a ticket from reception), food was always good and sometimes very good. The town has large stunning gardens next to the hotel. The town is well placed, near a major road and with a rail link that takes you to the centre of Brussels in half an hour
My group were in vintage cars, and the hotel had kindly ensured the parking area had been kept free for us, a thoughtful gesture. The rooms were first class, clean and appeared to be brand new. our two dinners very very tasty, with good helping for hungry travellers. The atrium made a pleasant location for breakfast.I would definitely recommend the hotel to my friends i have no bad comments to make.
Comfortable and very clean rooms. Nice breakfast, excellent location, very quiet. Welcoming and helpful owners.
Nice situation Restaurant not open Friday night
Clean, warm, spacious rooms with an efficient complimentary WiFi connection. Good restaurant, little pricy.
The rooms were well laid out. The location is close to the centre of town, but next to a large park with a stately home and famous gardens. So on one side the location feels quite rural, the town side is on a quiet road and separated from its neighbours.
Very pretty location in a park area near the town Chateau, which was set in a lovely garden with lakes etc. We were not offered the Menu du Jour, which looked quite good value and I thought was perhaps only for lunch, but later on reading the room literature, it said it was applicable for all hotel residents. Our meal was good but expensive (also due to the poor exchange rate of £sterling to Euro of course)
