Perfect sausages and beer.
This is a great hotel. Our staying was really good, the room was very nice, the hotel has a big garden and also the home cooking was excellent! We enjoyed very much staying at this hotel, really relaxing!
Good, efficient, friendly staff. Difficult to find especially as the nearest town centre which we should have gone through was closed.
Good restaurant in the hotel too many mosquitos ;-) but still a nice place
Screens on the room window. The common areas in the older part had a bad smell. The bathroom was very small.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. They waited up for us as we had unforeseen delays in our travel plans. The room was very, very clean and the breakfast was the best European breakfast buffet we've had during our travels and exceeded our expectations! We also chose to have dinner at the Hotel so we could relax and the meal was beyond exceptional. We had a fantastic time and plan to stay at the hotel again. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something outside of the city hustle. Beautiful grounds!
Very friendly and helpfull staff, nice rooms, tasty food, I do recommend.
New and big rooms, very comfortable, we are really satisfied and we suggest this hotel to all. Nothing
There is a restaurant at the hotel and it has wonderful food. They also have a breakfast buffet that was good too.
A great hotel with really nice rooms. The staff where very serviceminded.
very friendly staff and nice hotel
In very good condition. They must have just renovated it. Beautiful woodwork. Our room was the largest we've stayed in Europe. Located in the countryside, but stategically between Rothenburg, Dinkelbuhl with Swabish Hall and Nurnberg within an hour. Breakfast is basic. Nothing fancy, but enough to eat. Dinner was very good. My husband and son loved the baked pork covered in cheese. I had Schnitzel which was tasty. After dinner, we were serenaded by our desk clerk/waiter. He played guitar well and had a wonderful voice. Very pleasant stay after walking around Rothenburg all day. A little tricky to find the turn north after exiting the Autobahn 6. Need a good map to know the towns on the same road as the hotel. In the town of Dorfgutingen, look for a sign to Rodenweiler, turn there and then Aurach-Vehlberg is after that. When you see the Autoban running parallel on your left, you are on the right road.
Very nice room. Stayed in a 5 person family room and it had more than enough space for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Buffet breakfast was nice, a standard European selection of meats, cheese and cereal. TV was about 13-15 inches and had 1 English-speaking channel but that is not a deal breaker. TV could be a little bigger so that it would be easier to see from across this large room.
The Hotel is brand new and the rooms are bright and large. Comfortable beds. Great food. Good location to visit Wuertzburg, Rothenburg and Nuernberg, all within one hour or less. It was difficult to find in the evening since there are not many street signs. Bring a GPS
It is very new. Furnishings and hotel are very nice. Great value for the money. Could use a phone or a clock in the room.
Nice location, close to Romantic Road, newness, helpful staff, spacious rooms.
The location was good and the rooms very spacious. There was no one to help with our bags so we had to carry them ourselves two flights of steps. It was 92 degrees outside and our room temperature was 105 degrees with no air or ventilation. By far the worst night on the whole trip. We had paid for valet parking and found our car on the street parked illegally and unlocked late at night.
the hotel is beautiful and is very centrally located, making it a wonderful place to stay for a visit to Dinkelsbuhl the staff was not very friendly
The room was much bigger than we expected - more like a suite with an entry hall, full size shower room and a sitting area with couch. The hotel is quite quaintly decorated which we found to be a unique touch. You really get a feel for the history of the hotel from staying there. Location was great being on the main square of the town. There is a daily night-watchman tour that departs from just across the road and during the day, there is a horse and carriage tour that departs from the building next door. As there is limited parking in the town, we reserved a car park and the staff kindly offered to park the car in the garage themselves and retrieve it the next day for us. For light sleepers, be aware that the main church is directly opposite the hotel and the church bells can be quite loud and go on for some time. This did not bother us as the location and views of the town more than made up for this.
Simply fantastic Old Hotel :) We will come back there for sure!
Really enjoyed staying a historical building. It is amazing such an old one is still alive "in service". Only if there would be a lift, however, we understand why there wasn's.
Excellent location, beautiful, noteworthy historic building with updated rooms, gracious dining room where an ample breakfast is served. Guests should know that parking is off-site and at an extra cost.
