7.0 Good
Pros: Quaint and rustic. Very historical with beautiful views and absolute silence at night. The tea garden was a delight. The hosts were great and the place is very clean. The location was great it's about forty minutes away from George, Mossel bay and Oudshoorn.
Cons: Some kitchen appliances can be updated and added, but the hosts would be more than willing to accommodate your needs.
7.0 Good
Pros: good location and view
Cons: nothing
5.0 Okay
Cons: Dogs allowed in neighbour room. Dog started to bark before 5am in the morning which is very disruptive. My advise to the owners, please try to be a bit friendly. If you own a guest farm or house you need to be friendly, at least smile during welcoming or when one have a discussion with one another. A guest farm or house is all about good hospitality which we did not experienced.
7.9 Good
Pros: The space and the location
Cons: No tv or WiFi
6.0 Good
Pros: Farm was situated half way between George and Oudtshoorn which was very convenient. Rooms were cleaned and tidied daily. Evening meal was very good.
Cons: Breakfast was good food but very limited for choice. No offer of alternatives to sliced bread. Bathroom in need of update. No hand rail in bath for shower and curtain very poor. Not suitable for anyone slightly disabled as only way up to property was via ten steps and no hand rail. We have been told the pool is being updated as no loungers and no paved walkway to the pool. WiFi in main house only which is unusual for accommodation these days
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners Gerrit and Estelle made us very welcome and told us interesting stories about the history of the farm & the area. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the breakfast, lunch in the Tea Garden and a divine lamb dinner in the dining room on the Sunday evening. The outdoor swimming -pool has the most stunning view of the mountains.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Beautifull nature
Cons: The dinner was not the same as showed on the website. At dinner we already saw that the people next door will be a problem. We mention it and the host said they are young and enjoy their life....we must put cottonwool in our ears!!!!What????They with their commotion half past 3 this morning....We want our money back since we booked there the guest house said it is a quiet peacefull place and that is not what we got!!!They didnt even bother to just tell them there is peoole next door very very dissapointed. We pay to sleep over we didnt stay for free that we must be happy with whatever we get...

7.4 Good
Cons: One evening after dinner, we found our room door wide open. No one could seem to tell me whether Kayak had charged my room or whether the hotel would charge my card. On checkout day, when we returned to the room to get our luggage after breakfast, the rom keys were already deactivated. We phoned for someone to come but no one did so I had to go to the lobby to get a new key. On the way to the lobby I asked the porters to send a golf cart to get our luggage and to get our car but this took a long time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception staff the potter drivers the breakfast not forgetting the security the environment....
Cons: The cleaning staff weren't really doing the good job the bathroom glasses and mirrors looked like they were being wiped with wet towels and the first day the duvet cover had some stains .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property.
Cons: Corona virus caused all restaurants etc to Close at 6 pm. Sad, but they had to do it.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is in a beautiful golf estate.
Cons: When we arrived, they refused to carry our bags stating that the service was no longer available. The hotel smelled of dust and the room of smoke. The tv and aircon in the room was not working. When we asked for help, the maintenance person told us the hotel was shut down. We found garden furniture inside the room with dust and bird poo. We were then moved to another room after which time they switched off our electricity in the early hours of the morning, around 6/7. They refused to cater for breakfast even though it was included in the room rate, stating that the hotel was shutting down. They gave us small packs. We were not informed of the hotel shutting down prior to ur stay and were treated rudely by the staff
4.6 Okay
Cons: Poor service at reception since book in Poor service from porters Poor service from room service Poor service at breakfast (unorganised)
5.0 Okay
Cons: Aircon did not work sufficiently Water was not hot Room service took very long and food was cold when it arrived - they did not however charge for it. Three plugs did not work in one of our rooms
1.0 Poor
Pros: Beautiful location and room with a view.
Cons: We communicated in several occasions if it was still safe to come to the Hotel amidst the COVID-19 outbreak (even phoning on The morning of our arrival and speaking to Brian) and were reassured that it was ‘business as usual’. The staff at Herolds Restaurant were clueless! Room service served in polystyrene boxes (how is that any more hygienic than a plate covered up with dome/cling film?). Lemon aioli was changed for slices of lemon. Preserves for ‘cheese platter’ swopped with apricot and strawberry jam. Checked in at 2:30pm, received a call from management at 6pm to tell us there is a confirmed case of Corona in the hotel. We can choose to leave or stay. We couldn’t leave as we were way above the legal limit for driving. Next morning they had the audacity to charge us for the one night and treat us like we were stupid when it comes to food! Seriously R180 for a ‘cheese platter’ served in a 15cm by 15cm polystyrene tub. Essentially made up of 1cm square blocks of 4 cheeses and cashew nuts and raisins... oh and jam? Also found check in cards from previous ‘occupants’ on shelf above tv. So how well did this room get cleaned before we arrived? Due to your selfish mismanagement of a serious matter I am now isolated and cannot see my kids or family for 14 days! Ridiculous!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great experience - food was amazing and the staff were friendly, helpful and overall a delight! Will be back

Cons: The Links golf Course has become completely Elitist and we were refused a Junior fee for my daughter to play ...its not in the spirit of the game of Golf.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Style, scenery, and luxury
Cons: Golf must be included in this very high rate, other ppl stayed at Fancourt with golf included other times. When I enquired about golf I was quoted a very high rate to play in addition of the room rate, one of the reasons I stayed at Fancourt was to play golf. Will only stay at Fancourt again if golf is included in the room rate, it used to be

Pros: We enjoyed the comfortable bed, the room had a modern finish and did not seem outdated and as old as the building itself, we also enjoyed the breakfast variety.

