The staff were very helpful, the food was nice, the beds were comfy we can't really fault the hotel.
Close to the airport. Free wi-fi internet. Not very easy to find, due to the works.
distance to office, avoiding traffic, coveneient location rooms are like cellblocks, very basic and furniture was stained and dirty, no glasses, no tissues etc.
The food was fantastic and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Close to the airport for an early morning flight. Two issues: i) the hotel advertises a restaurant that is not open on a Friday evening; ii) directions to the hotel on their own website are useless as there are major roadworks in the area. As the roadworks have clearly been there for some time, directions on their own website should relect this.
Location to my purpoase
location was good need a light blanket on the bed
Traffic diversion for roadworks was unclear to non-Flemish visitor
pleasant surprise. Desk clerk very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and tidy. Fantastic restaurant with chef. Would definitely stay here again. distance from airport. Was a 23.4 E taxi fare one way, but was cheapest hotel within 10 miles. We were just spending the night before catching flight out in the morning so didn't want to pay the 250E the Sheraton at the Brussels airport wanted for one night.
Quiet location Had some difficulty finding the motel
Easy going with lots going on. A bit lax about things.
The beer was cheap. Great if you're into horses otherwise I would recommend you find somewhere else. There was a strong horse smell from the stables. The floor was gritty, room right above horse stable with only a skylight for ventilation which you couldn't open for the noise. Planes flying over very frequently and also trains very close by. The walls were so thin I could hear people snoring in the next room as in they were in my room.
Clean premises and a high standard of equipment - much of it new. A nice breakfast was included in the price. Our double-bedded room was tiny (about the size one would expect to find in a mobile home rather than a hotel)and it was quite a walk to the shared toilets at the far end of a corridor. The fact that the hotel forms part of an active equestrian centre needs to be clearly identified at the time of booking, if only to highlight the risk of an allergic reaction to the horses. There were two animals stabled directly beneath our room.
Only positive point: nice horses! Nobody on desk when we arrived, everything was closed and we had to wait for 20 minutes before somebody came. The "room" was a kind of very small place with a bed and a shower in the same space. Restrooms were to share with other guests. We had not even soap or towel. No breakfast included. The train is noisy and you can even feel the vibrations. I hardly regretted not to have booked to the Etap Hotel of Wavres for a budget hotel.
The hotel is co-located with a stable. I like horses and children, so it was ok for me. Sunday morning breakfast was a haphazard affair with small quantities of food and low level of service., which did not match the excellent service received during the rest of the stay.
Helpful staff. Good food at reasonable price. Only 1 towel. No soap/shampoo.
very interesting to see all the horses good breakfast no en-suite facilities.only one toilet with a light working.shower was dirty'.only one set of towels in room. the hotel looked very new and quite a few exposed electric wires
room very basic, breakfast almost none existant. 3rd morning only small amount of stale bread available. no soap in toilets. no wardrobe to hang clothes,no on suite .would suggest fire regulations re escape routes dont comply with uk requiremaents
room was clean; restaurant not open but staff prepared us a meal smelled very horsey as room was over a stable
Price compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was included. Hotel was deserted when I arrived at 7.30 in the evening. I decided to open the gates and looked around and found a note attached to a door explaining that the keys to room 1 were in the door. I assumed this was for me. The room had no tv and the smell of horses was very over powering. There was no-where to eat in the area so went to bed hungry.
the restaurant was less bad than the rest of the hotel and the staff were pleasant in the face of overwhelming negative odds. This is the perfect venue for the next sequel of Hostel. The public areas are dungeon themed. The bedrooms are freezing cold and designed to be hosed down - plastic coated walls, plastic laminate floors, bizarre plastic doors. The location is remote yet extraordinarily noisy.
