I was there for a tournament at the International School and the hotel was very close and convienent. It is next to a train station which was a little noisey. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, breakfast was fine. The rooms are a bit dated, beds were soft/mushy and flat pillows.
proximity to golf and waterloo area Being very close to the railway
It is very quite in spite of having the train station nearby. Free parking. We were treated very very well. Very clean. Having to pay 10 euros for using the hotels' WiFi (which off course I didn't) I thought as too much. The beds and pillow (1) are not very comfortable and the shower is not that good either.
As I was attending a birthday party in Hoeilaart it was conveniently located both to the station and the party venue Unfortunately, due to the fact that the hotel was next to the station, it was quiet noisy. Ear plugs were provided by the hotel
Nice, clean rooms. Good comfort. Excellent sanitary fittings. Quiet place, near Brussels
The service is nice and the breakfast is ok. At night it is quite and peace. It's very close to the railway, so it's a little noisy in the day.
Comfortable, basic hotel with a pleasant staff. I liked the flexible attitude of the staff. This hotel was the best value for money in the close area. The hotel is situated next to a train track with enough trafic to wake you up too early on the Sunday morning.
proximity to the station and good connectivity from the centre of Brussels. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
Nothing, so happy that it was only one day! Every week I stay 2 or 3 days in a hotel, I never write reviews but this hotel is so bad that I had to do it!! Worst hotel ever! Smells like catpiss, rooms are old, food is bad and staff is unfriendly.
room was clean; restaurant not open but staff prepared us a meal smelled very horsey as room was over a stable
Price compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was included. Hotel was deserted when I arrived at 7.30 in the evening. I decided to open the gates and looked around and found a note attached to a door explaining that the keys to room 1 were in the door. I assumed this was for me. The room had no tv and the smell of horses was very over powering. There was no-where to eat in the area so went to bed hungry.
Only positive point: nice horses! Nobody on desk when we arrived, everything was closed and we had to wait for 20 minutes before somebody came. The "room" was a kind of very small place with a bed and a shower in the same space. Restrooms were to share with other guests. We had not even soap or towel. No breakfast included. The train is noisy and you can even feel the vibrations. I hardly regretted not to have booked to the Etap Hotel of Wavres for a budget hotel.
Clean premises and a high standard of equipment - much of it new. A nice breakfast was included in the price. Our double-bedded room was tiny (about the size one would expect to find in a mobile home rather than a hotel)and it was quite a walk to the shared toilets at the far end of a corridor. The fact that the hotel forms part of an active equestrian centre needs to be clearly identified at the time of booking, if only to highlight the risk of an allergic reaction to the horses. There were two animals stabled directly beneath our room.
Helpful staff. Good food at reasonable price. Only 1 towel. No soap/shampoo.
The beer was cheap. Great if you're into horses otherwise I would recommend you find somewhere else. There was a strong horse smell from the stables. The floor was gritty, room right above horse stable with only a skylight for ventilation which you couldn't open for the noise. Planes flying over very frequently and also trains very close by. The walls were so thin I could hear people snoring in the next room as in they were in my room.
Easy going with lots going on. A bit lax about things.
very interesting to see all the horses good breakfast no en-suite facilities.only one toilet with a light working.shower was dirty'.only one set of towels in room. the hotel looked very new and quite a few exposed electric wires
room very basic, breakfast almost none existant. 3rd morning only small amount of stale bread available. no soap in toilets. no wardrobe to hang clothes,no on suite .would suggest fire regulations re escape routes dont comply with uk requiremaents
The hotel is co-located with a stable. I like horses and children, so it was ok for me. Sunday morning breakfast was a haphazard affair with small quantities of food and low level of service., which did not match the excellent service received during the rest of the stay.
Can walk across street to airport. Bar area was short staffed so see I e was dry slow, but to their credit, the bar manage really was concerned. Plus their computer system was down
Perfect. Just in front of the departure hall. The best place where to stay if you depart early in the morning.
