very friendly home like atmosphere, price quality relation, cooperative staff, room with terrace, nice view, funny annimals on site Parking was difficult to use because I was towing classic car on a trailer...The fridge was not working in our room...
Very good hotel, nice staff, good location and food. Interior design is like "80s" .
Location, friendly, breakfast OK Swimming pool locked up, village lovely but very quite
The selection at breakfast was the highlight and the ammeneties were clean and adequate. Some issues with communicating due to language issues.
I couldn't get a hotel in Bayreuth itself but they very kindly picked me up at the station and delivered me there when I was leaving for no charge. The festival shuttle service is a bit pricey at €40 return. I went one way and got a taxi back (€25 including a tip) but they still charged me for a return. On the whole, I have positive feelings about the hotel. I thought it was going to be a hassle staying so far - 15 mins drive - outside Bayreuth, but the Meister Bär makes it easy and pleasant.
I really enjoyed the friendly staff and the personal service. And the fact that you could still get the full menue after the performance at the Festspielhaus.
It suited my purposes well ie to visit Beyreuth. However I specifically requested a room with a bath & booked several weeks prior to my visit. On arrival I was told only 2 rooms had a bath & both were taken! There was a compound underneath the rooms & into the garden for rabbits. At night time there were rats also!
Very kind and polite owners. Excellent food and cosy atmosphere. Thank you.
Stuff is friendly, ~15 min from Bayreuth festival.theater. Nice breakfast. Close recreational park with water. Hadn't time to visit.
great stay. Very confortable.
Later breakfast times suited my agenda The hotel is poorly serviced by public transport (other than taxi) although I understand that the hotel cannot be fully faulted for this issue.
Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. Very good facilities including shuttle bus to the opera festival and chance to eat late at night Menu a little limited - few diet and healthy eating options
Abilitiy to use free bicycles to get around the city. Extremely expensive outsourced clothes-cleaning services. One load of laundry should not cost 50 euros to wash. But it did!!
We missed our train connection, so when we finally got there, it was a relief to see the hotel transport waiting for us. We were also delighted by the shuttle service to and from the Festspielhaus in Bayreuth. Enjoyed our breakfasts and the dinner that we had. Friendly staff. Can only be reached by taxi or car.
Having a car in the Bayreuth area and being able to park at the Best Western was the perfect solution. We also liked that the restaurant /bar was ready to serve at almost any time of the day. The breakfast was delicious and all the help was very polite.
We chose the hotel because it was conveniently located for the Bayreuth Opera Festival. The hotel laid on a coach to and from the Opera. The hotel restaurant was very good for a hotel chain and was open until midnight, making it easy to eat after the Opera. We asked for a double room with a double bed but only twin beds were available despite booking nearly 3 months ahead.
Prompt and efficient service. Friendly staff, Breakfast excellent. Linguistic abilities of staff made enquiries easy. Coach to the opera arranged. The hotel is too far from the centre of Bayreuth if you are attending the operas in the evening. A coach is laid on which is excellent but in the mornings you either have to make another expensive taxi journey to the centre or else spend the morning on an industrial estate. The hotel is great for travellers and if you have a car it can be easily parked and then there is no problem. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
The hotel was very pleasant. Buffet breakfast was very good. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful (and spoke very good English). The location. I was attending the Bayreuth Festival and I would have preferred to stay in central Bayreuth, but all the hotels there were full. The hotel, however, laid on a shuttle bus to the Festspielhaus.
Staff were friendly and helpful I sleep with blankets...not duvets
Clean room, bright. Noisy with window open due to proximity to autobahn Poor pillows! European style
Friendly atmosphere: good value food and drink
It is very nice hotel located in the beatiful place between and on mountains. Hotel staff completely does not speak and understand English so it should be a good idea to get some German speaking background before going there
The plus noted was that the location was so close to the Autobahn and therefore suited for just an overnight stay while on the road southbound. The nice beds contributed to a good night's rest! No!
Welcoming and friendly staff who were also very efficient. The hotel was confortable and met all our needs. We will certainly stay there again and have already recommended it to friends.
I can said only that was my second booking the hotel and I plan in November to book this hotel again
We found this an excellent centre for visiting the Bayreuth festival. Staff were very helpful. Food was very good.
very nice location
Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Wonderful beer garden patronized by the locals. A good sign! Very nice room. This is a family run hotel and everyone chips in. We so appreciated their kindness and patience with us.
Very good hotel in beautiful surroundings (forest). Very spacious hotelroom with a fantastic view. With all modern comfort, although somewhat dated but you could also call it typical German style. Had a good dinner and breakfast. Personnell speak English. Old tv, no sattelite.
Wonderfully dedicated staff
The hotel was cozy and comfortable. We spent many hours relaxing in the hotel's saunas, jacuzzi and inviting pool. The staff and guests were all pleasant to speak with. Everybody was very cordial and nice. The room was large and comfortable with a sunny terrace outside. The bathrooms were luxurious and spacious as well. We highly recommend this hotel to anybody. Our stay was absolutely relaxing.
good spa facility, spacious room, and good staff
hotel in lovely quiet setting overlooking rolling hills, the staff were very friendly and helpful, our bathroom light did not work and we reported it on going for dinner and on returning to our room later it had been fixed, the restaurant food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. would definately go back again.
The hotel owner, who is a family of couple with their son and daughter in law and two sons, are extremely friendly. We feel very comfortable staying in the hotel. Would like to stay there if there is any opportunity again .
Restaurant very good and reasonably priced well placed for autobahn network standard of accomodation good None
Very kind staff, good breakfest. Good and pleasure restaurant
Best breakfast we have had and ayyached dinner locations were excellent. Staff was most friendly. Internet connection was poor.
exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. delightful site at the top of a pretty village. nice garden with river. good food. altogether very nice indeed. Hope to visit again.
Really nice facilities, very nice staff, and assistance. Very friendly owner, and also very helpful.
Breakfirst was very good. We were placed on the 2. floor and noticed that no firestairs or firealarms was installed. It seems like we were placed on "the next door hotel" due to a big wedding on the main hotel.
Would benefit from additional sitting-room area for reading, etc.
Tremendously friendly and efficient family run hotel. They went out of their way to accomodate us during a death in the family in which we had to change some plans. Fantastic food!!! Poor wireless and telephone technology. Wireless was on the main floor only and highly inefficient as far as e-mail. Not all rooms had access to long distance international phone numbers.
first of all - the welcome. we found fruits in our room - the one and only place in germany(!) - and we stayed this time in 8 different hotels. and then - the room and the food. no
Lovely setting...peaceful and quiet Our room in the guest house was right above the outdoor eating deck; when folks were out there smoking, we had to close the window to keep out the smell.
It all but one thing (see next box) The beds were too soft and worst of all so noisy that we both woke up when the other moved in the bed
Very high standards of service and the quality of the food in the "fine dining" was also to a high standard.
The hotel was immaculately clean; the proprietress very accomodating. The hotel is right next to a fast running mountian stream and the sound of the water put us to sleep at night. The little town of Bad Berneck is quite charming and is only about 20 mins. drive outside of Bayreuth which was convenient for the Festspiele. Cash only which was inconvenient.
