Very nice atmosphere. Great breakfast. I enjoyed a nice massage too
A nice hotel in a nice town. I wish I had had more time to enjoy the area. I didn't use the spa this time, but I will if I ever get back to that area. The lack of air conditioning is a problem. Because of the heat, I had to open windows, which then meant that I had to listen to everything going on outside. That, and the heat, cost me a few hours of sleep. Despite that, I think it is a nice hotel, just not in the Summer.
Very clean and good quality accommodation. Nice pool, etc.
Quiet and convenient to town centre
breakfasts were very good; enjoyed the complimentary thermal baths they wanted to charge us the price of 8 euros per hour for Wi-Fi!
This hotel has excellent facilities and is situated in very attractive grounds. As I was in a wheel-chair I was glad to have ramps and a lift available for entering and leaving the building.
It was central location for the Wein Fest! The carpet in the room had some stains on the floor...but overall the room was very clean.
The location of the hotel is great. Encourages walking!
no air conditioning in the room. Very small pillow. I've found pretty unpolite the request to see the fridge to check it...after I've already payed the bill...
Clean, neat, tidy, friendly, in a beautiful building, in a very picturesque area.
Beautiful old building; great adjoining restaurant; right next to beautiful old monastery/church; helpful staff Parking was difficult, but once we were told about the free parking about two blocks from the hotel, it was fine
The lack of air conditioning or fans to circulate the hot air.
Quaint, comfortable, convenient. A treasure.
Staff very accommodating. We arrived late, but key was waiting. I asked for milk after stores were closed, and they promptly gave me a carton. Breakfast was very good. the hotel and decor were very charming. Noisy outside the hotel.
Our stay at Hotel Blaues Hau was wonderful. The hotel is in a great location right in the center of Otterberg. And Otterberg is a charming town. The hotel is quaint, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The buffet breakfast is fabulous. We also enjoyed the restaurant for dinner, and the food was delicious. The hotel staff was wonderful as well. We look forward to our next visit to Otterberg, and stay at Hotel Blaues Haus!!!
Fun little historic hotel Due to the Historic structure, the floor boards were extremely loud, but it wasn't a huge problem.
This historic hotel in a small quaint town allows one to feel that he is living in a past century. The rooms and common areas were especially clean and well appointed. The owners took great care and attended every detail. It was our first night in Germany and a experience that we will cherish forever. Please consider this hotel in your itinerary. The hotel is a little hard to locate- on a street just off the main road and parking is at a premium. These are minor difficulties that are so out-weighed by the ambiance of this place.
The staff were so gracious and accommodating for our larger family.
Great location and quaint hotel in a wonderfully quaint village. This was the perfect Germany get away.
It was quite, clean and within walking of dinning and shopping> The staff leaves at 10:00 pm but I did not need them.
Everything was fantastic. The hotel staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was great. I stayed for nearly a month, and the room was spacious enough to be comfortable for that extended length of time. The location is fabulous. In addition to being close to the pedestrian area, there are several restaurants within a couple of blocks.
the hotel was comfortable and warm and near our son who we went to visit
friendly staff, good breakfast and great acess to city center.
The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful
secured parking with a gate no view but great breakfast buffet
The hotel staff and the breakfast. There wasn't an alarm clock available. The front desk closed by 2130 and if I came back to the hotel after that I couldn't request a wake up call. It would have been nice to have an alarm clock available to set for myself.
I stayed at this hotel because it was the closest to the local hospital. My boyfriend and I had gone to Germany on holiday, when he got a case of pancreatitis and had to have his gall bladder removed. I chose this hotel because it was very central in Kaiserslautern, and only a 10 minute walk to the hospital. The staff were amazing. They all spoke English very well, and were very understanding when I had to extend my stay several days after my original departure time. Breakfast is included, which was great. The hotel is located downtown, within walking distance of several restaurants, a grocery store, and park where they had a carnival and other fun things on the weekend. If we ever went back to K-town, I would stay at this hotel again! They advertised free wi-fi, but it was only available in one of the buildings that make up this hotel. They did have a computer in the breakfast room that was free for guests to use though.
