Lovely spacious room, warm, Flat screen TV staff lovely and friendly
Work has started on building a 32 storey tower block next to the hotel. Rooms overlooking the building site are extremely noisy.
the hotel the centre of the city evry thing is good
The location, staff and size of room The rooms were too hot
central location It was extremely noisey!
We booked a suite but only got a room because they had over booked so was very disappointed about that
Good staff, nice hotel, fine location -
Being In the town centre
Good location, room and food! Wish there was a jacuzzi there!!
Smart, clean, good value, well placed
Convenient city centre hotel primarily a business hotel but no worse for that.
the privacy from the staff and the location was great th waiting around at reception beiong a bit slow
All round, excellent
Nice and clean, comfortable room with friendly staff. The bar prices. Wow! Must be part-owned by Ryanair.
Pleasant, spacious comfortable room. Convenient for ciry centre and only a £7 taxi ride from the Sheffield arena. Nice bar area. Good breakfast.
The rooms are lovely, staff friendly and helpful, and it was just a really great place to stay. I couldn't sleep because people were so noisy in the corridors! The guys I was travelling with also had this problem. I think it'd be helpful if we could have called reception to get something done about this, as I felt bad for asking the people to keep it down - but it was going on from 2 to 4 in the morning! This noise happened on all 3 nights that I stayed.
Good location ad view from window.

The aircon worked (it often doesnt); the bed was comfy and the room clean and big.
The staff were excellent, helpful and curtious. especialy a young man who dealt with us on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July 2008. Well done. the bathroom in the room was fairly basic for such a hotel. the curtains in the room were detached from the rod which is used to close them, the safety lock on the windows was broken and the window can be fully opened.
Hotel was clean and local to town centre Room was small
The complimentary wine, chocs, bath robes and slippers. Plus the gym facilities were amazing and the pool was lovely and warm. I felt very spoilt! The bar was very expensive! £13 for one glass of white wine!!!! The barman didn't tell us when we ordered, we just asked for a glass of white wine and then came the bill....Arggh felt a bit decieved: There were glasses on the wine menu cheaper than the one he offered.
The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and there was enough tea and coffee for more than one drink.
Told to check in at 3pm - no rooms available till 5.30pm - late fr our planned function.
The starter for the meal I had there was original and exceptionally tasty no
The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and staff was very friendly the bathroom needed refurbishing!!!
Friendly, professional and good value for money The price of a bottle of water. Can get a full breakfast with toast and tea in London for less!
The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The walls in the hotel are very thin, while staying there my partner and I could hear everything that was going on in the room next to ours, including business phone calls at 4 am.
the hotel staff were particularly helpful but wouldnt like to single anyone specifically. As I have only recently become a Hilton Honours member I will certainly be looking to use Hilton again with such efficient and welcoming staff. nothing particularly although the bathrooms would benefit from refurbishment with some mould and wear around the bath.
Bedroom view Very expensive breakfast. Two teas and two tomatoes on toast=£23
Convenient location to Chatsworth House, friendly staff and good food. Great views of open countryside.
Cozy rooms and lounge with comfortable couches. Excellent service. Poor quality food at high prices.
Very peaceful & pleasant spot, rooms superb & food excellent. Breakfast should have been included in the room price
I liked the hotels proximity to Chatsworth House and other places of interest. I found the hotel room draughty and a little cold.
The bathroom was very poor
Elegant but unstuffy country house hotel. Friendly efficient staff who were welcoming and helpful.
The hotel was Heaven: beautiful location, amazing staff, and excellent accommodations.
Friendly staff, excellent food No
The staff were all very helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was comfortable and very clean and all the hotel facilities were good. I would happily recommend the hotel to other people.
Friendliness of everyone we encountered Booking site had suggested it was very close to the arena - it wasn't
Check in was quick and fast.
The place was very clean and the rooms were large. A great place to stay and affordable.
room layout, cleanliness, smart appearance of hotel and overall pleasantness of staff Lack of availability of any food, including snacks after 11pm. We did no want room service. Lack of available seating in the lounge areas
Lovely room excellent breakfast, plenty of fresh fruit and the cooked breakfast was well cooked. Thermostat in room faulty(kept clicking all night) reported this in the morning though & reception staff said it would be attended to.
Friendly staff, brilliantly decorated, nice food. None
I loved our room, it was really plush with a kingsize bed, very comfortable. The only thing i didnt like was in the bathroom, they had a shower curtain which smelt stale, my sister also stayed in another room and had the same problem. They should look at changing the curtains.
Good location and extremely comfortable room. There was no minibar - nice to be able to have a bottle of water in the room without having to go through room service and particularly as its a 4 star hotel.
The size of the room was really good and the heated mirror in the bathroom was genius! I didnt find the bed too comfortable, my neck hurt the next day.
The comfort and size of the room. Also the quality of the fittings in the large bathroom.
