Would Not recommend To go there again. Service Staff was unfriendly and we didnt get the Room Type we paid for. Our recommendation: Stay Away, there are much better Hotels in Linz for a Business Trip :-( Would Not recommend To go there again. The room decor. We can´t desconect the air conditioning during the night, so it was cold.
Nice location in a park and within walking distance of the center of Linz. Bus 26 stops across the road and takes you to the Hauptmarkt in less than 5'. Good restaurant and cosy bar. Free WiFi in all the rooms. Floor in the wellness area is very slippery, I fell and had to be taken to hospital.
Everything was perfect. None.
We had a lovely view of the danube and the mountains. the shower had good water pressure. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were courteous and efficient I was disappointed that there was no shampoo or moisturiser in the bathroom. I did not read the guest reviews.
- The Staff was very fiendly. - The Room and Bathroom were very clean. - It had some amenities I was not expecting, like Hair Drier, Shampoo, Body Wash, Hair Caps, Nailfiles, Shoe Cleaner, Hand Cream. - The hotel looks kind of Old from the outside. - Breakfast was a little bit expensive (13Euros) Parking also (12Euros per day) . - We (my wife and I) asked for a double room and they gave us a room with two Twin Beds, this was not specified in the booking, so maybe it was our mistake because we did't ask for a Double Bed (Queen Size). - The bath tub was not quite OK, it was clean, but the drainage spout didn't work, so almost all the water remained inside the tub. We realized about it the next morning; but, because we only stayed for 1 night, we didn't ask for another room.
nice design, good personell, good restaurant - a litle bit to expensive charged internet, price bigger than mobile phone internet, breackfast too expensive, spa service expensive too
Quite and atmosphere
air conditioning in our room We arrived by bike and the hotel directed us to a municipal car park that was open all night not into their own carpark
Very good and efficient staff
you can walk both to Hauptplatz and Main Station within 10 mim.
location was ok, in the middle of Linz After 10hrs in our car we were happy to arrive at 19:00pm. It took about 15 minutes before some one of the staff turened up at teh reception. Reception should be staffed till 22:00 hrs. What I found very very negative is that my credit card already was charged before we arrived. Booking.com puts clearly on the website that credit card is only for safety. We were planning to pay with another credit card as the trip was business and I used my pricate card fot the booking. There was no "sorry"or whatever and it was already paid so could not be changed. I really think only for this this hotel should be banned! Last thing, not important but nevertheless. One of the benfits of the executive room is a free newspaper. We never had one!
I appreciated the very quiet room so centrally located in the city. The hotel fitness center was very poorly sized, located and equipped.
Route indication, difficult to find and difficult to find a parking.
Room style and furniture, central location of the hotel None.
very central location and comfortable
My room was beautiful and well put together. The hotel itself was great. The location is awesome - close to shops and restaurants, and not far from the train station or old town. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The pillows were a little floppy and I'm not used to the European style blankets.
We had a great room, it was huge, we enjoyed our stay very much at this hotel and would recommend it Just the color of the bedroom = Green!!!!!!!!!
Typical Business Hotel
I have stayed several times and the staff have always made me feel welcome
The staff were wonderfully helpful, the room was beautiful, everything worked fine. Nothing we did not like!
It was good for a night's stay, especially while travelling for business. I would not mind staying again. The arrangement for internet connection was a bit hotch-potch.
Good value for money.
In the heart of the city. Price No complaints
location. Comfortable room. Pleasant cafe/bar. Very expensive breakfast
The room was clean an everything worked Nice sunny room in the morning The breakfast was too expensive, so we did not make use of this facility. We were at the front of the building and therefore quite noisy from traffic in the morning, when we opened the window. However, the hotel can do nothing about this. The back of the hotel is quieter, but less sunny.
Location of the hotel - very close to the pedestrian and shopping area, a lot of interesting places nearby the hotel. The hote is well accessible by car. I have paid about 30 EUR for parking instead of 15 as was declarated.
The hotel is clean and well equipped but lacks character and is quite expensive when compared to alternative types of accomodation,
The location as it is close to the centre with easy access to museums, shops and town resturants. It is modern, spacious and clean. The bed is uncomfortable with large soft pillows. I could not sleep on first night. The TV monitor fixed to the wall in the corner of the room and not facing the bed. That made viewing uncomfortable. The room is supplied with plastic chair. I prefer a soft one.