Pros: The owners were very friendly and proud of their accomodation. We were greeted warmly and given a superb meal on the evening of our arrival.Privacy was insured by the layout of the different rooms and cottages and the swimming pool was sparklingly clean and a hit with the younger guests
Cons: The weather was particularly hot and humid and the one free standing fan was unable to cool our room effectively
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly staff, delicious breakfast, beautiful views of ocean. Very comfy spacious rooms
Cons: Laundry costs are extortionate- we were charged 350 rand (other guesthouses charged us 50 rand and 120 rand). Meals in house were nice for adults but expensive for the kids (charged 75 rand for a handful of plain spaghetti) Lots of steps leading up to the property
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome and lovely breakfast. Great recommendation and booking for dinner.
7.0 Good
Pros: The owners were really great and helpful. The pool is nice as well, although it get´s shady "quite early" (about 2-3 hours before sundown). The rooms is equipped with everything one needs, but nothing fancy.
Cons: no "drink buffet" during breakfast. The sunbeds at the pool are terribly uncomfortable (& old as well). The room was, in general, just a tad bit "outdated" (it felt like stepping into a 30 year old past), even though everything was clean!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very friendly warm welcome, nicely situated on a quiet road, with a pool, easy walk down to the beach, and close to an excellent restaurant, Girls on the Square. We’d highly recommend this for=an overnight or longer stay.
Xanadu Guest Villa - Wilderness - Pool

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge during limited hours, and free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is the best
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, (once you’ve moved all the heavy bedding off, leather roll etc) Very clean, Location of guesthouse is great with main areas overlooking the beach with steps down with shower and extras to take on the beach and a well tended garden with loungers and maintained plunge pool.
Cons: We stayed 4 nights, we booked in October. Our balcony overlooked the car park, we felt access was too easy to our room , bonnet of car step up to balcony) so we couldn’t have the door open when the air con couldn’t be used. Our balcony room no. 3 (sea folly) was next to generator and bin area. The dogs didn’t like the noise of generator when there was a power cut and barked and barked. First morning woken up with bottles clattering and boxes being broken down for bin collection and washing down the yard. I felt like I was staying above a pub. Also each morning outside our room had staff (4) replenishing tea and biscuits out of the drawers which felt intrusive and while you were at breakfast they made bed etc before you’ve had a chance to put stuff away. I don’t agree with having to give the time you want breakfast (you’re on holiday) and saying what you want, eggs take minutes to cook and it’s only 5 rooms. Coffee machine not nice coffee, needs updating. Didn’t like the large table format to eat breakfast forcing conversation. Two small tables that would always be taken first in preference. It all felt very contrived and oppressive, they’re nice people but it feels so outdated with a pot of jam and a pen to send you on your way. We stayed at many guest houses on our trip really feels Xanadu is in a time warp. Just give me what I paid for because the mountain view was not our focus.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic setting right on the beach with beautiful views. Awesome hosts & staff. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Will definitely be back!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is absolutely beautiful, throughout the house was relaxing music which made it feel very tranquil. The views throughout the whole house were insane and our balcony was so amazing. We enjoyed watching the stars at night, listening to the waves crashing. The breakfast was the best we've ever had, served by wonderful, friendly ladies. Thank you for having us!! We dream of returning one day!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great facility and location with access to the beach and beautiful views. The hospitality of the staff and owners is beyond excellent.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I looked it up and found Xanadu meant paradise, quite a precise description. As we entered the villa we were welcomed by a striking view of soft sandy beach and undulating waves of the Indian Ocean. The interior is decorated with dark wood furniture and upholstered sofas, large impressive oil paintings of wild cats and sculptures. It feels like staying at a friend's five-star home rather than a hotel. We had a spot to ourselves for breakfast, facing the beach every morning. Friendly and accommodating staff, welcoming and sophisticated hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed this piece of paradise as a highlight of our Garden Route journey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s amazing for couples
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Rooms were very comfortable and nice tranquil feeling with the pool right in front of us. With just the 2 rooms at poolside, it feels very private. Breakfast was great, hostess really went the extra mile.
Cons: TV mount needs some adjustment but other than that, it was a really good stay, no complaints at all.

Cons: The mattress was uncomfortable, toilet seat was loose.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The furniture is dated and needs replacing, possible installation of air conditioning in all units.
Cons: Dated furniture.
7.0 Good
Pros: Fantastic views and feathered visitors to one balcony, Lovely pool and generous breakfasts,
6.0 Good
Cons: There are so many stairs to climb to get anywhere! Definitely not ideal for a holiday. And the balcony's barriers have a gap that is too big to keep toddlers safe. I won't be going again. The coffee machine did not work during our stay! They gave us instant coffee instead. The aircon did not work during our stay - after bringing it to their attention, they merely brought a portable little zircon which we even had to set up ourselves.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Literally everything... The phrase hidden gem is overused. This place is for you if you want zero fuss, laid back but attentive service, phenomenal apartment/chalets with wonderful views of the ocean, going to sleep to the sound of the sea every night and a walk on the beach every morning... Enjoy...

Pros: The views and staff
9.0 Excellent
Pros: What an amazing view! Woke up and had a panorama view of the ocean from my bed!
Cons: You need to take quite some stairs to get to your cottage and the restaurant. We didn’t mind, but it may be a problem for older people or people with young children.

4.2 Okay
