Pros: Very well crafted spacious rooms and building with 1st rate finishes and excellent amenities. Parking was right out front and the rural area/surroundings were like a post card. Staffed by family and absolutely charming, breakfast was outstanding farm fresh, literally. The best thing was the tour around the working farm, just wonderful. Can't say enough. I would stay longer next time.
Pros: Enjoyed the peace and quiet. My daughter and I really enjoyed the farm. The room was really nice and clean.
Pros: The accommodation is in a beautifully renovated building. Everything very tastefully done. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Good information on local dining, and things to do in the area. An interesting tour of the farm. Very family-friendly.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
Pros: Very nice, well presented and a great stay
Pros: Very friendly hosts, super clean accomodation, would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Very nice modern rooms. We were in the junior suite. Quiet, great location to stay on your way from NL to a location in France. Really nice hostess, and made no problem that we had our 6yr old with us (for some reason on booking.com sometimes children are not on the final reservation confirmation, even when you selected so)
Cons: Would be great if the host would speak some English, but héy, you can’t have it all
Located in Vicq, Secret d'une nuit is within a 15-minute drive of Musee des Beaux-Arts and Avesnois Regional Nature Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Katie - the owner - is excellent and very friendly!!!
Pros: Excellent host. Very helpful. Neat and clean. Outstanding interior decor. Green and beautiful locale.
Cons: WiFi was not good.
Pros: The hospitality and original decor. The animals were also wonderful!
Pros: It has a spa and pool but the weather was to cool for me to use the pool. It has farm scenery and church views from the back area. My room had a little goldfish in the bedroom unique.
Pros: We visited this place just for one night. Unfortunately our French is very bad, but even through this language barrier the hosts gave us a more than welcoming entrance. Very kind, warm people, who love the cycling race Paris Roubais. Absolutely highly recommended!
Pros: We loved it. Friendly welcome. Beautiful location and comfortable apartment
Pros: Breakfast was very good, lots of tasty fruit, yoghurt, jams. Bed was comfy and shower excellent. Interesting location next to lakes with lots of walks although we didn't have much time to enjoy the area. Really quiet location with no traffic noise at night.
Cons: The stairs to the apartment were very steep and would be an issue for anyone decending with small children or balance issues
Pros: nice accommodation, varied and good breakfast, very nice kitchen and lovely decorated bedroom, possibility for pool use. In the evening you can relax on the sunny terrace. well suited with small child. Loving and always endeavored landlady.
Cons: according to needs: very soft bed, mostly french speaking
Pros: Bulles et Nature was a nice surprise - beautiful location, lovely host. Recommended for anyone who wants a relaxing getaway. The breakfast was wonderful. They even let our daughter claim some eggs from the chickens outside - she was thrilled!
Cons: Rooms are modest, but everything we needed - more farmhouse than the Ritz. Not a criticism - this met our expectations.
Pros: Breakfast was well balanced and enough in quantity and quality for the whole family. Location is very attractive if you are looking for quietness and peaceful surroundings away from the noise of the city-life. Especially the little daughters appreciated the games and DVDs found in each room, which helped us a bit to forget of the rainy weather.
Cons: a system to have fresh air in the room without mosquitos
Pros: We loved everything, the location, the rooms, breakfast, nearby trails to walk (which was greatly appreciated after a long trip) and of course the animals nearby. Cecile made us (family with 2 kids) feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from it all but still be within 20-30min drive of nearby towns, Bulles et Nature is fantastic.
Pros: It was a great way to experience the countryside in Northern France. We spent one night in the family accommodations, which was very comfortable and pleasant experience - the place was well furnished and provided a homey environment (wooden floors and beams and rustic, authentic building). There is a small path across the street to hike around and get some fresh air. Bread and croissants provided for breakfast were excellent and the homemade apple juice was a particularly nice touch. We also got to visit with the donkeys and horses on the property which was particularly wonderful.
Pros: All was okey.
Cons: I did not like breakfast.
Pros: The owners are lovely people we had an issue with our booking which was nothing to do with them but they went the extra mile to help resolve the situation and after 8 hours of driving there understanding and kindness was priceless, it's a beautiful property in a beautiful location, tranquil.
Cons: Can't think of anything I didn't like, honest answer.
Pros: Clean, quiet and comfortable.
Cons: All was great.

