The staff were very friendly, and helpful when I checked in. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The mini-bar key didn't work, and it would've been nice to have a fridge to keep some drinks in the fridge, but I didn't inquire with the staff, and I assume they would've rectified that for me if I had. Nice and central, so traveling for business doesn't mean limited options for food and amenities.
The hotel was located in a perfect location. I was close to everything I wanted to be near. The pool and other facilities was the best. The room was also very cozy.
Hotel was beautiful! Staff was friendly and attentive. Location was fantastic! Our room had a phenomenal view of the Hollywood sign. Pool was gorgeous. All in all, it was the best experience we could have hoped for on our first trip to Tinseltown.
The staff was amazing!! So helpful! The rooms were very comfortable!! The beds were great!! We had a room with a view, and it was fantastic. The one big thing that I didn't like was, that there was no fridge in the room. We asked for one and got one for a small charge. The other only thing I didn't like was, that there was no microwave in the room.
Loved the location of this hotel. Service was great as well!
The mattresses were too old and lacked firmness.
IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME TO CALIFORNIA FOR MY WIFE AND I ,WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE HOTEL .HOW SPOTLESS EVERYTHING WAS.THE MEN IN THE CONCEIER DESK CHRIS,AND NINO WHERE VERY HELPFUL.THE BUFFET BREAKFEAST WAS THE BEST.
As soon as we stepped out of the car we were treated with such surprising care. The man at valet, Ever (that's his name- EVER, how cute is that?) was so nice that my fiancée and I looked at each other and just shook our heads and laughed. We weren't used to customer service like this. We went to check in early, 1pm, and Melanie at the front desk was able to upgrade us to a corner suite! The entire staff was so professional but without being too stuffy. The hotel was beyond our expectations. Not a big deal but there was one little Q-tip outside our room for our stay. We kind of joked that they gave us the Q-tip suite. We also couldn't find coffee in the morning inside the hotel. We had our coffee maker in the room but needed more and didn't want to pay $15 for a pot of coffee at the restaurant.
The staff was great. It was right in the middle of Hollywood, nice and clean. Loved the shopping connected to it.
Staff was ecellent Parking a little too expensive
I told them we were staying for a special occasion and they had the availability to upgrade our room. Very accommodating made the night special for us, despite the many events happening in and arround the hotel (holiday parties etc.)
Location, concierge was nice, and the pool was fabulous
- Fresh and well-maintained hotel (especially considering its age) - Very cool decor in the main areas and rooms are well-appointed - Very nice staff - Pool is nice (although it can be crowded during the day, and has a 'bouncer' stationed at the entrance - this is needed given the popularity, but is a little much) - The first room I stayed in was small, had a view of nothing but the rooftop A/C units, and had incredibly noisy ventilation system. The very polite front desk staff moved me to a different (and much nicer) room upon request - $10 bottles of water in the room. Come on guys, a complimentary bottle of water won't kill the margins. - 'Hotel-branded' flip flops for sale at $20 instead of the inexpensive complimentary slippers that are normally available at hotels of this level
The hotel is tired. It has two elevators that hold ten passengers. One of the elevators was often out of order. Sometimes there were guests stuck in the elevator. There was no way to use the stairs so wait times to get to our room were long. Our room was small. The TV was not working well. Mediocre at best.
Music was great as well as quality of guests. Staff were very rude and not helpful. Would not accept cash for incidental room fee
The decor and friendly staff, the 24hr diner and the pool party. The lift was close by and was a little noisy early hours of the morning.
My room smelled terrible. I didn't like the staff because they were very rude to me for walking around the hotel at night.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location, very close to many tourist attractions. Great restaurants and bars inside hotel. Very cool atmosphere Very hard to sleep in when staying by the pool. Lots of noise every morning from both the hallway and the pool. Hallways smell like weed. Even though we knew we had to pay for parking, $36 a night is a bit extreme
Great rooms. Great bar. Wonderful onsite restaurants. Wonderful location. Fantastic staff.
Everything. Joe at front desk was sooo nice The rain!! Booo
The service and room were phenomenal N/a
i liked the look of the rooms. They were nicely decorated. The size of the pool was great - lots of room for everyone. The location was very convenient to a Metro and to the touristy area. The pool area was a little confusing. It was hard to tell which chairs were taken. The chairs by the shallow end of the pool were occupied by people who didnt seem to want to get wet which was frustrating. The hotel room felt like a store. Too many items for sale. This also took up precious space for personal items.
The location is awesome.Albin, the employee at the front desk was extremely helpful. The hotel needs renovation. The brekfast is a disaster:(
every thing nothing
Location, off road parking
Friendly and helpfull staff, clean rooms and a great location.
The hotel is direct in the heart of Hollywood. Friendly stuff. Big rooms with kitchen.
I think this hotel is good location, near hollywood bvd, and cheap for hotel at good location. There is no bell man, and breakfast is fair..
location & free parking
Location, friendly staff, complimentary breakfast and all day coffee.Very good choice would stay again.