Location of hotel is excellent!! I would have liked a double bed since I booked a double room. Two people sleeping together on those twin beds are ridiculous. Had to sleep like brother and sister rather than husband and wife!
Great location in the middle of the Pfälzer Wald. Added thrill of watching hundreds of chickens. Good breakfast. Sharp corner on TV shelf directly above desk could do someone's head a worse injury than it did mine.
The price was reasonable. Beds were low and very bad for the back and very hard to get out of for older people.
Welcome to the hotel was friendly with english speaking receptionist which was helpful. Very pleasant hotel deep in the forest and a good stop off point for heading in all different directions across Europe. I enjoyed my stay
I didn't like becaouse adress was wong on the web site. And there is also near bar with the same name like hotel so the adress on the web site is form this bar, which is spooky if you come at night , becaouse is at the woods.
The staff was friendly, the room was very clean, the place was great for the price.
Great staff, great food, great room. I forsee us becoming regulars at the restaurant. Not really.
We chose this hotel, because our family lived a block away while I was stationed in the area with the Air Force two decades ago. We always loved going to the Schlaefer Gasthaus for dinner. Our trip down memory lane lived up to, and exceeded, our every expectation. The food is some of the best in Germany. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The accomodations and restaurant are in the traditional style, which is what we have always liked.
That it was clean and close to the train station and my destination. Staff was very helpful and it was very affordable and classy!
Close to beautiful city centre I stayed on the 1st floor and could hear automatic door opening in the basement.
Bed was comfortable and a good hotel. Free wifi in the hotel which reaches most rooms. Construction that some people mentioned earlier is complete so it was nice and quiet. First room I had I couldn't get WiFi even thou the router was outside my room, the staff switched and every thing was ok. Big annoyance for business people who rely on the internet is that you constantly have to re-log into the internet ;( Breakfast to expensive and small televisions in some rooms.
Staff very helpful and friendly the hotel was fine, but your definition of near the railway station is different to mine
room was wonderfull, view beautifull and the staff very helpfull. The breakfast room has the besy view of all.
It is a very comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Parking is onsite which is very convenient.
Very nice location in the center of an old style village which is filled with wine tasting houses and surrounded by vineyards. If you like wine you should definitely visit St. Martin. Chalet Raabe has stylish interior design and nice guest rooms. Breakfast was also very good. It was not possible to pay with Visa and hotel staff did not mention about this when we registered. At this price & comfort level Visa card really should be accepted.
High quality of accommodation and amenities, relaxed atmosphere, good food (also the inclusive breakfast). On arrival, the receptionist was not particularly helpful when it turned out that check-in time was 1 hour later than advised in the booking confirmation. The picture shown on the booking site is not from pension Dalberg, but from a nearby building (no problem, just odd).
Old, small, cosy and historical hotel. Modern rooms. Focus on wine, history, culture. We arrived on a "Ruhe Tag". The hotel seemed closed. The reception and restaurant area was a little bit too dark. Parking facilites were OK, but hard to find (narrow streets).
Very good location in the center of St. Martin. Staff were a bit on the cold side, which was unusual for this very friendly town. Do not accept Visa -- cash or local bank cards only.
Location and quaintness. Hotel staff were excellent n/a
Good and quiet location, just at the outside of the village. A good restaurant and a very good breakfast-buffet.
Good value for money
Nice small hotel on edge of town surrounded by woods. Good homely restaurant.
The hotel staff was very friendly. You could sit outside to eat dinner. Located right next to a castle that you could hike to. The watress recommended a great park, Kurpfalz-Park, it was great for young children.
The room was great especially the A/C which is not generally available in hotels in the area
restaurant staff and bathroom dated fixtures and fittings, poor breakfast and no help with luggage when leaving.
exellent atmosphere, charming, really nice cut room, outstanding kitchen, home feeling
The room was large and comfortable, and the staff were extremely helpful. For the money, the bathing facilities could use a facelift. They were adequate, but not comparable to other hotels in this price range.