40 steps to Brussels international airport
Can't beat the location if you need an early flight the next day.... This is ripoff pricing. First of all, the website says rooms from E139. But don't try to find a room at that price, E209 is what you pay. Without internet. Without Parking. Without breakfast. Even Tokyo and Paris are cheaper.
Convenient to airport - just walk across the street.
Perfect location, nice and well spoken staff. Wonderful mattrass
Position of electric outlets in rooms too far from bed
Excellent location I had a very badly soundproofed room (next to the lift). Outrageous for a room of that price.
Very convenient for catching early morning flight The hotel was under renovation - the only restaurant operating was very crowded and busy
It was conviently located for our needs. My wife and I needed to take a flight early the next morning and, while we aren't rich, we enjoyed our stay for the night. We were ready to take the flight. Leaving. It was sooooo good. It is unfortunate in this survey that there wasn't a choice "very good" because the item that we checked as good was very good, yet not excellent.
Extremely very well situated across from Brussels airport entrance. It's the prime dpot to spend the last night before you leave. The good is good. Good breakfast. It's on the more expensive side but the location is what makes this property so convenient. There is a good train connection at the airport to get to the center of Brussels Antwerp Gent of Oostende. Its of course well understandable to the expensive side. Breakfast $25. But it's location makes you accept.
Location is perfect. Walk to check in at airport. Restaurant costly and service in restaurant slow.
Very nice hotel. Great location; spacious and clean rooms. Friendly atmosphere. We had an extra bed for our son without additional charge. Very good value for money. Very good breakfast if you go early; view on the lake. Free parking. We want to visit this hotel again in the future. Some policies of the last decade: very high charge for internet, pay tv and cd listening!!...simply not worhty to use them.
Location On the first day the room service left the door of our room open all day after cleaning the room!!! Luckily nothing was taken. On the second day there was very loud music outside on our second night until 3am and then again in the morning from 9am. The hotel compensated by not charging us for the minibar. Also the lift is scary, old and slow, and only one for the whole hotel!!
Beautiful quiet location overlooking the lake; only 30 mins from the centre of Brussels; competent and charming staff; good restaurant.
fantastic place, beautifully located and very well run. I'll be back. And this is from a hotel owner.
Very good place on coutry side. Quite good breakfast. Hotel staff is friendly and helpfull.
very friendly staff, surroundings are beautiful no information during check in, example what time breakfast is served and where. We had dinner reservations for the first night (part of the package) but she forgot to tell us etc.
Quality and tranquillity of surroundings (a) The bar was unmanned for much of the time when it was supposed to be open. (b) Concerned that a room service meal for 4 people was delivered by a young man who had had to carry a large tray - very heavy and dangerously laden - up two floors and through long corridors to our rooms: impractical and risky. He should have had a trolley.
location near to the lake restaurant with lakeview but they put us in dark room on back side with no view , welness with 3x 5 m pool , small sauna and hammam, not worth a 5 star hotel , people should know
comfort in room and bathroom was great being in wheelchair the elevator solutions were not ideal
Everything was perfect.
The hotel is close to the airport & the shuttle service was good. The room was good. Arrangement with credit card was confusing - as I had pre-paid I had to come back to reception to register my CC to pay for restaurant. The service in the restaurant was very slow.
The roomservice menu is very poor, food in general is not of high quality. I had to drink my wine from a plastic glass!
Close to the ariport Room not clean (especially toilets and floor) - Very noisy : I could hear the other client calling his wife thru the wall, and all the noise coming from the corridor
The ease of transportation to and from the airport and the location.
comfort and proximity to airport
Efficient transfer to the airport Cleanliness, in particular the carpets in the rooms. In urgent need of change.
Close to airport
cleanness and hotels facilities (hotel shuttle on call during the night was very useful)
The location to Budget car rental and the airport. The internet charge was ridiculous, and the internet service unacceptable, possibly due to spyware used by the service. When you charge for internet access, it should not include breaches in privacy. This alone will cause me to never stay at this hotel or any other hotel in the chain again.