We like that the rooms are spacious and quiet in spite of being close to the motorway. We use thiis hotel because it is very near to where we used to live and is convenient for us. The facilities are basic but all that we have needed. We find the staff helpful and parking is not a problem.
easy location and very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking. Always a nice breakfast. sometimes the parking is full in the evening however there is more parking a bit further away
Good stuff I booked a room with double bed, but two single beds put togeather are not the same
friendly staff beds
Very helpful staff No drinks facilities in room
Very quiet hotel, friendly staff. no
large room room was a bit sparce
out of the way, but very nice hotel. staff very friendly. nice bar and returant. very good value for money and 5 mins from brussels no shower, no coffee in room
This hotel was adjacent to both the battlefiled...15 minute drive away and the railway station (5 mins by car) with a direct train to Brussels every hour..last one back well after midnight...saved having to drive/stay in the middle of Brussels. Excellent staff and typical Ibis accomodation...never bad, never excellent...always good...staff very knowledgable and helpful. Nothing
easy access to the places and sites we wanted to visit
The price was fair fair.
after we complained about our room we got a much better room Room: sink was blocked of shower and washbasin. The floor was dirty and it was extremely warm. But worst there was a light outside fixed just above our window. It switched on everytime somebody or something passed the parking. So the whole night the room was in bright light on and of. There were no proper curtains.
Friendy reception staff made you feel very welcome The staff in the attached restaurant changed from being helpful and friendly to rude and unwelcoming when they found out we had booked our evening meal as a package.
clean rooms, convinient location.. room was a little small,(triple room we got was nice, but we didn't get it for the second stay.) not all the stuff was friendly.
easy to reach Bruxelles they don't accept the 500 euros banknotes the so called "bar" was poor
nothing too expensive for what you get. uncomfortable rooms.
Hotel was clean, modern and easy to find. Staff helpful. Breakfast could have been better, car park smelt of sewage
Walking distance to RER, easy way to get into Paris to see the sights. Secure parking for hotel guests only at reasonable daily rate. Staff was very nice. Hotel is very basic. Used flip flops for walking around - not the cleanest place we stayed during our trip.
I was there for a tournament at the International School and the hotel was very close and convienent. It is next to a train station which was a little noisey. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, breakfast was fine. The rooms are a bit dated, beds were soft/mushy and flat pillows.
It is very quite in spite of having the train station nearby. Free parking. We were treated very very well. Very clean. Having to pay 10 euros for using the hotels' WiFi (which off course I didn't) I thought as too much. The beds and pillow (1) are not very comfortable and the shower is not that good either.
Nothing, so happy that it was only one day! Every week I stay 2 or 3 days in a hotel, I never write reviews but this hotel is so bad that I had to do it!! Worst hotel ever! Smells like catpiss, rooms are old, food is bad and staff is unfriendly.
proximity to the station and good connectivity from the centre of Brussels. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
Nice, clean rooms. Good comfort. Excellent sanitary fittings. Quiet place, near Brussels
proximity to golf and waterloo area Being very close to the railway
Comfortable, basic hotel with a pleasant staff. I liked the flexible attitude of the staff. This hotel was the best value for money in the close area. The hotel is situated next to a train track with enough trafic to wake you up too early on the Sunday morning.
As I was attending a birthday party in Hoeilaart it was conveniently located both to the station and the party venue Unfortunately, due to the fact that the hotel was next to the station, it was quiet noisy. Ear plugs were provided by the hotel
The service is nice and the breakfast is ok. At night it is quite and peace. It's very close to the railway, so it's a little noisy in the day.
excellent value for money, great breakfast
Modern facilities and value for money No
First of all the hotel is lovely with the old style red brick walls from the old factory, the staff is very friendly and we go a great deal for a superior room. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel but we asked at the front desk to order a taxi to bring us to "Le Bivouc de l'Empereur" the taxi company charged us €20 and on the way back we asked the restaurant to order a taxi and the charge was €12 only (choice of partner).
The room provided all that was necessary to make our stay comfortable. ( Tissues + a magnifying mirror in the bathroom would make it even better) Breakfast was excellent. The location was quiet and restful.