Very modern and trendy, but still in an historic setting. It's a thing, but we dislike German hotel beds (too hard) and pillows (too soft and flat) but this was common to all German hotels.
Located in the town, close to restaurants & shops. Friendly helpful staff. Plenty of space in the apartment to relax. Very quiet - couldn't hear other guests. It's a minor point, but cushions on the leather sofa would be nice to make it more comfortable.
Located well off the beated path but within easy driving to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bad Windsheim, Ansbach and Dinkelsbuehl. Country/small town location, quiet, family friendly. Good meals in the pension restaurant.
Staff performance, clean rooms, excellent food I couldn't find any ...
Very welcoming staff. Delicious dinner. Wonderful breakfast. The new building, where we stayed, was very clean. Outstanding value for cost.
the unavailabilry of transportation to Nuremberg
The service and food were great. The owners were friendly and eager to please. I would highly recommend this Pension to anyone traveling in the area around Ansbach or Rottenburg. NO
The couple who own this place were very accommodating and friendly. We booked one night and liked it so much we stayed two more. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners there while we day-tripped to Rothenberg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbuhl, Wurzburg, and Schwabisch Hall. We will go back if we are again in the area.
The location was central to a range of sight-seeing locations - Rothenburg, Wurzberg, Nuremburg, Castle / Romantic Roads. We were treated like family rather than customers. NA
Kind hotel staff, clean, nice, good breakfast. A really pleasent stay, we recomend it!
The food is excellant. The Hofmann family goes above and beyond the norm to ensure that their guests are cared for. I recommend this Gasthaus highly to anyone.
We arrived in Dinkelsbuhl on a rainy evening early in the week. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Our kids loved having a room overlooking the street. Dinner was outstanding...possibly the best meal ever, for sure our best meal while traveling around Germany. Loved it! There was no coffee for the in-room coffee maker, but that was not really a big deal because they brew a pot of fresh coffee for you at breakfast upon request.
Excellent food in the hotel restaurant. Wonderful location, friendly staff.
The castle itself is absolutely amazing. The room was beautiful but poorly lit. Very, very noisy. I was awakened twice by drunk people talking really loudly outside (two separate groups of people). After the second incident I had to yell out the window to ask them to be quiet; luckily this group was speaking loudly in english so they understood. The location has a quiet countryside feel but that is deceptive.
i have always wanted to stay in a castle. enjoyed exploring the grounds and castle. I would have liked to go up into the tower part however no one was allowed up there.
The room, staff, and food were excellent I enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. There was not much to do in the evening after dinner.
The best thing about the hotel is the fact that it is a castle. For those who want to know how does it feel to sleep in an old castle, that's your hotel! Because of its nature, the hotel lacks some confort items, such as elevators, big bathrooms and so.
the ambience and setting
Beautiful place, Staff very nice Room was warm, no fan
Great character. Amazing historical referance. Interesting rooms/furnature in the hotel. Near Rothesburg od de Tauber. Very clean and comfortable. Great rates. A little bit small, but not much space is needed when traveling
Very friendly owners. Good combination of art & hotel business. Good location. Clean rooms. We would come back.
very nice artist host, great location
friendly family run hotel in pretty little and fairly unspoilt town. No evening meal but owner is pleased to recommend restaurants.
Amazing room decor!
My wife and I went to Germany for our honeymoon. We stayed in Dinkelsbuhl for the last few nights of our trip. It was nothing less than fantastic! The owners were more than accomodating. The breakfasts were great, the decor was very unique and the art studio displayed many of the owner's pieces. We even bought a few I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone else to do the same!
Helpful owners, location of the hotel, free parking Cannot be helped for the old and somewhat historical building such as this, but there is no lift so putting up and down heavy suitcases is troublesome.
everything was just pleasant and relaxed
We enjoyed our suite, it was spacious with beautiful paintings and antique cabinets. We had good contact with the owners of the hotel, and fond memories of our two days stay. A word of advice, if available, book the suite, it is well worth the extra few dollars. Not the hotel, but the italian restaurant next door was poor, salty soup, pasty pizza, poor service. There are better places in town to eat.