A very comfortable atmosphere and excellent staff
Friendly welcome, pleasant walk to centre with an excellent buffet breakfast Would have expected air conditioning rather than a ceiling fan for this class of hotel.
Nice hotel with a charming location in the vineyards yet still close to the town center. Great staff and wonderful breakfast, all in all it is now my number 1 hotel in Deidesheim.
breakfast buffee and garden room, garden outlook, bicycles,
Great location with a very nice setting. Staff was helpful and professional. I felt the hotel was a little run down for a Steigenberger. The bottom mattress liner on my mattress was torn from the end of the frame and hanging down. There was wall paper peeling off in the bathroom. The room was clean and well made up but lacked a touch of care.
good situation (city and park) lobby poorly designated
Dreamy comfortable bed, excellent breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff, small yet quite functional bathroom, great value for a low price. Would definitely stay here again!
Staff and service were excellent. Clean, modern, and nicely decorated hotel. Breakfast was great. Highly recommended.
Wonderful experience. Octavia was a wonderful hostess. The room was a very good size for 3 people and very clean and comfortable.
Very nice place and very very nice people. Thanks you Octavia
Everything was good, nothing stood out in particular Nothing
The owners and there staff where just great and so freindly. The location was perfect for me and the rooms and the hotel where very clean.I will be staying at this hotel the next time i travel there and consider this a great find.
Very quiet location, excellent hotel, clean, new and great staff Nothing
The owners (Octavia and Herman) were just great. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms was very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. The homemade jam and jelly was terrific. They were sold out when I tried to stay an extra night :O)
Everything - seriously. Nothing
I loved the screens on the windows! No kidding, it is not often that you find this in Europe and bugs are becoming a real problem, so this is indeed a plus! The staff was amazingly helpful, kind and so welcoming. Location is wonderful as the hotel is off the main road, so rooms are quiet and peaceful. Restaurants are fairly close by, so no inconvenience there without one in the hotel. Room was spacious, immaculate, and tastefully decorated with convenience of the guest in mind. Internet access readily available! Just a wonderful place to stay. English is spoken though we were allowed to practice our German and appreciated her patience with that. Breakfast buffet is more than generous. We loved it and will be back!
The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was excellent.
The hotel was located in a convenient location in a small quaint village that gave you a true picture of a German village. There was a small supermarket just around the corner with a bakery attached. The rooms were very nice and seemed to be very clean each day. The only thing I can think of is that the breakfast was served at the same time that I needed to be picked up for work each day, so I only was able to enjoy it on the day that I left. Since many people staying there are usually military people moving into the area, it might be more helpful to make breakfast earlier so that all may enjoy it. (especially since it is included in the price)
Friendly staff, meals & particularly breakfast was excellent
I wanted to cancel my reservation because I was unfamiliar with the area when I made the reservation. I arrived very late and a young woman helped me find my room. Parking is a definite problem. I managed to scratch my car on the cement post. Because of late arrival I was unable to use the internet. The staff was off the next morning but the restaurant settled the bill. Room was very clean, warm, and TV worked well. No water glass or soap in bathroom.
Warm hospitality, very clean and comfortable, good, quiet location, fantastic breakfasts, wonderful staff. very small showers
Comfortable room. It was difficult to find reception. All outside doors were locked (we had to ring the bell) even at 7 pm. Restaurant was closed.
It was clean and affordable. It offered a good breakfast buffet at a reasonable price.
Good Price for full apartment. Good for long term stay
The staff were very very friendly and welcoming.
What a wonderful hotel and experience! The views are gorgeous and the rooms are extremely clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. Our daughter loved the real-live storks in the small, but lovely nature reserve (we did too). The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the staff the most enjoyable and helpful we have ever experienced. We would recommend to families and friends and they are dog-friendly! Hope to return before leaving Belgium. NONE!
Incredible friendly staff. Excellent rooms.
Rooms were spacious clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast excellent.
The breakfast was very good and they even packed me a to-go bag the last morning that I left at 4 am.....the bag was outside my door! Not enough towels......and none of the directions in the room were in English...only German
The staff was exceptionally friendly and accomodating. The location was central to the city. A wonderful experience.