Great room, good breakfast, good staff, free parking.
Very clean and modern rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff.
The hotel and staff were excellent Cooked breakfast was not quite hot enough most times
good variety at breakfast, very comfortable beds and a clean room. expensive for the film selection
Very pleasent hotel.
I would love tea making facilities in the room
The price is law, the staff is flexible and nice.
Very loud, for rooms towards the street!
only ice cold water in the shower
Inconvenice. Booked a family room but was given a double on arrival and had to wait for extra bed to be added (the family room guests before us wanted to stay further and the owner couldn't refuse). After some struggling the owner offered us additional double room without extra charge (perhaps realising it was impossible to add bed and still leave us some standing space). Noise from Road traffic.
1. price, 2. breakfast, 3. location the separate building, where I was accomanded
excellent stay.great staff. good food. will return. not the easiest place to find without sat nav but well worth a visit.
Extremely friendly, helpful and flexible staff. Breakfast at any time, change of room no problem. No.
The owner Renovation urgently needed, really cheap furniture, internet access limited to specific areas
I found the staff very pleasent and attentive, the food was great, and the hotel was peacefull and not far off the beaton track.
in the nature the rom was smoking
Efficient transfer to the airport Cleanliness, in particular the carpets in the rooms. In urgent need of change.
Close to the ariport Room not clean (especially toilets and floor) - Very noisy : I could hear the other client calling his wife thru the wall, and all the noise coming from the corridor
cleanness and hotels facilities (hotel shuttle on call during the night was very useful)
The ease of transportation to and from the airport and the location.
The hotel is close to the airport & the shuttle service was good. The room was good. Arrangement with credit card was confusing - as I had pre-paid I had to come back to reception to register my CC to pay for restaurant. The service in the restaurant was very slow.
comfort and proximity to airport
The roomservice menu is very poor, food in general is not of high quality. I had to drink my wine from a plastic glass!
Close to airport
The location to Budget car rental and the airport. The internet charge was ridiculous, and the internet service unacceptable, possibly due to spyware used by the service. When you charge for internet access, it should not include breaches in privacy. This alone will cause me to never stay at this hotel or any other hotel in the chain again.
Everything was perfect.
I didnt like the smell of smoke in no smoking room.
The hotel was clean enough and comfortable, however the location is further than its peers from the train and bus lines, if you wish to travel into Brussels. Stay at the NH or Holiday Inn to be closer to public transportation. The receptionist gave us the WRONG departure times for the morning airport shuttles (which departed every 50 minutes!), forcing us to miss our intended shuttle, pay 20Euro for a taxi, and making us late for our flight. The staff is clueless and unhelpful.
The location we needed close to the airport was good. The room was small since we had a baby bed in the room.
Breakfast The room was too warm.
Meilleure pour prix
Good shuttle service to airport and price Room is incredibly small
close to business office first night very noisy (water pipes), limited menu in the restaurant
The airport shuttle's early in the morning (from 05:00 onwards) near my bedroom window with there engines running; noisy and a penetrating smell of engine gasses.
convenient location breakfast
quite close to the airport (about 12€ taxi) very small rooms but still ok for one night... wouldn't stay longer
Very convenient from Airport. Easy acc to center and business around the airport. Some how there was a lot of noise. If a family stay next door, it could be... , but there are a lot of business people, I guess.
Location near the airport. (a) the price of food and drinks. Better bring your own. (b) The Ibis should post its phone number at the Airport Bus Stop, and encourage customers to call Ibis upon arrival. The Airport Bus serving the Ibis serves 3 other neighboring hotels.. When I arrived, I ended up waiting around for an hour for nothing. But once I called, it worked well. The airport information desk on the Arrivals floor will place the call for you for free. I recommend you call before you go outside to wait for the bus.
