One evening after dinner, we found our room door wide open. No one could seem to tell me whether Kayak had charged my room or whether the hotel would charge my card. On checkout day, when we returned to the room to get our luggage after breakfast, the rom keys were already deactivated. We phoned for someone to come but no one did so I had to go to the lobby to get a new key. On the way to the lobby I asked the porters to send a golf cart to get our luggage and to get our car but this took a long time.
Fantastic Simply Fantastic! Gourmet Food, Excellent Accomodation, Best we've ever stayed at. Highly Recomend
This hotel ticks all the boxes and was well above all our expectations for a 5* boutique hotel All other guests were of the same opinion. Excellent restaurant, great ambiance,décor and superb hosts.
Very relaxing and trusting owners. Food in the restaurant excellent none
One of the best Guesthouses we have ever stayed in South Africa. We visit SA twice a year since 15 years and this was just perfect! Modern and big rooms with many little details, extremely clean, nice garden. Very moderate rates (in Cape Town it would be double the price for a similar type of accom). Owners and staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A big "Thank you" to everyone at the Cinnamon. We'll be back!
Large rooms, owners very accomodating, food delicious in restaurant.
Friendlyness of the owners, comfort, close to the beach, and the interior design is very beuatiful.
We have stayed in lots of different accomodations in our 5 weeks in sa This has to be by far the best.5 star LUXURY.with fantastic views.very friendly hosts. We had to leave after 2 nights there, would have loved to stay longer
It is a fantastic place, we could not belive it when we arrived. the perfect beach location with very welcoming hosts, ready to assist in any matters.
Not a hotel, more like being a house guest in the owners home. The owners were superb hosts and the other guests were delightful company. The location was stunning and very well sign posted so easy to find. Not 'didn't like', but a suggestion. We had to travel for several hours from our previous location and so were going to arrive much later than the stated checkin time. I would have liked to have been able to telephone Xanadu owners and let them know, as a courtesy, that were were on our way. However, the booking confirmation print out didn't give a contact telephone number.
The ocean view is amazing.
wonderful peaceful place. wonderful accommadation and a great breakfast. We will certainly return. Albert, Tersia and staff were all very very nice.We stayed for 4 nights in the Presidential Suite and loved it Nothing really
The hospitality, the ocean view, the comfort nothing
The hospitality and the views match the luxury surroundings
Website does not do justice to this luxury guesthouse, way beyond our expectations, by far the best place we stayed in South Africa. Next time we will request a sea view room. Restaurants were not walking distance in our opinion and no taxis; although Albert did offer to drive us to the restaurant and collect us when we were ready to return.
this hotel was really wonderfull . the location fantastic . the veiw beutfull . and thanks for albert and his wife
I liked the complete package of luxury, friendliness of the staff and the owner in a beautiful environment and in close proximity of several major attractions. Also liked the fact that it is close to all the shops! Really felt so at home and the surprise champagne breakfast on Christmas morning was such a wonderful surprise. Really felt at home and will most definitely return.
The swimming pool. The breakfast choice was limited and changes not permitted. Also the rooms lacked a chair.
The lay-out of the rooms, pool and outside tables and chairs make it cosy yet private. Staff are friendly and helpfull. Decor should be "French" instead of the "Big Five".
The rooms were comfortable, clean and good value for money. It was an easy drive for us to go to KKNK with the bonus of driving through the passs everyday
The owner was pleasant and the location was convenient. The setting was quite attractive. The whole place was a little messy and the jacuzzi was dirty.
The room was in a nice setting by the pool. Spacious and well equipped. Convenient location near N2 and George city centre. Room smelt and appeared to be damp (had rained heavily onto thatched room). Didn't feel very secure.
Staff very friendly even though i arrived an hour and a half early. Manager/owner noel very welcoming even though he was busy.Would stay again.
the room was very dirty and cold, internet and international TV didn't work
Not very good impression when arriving at the guesthouse
Friendliness of staff, especially Natasha. Location N.A.
It was relaxing, well organised. Denise was extremely friendly and went out of her way to please We were happy
Lovely location, friendly owners.