Pros: Being in a museum! Very interesting place to stay!
Cons: Internet, and telephon acces were very bad! For restaurants, you can't go walking! About 4 km to go!
Pros: Very warm welcome. Free and easy. Lovely home breakfast
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hosts.
Pros: Easy to access just off motorway ..yet very quiet . Room was clean & facilities all worked . Breakfast was simple but very filling , just how we like it. Eaten in a room that had antiques & oddities. Enjoying conversation with the owners who were both very helpful & engaging ..we would heartily recommend this venue & hope to stay again in the future .
Cons: Parking was a squeeze due to us having a heavily laden car with the kerb being high on approach to property .. However that down to choice of car & travel situation rather than the property.
With a stay at Auberge du Bord des Eaux in Mortagne-du-Nord, you'll be in a regional park, and 8.7 mi (14 km) from Ecopark Adventures and 9 mi (14.5 km) from Musee de la Tapisserie (Tapestry Museum). The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Spacious apartment for fair price
Cons: - The bed was only 1.90m long so I had to sleep with my feet outside the bed which was very uncomfortable. - Restaurant only does pre-ordering - In general not a very flexible place, food needs to be pre-ordered, departure and arrival time needs to be announced in advance. We decided to leave earlier than announced (8AM instead of 9AM) and faced a closed gate preventing us from leaving as well as a closed reception resulting in a 30 minute wait until the reception finally opened at 8:30.
Pros: Friendly welcome
Cons: Penalty for being late as Eurotunnel was three hours late. But it was in the contract! The pictured lake was in fact derelict with weed and trees around overgrown and full of flies. Terrace was closed up for the season in August!!!! Looks as though the venue has seen better days.
Pros: Not much
Cons: Faded. Needed updating. Like staying in a caravan. No meal available as we didn’t book by email. Expensive beer. Poor breakfast given the cost. Grounds need maintenance, not like the pics. Breakfast monitored by owner withholding food. Floors above creeked. Mold in shower.
Pros: Lovely position and grounds Breakfast good
Cons: No facility for eating unless Pre booked This is not good for people who travel and uncertain when they arrive and want to eat . Beer is extremely expensive .. Very very rural facilities, which is good for some not others, management are quite specific as to their policies. Could be more receptive as to food availability and times of closure. Management very friendly though. NM
Pros: Tea/coffee making facilities were available in the room. The bed was comfortable, and the area was quiet and peaceful. Secure parking was available for our convertible classic cars.
Cons: Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed as they were preparing for a large family function for the next day.
Pros: Helpful friendly owner
Pros: The forest park which brings fresh air.
Cons: The building of the cottage.
Pros: Lovely peaceful quiet hotel. Not a huge amount of facilities but comfortable and clean. Good fresh breakfast. Perfect for 1 or 2 night stay as a base for exploring.
Cons: Mosquitos! No fault of the hotel but strongly advise taking repellant. Shower coukd have done with a bleach.
Pros: Tranquility, the forest park.
Cons: The lake in the forest park which needs to be cleaned.

Pros: Great stopover hotel and a very easy location to get to/from Valenciennes where we went to watch England women in the world cup football match.
Pros: We were able to check in easily and liked that it had two rooms connected but separated by a door. Therefore, my son had privacy in his room and us in ours.
Cons: The water in the shower did not go down, so one needed to be careful not to flood the floor with water.
Pros: Bed comfortable. Car parking.
Cons: No tea or coffee in room. Room a bit tired and only big thick duvet that was too heavy for summer...no sheet. Didn't seem to be a fan in bathroom. Reception not very friendly.
Pros: Location close to Valenciennes, restaurant at 25 meters, good value for money
Pros: location and value for money
Cons: bedding -better pillows would be good

Pros: Host (Fred) was welcoming and friendly. Beds were comfy water hot and nice breakfast. House looks great from outside and breakfast room was lovely.
Cons: Premises is really showing its age .... its tired and has lost its shine.
Pros: friendly hosts
Cons: A grand chateau that was last decorated in 1991 and it shows , pipe in the bathroom leaked , wary of opening the windows in case they fell apart , damp showing on walls in our bedroom and the dining room . The owner told us he is struggling , and that the place is up for sale .
Pros: The 19th century castle gives a taste of the (former) grandeur people used to live in: the helpful landlord and his friendly butler still do. The breakfast consist of great quality food in the old stylish castle dining room; meat and cheese are a supplement though. We used the place as a base to explore the region, as it is located close to main roads crossing.
Cons: Don't expect the luxury of a polished modern hotel here, but appreciate the wooden roof beams crossing the high ceiling instead. In the summer, this can be hot, but ventilators are supplied.
Pros: location was good for our travels. Size of room was good
Cons: Very dirty bathroom. no cold water as this was broken!! Breakfast was poor. All areas were in need of good clean and better still a good lick of paint. Being told an arrival that we could not use any form of bank card as the machine was not working.
Pros: Quirky and charming. The breakfast room
Cons: No fixed shower only a bath and hand held nozzle
