One evening after dinner, we found our room door wide open. No one could seem to tell me whether Kayak had charged my room or whether the hotel would charge my card. On checkout day, when we returned to the room to get our luggage after breakfast, the rom keys were already deactivated. We phoned for someone to come but no one did so I had to go to the lobby to get a new key. On the way to the lobby I asked the porters to send a golf cart to get our luggage and to get our car but this took a long time.
Very relaxing and trusting owners. Food in the restaurant excellent none
One of the best Guesthouses we have ever stayed in South Africa. We visit SA twice a year since 15 years and this was just perfect! Modern and big rooms with many little details, extremely clean, nice garden. Very moderate rates (in Cape Town it would be double the price for a similar type of accom). Owners and staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A big "Thank you" to everyone at the Cinnamon. We'll be back!
Large rooms, owners very accomodating, food delicious in restaurant.
This hotel ticks all the boxes and was well above all our expectations for a 5* boutique hotel All other guests were of the same opinion. Excellent restaurant, great ambiance,décor and superb hosts.
Fantastic Simply Fantastic! Gourmet Food, Excellent Accomodation, Best we've ever stayed at. Highly Recomend
Website does not do justice to this luxury guesthouse, way beyond our expectations, by far the best place we stayed in South Africa. Next time we will request a sea view room. Restaurants were not walking distance in our opinion and no taxis; although Albert did offer to drive us to the restaurant and collect us when we were ready to return.
The hospitality and the views match the luxury surroundings
this hotel was really wonderfull . the location fantastic . the veiw beutfull . and thanks for albert and his wife
It is a fantastic place, we could not belive it when we arrived. the perfect beach location with very welcoming hosts, ready to assist in any matters.
Not a hotel, more like being a house guest in the owners home. The owners were superb hosts and the other guests were delightful company. The location was stunning and very well sign posted so easy to find. Not 'didn't like', but a suggestion. We had to travel for several hours from our previous location and so were going to arrive much later than the stated checkin time. I would have liked to have been able to telephone Xanadu owners and let them know, as a courtesy, that were were on our way. However, the booking confirmation print out didn't give a contact telephone number.
Friendlyness of the owners, comfort, close to the beach, and the interior design is very beuatiful.
We have stayed in lots of different accomodations in our 5 weeks in sa This has to be by far the best.5 star LUXURY.with fantastic views.very friendly hosts. We had to leave after 2 nights there, would have loved to stay longer
wonderful peaceful place. wonderful accommadation and a great breakfast. We will certainly return. Albert, Tersia and staff were all very very nice.We stayed for 4 nights in the Presidential Suite and loved it Nothing really
The ocean view is amazing.
The hospitality, the ocean view, the comfort nothing
I really liked wilderness and from Mount Fleur it was only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Friendly owner and staff and great value for money.
The location and the view of the ocean were great. The hosts were very nice and helpfull all the way!!! Yes, the couble have to think about heating of the Louge during winter season!!!
Lovely location, friendly owners.
The personal touch and consideration by the owners who were involved in hands on management Nothing to report
It was relaxing, well organised. Denise was extremely friendly and went out of her way to please We were happy
very welcoming and friendly owners. the location was excellent in what is a beautiful, relaxed and safe location. nothing
location was great! Denise the proprietor was exceptionally helpful & friendly. Great place to relax when in wilderness
Stunning place to stay, extreemely comfortable wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was outstanding and hosts were very welcoming and friendly.
Very nice location.Staff were very friendly and the Lodge is clean , neat and stylish
Our first impressions of the setting, the garden and even the cabin were good. It quickly bacame apparent that our accommodation was filthy. This was not obvious at first because of the absence of naturall light and, in the evening, of adequate artificial light. There was a thick layer of dust everywhere, though in some places it was obvious that dusting had been attempted in a perfunctory way. There were places where the filth had built up so much over a period that white electrical fittings were sticky grey. There were remains of dead beetles in the toilet area. The cabin was dark even on a sunny day and the lighting was totally inadequate. We will be writing to you separately about this.
After staying at 7 different "B & B's" prior to this, we definitely "saved the best till last". A wonderful location with terrific hosts in Bert & Norah, fabulous accomodation and an amazing breakfast. Just a great pity we could only stay for one night. Oh, how we hope to make a return visit.
We received a very warm welcome from the owners of Waterside Lodge. Our room was excellent with a luxurious ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was delicious.
very nice breakfast!
Very friendly owners who really tried and succeeded in making yoiu feel at home
The spacious accommodation It is not a hotel but an apartment without restaurant facilities, inconvenient when trying to contact reception as it is located out of the way and phone line was unreliable. Housekeeping was not up to standards.
Great place to relax, fantastic rooms and outstanding breakfast. Lovely wild life reserve nearby and great view of the beach. When we were there, there were dolphins galore to view. It is high up some 5 minutes from the beach We had a 2 bedroom suite, one bedroom was open plan with the lounge which was OK but was not ideal.
They upgraded us to a duplex suite
Modern and contemporary accommodation and loved the massage shower and bath. The views from our room were also stunning. Easily the best accommodation we stayed in during our 4 week holiday in South Africa. The steep access to the Lodge.
Loved the location. The room with it's balcony overlooking the ocean is just beautiful. I think the room is too small, and the refrigerator too loud. I also expected a better breakfast. The pool were quite dirty and it didn't look anything like the advertised one. Our toiletries (bath wash) wasn't replenished the next day.
