Situated in Austria’s “Sound of Music” Salzkammergut region, surrounded by rolling emerald hills, striking mountains, and bordering the cerulean Lake Fuschl, Schloss Fuschl Resort & Spa is a picturesque fairytale chateau combining the refinement of eras past with state-of-the-art amenities and services. Originally built in 1450 as a hunting lodge, the resort—just a Mozart serenade from Salzburg—was later used as the summer residence for the city’s archbishops and aristocrats. Subsequently, the castle became world famous and even served as the setting for the “Sissi” films starring Romy Schneider. Today, it honors its prestigious heritage, offering incomparable immersion into Austrian culture. Starting in the elegantly appointed guest rooms, suites, and lakeside cottages, regal sophistication meets unparalleled comfort, as chandeliers sparkle and exclusive Old Master art adorns the walls. On the legendary Schloss Restaurant lakeside terrace, signature Austrian delicacies and fresh fish from the resort’s own fishery meet a breathtaking view. For private parties, the historic vaulted Vinothek provides an intimate, atmospheric backdrop. Taking relaxation to the next level, our celebrated Spa offers effective treatments in a fin-de-siècle environment overlooking the lake. Comprising an indoor pool, steam bath, sauna, and fitness centre, relaxation and rejuvenation are guaranteed. An outdoor Jacuzzi or jetty-side massage, meanwhile, combines the best of the indoors and outdoors. Golfing, swimming, mountain biking, and Nordic walking, or an unforgettable drive in one of the resort’s vintage cars, are just a few additional ways to enjoy the region’s breathtaking beauty and Mozart’s birthplace, nearby Salzburg.
The hotel is beautiful and the lakeside setting perfect: Fuschlsee is most appealing and the lakeside walks through the woods enchanting. the service is excellent and the Spa facilities are superb. the breakfast in the Schloss restaurant is excellent.
The Schloss Restaurant for dinner was way below expectation and not recommended. The quality of food especially the 'Pot au Feu' and the so-called 'Irish Stew' wasa disgrace and the prices outrageous for what was served up
The welcome at the hotel was absolutely excellent we were made to feel so special. The outlook was stunning. The food was superb and the hotel took great pains to serve us even though we were very late on returning after the shows in Salzburg
We felt that our room was disappointingly small for being called a "Grand deluxe double room" and for the price we paid. Our friends paid the same and had a far better room.we did not want to make a fuss as they were introducing us to this beautiful hotel and complaining would have spoilt the holiday, but i would ask next time for a bigger room
excellent service, room facilities and view
beautiful hotel and grounds, great breakfast and wonderful staff
the lady that cleaned our room had horrible body odor
The hotel, staff and location. Beautiful facilities and well kept.
