Excellent location, decor & service, attention to details Nothing
Garage on site and good Beer (Pilsner Urquell) on tap Food poor and decor could be more up to date
Nice renovated room, quiet, breakfast ok Parking facilities, too expensive, only 1 lift, there was a group of tourist and I waited the lift 15 minutes...
Cleanliness and comfort of beds 1- Staff poor service (not friendly nor welcoming at the reception) unlike staff on breakfast who were friendly and welcoming. 2- The site gave us a price of 13 euro per day for hotel park and the hotel gave us a price of 15 euro per day. 3- poor breakfast.
Facilities and staff excellent. Magnificent location. Food in Restaurant and Bier Stube excellent. The best restauranrt was outstanding food at budget prices.. Breakfasts are a weakness. Plenty of choice but quality not the best. Cold plates and frequently cold and congealed food. Staff service at breakfast did not match the other restaurants' service. Garaging a bit expensive.
Visited Ceske Krumlov, Hluboka castle and rafted down Vltava rive
Very clean and proper room, friendly staff.
Location Beds too hard and narrow. Smoking permitted in the restaurant.
Location Rating should be 3 star and not 4 stara as its package tour orientated. Decor is terrible. Bathrooms although recently renovated its impossible to have a decent shower without water going all over the floor due to shower head location.
The Grand Hotel Zvom is a very classy hotel located on the square in Ceske Budejovice. The square is perhaps one of the main shopping areas of the city and contains lots of nice shops and a couple of restaurants. The hotel room was very nice, including a tub in the bathroom. Beds and pillows were comfortable as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was included in the rate we paid, and it was good. We chose the hotel because some of the reviews indicated its close proximity to the train station. I guess it depends on how one defines “close.” It was between ½ to ¾ of a mile, so one might give some consideration to that. There appeared to be one or two taxis at the train station that could be useful. Associated with the hotel are one or two restaurants, including one that features another local beer, not Budvar which Ceske Budejovice is famous for. Naturally, we tried both of them. If one is a beer lover, one will not be disappointed by either of the beers featured. Nothing
The hotel is peaceful and quiet during my stay. We had a nice and clean room. Very close to the castle and other main attractions.
the staff were excellent helpful friendly polite rooms were clean tidy ample room quiet easy to get arounnd town from
Location ok if you go by car. Near public parking, security?? Friendly staff. The rooms overrated. Could depend on the location inside the city wealls. The breakfast was plentiful and good.
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location for sightseeing
Modern apartment with excellent facilities including washing machine. Clean and comfortable. Located in city centre. Excellent breakfast served in cafe below, good value for 300 Kr. Staff most helpful and speak some english. Overall highly recommended and excellent value for money.
Brilliant apartment - brand new and in great location in the city centre. It was actually nicer than in the pictures. The staff didn't speak a word English or German, what made it hard to communicate with them. They were nice though.
The service was excellent, the hotel superb - well beyond expectations and among the best we have seen. Rooms are big and immaculate, with all you need and more. If there are rooms at the Residence, i recommend you stay!
The room was very clean and comfortable, we stayed in one of their self contained apartments. regretted not staying another night. The staff was friendly and helped us with our luggage. The breakfast the next morning was also very good, Definitely recommend to others nothing
Quite difficult to find parking close the Hotel
Please write at least 15 words
Superb location. Nice room. Couple of burnt out light bulbs in room. TV remote control did not work well. Breakfast service was not up to four star standard.
The hotel is in very nice location in town, situated by the river and, fi you're lucky, you'll get a great view of the castle from your room. The rooms are generally well-appointed. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The website details regarding car-parking are very misleading - there is no parking available on the street. If you want to park, you will be directed to a local brewery which is a 5 minute drive and then a 10 minute walk from the hotel - not great with luggage. However, the hotel staff are extremely helpful in explaining how the parking operates. Breakfast is pretty limited. Despite being in a very quiet old town, each vehicle which goes by over the cobblestone sounds very loud in the middle of the night.
it was difficult to found the parking area
The location, the receptionist...he was so helpful The shower needs a curtain and the towels were small and thin...lower than expectation for a 4* hotel
very good location, spacious room cleanliness is not exactly flawless, parking place is a bit far from the hotel
Excellent location. The rooms facing the river have perfect views of the castle. Parking is somewhat of a pain (you have to drive through the "pedstrian-only" town and then around in a big circle), but that's outweighed by the location in the heart of the town.