Great location, close to a metro station and to a tourist bus stop. Coffee and tea at the reception 24 hours. All the staff very friendly and helpfull. Always smilling and trying to help you which I really appreciated. Breakfast very basic but not a problem for me. Some hotels around dont offer breakfast inclusive.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
A clean and comfortable apartment with all the necessities. Location was perfect for our needs and others who are there for Hollywood Blvd. For some this might be a little too closed to the grittier side of Hollywood.
Room was massive for a great price. Ideally located for what we had in mind. Quiet for being so close to Hollywood Blvd.
Very good hotel No bad points
The hotel staff was great. On arrival, they couldn't find my online reservation but accommodated me immediately. My non-smoking room smelled of smoke and I was moved immediately. Free wireless internet was a plus. Room was clean and spacious.
Great location, very near to all the main attractions and to the Metro station. Good breakfast, good sized room which was very comfortable and quiet. Great value for money. The breakfast room was small and would sometimes be crowded.
Convenience to the Hollywood Bowl. Within walking distance to tourist areas and the metrolink station .
Very rude, unfriendly, not very knowledgeable staff. Dirty, room in decrepit condition, no safe inside room, terrible and disappointing pool. Not a good stay, spend the extra few dollars to go somewhere else since you are in LA, don't let such a terrible hotel leave a bitter taste in your mouth during your trip!
It looked nice on website.. rooms were cleam We changed rooms due to no hot water.. then because the hot tub exploded.. water everywhere and all our clothes spaked
Pros: Loved the contemporary renovations. The hotel was super clean! The hallway always smelled amazing...I saw maids and maintenance staff always working the property. The location is superb for those that want to to go to Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre, Mall, Hollywood hills, etc. It literally is a 15 minute walk to all of these places. You will save time, money & get your exercise in! The beds were very comfy. The showers clean and modern. Room was plenty big for a couple. Micro & Fridge made it convenient for food. The little cool bar is nice for drinks. Staff very friendly. Loved the overall vibe. Cons: Definitely not a hotel for children! The area is a renovation of a small space, so no room for the kids to romp around. The pool is a very tiny square, so you will not enjoy a family pool experience here. The hotel has heavy traffic on Highland Ave, as you are in the heart of Hollywood, so plan accordingly. No complimentary breakfast. You can hear the noise that other guests make, so awakened by 5:00 am guests screaming.
The location is great walking distance to the Hollywood and highland shopping center. No car or uber needed You are in Hollywood so it was a fight in the hallway around 4am that woke me up.
Nice view from window. Walking distance to mall. Nice paint colors on walls. Cute room. No bathtub. Charged for parking. Thin walls. Hard beds.
The price was right. The state of disrepair was horrible! The walls AND the doors in the hallways were nicked and dirty. Same thing in the room. The room door and bathroom door had so many scuff marks, even my kids said something. We waited more than 10 minutes to check in because the front desk person was "somewhere in the back." The bartender tried to check us in but she didn't know how (and why should she.). All this was after we drove into the parking lot and saw and heard the front desk girl and the bartender gossiping using foul language. Very unprofessional!
Hotel room was clean. The walls are too thin. I had the experience of being woken up by an over arduous couple next door at 2.30am and this went on for around 4 hours. As we had just arrived from Australia, and a 15 hour plane trip this was not appreciated, nor was the noise coming from some women the next night that went outside on and off for 2 or more hours.
The Staff was excellent, very helpful and pleasant. Bathrooms could be updated.
Location Seems like they may have a problem with people entering he back door from the hills. A door alarm was going off one evening and they seem to shut down the elevator in the back for this reason as well which is a little concerning.
Great breakfast / location Parking expensive
Close to all attractions in Hollywood, good breakfast, very friendly staff and the luggage storage was a bonus
Our room was a little one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Clean and comfortable and quiet. The staff were all very nice & helpful. The location for Hollywood site-seeing is ideal--could not ask for better. Orchid is a quiet side street, but just a few steps away, Hollywood is loud & lively. No complaints!
Room size Laundry facility in car park Location Tiny tired bathroom Kitchen a bit tired Could only access wifi if we were standing at the door to our room which was a long way from the bed!
A convinient location. Easy for parking
location was really good no breakfast
Efficient staff very good room low price The swimming pool close at nine pm :-)
Centrally located Not enough parking! No breakfast!
good location. 10 minutes walk to Hollywood Blv. 2 minutes drive to I-10. So convinient for visitors. no breakfast included. internet is not as fast as i expected.
I had friends visiting from the UK that had never been to Southern California, so I booked them at this hotel. Location was ideal for tourists, and we took the Red Line down to the USC game, also ideal. The staff allowed me to keep my car in the parking lot for an extra 5-6 hours on the day of checkout, which I really appreciated. Next time I go to a show at Bowl, I might even stay there myself.