Very nice hotel, but pricy. asking 21 euros for a breakfast is exaggerating
Very large room, clean modern They are really a conference center and not quite ready for prime-time as a hotel. Not enough staff.
Very pleasant hotel with warmful staff. Located in the woods the hotel is very quite with very comfortable rooms, free large parking lot (external) and free internet access everywhere in the hotel. Sauna is nice, clean and has late opening. Restaurant is vast and food is good quality. To recommend.
location cleaning of rooms terrible slow (only at 17.00hours!)
Far from town. transport expensive.
The Gym equipment needs some maintenance...
the room was of beautiful design and had everything. Not sure about the glass doors on toilet and bathroom...not suitable for some couples. also very far away from city and no good for business trips to city
Very comfortable, stylish, clean and modern rooms This is the third time I have stayed there and every time I find it is impossible to get the room sufficiently warm
Very comfortable hotel, fantastic room! Clean, quiet, romantic, ... just what we needed to get away from the weekly rat race!
Beautfull escpae in the middle of the forest, but only 20 minutes from Bruxelles centre. The Spa was amazing!! Need to ask paper toilett, as this was not checked when daily cleaning was made. Paper toilett was well received but not put directly in the toilette but on the bed... not really romantic!
Access from motorway - very easy to find. Comfortable beds. Good value for money. Secure parking. Good breakfast. Minor point but would have liked extra pillows. If I had asked I am sure they would have provided these.
The proximity to Brussel National Airport and teh free Airport Drop and Pick ups are the most salient points of thsi Hotel. No
Great hotel close to the airport. 30-40 Euro taxi ride to town. Staff is great in the bar area. Nice service and food is well done. Carpets not the best of shape. Could be cleaned. Taxi service is a bit slow. If you need to be somewhere at a certain time, I would book the taxi the night before.
Close to airport especially if you have an early flight out of Brussels. Close to city centre too - station 5 minutes walk away. Time to city centre about 15 minutes. Taxi provided at hotel expense from airport to hotel during the day. Very efficient service. We left hotel at 5am. We had to take a taxi. Hotel pays for taxi after 6am.
Food was excellent; staff was efficient and courteous One complaint: I extended my stay by a day and a half while waiting on a flight. When I called to extend the stay, the reception did not tell me the rate would be changing from 99e to 150e. This is a big difference and took me by surprise when I checked out. Not sure why the rate increased during a weekday but nevertheless I was not informed. I did not like this.
Very close to the airport, free shuttle, clean, modern, nice restaurant and bar. Train station is near by . Hotel is located in the middle of business park.
Location and value Airport shuttle not 7/24
Facilities, staff, restaurant and overall upkeep all excellent and consistent with 4-star designation. Airport shuttle was active/available (contrary to older reviews). Good location for airport access. Gated parking was 15 E on-site and was very convenient. Air conditioning was poor and room remained rather warm (sign on thermostat noted that it was an eco-friendly system so this may not be considered a major issue by some), only 1 full size towel for double room posed an inconvenience. Location very good for airport access but otherwise nondescript.
The room was very nice and roomy, the bathroom was modern, large and well equipped The wake up call system did not work and we nearly missed our flight
The free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and back.
I called reception and waited for an unnecessarily long time before an irritated and unfriendly employee answered me. I asked for some utensils and he said "didn't room service give you this?" And I responded "This is not room service related", as I wanted utensils to eat with take away food. His irritation came through his voice while he said "fine." He hung up on me before I could say thank you. After this short but unfriendly exchange with reception, I never got my utensils! I never called back to followup . It wasn't worth the hassle and especially the rudeness. I improvised by using their wooden coffee stick as utensils instead. It wasn't easy to use but did the job with the scooping motion. I've never experienced such distasteful rudeness from hotel staff before until now. It really put a sour ending to my visit to Brussels. It only takes one uncalled for encounter to leave a bad immpression. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this hotel. And forewarning for anyone asking for utensils; good luck with that!
