The hotel Zollamt had a nice atmosphere all around, and the staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. NO...
The staff were fantastic - helpful in every way. Hotel is in a quiet area but just a 20 minute stroll to the centre. Beautifully decorated public areas.
This is a wonderful hotel. They were very helpful to me even before I arrived. They were the nicest people and had a wonderful breakfast that was included. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend this to everyone I know.
not all the rooms are "Design" as portraied
Hotel Zollamt is near the USA/USAF installations. Very clean nice place to stay. Close to the Kaiserslautern train station for weekend getaways. The morning breakfast service was excellent. The hotel staff were very pleasent and helpful.
superb personal service by the owner and his staff; tasteful decor; wonderful breakfast; restful rooms; cleanliness.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and neat. No A/C, but considering it's in Germany there really is no need for it; just open a window and it's fine.
Serving the breakfast
great hotel, excellent staff and wonderful rooms
The breakfast. This is more like a 3-star hôtel. This W-E the 2 restaurants were requisitioned for 2 different weddings. For the diner we were redirected towards an outside restaurant in the city. The charm had left.
The room was a nice size for one person. Food is good. The room is clean and made up well. The TV channels are limited for English channels. There could have been more towels and toilettries. The spa was not what I expected for the expensive price. They need to update their old spa tubs as they are far too small and uncomfortable. This is more like a 3-star spa now. I was told by a desk clerk that their Land Haus Restaurant was closed, and it was not. I was told to go to the expensive restaurant for which I did not like for lunch. The waitstaff did not smile & acted annoyed with their jobs. The desk staff then apologized to me that the Land Haus Restaurant was indeed open, and they made a mistake. They did not offer to take anything off the bill. I had to pay over 30 Euros for a lunch that I did not want. They could have given me a complimentary lunch for the mistake.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The views were lovely and the spa facilities were excellent.
every thing its a great place to stop
Comfort of the whole premises, value for money
The room was nice and had a terrace that looked out to the forest. In the rooms, you need to put an electrical outlet beside the work desk. I had no place to plug in my laptop there so I had to sit at the small table which was not comfortable.
The level of comfort and quality of lodging and catering was very high.
The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was reasonable too.
Excellent location within the heart of the Pfalzwald countryside. The hotel itself was first class - beautiful rooms and spa facilities, including a lovely indoor swimming pool. The service from staff was courteous and friendly and the food was of the highest standard and beautifully presented in a lovely dining room and terrace.
hotel staff, restaurant staff bathroom size and equipment, too small, you never expect such a bathroom in a four stars hotel.
The Hotel was very beautiful and the room was very comfortable. It was interesting to stay in a converted prison. The parking; they seemed to have enough when we checked in, but they had people that wernt staying at the hotel park in in the lot.
Somewhere completely different, real attention to detail it has been stunningly refurbished. Warm welcome and very clean.
The design elements were excellent. It really makes the most of being an old prison. Complete with black and white striped curtains and towels, the hotel was fun to stay at. We stayed in one of the comfort rooms and it was great, though a little small. The clerk was a little cold upon arrival. It may have been because we are Americans and were speaking English to each other, though I tried to speak in German for all of the check-in process. Also the pillows were quite thin. Other than that, everything was great!
Novelty factor of sleeping in a cell. Clean & modern. Communal showers. No Wi-fi in rooms. Breakfast - would be better with hot food options.
The hotel looks good, is very clean and staff are helpful and welcoming. My room (cell room) was basic but comfortable. Very good breakfast. Wifi available in the reception area. Nice atmosphere in the hotel.
Comfortable room, friendly staff, walking distance to downtown and other activites, WIFI available in lobby. Decent breakfast buffet. While WIFI was available in the public area, it would have been nice to have it in the room.
I stayed in a cell room, and it was sparse as a prison cell should be. It was comfortable for what it was suppose to be. A nice breakfast buffet. The price for the cell rooms was a little expensive.
It was a very unique experience staying in a former prison. Barb Wire, white walls, breakfast buffet was good. easy to find. a cool hotel no tv in the rooms
The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. The hotel was clean and easy to find. The cells were larger than we thought! Fun place to stay with High School group!!
The hotel was really nice and modern inside yet kept lots of the original prison features. Very clean throughout. I would have preferred the bed to be a double, rather than two singles pushed together.
Excellent, comfortable modern room. Rang to say we were arriving lte. The hotel does have a restaurant and kitchen. Arrived at 10pm. tired and hungry. Told by night staff waitress/check in there was nothing to eat - I even asked for some bread and there was no response. As the hotel is in the country and nothing was opened in the very small, this response didn't warrant the 4* rating! Also, only 1 towel + limited bathroom supplies in a double room. Little things, but made me critical of the rating. Didn't expect we should have to ask for these basics as it was a booking. The following morning, with different staff, the service was impeccable. Proving that individual employees make a huge difference to a business.