Location The sound of aircondition
Old. Dirty. Poor staff. Smelled really bad.
locations was awesome, parking was sort of tight, and the lights went out on the street our lastnight there ( I imagine that wasn't the hotels fault), but all in all, great location/hotel for weekend stay , close to everything
We were very happy with our one night stay here. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very comfortable. We had a refridgerator and a microwave too. The location is fantastic. There is a 24-hour Subway about a block away (in case you need late night food), as well as a Starbucks. There is a lot of traffic nearby but we didn't notice it much with our room door closed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. The parking spots are tiny (be careful if you have a larger size vehicle) and they did fill up by late night, so if you get there late you may not have many to choose from. They do charge $15 to park, but considering the loxation I didn't think that was too bad.
Location. Did not have a locker facility.
Hotel has some quirks. It is very easy to lock yourself out of the bathroom by inadvertantly pushing the lock button when exiting the bathroom. In addition the bedframes are made of hardwood and are very easy to walk into.
Parking is not included in stay. $32 a day.
Extremely friendly front desk staff who were helpful at all times. The valet manager was also extremely nice and always very pleasant. The rooms were clean and updated with a microwave and fridge. There was always coffee, drinks and a snack out by the front desk. A very nice hotel and reasonably priced for the location. Will definitely stay there again if ever in the area. There was a valet and fee to park each day ($32!) but since it's within walking distance to walk of fame I understand why they do it so tourists don't park there.
We enjoyed our stay very much. We were there to be on the Kelly and Michael show after the Oscars. The staff could not have been nicer our room was clean and comfy. I would like to give a shout out the the bartender (Chris). He was very friendly and helpful. We quite enjoyed our conversations with him. Can't think of a thing.
The attention from the employees Found a roach walking around the walls and a cricket in the bathroom
Next door to in and out burger, great breakfast, great location It smelled weird
newness of furniture, TV. Comfort of bed. Function of air-conditioning. parking. Smell in halls. size of room. price. general skank of the whole place. I understand that this is a high-demand area, and several features were done well, but for $150/night they could surely improve the dingy tired feel of the place. I travel a LOT and stay in 2-3 star national chains like Days Inn all the time. This one is over-priced and sub-par compared to others. If you're a family or group of friends/bros who are touring hollywood, then go for it. If not, you can find elsewhere in LA that's better for le$$.
The room was big and pretty clean. the bed was pretty confortable and the air conditioner worked fine. You get good value for what you pay. The elevator is pretty old. This is my second stay in the hotel, and last time a person got trapped in it. it should be overhauled or changed otherwise.
Location was convenient. Requested quiet end of rooms. Did not matter because walls thin and can hear people talking down hall.
Spacious room Noisy
Staff was very friendly. Location is good.
room was clean, basic, staff was OK but not informative. street noise at all hours of the day
The location was convenient to where I needed to go for the time I was there. There was nothing in the room to tell me about wifi, and I just never bothered to ask at the desk. Parking is very tight, but free. The motel is in a bad part of town. Several cars of homeless people camping out on the side street below my window. Lots of street noise and in the morning a s-load of trash strew about on the sidewalk. I just kept my shutters closed so I did not have to see. Rooms need new furniture, light fixtures and paint. Really looks run down. Pool area surrounded by bright orange fencing makes it appear to be a construction zone. Worth less than $100 a night for sure.
I liked location and generally it is cute hotel to stay. I would like the toilet and bath facilities to be cleaner. Some hair were found there when we arrived. Not so nice. Breakfast was good. But may be some variations in meal would be great.
Very helpful reception staff. Extremely reasonable for the centre of LA. Not in the best part of Sunset Boulevard, although it's fairly close (20 minutes walk) to the main tourist attractions. Breakfast is served in the lobby with nowhere to sit.
Very central to get to places of interest ie Hollywood Boulevard A bit of traffic noise as the hotel is on a busy road
Great location, the staff has been real friendly and helpful and the rooms are good.
Rooms and facilities were clean and well-kept. The pool at the center of the hotel looked inviting. Front desk staff was incredibly unfriendly (but that's just one person). The location of the room on a very busy and loud street was unfortunate - no sleep without earplugs, and you had to crank up the volume on the TV all the way just to hear over the street noise. I assume the rooms on the other side of the building are not as loud.
It was a very fine hotel for a few days of travel. The first room we were given had fresh stains on the mattress. When we called down, we were accused of "touching stuff." But were then given a nicer room, despite the absence of an apology.
Room was comfortable and clean, people were nice and helpful. Location was good if someone wants to to see Hollywood. The bathroom was rather tiny and the AC noisy
The Sahara is in an excellent location, offered many amenities and represented great value for money.
Overall 4night stay at LA Brea Inn was great would definitely stay again The room was clean but had a weird odor and parking is very hard to maneuver around.
I liked that it was right off Hollywood blvd, walking distance to D&B and other places to go out night we stayed Area was sketchy , people walking around looking like their on drugs