A beautiful, comfortable, well staffed hotel. It was perfect for my 13 hour layover at Brussels Airport. Twenty One Euro for breakfast is outrageous. I ate about two eggs, two slices of bacon, a slice of toast and coffee. I can not eat Twenty One Euro of breakfast. It would have been nice if the restaurant was open for breakfast.
Perfect location if you have a meeting in one of the offices next door. Very high prices for a normal/regular hotel.
Good location, very close to Waterloo office park. Comport beds and good breakfast. Hotel staff is not too helpful. During booking i have mentioned that i prefer room NOT on the ground floor (i have book a room in one month in advance), but receive room on ground floor. Answer was: we have't spare room on the first floor. Aircondition is on the room but too noisy. During checkout hotel try to charge me for more high rate. If you are required to stay in Waterloo area and you have car, then better to stay in Château Du Lac hotel in Genval. Same hotel chain but better value for money.
We stayed at this hotel on the way to BRU airport. This is a business hotel with large and confortable rooms. Breakfast buffet is good. hairs on the bad sheet and pillow. Old carpets at the corridors
Price (through Booking.com got EUR 80 for double and was upgraded to triple breakfast incl. for the same money), breakfast was great, location was convenient when with a car. Hotel is aging, rooms/halls definitely need some refurbishing (especially bathrooms)...
The hotel and restaurant have a beautiful design. The room was big and still cosy. The food in the restaurant was delicious !
Large, quiet room with good facilities. Close to ring road with good access to motorways south of Brussels. Difficult to find hotel - in former sugar factory! Evening meal was not good value, with 20-30 min waits between courses and small portions. Breakfast - hot food was cold, but there was a good range of foods.
very good breakfast and excellent service and a very pleasant location. the reception had an inforamtion I will stay 2 nights but in the reality I have booked only for 1 night. After a short explication, the check-in has been adjusted accordingly.
The comfort and atmosphere of the hotel is good During breakfast he supply of bread/bacon/salmon was absent or slowly.
The restaurant was outstanding - excellent food, imaginative menu and (for the standard) not too expensive It would be nice to be able to get Internet access from the room rather than having to go back down to Reception to get the log in details
Excellent convenience to the airport; clean, modern, well-appointed rooms; very close to the train station too; great facilities and helpful staff. The restaurant is of decent quality, but (not surprisingly) overpriced.
the food (breakfast and lunch) is very poor but very expensive. breakfast
Room appointed nicely and comfortable for overnight stay. Check in efficient and pleasant. Was not aware to ask for a 'first floor' room. They did not have an available and although many rooms are on the first floor, our room was accessbile only by stairs. We were 2 mature couples who had stayed in Europe for family event and touring, so one of our pieces was especially awkward.
Free airport shuttle service, proximity to airport was good but not so close that plane noise is a problem. Staff helpful and room a good size and nicely set up.
Very nice and helpful staff in reception, good location for those who are travelling around the country, just off the motorway The double bed was too small for two persons
perfect room and bad jaquzzi, outdoor swimming pool are broken ,no breakfast .No free wi-fi in a room
The room was extremely clean and comfortable.
the room service was fabulous
nice hotel, good facilities, near the airport, staff is very nice and helping
The desk clerks were very helpful. The rooms were great, and the layout of the hotel was great. No
location, big room, nice design
I chose this hotel for two reasons: 1- the location is so close from the airport and you don't have to pass through the traffic jam to Zaventem. So, i recommend it if you have an early morning flight. 2. Swimming pool, which was closed as most of the hotels do now adays. The reception was a disaster, that everybody did a check in had to fight with the receptionist, who was appearantly not satisfied with her work. My check in passed quietly (except paying the city tax which was for the first time not includedin the price)but after a while she called me from the reception an said some info were missing from my credit card, then she said you have to pay the city tax!! Told her i already did with your collegue. She said NOO you didn't pay! Told her call ur collegue. She called him, spoke in dutch, then said he did not tell me( without saying SORRY). Every body who was working there, whether in the restaurant, reception or out side, was absolutly not friendly and angry. Do not recommend it and will never be there. The receptionist The money value Swimming pool closed. Hammam closed ( why it's a resorts then?!)