The building its self was neat. Everything else to horrible! Yes, hidden fee's lack of communication from staff.
Aesthetically, the common spaces were lovely. The food and beer were reasonably priced at the restaurant, and the minibar prices were fair. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. To use the spa you have to pay an additional 13 Euro per person.
The room was very nice and roomy, the bathroom was modern, large and well equipped The wake up call system did not work and we nearly missed our flight
A beautiful, comfortable, well staffed hotel. It was perfect for my 13 hour layover at Brussels Airport. Twenty One Euro for breakfast is outrageous. I ate about two eggs, two slices of bacon, a slice of toast and coffee. I can not eat Twenty One Euro of breakfast. It would have been nice if the restaurant was open for breakfast.
Close to airport especially if you have an early flight out of Brussels. Close to city centre too - station 5 minutes walk away. Time to city centre about 15 minutes. Taxi provided at hotel expense from airport to hotel during the day. Very efficient service. We left hotel at 5am. We had to take a taxi. Hotel pays for taxi after 6am.
Access from motorway - very easy to find. Comfortable beds. Good value for money. Secure parking. Good breakfast. Minor point but would have liked extra pillows. If I had asked I am sure they would have provided these.
Location and value Airport shuttle not 7/24
Very close to the airport, free shuttle, clean, modern, nice restaurant and bar. Train station is near by . Hotel is located in the middle of business park.
I called reception and waited for an unnecessarily long time before an irritated and unfriendly employee answered me. I asked for some utensils and he said "didn't room service give you this?" And I responded "This is not room service related", as I wanted utensils to eat with take away food. His irritation came through his voice while he said "fine." He hung up on me before I could say thank you. After this short but unfriendly exchange with reception, I never got my utensils! I never called back to followup . It wasn't worth the hassle and especially the rudeness. I improvised by using their wooden coffee stick as utensils instead. It wasn't easy to use but did the job with the scooping motion. I've never experienced such distasteful rudeness from hotel staff before until now. It really put a sour ending to my visit to Brussels. It only takes one uncalled for encounter to leave a bad immpression. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this hotel. And forewarning for anyone asking for utensils; good luck with that!
The free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and back.
Facilities, staff, restaurant and overall upkeep all excellent and consistent with 4-star designation. Airport shuttle was active/available (contrary to older reviews). Good location for airport access. Gated parking was 15 E on-site and was very convenient. Air conditioning was poor and room remained rather warm (sign on thermostat noted that it was an eco-friendly system so this may not be considered a major issue by some), only 1 full size towel for double room posed an inconvenience. Location very good for airport access but otherwise nondescript.
The proximity to Brussel National Airport and teh free Airport Drop and Pick ups are the most salient points of thsi Hotel. No
Food was excellent; staff was efficient and courteous One complaint: I extended my stay by a day and a half while waiting on a flight. When I called to extend the stay, the reception did not tell me the rate would be changing from 99e to 150e. This is a big difference and took me by surprise when I checked out. Not sure why the rate increased during a weekday but nevertheless I was not informed. I did not like this.
Great hotel close to the airport. 30-40 Euro taxi ride to town. Staff is great in the bar area. Nice service and food is well done. Carpets not the best of shape. Could be cleaned. Taxi service is a bit slow. If you need to be somewhere at a certain time, I would book the taxi the night before.
Very friendly and helpful staff, adequate room, very nice restaurant with excellent food high room cost, the cab to and from the airport was 44 Euros, also expensive
Not much No coffee service in room. Could not stand up in shower (roof too low), bath too small. Did not present hotel's facilities etc (where is restaurant, code to get out of gate with vehicle. Asked me to leave at 10am while it says bookout is only at 12:00. Only one person speaks english. Reception was a mess. Breakfast was very limited.