Room is very smart, contemporary and well-designed. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Good location--hotel is only a fifteen minute walk from the main town square, and a couple of minutes from the tram line. Highly recommended. The charge for Internet use is very expensive for someone who is not on a business expense account. (In fairness though, they did notify me of the price before I used it. Also, there are internet cafes nearby.)
Well-designed, comfortable modern hotel, conveniently located near the main street of Linz but very quiet. Excellent breakfast.
Beautiful building in an excellent location. The rooms are great and you have access to the sauna area which is very nicely done - it is German style however which means nude...breakfeast also very good.
The design and the location The music in the breakfast room. And all the marquisette everywhere in the hotel.
The location of the hotel is marvelous, and I liked the design aproach down to the details. Fantastic experience. Loudness of business group in front of hotel till midnight.
Location. Bright, clean rooms. Internet cord not long enough.
A beautifull design hotel with a fantastic view on the cathedral. In down town, easy to reach and a big parking. I also suggest the hotel restaurant.
Wonderful hotel, nice design, in the center of the city, great staff. we had a problem only with the heating system: in our room it was broken and the first nigh the inside temperature was too high. thenext evening we changed room and it was ok. perhaps the hotel waited too much to tell us about the heating problem and move us in an other accomodation. Anyway a beautiful hotel. We suggest to try the hotel restaurant: simply wonderful. In the room the heating system didn't work and the hotel informed us about this problem only after a 27°c nigh in the room! They would have immediately to move us in a new accomodation
Everything was fine I liked everything ))
It is one of the best out there! I don't have anything bad to say about it! Excellent gourmet breakfast, great location, professional staff, incredible ambiance!
Very nice environment and quiet area. The hotel stands just by the old cathedral in the old town. This hotel has no bath tub but good shower.
I liked the htel room, it was fearly big. The breakfast was excellent for this price. The bathroom was not too roomy.
Although I booked a double room, they had a single room booked, luckily there was no problem to change to a double room. I double checked my printout of the booking form to be sure the mistake was not mine.
no single rooms
The staff were very friendly, rooms great as were the restaurant and bar. No Iron & ironing board plus No tea or coffee making facilities which was quite disappointing. I think this is a must to have when you have international business travellers who work during the day as well as very early mornings.
Space of the room, comfort of the bed, comfort of the hotel, parking close Parking price really abusive (12€ per 24hours for hotel guests!), price of breakfast (13€ per person per day) so we didn't take any, only 1 towel per person in the room
We had a very nice upgrade for our anniversary. The variety at the breakfast was very good. There was no concierge service for our baggage.
Even though there was some lobby consruction underway, everything about the hotel was excellent. The breakfast exceeded even our highest expectations. It was great experiencing U.S.-style accommodations, especially real air-conditioning once again, a long way from home in the USA. Courtyard by Marriott continues to be at the top of my favorites list for consistently good service and excellent quality. Thanks.
The breakfast There was no free internet in the rooms
Fair quality of the room for the price and nice staff Poor breakfast if having in mind the famous Austrian meals... :)
Location: easy access from the station
Location See above.
Location, value for money underground garage could not be reached via elevator - heavy work via a staircase, to get your luggage in your room...
Helpful, friendly staff who spoke excellent English. Locality of hotel near town and airport. General cleanliness of hotel was excellent. Good facilities too.
room was smelling of cigarettes
The hotel had free internet access for patrons. There wasn't any adaptors for mobile phone or camera chanrging.
The bathroom didn't smell good. Althought we had complained about it, the problem was not solved. The hotel does not fit the Ibis quality standart.
Location is convenient for people who want to catch the train early in the morning. Considering the rate, the hotel is just average.
easy access from train station
This is the third time we stopped at this hotels, it was just a short stop on our way to Switzerland, but it was very pleasant. The beds were very comfortable, the food was good, and the staff very friendly. I recommend it to anyone who needs a short stop over night in Linz. Nothing negative about this hotel crosses my mind.