It was very clean, simple and more than adequate fo rmy needs. The staff were extremely friendly and addressed issues very quickly. The rooms were spacious, clean, light, well decorated and furnished and the bathroom was superb. The heating/hot water loss on 2 occasions was unfortunate. However, the hotel dealt with this issue immediately and offered me a complimentary gift as an apology. The only added feature I would suggest is more towels and addition of face cloths (flannels)
Friendly staff and lovely breakfast Squeaky floorboards, just in one part ... very noisy! Loved all the rest though.
This is a family run hotel that rates high on service, warmth, and accommodation. Being that it was wintery, cold, with snow on the ground and everywhere, I liked that it was very centrally-located to numerous restaurants, bakeries, cafes, post office, and shops. I could walk to go get dinner after a long work day. I was also able to do some leisurely shopping and grab some italian ice cream. Breakfast was excellent and they opened it up early for the one day I had to get in to work by 6:30am. Internet (wired) was free and fast in my room and helped out with the homesickness. My room and closet were huge and spacious...more like a mini suite with a sitting area and work desk as well as refrigerator, microwave, sink, etc. My room did not have adequate room darkening curtains to block out the streetlight and moonlight. There simply wasn't enough of it to go across the entire width of the windows. Between this and the fact that I could clearly hear conversations of passersby on the street, I did get concerned about my own privacy. I think I will ask to change rooms next time...away from the street and not on the first floor. Also, no in-room safe.
Excellent, outstanding facility at a great price. Large, spacious rooms with plug and play free Internet service. Breakfast is a nice selection of breads, fruits, jams and other things and they are very accommodating should you need to eat earlier than the official start time of 7:00 a.m. As can be the case in many smaller hotels, there is no staff there much of the day, but aside from from, this is a terrific place to stay with a large, comfortable room which is atypical for Europe.
Attention of the owners- Chista and Michael, very good people.
Exceptional service- the staff was very friendly and helpful
This was a perfect place to stay for bicycling in the region. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the meals were very good, it was easy to get in and out, and the parking was good, too. The rooms at the front of the hotel are right on the main road, which at times was noisy.
Arrived late but still got welcomed & well fed, Comfotable & quiet room. Good breakfast - fo us it was the perfect overnight stay
value for money. good choice for breakfast, friendly owners who spoke very good English. Good location for our stopover, just off the motorway. We were the only guests in the hotel that night, so it was odd that we were given a room directly over the noisy bar/restaurant open for local customers, and the view was of a corrugated roof.
The managers were very welcoming and helpful. It is basic accommodation - but that is reflected in price so not a real problem.
Extemely friendly people in a really nice location.
Friendly, helpful staff/owners. Lovely location. Good food at reasonable prices. Could have done with air-conditioning during very hot weather, or at least a fan.
Good location and very clean with good working bathroom.
NJice, clean hotel perfectly located near the old part of town. We visited during their wine festival and stepped out the front door into the activities.
Everything! Excellent hotel, perfect location, clean, large rooms with great prices. N/A
The position and teh warmth in an unexpectedly cold snap. Reception staff at first very off hand
Central location for a fair price. Parking in the basement for a very reasonable price. Pleasant staff.
Very comfortable hotel, at the top end of 3 star. Good location, just outside the old town.
Reception staff were unhelpful with advice on car parking.
Nothing particular. The hotel was convenient and served its purpose of providing us with a bed for the two nights we stayed. Warm and comfortable. Good breakfast! I'm not sure we were given the superior room that we booked , but difficult to know without seing a standard room to compare, and frankly our room was perfectly acceptable and hardly expensive. Both my wife and I thought that it would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
The breakfast (buffet) well presented and good. Restaurant Service very friendly.
Accomodations were an excellent valueand the staff was very helpful in locating a good restaurant nearby. The location was near the marketplace, which was a bonus. Breakfast was quite good. Excellent shower! It would have been nice to have a fan since it was rather warm. The nearby outdoor theater and street traffic made it difficult to sleep until about 0300 when the traffic died down. For these reasons, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends during warm months.