Comfortable/Location Small bed
The food from the restaurant was very good. I stayed in the 2 second floor, where all rooms have a descending ceiling, so it was impossible to keep the standing position while in the bathroom! It was uncomfortable to sit at the toilet because of that. Also, the rooms are not sound proof and the corridor was very noisy when people walking and all doors where very heavy and closed with a big bang! Also, for €100 (including breakfast) I was expecting at least a good room with a ceiling that would allow me walk around the room!
Restaurant offers good food Very small room for high price
The hotel was OK although still overpriced which is normal for Brussesl. . Room was clean and comfortable. The road noise was high but that didn't bother me. My shower had a leak and even though I told the girl on reception it was not fixed. They have a pizza restaurant onsite but for a basic pizza it was 13 euros. Also the female host had the charm of a cow eating grass and clearly was not there to make you feel welcome. When I sais I did not want anything to drink the look she gave me would have frozen water!Wireless internet costs 5 euros for 60 minutes which is stupid.
The food is excellent and compares with the best restaurants in the area. I had a room on the front of the hotel and the traffic noise starts at about 05:30 in the morning and is quite loud.
Great service, clean room, & very helpful staff! A little noisy from vehicle noise at night and early morning commuters.
Location is perfect. Walk to check in at airport. Restaurant costly and service in restaurant slow.
40 steps to Brussels international airport
Convenient location to airport and excellent facilities for the price.
Excellent location I had a very badly soundproofed room (next to the lift). Outrageous for a room of that price.
Convenient to airport - just walk across the street.
Can't beat the location if you need an early flight the next day.... This is ripoff pricing. First of all, the website says rooms from E139. But don't try to find a room at that price, E209 is what you pay. Without internet. Without Parking. Without breakfast. Even Tokyo and Paris are cheaper.
Extremely very well situated across from Brussels airport entrance. It's the prime dpot to spend the last night before you leave. The good is good. Good breakfast. It's on the more expensive side but the location is what makes this property so convenient. There is a good train connection at the airport to get to the center of Brussels Antwerp Gent of Oostende. Its of course well understandable to the expensive side. Breakfast $25. But it's location makes you accept.
Can walk across street to airport. Bar area was short staffed so see I e was dry slow, but to their credit, the bar manage really was concerned. Plus their computer system was down
Perfect. Just in front of the departure hall. The best place where to stay if you depart early in the morning.
It was conviently located for our needs. My wife and I needed to take a flight early the next morning and, while we aren't rich, we enjoyed our stay for the night. We were ready to take the flight. Leaving. It was sooooo good. It is unfortunate in this survey that there wasn't a choice "very good" because the item that we checked as good was very good, yet not excellent.
Very convenient for catching early morning flight The hotel was under renovation - the only restaurant operating was very crowded and busy
Position of electric outlets in rooms too far from bed
The room was extremely clean and comfortable.
Very nice and helpful staff in reception, good location for those who are travelling around the country, just off the motorway The double bed was too small for two persons
the food (breakfast and lunch) is very poor but very expensive. breakfast
The desk clerks were very helpful. The rooms were great, and the layout of the hotel was great. No
clean well equipped room.
nice hotel, good facilities, near the airport, staff is very nice and helping
perfect room and bad jaquzzi, outdoor swimming pool are broken ,no breakfast .No free wi-fi in a room
location, big room, nice design
the room service was fabulous
Free airport shuttle service, proximity to airport was good but not so close that plane noise is a problem. Staff helpful and room a good size and nicely set up.
Ann and Guy are marvelous hosts. The home is charming as the title and the distance to he airport very convenient. They picked and dropped me off at the airport at the airport. Very personal service. The breakfast was wonderful and the room much more than one would expect for a B&B. I will stay there again.
The restaurant was outstanding - excellent food, imaginative menu and (for the standard) not too expensive It would be nice to be able to get Internet access from the room rather than having to go back down to Reception to get the log in details
Perfect location if you have a meeting in one of the offices next door. Very high prices for a normal/regular hotel.