Scenary, wood cabin We stayed in the wood cabin, very nice. My parents stayed in the suite, the sheets were very dirty with stains on them, the shower are leaking onto the carpet.
The location of the hotel was fantastic The servicing of the room was poor - items not replaced as used. The breakfast buffet & portion size was poor.
Awesome view, good rooms, very good location Off-season feeling during Winter- staff had to go looking for a heater, did not know which room had a double bed.
Very friendly and helpful manager, told us all we needed to know about local activities and restaurants N/A
The hotel is ideally and conveniently situated relative to the shopping and dining spots. It is just about the right distance from the busy highway but close enough to the beach. We loved the hotel's dining facilities and the staff were fantastic. The bathroom could do with a bit of a facelift, the wooden railing on the balcony is a safety hazard and the room was smelly from the previous occupants' smoking!!
The atmosphere was very relaxing, with a strong friendly feeling. We felt very much at home the moment we arrived. We felt that the room we were in, 156 although comfortable, could have done with refurbishment.. The shower was particularly bad. Bathroom needed up-dating.
This hotel was like staying in a coach station and it smelled of damp. Sadly, it must have been lovely in its day but now it is not. The evening meal was virtually inedible, however the omelette in the morning was pretty good - too bad we queued so long to get it that someone else took over our table and our tea was cleared.
Hotel old and very dated - could do with some a refresh! Rooms were dated and dark!
The feel, location and price The staff at the reception could not get the computer to work properly, - lovely, friendly people but need training
Efficiency & friendlyness of personell. Facilities offered.
Although the comfort of the rooms were good, the linen on the single beds are small and do not tuck in properly. The breakfast buffet is always good and the toasted chicken mayo of room service. The location of the TV - should rather be on tv shelf higher up on the wall. The flooring/carpets could be upgraded
Its a total relaxing atmosphere and I will keep going back. Definatelly recommend it.
Beautiful setting, wonderful views. Friendly and helpful staff who were always prepared to assist you in any way they could. All in all a wonderful place to stay. We had been looking forward to taking the train from George to Knysna and were so sorry that the train does not run anymore. This is of course not the fault of the hotel.
The location and friendlyness were great Christa was a pleasure to meet and full of good advice on where to go etc etc Not really a complaint but there should be some plac on the request form to state whether we would like a double bed or two single beds Also my perception is that the room looked bigger in the photo on the website Apart from these minor issues, no complaints
brilliant location on the garden route by the sea a goal kick away. Please choose this location with Wilderness restarants five minutes walk away.
Sea Paradise was just that. The highight was being able to sit up in bed and watch the waves from the blue Indian Ocean crashing onto golden sands and strolling along the beach straight from the house. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it is a place we will long remember.
The view from our room was breathtaking, the beach beautiful. The new owners tried very hard to ensure stay was excellent.
Great view, excellent fully breakfast served in friendly atmosphere, clean room, good to enjoy highlights on garden route in our case for a World Cup stop and for beach vacation
The location was very peaceful; the rooms were large and comfortable; the owners were very hospitable. The bathrooms could be modernised and upgraded.
The hosts were warm and caring, the breakfast was divine and the whole experience was very relaxing. The perfect stop over after a long drive.
Hildesheim is a hidden gem of a place. The location, while a little off the beaten track, is superb, the views are spectacular. We stayed in one of the garden rooms and it was spotlessly clean, luxuriously fitted out, and beautifully comfortable. We arrived a little later than expected and were caught out by the fact that it was quite a distance from the nearest eating places. Our hosts were most helpful and we ended up eating on our patio under a beautiful african sky with a tray of goodies provided by them. There is a superb pool for guests, and the nearby village of Hoekwil has a small shop with the basics available. Overall this was superb value for money. Television reception was poor, presumably due to the location, but who needs tv when the views provided by the setting are this good
the location was excelent although a little difficult to find but well worth it when you get there a beautiful spot
The cottage and staff were excellent. Perfect for our adventure holiday. Great location and beautiful and tranquil scenery. No complaints perfect for what we needed.
Friendly, helpful staff.
The hotel was good, the town of George isn't somewhere where I would stay again - it's not really for leisure travel.
We had a nice and perfect stay.friendly people, lovely room, charming atmosphere, good value for money, very clean. more than i expected thank you!!
Good location at heart of town, and convenient for visiting the Garden Route. Good breakfasts. Friendly staff. Extremely cold bedroom, made worse by the sash window being ill fitting and the glass on the brink of falling out of the window frame. No action taken to get a joiner to fix it despite it being in dangerous condition. Owner seemed unconcerned at danger of injury to clients. Lack of razor power points in bedrooms/bathrooms.
We stayed at Acorn for 1 night. The room and facilities were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.
the excellent service, welcome and breakfast
Staff were helpful and welcoming. The position of the hotel is excellent, very central. Rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent value for money.
Great room Freindl staff
The position of this guest house is outstanding overlooking the ocean A little remote, no nearby resaurants
Lovely guesthouse. Well presented and the location was great. The owners were extremely hospitable. However, the room was inadequate for three people and it seemed that the hosts were unaware that we would be checking in with a child.
We were made very welcome and we were very well looked after by the owners. The room was great with a lovely view of the sea as it was positioned just on the sea front on top of the cliffs.
The owners were very friendly and helpful; sharing information about the area. Beautiful views of the ocean from our porch.
Great overview of the sea and stunning position: very relaxing environment. Inside a beautiful context. The owners are too much present. They don't leave privacy during the breakfast. The breakfast is poor.
clean , helpful staff
Very friendly, homely and welcoming.