It's in a very nice location just in front of the castle. The room was very nice. Yes, the parking is very far away from the hotel and very bad indicated. Also the staff doesn't speak good english and their explanations costed me a good fine because I did not park in the right place.
The hotel is situated on the river directly across from the Castle. It's a perfect, very scenic, location and everything is within walking distance. The staff, room, and breakfast, along with the reasonable room rate (59 Euros), will definitely bring us back to this hotel.
Good location! Good access to anywhere! Good cost performance! The various kinds of food at breakfast! Just in front of the castle across the river. The hotel staff prepared for the castle view and riverside room. We could see a wonderful view from the window! The room was really wide and comfortable!
Excellent location, can viewCesky Krumlov Chateau from the window.
Spacious apartment overlooking the main square. Very modern and clean bathroom with a big bath. We opted to stay an extra night. No lift. Have to park 10 miniutes walk away outside the historic centre, but it's a pleasant walk.
Pretty new facilities and pleasant triple room. Breakfast is very good with excellent pastries. Just next to the square near the city centre. Though pleasant hotel, but unpleasant experience as hotel staffs just increase the room rates for my child. The instruction written clearly child under 3 stay for free, but staff refused to review the instruction and said I did not inform them before my stay. This is the only hotel which did the same during my whole trip (all other 7 hotels did not increase the rate at all for my little child!!!). Unfair for parents bringing children. Maybe better for double or twin rooms.......
The staff, although absent from the front desk for most of the time, was very kind and did everything to help us. The air con did not work in the middle of summer and we just got a breeze. The hotel has poor facilities and no elevators, so we had to face the stairs. Also, the rooms were not very clean.
Spacious, modern room. No lifts. But the staff carried our bags up.
There is no question that the location of the hotel is its prime asset being located in the main piazza of the city centre. Drivers should know that cars are allowed into the city centre for the purpose of checking into a hotel. You then have to drive to a distant car park assisted by a taxi driver who drives ahead of you. Although this taxi service is free, the taxi return ride is not. Nor is the parking which commands a hefty daily charge and which you are not told about in advance. What annoyed me most however was the arbitary exchange rate (7% higher than the official rate) applied by the receptionist (despite my protestations) to convert the Euro price applicable at the time I booked my hotel into Czech Koruna.
Very niceely renovated old building. Excellent location in city central historic square.
The location of Hotel is quite good. no
Staff was very helpful. Location was superb and the included breakfast was very nice. No
Every request and query were dealt with promptly and kindly even when this involved language difficulties. Very welcoming hotel. Lack of elevator could be a problem.
The location is great, it's in the very heart of Cesky Krumlov. 10-15 minutes' walk from bus station, 5-10 minutes' walk from Cesky Krumlov Castle. The room was comfortable and clean, spacious compared to price. Good choice for that price.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and spacious. Parking was available, free and easy. It was a bit of a walk from the old town, and the free wifi didn't work well.
It was very clean and we liked the layout of the hotel room. We had a loft where our kids slept. The breakfast was good and in general we were just happy with the location and cleanliness. Not one thing.
Good value, modern, clean, friendly, helpful staff, close to town centre but quiet. Excellent breakfast included. Wi-Fi included. Good walks and off-road runs nearby. None
The pension was clean, comfortable and cheap. All the necessary facilities were provided, including a good breakfast and plenty of hot water. All in all a very good bargain.
non what so ever
I have stayed in Chesky Krumulov several times. This pension is the most confortable one. It will depend on that the builing is very new and the room is more wider than other pension.
We had a lovely time here. Staff is very friendly, typical Czech breakfast is very good. Secure parking and easy access to the historical center within 10 minutes. Hotel is new and very clean. Much better option if you drive a car since many locations in the historical center do not offer parking or it is very limited.
this was a lovely choice for a family traveling with 2 kids. we stayed in the maisonette and we had a room down stairs and the kids had twin beds in the loft. the view of the castle was phenomenal and the walk into the town easy and gave us piece of mind when traveling with a car. they lock the gate for car security which with a rented car was important to us. the breakfast was abundant and everything was neat and clean in this only 2year old establishment. The hostess speaks excellent English and was a big help with inital directions. NO complaints here
Very clean and close to the tourist areas. Breakfast was gooed with a range of choices. Air conditioning would have been handy but not having it did not detract from the stay
Modern look & cleaniness. Spacious room. Design radiator to dry the towels.
Very modern and great small hotel near the town.