The hotels staff was very accommodating when it came to my wife and I's request. The hotel is literally miles from civilization and one would think that there would be more in the room (i.e. refrigerator, microwave) that way you can make sure you have something to snack on at night. That is unless you don't mind driving 15km to get something to eat. The price is
hotel staff none smoking area inside/bar
I stayed here before and it was as good as ever. My room was no-smoking (booking specified smoking).
Excellent, Overall enjoyable due to fantastic staff, Infact very nice staff, and helpful, Food was good and ambience was good aswell at the restaurant. Rooms were very small, I had to pay more and upgrade to bigger room, but still it was small as compared to other rooms I have been to
Beautiful setting. Atmosphere very pleasant and staff friendly A bit expensvie because of poor exchange rate of euro to pound.
secured parking with a gate no view but great breakfast buffet
The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful
I stayed at this hotel because it was the closest to the local hospital. My boyfriend and I had gone to Germany on holiday, when he got a case of pancreatitis and had to have his gall bladder removed. I chose this hotel because it was very central in Kaiserslautern, and only a 10 minute walk to the hospital. The staff were amazing. They all spoke English very well, and were very understanding when I had to extend my stay several days after my original departure time. Breakfast is included, which was great. The hotel is located downtown, within walking distance of several restaurants, a grocery store, and park where they had a carnival and other fun things on the weekend. If we ever went back to K-town, I would stay at this hotel again! They advertised free wi-fi, but it was only available in one of the buildings that make up this hotel. They did have a computer in the breakfast room that was free for guests to use though.
The hotel staff and the breakfast. There wasn't an alarm clock available. The front desk closed by 2130 and if I came back to the hotel after that I couldn't request a wake up call. It would have been nice to have an alarm clock available to set for myself.
friendly staff, good breakfast and great acess to city center.
the hotel was comfortable and warm and near our son who we went to visit
Location of hotel is excellent!! I would have liked a double bed since I booked a double room. Two people sleeping together on those twin beds are ridiculous. Had to sleep like brother and sister rather than husband and wife!
Everything was fantastic. The hotel staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was great. I stayed for nearly a month, and the room was spacious enough to be comfortable for that extended length of time. The location is fabulous. In addition to being close to the pedestrian area, there are several restaurants within a couple of blocks.
It was quite, clean and within walking of dinning and shopping> The staff leaves at 10:00 pm but I did not need them.
Location was great and staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were VERY comfortable. Lack of Air Conditioning...but with the cool night air and the windows it was still fairly comfortable.
Loved the service. Free breakfast and the restaraurant at the hotel was very classy. Great spa as well Didn't like that the spa wasn't open when it was suppose to be. No pool either.
The best Landstuhl has to offer, great location, quiet, walking distance to the restored castle with overview of the city; within walking distance to the town. Highly recommend no
Room on second floor large, airy and fresh. Outdoor bier garden with friendly atmosphere and good food. staff friendly and speak English well.Pleasantly surpised by quality for price. Nice walks in the woods. Would have stayed longer if not booked.
I liked the beer garden outside. It was nice just to have a lazy day and relax and have a few beers while I ate in the beer garden.
The location was very nice. It is located in a park with walking trails. The staff was pleasant and certainly made us feel welcome. The food was excellent. Wish we had stayed longer - will definitely go back.
Surrounded by woods. The owner was very helpful. He provided transportation to two events. Nice restaurant & good food, and many fine, cold breakfast foods--included with room. Would stay here again!!!
View, and good environtment
Our family room was a good size for 4 people and well prepared but the room facilites were spartan. There was no coffee machine or kettle. This place is foremost a restaurant and beer garden with rooms attached. It has none of the facilites of a hotel and is more like a large B&B. To get to the top floor where the rooms are you have to navigate up 3 stories of stairs that are tired, stained and smell.
Great size family room, recently refurbished with fantastic ensuite bathroom and tasteful decor. Outside a great beer garden and childrens play area. Also it was out of town , we went walking in to the forest where there was also swings and slides for children. Very beautiful area.Staff very friendly. No it was very impressive
After 2 nights in characterless chain hotels in the industrial parts of Verona & Zurich, Hotel Bremerhof was just what we needed. All 4 of us slept very well in comfy beds in the quiet countryside, and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Personally, I also enjoyed my morning run in the beautiful forest and the misty views from the Humburg Tower.
The hotel was nestled in the woods with great running trails as well as horses and cows. We happened to get there the last night of a jazz festival, and there was a band playing. The music was great and the beer garden is huge. Also, great breakfast the next morning.
Wonderful location in the country. So quiet. Had a good dinner. Staff was friendly and helpful.