The location and the view of the ocean were great. The hosts were very nice and helpfull all the way!!! Yes, the couble have to think about heating of the Louge during winter season!!!
The personal touch and consideration by the owners who were involved in hands on management Nothing to report
I really liked wilderness and from Mount Fleur it was only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Friendly owner and staff and great value for money.
very welcoming and friendly owners. the location was excellent in what is a beautiful, relaxed and safe location. nothing
location was great! Denise the proprietor was exceptionally helpful & friendly. Great place to relax when in wilderness
the excellent service, welcome and breakfast
We had a nice and perfect stay.friendly people, lovely room, charming atmosphere, good value for money, very clean. more than i expected thank you!!
We stayed at Acorn for 1 night. The room and facilities were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.
Staff were helpful and welcoming. The position of the hotel is excellent, very central. Rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent value for money.
The hotel was good, the town of George isn't somewhere where I would stay again - it's not really for leisure travel.
Great room Freindl staff
Good location at heart of town, and convenient for visiting the Garden Route. Good breakfasts. Friendly staff. Extremely cold bedroom, made worse by the sash window being ill fitting and the glass on the brink of falling out of the window frame. No action taken to get a joiner to fix it despite it being in dangerous condition. Owner seemed unconcerned at danger of injury to clients. Lack of razor power points in bedrooms/bathrooms.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Location was great and staff were friendly and helpful Lots! It is not a 4 star hotel as advertised by any means. Breakfast was fine but do not eat in the restaurant in the evening as the food is inedible. No lifts so a porter is essential.
Comfortable I was not given a room golf course facing.Although I had proof of booking there was some confusion regarding my booking.I Was given a suite over looking thr front of the hotel.
Location, room size, outlook Disappointing carvery dinner - expensive and not particularly appetising.
Big, comfortable room with balcony overlooking golf course. Hotel was just off the main road and well sign-posted. Good selection of food for breakfast with special selection for children. Buffet-style evening meal was also good and reasonably priced for a hotel.
Very neat, quiet, peacefull place. Some things in the room was not working.
It was well situated for what i needed. Also the rooms were nice and spacious. I found the breakfast to be very expensive R135 for a fried egg and a cup of coffee!! Also the fact that there is no internet availability in the room is a bit of an inconvenience.
The room we stayed in as a family was very spacious. Which made it very comfortable for my toddler to walk around and enjoy the space. I also liked the seperate tv/lounge area. It was an amazing time staying at the hotel and will definitely stay at the Protea Hotel King George again.
the peace and quiet and relaxing atmosphere no
The breakfast.the swimming pool. Bathroom.dinner.food for room service.
This hotel was like staying in a coach station and it smelled of damp. Sadly, it must have been lovely in its day but now it is not. The evening meal was virtually inedible, however the omelette in the morning was pretty good - too bad we queued so long to get it that someone else took over our table and our tea was cleared.
Hotel old and very dated - could do with some a refresh! Rooms were dated and dark!
Its a total relaxing atmosphere and I will keep going back. Definatelly recommend it.
The atmosphere was very relaxing, with a strong friendly feeling. We felt very much at home the moment we arrived. We felt that the room we were in, 156 although comfortable, could have done with refurbishment.. The shower was particularly bad. Bathroom needed up-dating.
The hotel is ideally and conveniently situated relative to the shopping and dining spots. It is just about the right distance from the busy highway but close enough to the beach. We loved the hotel's dining facilities and the staff were fantastic. The bathroom could do with a bit of a facelift, the wooden railing on the balcony is a safety hazard and the room was smelly from the previous occupants' smoking!!
The feel, location and price The staff at the reception could not get the computer to work properly, - lovely, friendly people but need training
Efficiency & friendlyness of personell. Facilities offered.
Although the comfort of the rooms were good, the linen on the single beds are small and do not tuck in properly. The breakfast buffet is always good and the toasted chicken mayo of room service. The location of the TV - should rather be on tv shelf higher up on the wall. The flooring/carpets could be upgraded
