Typical bait and switch. Apparently we were told that every single room near or walking distance to the beach was not available. This was the case even though i booked six months ago. They literally put us in the last building on the property. The LAST building. It was even past the reception (or before if your coming off the street). It was like almost next to the street. This is ridiculous. When i spoke to Arnaldo, whom i was told was the manager (yet i saw no identification) he could offer nothing to help. No solution. No discount. No hope. My mother (who has never been to punta cana) is very upset. The hotel expects us to wait 10-15 to take a train to the beach (which is a 10 minute train ride away). If he really was the manager, he didn't solve anything. I am so disappointed at this experience. We are paying over $1,200 USD for 2 nights and this is what we are getting for it. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. If they actually act on it after i post this i will let you all know. Electricity went out on my last day. Some drinks were not included (therefore this was not all inclusive).
Spa service was exceptional. Bars have a good selection of drinks, and the bartenders were friendly. The staff in general was very friendly and helpful. Bag delivery and delivery service could take a long time.

Everyone seemed to be VIP or the LEVELS this year. Didn't feel as special...
The staff were really nice and friendly Check in was crazy with the wait but that was just the beginning, apparently there is a wait even to go into your room for some train that goes around the whole place it seems before dropping you off. You would think a sunny place like this would use a solar powered vehicle if some kind, but no they use diesel fuel with fumes smacking you right into your face as you ride the train and we had a baby with us. Never gain even if they offer me free stay.
The resort was just amazing. Everything about our stay was perfect. The food was great and the ocean was fabulous and so close. The resort was so beautiful and so clean. Can't wait to go back.
Beach was great! Several front desk staff and restaurant servers had very nasty and rude personalities; no remote control for TV and did not get one for 2 days despite asking repeatedly; food in main buffet was not kept very hot; I got Traveler's diarrhea while there because of the food; housekeeping did not clean room twice! I had a butler, who was not very responsive or helpful; I had to complain and act crazy with the front desk in order for them to do their jobs with regards to my room, room service, my butler,etc. I felt like I was working because of the lazy service instead of enjoying myself! Never again!
When we arrived they had no reservation for us. They claimed we were booked at the catalonia bavaro not the royal. Our friends that booked with us had a room waiting. I showed them my receipt that clearly stated catalonia royal bavaro. We waited and waited for hours until we were given a room, only to have to move to three rooms until we had a room that the air conditioner worked. Now it's 2am and we are tired. We came to celebrate our anniversary and mentioned it to the front desk when we checked in. I also sent an email to the hotel. We also brought 2 other couples with us to celebrate. Nobody cares. The food was horrible. The pool was chipping paint. Tiles at the pool were broken. The personal service was terrible. We travel around the world and this was the worst I have seen. I can keep going but what's the point!
Comidas, habitaciones, personal, piscinas Las toallas de piscina estan muy lejos, hay que caminar demasiado para buscarlas.

Staff as expected was very splendid and helpful. The room detail indicated that the Wifi was included in the stay but it turned out the WiFi was only free in the hotel lobby. The room charged 4 dollars a night for room usage. And you were only allowed to connect one device to the WiFi per paid night. It is totally ridiculous to charge for such a service if it could have been included in the room rate and save everybody the anger and confusion.

We appreciated great location, especially the beautiful white sandy beach, fantastic all inclusive programme, food in big quality and quantity, friendly staff,... No complaints at all... Everything was all right...
The staff were great. I wish the daily evening shows would have had something special about DR. A little more of a cultural educational or more traditional Dominican dances.. During the multinational show, we wish they would have made announcement of what kind of dances we were about to see...
Ok beach Poor service. Very average food. Better pools only for VIP members. Unhappy workers