A fantastic hotel in the centre of the town. The decor throughout the hotel and in our room was excellent and reminiscent of a restored monastery. The location was ideal for sightseeing and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking is not on site as stated in hotel's details on the website. It is in a secure site not far away but necessitates a complicated drive through the town's streets. A bit of a surprise.
We really like to room - the Castle view was a killer and my partner loved the furniture.Lady at the reception was ever so helpful and gentleman who took our luggages and parked our car was brilliant. a true benefit to the hotel! Morning staff were quite grumpy and no one has asked what we like to drink.
Wonderful location; nice breakfast, bar and helpful staff. The rooms are a little strange. Internet access is available (free of charge) but located (in both of the rooms we looked at) far away from any place to sit with a computer. The television is nicely hidden from view in a medieval style cabinet but so far from the bed that it could not be viewed. There was no drawer space for clothing storage or luggage racks. The bathroom was very nice.
The decor was stunning - medieval mixed with modernity. The hotel has obviously been very thoughtfully fitted out to suit its location and period. There are a huge number of tapestries and paintings - okay, so not original tapestries, but excellent nevertheless. You feel as though you are staying in an old monastery. Our room was also spacious. In a hotel of this class, one would expect a larger shower (and larger shower head), rather than a little shower over a bath. It's always good to find an iron and ironing board in a hotel room, but this hotel did not have these items. (I didn't ask at Reception - maybe there was a separate ironing room somewhere). It's also nice to have your own tea or coffee making facilities in your room - again lacking.
The view from my room I was disappointed my friend's room faced into the courtyard
room was great, location wonderful and whole ambience fantastic.
A charming hotel staffed by charming people. I have stayed there before, and I will stay there again.
Winter time but good view from the room. Quite nice location to/from city entrance (in case of coming by car) as well as to/from any other sightseeing points. Rate is a bit high compared with other hotels in the city.
atmosphere, the town isnt WIFI in the room,
no functioning internet
Quiet, beautiful hotel and surroundings
Location of the hotel is very nice. The enterier of the hotel room is expecially luxury and harmonize to the ancestral castle.
Beautiful place, it almost looked as it was a part of the castle. Very friendly staff. I loved the saloon with the fire place, leather armchairs and pool. Very cosy. The room was very nice with great view of the Vltava river. Booked double room but we had to single beds next to each other.
Location of the hotel is very nice it was perfect and wonderful. The room was beautiful, large and clean (2 basins!).The enterier of the hotel room are luxury and harmonize to the ancestral castle. The breakfast was very good. Wonderful
wonderful place near Hluboka Castle, friendly restaurant staff photos better than reality
Beautiful hotel, nice room, polite and very helpfull staff Antique bathroom situated at the castle entrance without curtains and no shower curtains too. Had to hold shower and did not have the possibility to hang it somewhere on the wall.
Location - just few minutes from castle. Breakfast was disaster. We came at 10:15 and there was nothing - no clean table, no plates, no food. We were not alone that time so after claim they started to clean and serve again. Explanation - new waiter.
Friendly staff, relaxing spa experience, and in a located right underneath the castle. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Location hotel, was in citycentre and near very nice Castle. Recpetion had good communication skills, German and Englisch. Due to renovation of the restaurant we had our breakfast in the hotel next door. They had a conference, so was a bit messy. But therefor the hotel had a good price during our stay.
Pleasant, comfortable room with full bathtub and city view. Wifi was advertised but not available.
Nice rooms, good value. It's not quite 4 star hotel... But on the other hand it doesn't have a 4 star price. It looks like it was 4 stars in the 90'S.
not a 4 star hotel
Excellent value for money. Airconditioned rooms and we had escellent views as well. Slow elevatros (stayed at 14th floor).
Great breakfast, fantastic localization, nice staff speaks English very well, huge parking lot, nice bar in a lobby and a restaurant with normal prices no place to hang a towel in bathroom, too small tv, no AC
Only 10 min walk to main square, reasonable level of facilities, aircon lacking in rooms (see below) during hot weather. Breakfast spread was pretty good. No aircon though staff opened the windows at our request, a fan would still have been useful. Front desk person who dealt with our check out would have been perfect kgb (or Czech equiv) interrogator. Despite these issues was still pleasant stay even in hot weather
the courtesy of the staff
Good value for money, nice room, attentive staff both at receiption and at breakfast.
Hotel was very central and the staff were very helpful, we had booked for one night, but stayed for two after. Breakfast was very good N/A
Despite my bad impression of the small rooms, i was able to sleep very well and the view to the city was just beautiful. I would have appreciated if i could have opened my window, and the included breakfast was not what i would expect, they need a bit more variety on the tables.