Comfortable clean room & good breakfast No access to the river without walking across a field or having to cross a motorway to get there from town without walking a long way around. Surrounding buildings very industrial.
Fabulous setting on the Danube, comfy hotel, good parking
very convenient location
The staff was extremely friendly and flexible. The room was nice and comfortable as well as spacious, clean and rather modern.
Very helpful and pleasant staff
The hotel is easily accessible from the Autobahn from Germany (Munich & Regensburg) and Austria (Salzburg & Vienna). The location on the Danube is pleasant with good views from the rooms facing the river. Although close to a main bridge the rooms are not noisy. The restaurant is good and the outside terrace (we had dinner and breakfast) very plesant. Linz is not a particularly attractive city (industrial) but is close to lovely countryside. We visited Cesky Krumlov which is about 90 minutes drive before drving across country to Vienna and Bratislava. I dislike hotels that advertise wifi internet throughout the hotel and then charge by the hour. Today the vast majority of hotels I use have free internet and I wish all would do so - even if they add 1 euro to the room rate. Also the signal was poor. Also the hotel advertises public parking and again charges. Most people using this hotel will drive and the parking is under the building. Again I wish these hotels would include parking in the rate.
Friendly staff and location was excellent. There is no free wi-fi in the rooms or free internet access in the lobby.
Superb breakfast choice Tea & coffee making facilities in the room would be a great addition. Access to the hotel is v confusing, fortunately we arrived when it was still daylight. The hotel surroundings are a bit bleak.
comfortable rooms. good parking. good value design of rooms is a bit dated
The staff were very welcoming and made a point of greeting us each time they saw us. Breakfast was good. The carpet in the lift was not clean, giving a bad first impression. The toilet was not particularly clean. The mattress was very hard. There was no air-conditioning and as there is a tower clock very close which chimes every 15 minutes, our sleep was disturbed.
Staff were very friendly and helped me with my terrible German. I think the owner/manager was berating his staff in the middle of the dining room during breakfast which struck me as a little unnecessary.
What I liked most was the friendly and competent staff. I strongly recommend staying at the City Hotel in Linz.
good and friendly staff. good breakfast buffet. generally satisfied. location
It was handy to the areas I wanted to see in the City as well as being close to the Railway Station. The room was comfortable. No safe in the room. The curtain around the window was useless as I am not a tall person and I could not draw it around the curve of the window. Also, I like having a window open and then the curtain wouldn't move at all because of the window - it would have been better if the curtain went straight across in front of the desk.
The hotel staff are very diligent and friendly. Dainty breakfast was served.
no more than two stars for the price I pay the reception, the noise of the guest next to my room
I love that you accept pets (my small dog comes everywhere with us!) pleasant reception and family friendly. Although my daughter is older now and does not usually travel with us, it is a pleasure to see families traveling together. wireless internet with an outrageous fee.
It was not a 4 star hotel, morelikely a 2 star hotel
Staff were excellent
low noise, parking facilities food not as good as expected
The reception service was exceptional
Free and good Wifi connection. Staff was friendly both at reception and in the restaurant. Hotel in desperate need of renovation. Bathroom was awful (showerhead broken, (plastic) parquet coming off etc. When I checked in, about 40 Italian teenagers with teachers mingled in the lobby, very loud (it takes two Italian adults to be loud) and impression of having arrived at Youth Hostel. The turkey I had in the restaurant was a piece of industrial meet without taste, at least the waiter agreed with me, but his argument that turkey always taste of nothing was a bit of a surprise,,,,,
Well located, but very expensive. Costly WiFi and adsl internet connection.
Only the lobby looks nice. Room fixtures are very old and poor food at restaurant. The hotel overall does not suit a 4-star rating.
Excellent service, nice hotel and the room accomodates 4 persons, which is rare these days. Superb breakfast (not included though) and super fast internet line The toilet was very smelly and the shower head didn't hold but otherwise, no complain.
-Nice location in the heart of the city. -Restaurant and furniture.