The artist owners created something extraordinary to this very old building. We will certainly return to this lovely hotel (and the city) again some day.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The bathroom was modern and larger than many in other hotels where we stayed. The location is quiet, but it is also convenient for day trips to other sites of interest in the area.
The staff was responsive and nice, the spa/pool area is beautiful and the food was superb! The only thing I did not like was the 20 Euro fee to put a crib into the room.
Staff was delightful and friendly, spoke English, and the restaurant was divine. We would have eaten there twice save that they were closed on Sundays and Mondays when we were there. Their suggestions however were great for restaurants close by. Rooms were pristine, bath extremely comfortable, beds good. We were in room 26 which appeared charming and spacious (which it was) but a busy road ran between the buildings (which wasn't obvious at first) and was very noisy (like train running through noisy). Also, because the room was stuffy, we needed the windows open which made it worse. I would have liked to have been informed about this and given a choice. The room itself was beautiful and roomy and very comfortable.
The location of the hotel and its great tasting food are excellent. Nice place to stay and enjoy the area. Staff seemed a bit rushed and uncaring.
Pool & spa were excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly Located on a busy town street so a little noisy. Our bedroom was a little small
This hotel is ideally situated in the heart of this historic smaller town allowing a traveller to park the car and wander through the shops, experience a great meal and explore the past - in which the hotel is a good start. The open sherry flask is not a good idea - providing a 'nightcap' was a thoughtful touch but I only drink something that I open myself or in a restaurant.
Nice place, superb dinner, Not really helpful in assistance and help, when I asked to print some pages from a travel guide, which the Hotel is even associated with.
Excellent reception at the desk and convenient to all interesting sights. Easy street parking for 2 euros every 24 hours, and good breakfast in dining room.
The rooms are more than OK. Excelent restaurant. Top quality.People where very friendly. Wireless work very well.
friendliness of everyone - very clean - excellent food -
I liked the 400 year old buildings, the excellent location in this town, the rooms that were tastefully furnished and the hospitality of the staff. No, everything was fine.
very modern rooms, very practical and well set out. limited dinner menu.
helpful staff, spacious and comfortable room, nice breakfast, good location in town
I had a short but pleasant stay at the hotel.
Quality and comfort of the hotel. Excellent breakfirst. Coffee machine is great. Very quiet No restaurant available during my 3 days stay.
Comfort of the room and quality of the breakfirst
Nice hotel. Excellent location. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Excellent value for the money.
Central location in old town. Garage for motorcycle. Tiny shower, room not as requested.
very lovely room at the heart of the town
Rooms were large and comfortable. Lots of knick knacks around so it seemed like we were staying in someones house. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Free parking a plus. Wi fil charge excessive...8 euro for 60 minutes. Heat was turned off at night but luckily it wasn't freezing yet outside.
The family room was big enough for four of us, and bath room has a large and deep bath tub. Also, the dinner was very delicious and the price was reasonable as wel. Everything was perfect, and we want to stay there again.
The location of the hotel is excellent for walking around Dinkelsbuhl old town. The hotel and rooms were very quaint and the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast provided was also excellent.
The staff were extremely polite and helpfull. Room was lovely and clean. Didn't want to leave
The rooms were niced size as were the bathrooms. Free parking and even tho there was no lift, you could drive around back and bring luggage in on 2nd floor from the parking area. breakfast was good, although the woman tending to it didn't seem too friendly toward us. It is located on a side street so there is no view other than the other buildings across the street. It is in a small town so everything is close. tho, Wi fi is 8 euro for 60 minutes. Seemed like lots of "stuff" around
Right in the heart of Dinkelsbuml which is a walled-in mid-evil small city - all cobblestone roads, colorful buildings, real neat place to visit.
Really nice hotel full of character with friendly staff. Good garage for safe cycle storage. Great breakfast (again!) Everything was good.
The Hotel is traditional in character with modern standards , good local food with English menus available and friendly staff
The hotel staff were great, the services were top quality, the amenities were clean and convinient. Booked my next stay already because I was impressed. No.
Hotel is beautiful. View from the restaurant is very nice and the dishes are very tasty. Hotel staffs are very kind. Internet connection was week.
I was given a very nice room with a balcony and views over the city; quite lovely.