Excellent accommodations and location
Excellent clean spacious rooms & breakfast. Beautiful nearby lake for a pre-breakfast jog/walk to build up appetite
This was a great place to relax - I was at a busy event at a large local htel and it was just great to get some space!!!
wonderful breakfast and hospitality fire escape should be paid attention
Anne-Marie and her staff were very friendly and helpful. The house is in a quiet location a few minutes walk from the lake.
Comfortable rooms (although the bathroom is a little basic), plenty of space including a separate sitting-room, friendly atmosphere and staff, excellent value for money.
the charming location, the lodge and the staff
A very nice location and the kindness of the staff
Aesthetically, the common spaces were lovely. The food and beer were reasonably priced at the restaurant, and the minibar prices were fair. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. To use the spa you have to pay an additional 13 Euro per person.
The building its self was neat. Everything else to horrible! Yes, hidden fee's lack of communication from staff.
The service the people
Enjoyed the spacious club room and nicely remodeled bathroom. Very convenient to tourist sights. The mattresses are too firm.
The rooms are of a good size The reception area need sot be manned by more than 1 person at busy times. This was very poor and checking out took over 30mins.
Comfy.Gent on reception on returning my passport noticed it was my birthday and wihed me a happy one.Unfortunately no champagne !!!!! Impersonal, very expensive if not booked on net. Glad only stayed 2 nights before moving onto my regular and cheaper and nicer hotel nearby!!!!
The quiet atmosphere and friendly desk clerk. They were not prepared to have guests over the Easter Weekend. The breakfast was not very good, the room lacked a fan and the hot pot was in need of cleaning. The hotel needs to consider putting something in the tub to prevent slipping when showering.
I felt well, being alone in my room did not make me feel alone in the huge world like in some hotels.
rooms need renovation, air condition is too noisy, breakfast is good,
double room in the hotel was very small, with extra bed for our son it was not possible to move i nthe room. The rooms and the furniture i nthe hotel are very old, worn out. It is not 4* hotel which you expect when paying 175 Euro per night. I will never stay in this hotel again. Major renovation is required, prices are too high, should be below 100 Euro even after renovation.
Room was nice; staff was super helpful & polite
Free WiFi It is rather dated and in need of a re-fit
First of all the hotel is lovely with the old style red brick walls from the old factory, the staff is very friendly and we go a great deal for a superior room. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel but we asked at the front desk to order a taxi to bring us to "Le Bivouc de l'Empereur" the taxi company charged us €20 and on the way back we asked the restaurant to order a taxi and the charge was €12 only (choice of partner).
Very clean and modern rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff.
I would love tea making facilities in the room
good variety at breakfast, very comfortable beds and a clean room. expensive for the film selection
The hotel and staff were excellent Cooked breakfast was not quite hot enough most times
Great room, good breakfast, good staff, free parking.
Modern facilities and value for money No
excellent value for money, great breakfast
Very pleasent hotel.
The room provided all that was necessary to make our stay comfortable. ( Tissues + a magnifying mirror in the bathroom would make it even better) Breakfast was excellent. The location was quiet and restful.
Bedroom was very comfortable, particularly the pillows and very spacious. Nice bathroom and powerful shower - great toiletries
The Manoir is Chateau Du Lac's small scale sibling. Driving up the Manoir is found charmingly tucked away in lavish greenery, just off the lakeside. When not in use for weddings and the like, the Manoir spells charm and quiet all over. Breakfast was served next door at the Chateau Du Lac.
Nice room. Big enough. Calm. Bathroom could have been more modern. Rather limited breakfast buffet.
Cosy, excellent situation, customised service