Beautiful, old hotel. I liked very much that it was in the old town close to beautiful architecture and culture. Easy and fast to get to restaurants, shopping area and old buildings. Nice and helpfulness people working there. I chose this hotel also because it is very old and romantic. The bathroom has many tiles on the floor that were loose and could be lifted up. Room 34
I had a central location and the old part of the city was all around. Parking was at a public but secure underground car park within 5 mins walk. It had period furniture and a very Austrian feel. Althouhg it had a period feel which was good, the hotel could be re-painted and smartened up. The breakfast was just adequate.
We enjoyed being in a hotel where we were aware of the antiquity of the building, whilst having very comfortable accommodation and friendly service.
Very friendly personnel
The staff was great. Breakfast very good. Excellnt location.
rooms - location parking arangment
Rooms quaint, very central. Linz was an exhausting experience (driving & trying to find parking) but hotel lovely!
central location in the city
The hotel has a very good location right in the main square of Linz, very good for exploring the city. There is no parking of the hotel. Parking in the underground square, although in theory had a reduction offered for the hotel, was only available for stays of 2 or more nights (which was not indicated when doing reservation or in the hotel's website). In the end we had to pay 20 euros for less than a day parking. Besides, most rooms of the hotel are in a back extension which do not have views of the square. In fact they do not have views at all, my room just faced a wall of the next building. Based on these reservations I would not stay again in the hotel but would choose another one with in-site cheaper parking and with more natural light and views from the rooms.
It seems to be an Hotel of **** even if they said that it is only ***. It is really near the downtown, and the staff it is really helpfull. Maybe they have to improve theyr use of english, but i Think it doesn't matter very much.
Staff was extremely helpful. Well equipped, clean and functional room and bathroom. Good breakfast choice. Small children/babies are welcome. On top of it, it is run by charity organization. All in all, we enjoyed out stay a lot.
How very central the hotel was to everything, buses, trams, shops & resurants I would have liked to have seen a coffee lounge, because when you come back to yr rooms, it would be nice to enjoy a drink before bedtime
Very friendly and very professional english speaking staff. Breakfast is excellent! Having a bible in the room might be offended. Religion is a very sensitive and personal issue. Some visitors might feel this as forced religious propaganda.
The ability to use the nearby gym for free
Best location, parking area, good spirit in the hotel, excellent staff's servey, clear managing of stay.
Very close to the center, excellent and rich breakfast buffet! Room was nice and clean, bath-room well-equipped! Recommended!
Excellent breakfast buffet, worth every extra cent spent on it!
Close to the city center. Nice staff. It was like old and a little dirty, specially the bathroom.
Rooms are great, and breakfast also Staff is very arogant, and do not have any responsible person.
Clerk desks>> seem to be not competent enough: they booked someone else to the same room where I stayed, then programmed that person's door electronic key so, that this stranger came accidentally to my room.
Everything was fine. Could not say anything about a breakfast - in 3 minutes by walk in the city center direction is perfect cafe! There is free parking 5 minutes walking from hotel, but hotel personal did not tell us about it anything.
The room was very nice and modern and we were fond of our bathroom:-) the service was good and it was only 15 mins walk from downtown so perfect choice for us.
Room was excellently furnished, staff friendly and helpful, location very convenient for public transport. Quiet neighbourhood.
Nice and convenient. Excellent for business trips.
The room was excellent and the staff also. Brekfast on the outside terrace was very good. I was having problems with internet because I couldn't log in every time that I wanted.
Hotel is very nice! Room is very compact, clean and tidy.Very big wide screen TV in front of your king size bad, graved in the wall.Pillows are speicaly designed and very comfortable.Every part of your room is used properly.Maybe just lavatory could be joined with toilet in one separate place.Hotel is very modern inside.Real value for money!!! Just 5 minutes by car to city centre-downtown, or 15 minutes walk!!! Nice shift guy at reception did not speak a word of English, but was funny.Breakfast is maybe a bit expencive -13EUR per person, you can go to near local shops and buy cheap foods,if you want to save some money.
very nice room, excellent restaurant and very good breakfast room's windows were to downtown which was very loud on a friday night. (partyzone); the hotel offers no spa or wellness feature at all. So I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic journey.
Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful room
Good location, clean rooms, nice atmosphere Price/quality bad - hotel way to expensive for quality offered. Rooms completely outdated (classic style doesn't mean not modernizing for 30 years!), old bathrooms and facilities
Excellent location, kind and helpfull staff, good restaurant
Excellent location in center of old city, Steyr. The hotel is located in an historic building with tasefully decorated rooms. The establishment radiates quality and care. The breakfast is pure pleasure, and we truly enjoyed eating in Mader's restaurant.
the front lady didn't tell us to bring room key. The door of the hotel was closed when we came back from Opera. The interphone of the hotel did not work well and we had to wait for 30 minutes until the hotel man came and open the door.
Great Location. Good attentive staff. Located right in the center of the altstadt.
The hotel is very good situated in the center of Steyr. The rooms are clean and cosy, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. In general a excellent, historic hotel!
Greatest breakfast - not so much for quantity as for quality: great choice of cheese. And the room was at least 80 sqm, really, larger than the average flat in our city! Too many stairs and a little bit too many corridors, but that's the way it goes in medieval architecture...
Everything. It's position was excellent, the staff could not have been friendlier, our rooms were well well above the hotels star rating and the free use of the hotel garage meant there was no need to look for parking. All in all it was probably the best hotel of its kind I have ever stayed in, and the next time I am within 100 kilometers I will divert my journey to use it again. Interestingly the town of Styer itself is well worth the visit. Certain guides describe it as an industrial town. Coming from England we expect industrial towns to be dirty, smelly, smokey places full of morons. Nothing could be further from the truth with Styer or its people. The Old Town centre is late medevil, the buildings wonderful and the character of the town is just great. All this and a trully marvelous hotel really makes the trip worthwhile. Not a single thing.
New hotel only 2 years old. Modern clean well designed rooms, only 4 minute drive to town centre, our room overlooked some old houses and a river with the main city in the distance. When Church service is on we had to park away from hotel, but staff pick up car the next day with 10 minutes notice.
very nice location, beautiful wellness area, good kitchen, friendly staff Nothing
The quiet and the view. It is a very good centre for a stay in Austria in easy reach of the Danube, Salzburg the lovely Austrian countryside even Viena is not too far away. We combined some business with a few days holiday for which it was perfect. Very good for business. No lounge or leisure facility. No in room mini bar or facility to make a simple hot drink as we are used to in the UK. Not suitable for kids for which there were no facilities at all. Very modern and businesslike rather than homely. Food OK if not exceptional.
Good accommodation good food nice staff Breakfast very limited choice, no real continental breakfast no croissants was available etc, just had scrambled eggs and very fatty bacon - not pleasant but coffee nice though.
Very good service and peaceful ambience.
Great staff and location
'to' kind to be true, but superb hotel
Good place for relaxing and nice breakfast. The free parking and Wifi also is advantage.
Beautiful family-run hotel accommodation. The location of the hotel offers very nice surroundings. Hotel is very quite and you can just erlax and use hotel's welness. An ideal choice!
One of the best hotels I have ever visited as a business traveler. Very helpfull staff, great location, free internet and good food. Need no more. No remarks.
Friendly staff, leisure facilities and value for money. None.
good location, right next to the big park and close to the city center; very nice golf course only 5 minutes by car from the hotel; different running (walking) tracks in the park not only for beginners, but also for advanced runners breakfast was limited for 4stars hotel
Very good owner , near the spa eurotherme and also near the village centre with possibilities to eat typical Austrian food- can recommend typical Austrian pub called Hametner Gasthof just about 7 minutes by walk nearby in the vicinity.
It was in the center of the city. The access to the hotel and the lack of dining facilities.
The location is excellent. The old city centre is is really near. The room was nice. The hotel looks good from the street but from inside the entrance and corridors look a bit like an old shopping mall or so. However, the room we stayed in was nice and in line with the external apearance of the hotel. According to the information given, there is a parking place 'at the site' but it is not actually true. The hotel's own parking place is under a bridge some hundreds of meters away. The parking place was dark and dirty but since it is in Austria, I don't think it is dangerous in any way. Our stay was okay but the price was perhaps too high for this stay, saying this based on our numerous experiences in many other places in the world.
The rooms were very nice & comfortable The entrance was confusing and difficult to unload luggage. Parking is not by the hotel