Good location, very close to Waterloo office park. Comport beds and good breakfast. Hotel staff is not too helpful. During booking i have mentioned that i prefer room NOT on the ground floor (i have book a room in one month in advance), but receive room on ground floor. Answer was: we have't spare room on the first floor. Aircondition is on the room but too noisy. During checkout hotel try to charge me for more high rate. If you are required to stay in Waterloo area and you have car, then better to stay in Château Du Lac hotel in Genval. Same hotel chain but better value for money.
very good breakfast and excellent service and a very pleasant location. the reception had an inforamtion I will stay 2 nights but in the reality I have booked only for 1 night. After a short explication, the check-in has been adjusted accordingly.
The comfort and atmosphere of the hotel is good During breakfast he supply of bread/bacon/salmon was absent or slowly.
Large, quiet room with good facilities. Close to ring road with good access to motorways south of Brussels. Difficult to find hotel - in former sugar factory! Evening meal was not good value, with 20-30 min waits between courses and small portions. Breakfast - hot food was cold, but there was a good range of foods.
The hotel and restaurant have a beautiful design. The room was big and still cosy. The food in the restaurant was delicious !
We stayed at this hotel on the way to BRU airport. This is a business hotel with large and confortable rooms. Breakfast buffet is good. hairs on the bad sheet and pillow. Old carpets at the corridors
Price (through Booking.com got EUR 80 for double and was upgraded to triple breakfast incl. for the same money), breakfast was great, location was convenient when with a car. Hotel is aging, rooms/halls definitely need some refurbishing (especially bathrooms)...
Well located close to the motorway. Room not that well-isolated. Lack of choice during breakfast.
good breakfast, pleasant staff, very clean rooms, wifi in rooms now. non come to mind
Right next to Napoleon's piramid and the Waterloo battle fields. The floor in the room was pretty much stained and so was the head board of the bed. All in all it did not make me feel the room was that clean.
Good breakfast, nice bathroom, comfortable mattress awful noice from a street, too dark room, no price list for mini bar and some drinks are out of expiry dates
No warm water. Room interior full of stains, was warm (in February). Slept on top of the sheets.
Wonderful location, quiet atmosphere, great rooms, great commemoration of the Battle of Waterloo I will return soon.
Nice breakfast, I loved the bread! I did not like the noise of the road and the lights outside as there were paintingworks ongoing
nice room noisy, next to road
Friendly staff Restaulant was under constraction. Brakfast was little bit poor.
Easy to find! Lack of plugs (for my laptop) in the room. Had to use the TV socket and therefore couldn't watch TV as I worked - which was probably better for my concentration anyway.
Free WiFi It is rather dated and in need of a re-fit
Comfy.Gent on reception on returning my passport noticed it was my birthday and wihed me a happy one.Unfortunately no champagne !!!!! Impersonal, very expensive if not booked on net. Glad only stayed 2 nights before moving onto my regular and cheaper and nicer hotel nearby!!!!
The rooms are of a good size The reception area need sot be manned by more than 1 person at busy times. This was very poor and checking out took over 30mins.
double room in the hotel was very small, with extra bed for our son it was not possible to move i nthe room. The rooms and the furniture i nthe hotel are very old, worn out. It is not 4* hotel which you expect when paying 175 Euro per night. I will never stay in this hotel again. Major renovation is required, prices are too high, should be below 100 Euro even after renovation.
The quiet atmosphere and friendly desk clerk. They were not prepared to have guests over the Easter Weekend. The breakfast was not very good, the room lacked a fan and the hot pot was in need of cleaning. The hotel needs to consider putting something in the tub to prevent slipping when showering.
rooms need renovation, air condition is too noisy, breakfast is good,
Room was nice; staff was super helpful & polite
Enjoyed the spacious club room and nicely remodeled bathroom. Very convenient to tourist sights. The mattresses are too firm.
The service the people
I felt well, being alone in my room did not make me feel alone in the huge world like in some hotels.