Very nice location. There is also a nice swimming pool ( outdoor and Indoor) very clsoe by There was no availability of beds for children only cots
Close to the city center. Huge beds in a spacious room. Quite a new building. Soup at breakfast.
Nice clean rooms, very quiet. The restaurant staff was a bit slow...
Perfect facilities, very good location with nice river view. Newly decorated old time style building. The breakfast was quite poor.
the hotel is very nice and well equiped with everything. breakfast is good, dont need any much improvement. the restaurant is very very good and not expensive at all. the fire alarm went off at 6.30 in the morning, and than they discover it was a system malfunction.
Apart from the general atmosphere of the hotel it was the staff in general that really made me feel very much at home.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Location stunning No
Excellent location, very helpful staff, great little city, beautiful castle town, cobblestone streets, friendly people
We loved the fact that the hotel was right in the middle of the old square. It was really easy for us to get around and see the glorious sights of Ces Krumlov.
Fabulous location and it snowed Uncomfortable bed, no proper chair in the bedroom, room was too light during the night, Breakfast was missing a lot because it wasn't topped up after a big group.
Location, location, location! The breakfast was also OK, I was expecting for worse. Friendly staff, speaks english. 2 absolutely uncomfortable single beds. The famous restorant "catacombs" was fully occupied for 3 hours in advance (booking thru hotel reception)
The location is great. No preliminary information about parking. (The hotel is in the walking district.)
We had a great time staying here. I staff was the best that we met on our trip, they even got up early to fix breakfast.
The place, kindly service
charming, excellent location, helpful staff fee charged for guests to use internet, car service to train station charged taxi rate - not mentioned when it was arranged
the location and their breakfast was the best part of this hotel room too expensive for what they offer ie, uncomfortable beds, cheap linens, too noise in the hallway. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the swimming pool because my 4 year-old likes to swimm. However, when we ask about where the swimming pool was, their response was "can't use the swimming pool, it's "reserved" Whatever that meant, we'll never know because they did not offer any further explanation. My 4 year-old was upset and we were upsent because of it. I will not stay in this hotel again.
very nice hotel large room, free wifi, few steps from town square.good looking restaurant-sorry that i didn't have time to try lunch or dinner.
The hotel is perfectly located just off the main square in the centre and has large rooms for the cost with full bathrooms (rather than just a shower). Unfortunately although they remembered I reserved a room they didn't remember I had also reserved a parking space in their garage and so only suggested on-street parking some distance away which I could not pre-pay for and therefore had to get up early & move my car - Not happy!! In addition their restaurant was closed all weekend for a private booking (not mentioned during reservation) and their cellar bar was fully booked all night so I had to find an alternative at 8pm on a Friday night - the choices were limited!! Reccomendation is that you telephone ahead if planning on eating at the hotel and also make sure they've reserved your parking space. Alternatively come by bicycle and bring your own food.
Nice rooms and warm staffs. Very helpful
nice atomasphere.staff was nice. location is very good.
Good loocation, and very good price - I book a suite for 60 EURO Breakfast could be better
Very good location. The beer restaurant served Budweiser beer and good deal.
Wonderful rooms, very big and well heated.Friendly staff and a fantastic location just off the main square. The rooms and the breakfast.
good for staying overnight before or after a visit to Cesky Krumlov, and for the original budweiser in the beer hall. not much else in the town. parking is behind the hotel on the other side of the road. if you miss it, it's a long long way to go to find a place to turn back because of all the one-ways.
Size and quality of the room.
It wasnt really 4*. Overally good but you can get better for that money in Krumlov. Depends on deal. We paid 220 euro for 3 nights in double room but they actually ask for 130 euro for night during holiday on the desk and that would be far too much. Breakfast was only until 9.30 and wasn't anything special
Good access by car. Hotel`s own parking lot. Close to city centre.
I like the place where it s situated, disign. I don't like the noise of construction early in the morning and some insects in the bathroom
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is small and charming. Everything was very clean and in good repair. The breakfast was just okay, but not very good.
The breakfast, the room and the staff. There wern't any drapery in the shower and the toilet was on the wrong side of the shower.
As there is no shower curtain in our bathroom, it has been wet in our bathroom even though we have been careful to do that. We have asked them to prepare the extra bed at around 8:00pm and we were out about three hours and half however there were no extra bed in our room when we have