Excellent rooms and location card machine didn't accept visa electron and doesn't have a cash machine
The staff were extremely helpful. The building was very impressive.
The room was nice Staff where not on the ball at all could have stood at the bar for half an hour with staff walking past and noone would come to serve you.
Efficient and friendly staff
hotel layout,accommodation,parking. Disorganised,breakfast a Faulty Towers experience
The bar is very nice The pressure to go into the bar before and after your meal
Comfortable beds Food Portions
all the staff and the food where very good.they made us all very welcome
Disabled bedroom/bathroom facilities excellent, very grateful for that. Cleanliness was excellent, too. The waitress in charge of the breakfast dining room was superb - friendly, helpful, and smiled when talking to you. Very good, the best employee we came across. Lack of customer-needs awareness in which additional training was indicated.
Room was cold. Also we were given a room without a bath.
Staff did their best to help Rather antiquated furnishings. Gloomy room, lit by low-wattage light-bulbs. Peeling paint in some areas. Window could not be closed.
The breakfast was substantial and wel presented and cooked. The boiler failed over night and there was no hot water in the morning.
Helpful staff. No hot water for shower or bath !! Dinner of average standard only Steep stairs to room. No lift .... would have been very difficult for disabled or elderly person
Staff were friendly, room was clean. We arrived late and were not sure where to park, we actually drove out of the car park as we thought it was private property.
The attitude of the staff was fantastic. Very polite and helpful. Bathroom radiator was too hot at night but not on at all in the morning.
Staff were very helpfuland it was convenient The food was OK but not of a high standard
Close to hospital
Good service,comfortable room.
The staff was very friendly and kind. The food was delicious! The wifi computer system was barely functional, despite the staff's best efforts (none was very familiar with its workings though). This turned out to be quite an inconvenience.
it was convenient and so close to the hospital...reason for my stay. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. I felt very much at home, although was along way from home. I live on the Isle of Wight. Keep up the good work. Nothing
Friendly helpful staff; excellent food; pleasant comfortable room and facilities; pleasant gardens Hard to find; directions inadequate and map poor.
The hotel was easy to find, the staff were inconspicuous but extremely polite and helpful. The room was immaculate, warm without being overpoweringly hot and the bed exceedingly comfortable. The breakfast was of very tasty and piping hot. I have nothing but praise for this hotel it was a delight and I would happily recommend it to my friends.
Great facilities. Very unfriendly, almost rude, check-in receptionist.
Excellent menu for dinner - food was fresh, well prepared and well presented. Room well appointed and comfortable. The room was in the annex - the restaurant/bar is in the main hotel and it was necessary to go outside in the ice and snow to access the main building.
Calm and tranquil environment. Lovely and quiet at night time. Beautiful new clean bathroom. Nice and warm in the room. Reception staff were not very welcoming. Limited selection of cereals and fruit for breakfast.
I have no complaints what so ever, the hotel was just amazing, the best i have ever stayed in and location brilliant. The most helpful staff ever. Highly recommended.
Everything was. Very good and the rooms and bed was excellent The bar prices were very high
The complimentary port in the rooms is a really nice touch, and breakfast was superb. When the fires were lit in the morning my room was filled with the smell of woodsmoke. Not what an asthmatic needs at that hour.
Restaurant, quiet, comfortable and excellent staff
My daughter would say the breakfast, I would say it suited us exactly for what we needed, to be within walking distance of the O2 arena in comfort, Thank you
the staff were lovely, and the bar food was lovely...at 1st u thing its expensive but the quality and portion size is well worth it...i had the chicken, bacon salad...was lovely even had croutons in it...wud defo stay again...
The staff were nicem friendly and helpful! The room was also very nice!
It was overall a good experience! Am not so sure if it will be helpful if the parking rules at NCP can be made more relaxed for the hotel guests or even as they are explained more fully to the guests on arrival! Other than that pretty good hotel!
the price of the rooms wich includes breakfast and the restaurant was very good the whole weekends entertainment which is why we stayed in shefield
Helpful staff Getting a little tired now - it needs a lick of paint here and there to bring it back to it's previous economical designer chic look
The size and cleanliness of the bedrooms The number of times needed to swipe the key card when trying to open the bedroom door
staff were very welcoming and helpful
The friendly reception staff
easy access to city centre N?A
Good price, good location, hot water and shower worked well, room warm, noise didn't bother me too much although I was on the 2nd floor. Wi-fi didn't work, breakfast started too late especially at the weekend when not available until 9am.
The location was very convenient and all stuff were very friendly The rooms was very dirty
The location, the friendly atmosphere The noise from the Pub on Monday night
checking out and leaving the building never to return ever again
They provided ear plugs for when the music downstairs got too loud and prevented sleep Breakfast wasn't being served until 9am and I had to leave at 8am and there was no leeway by the staff with times or even providing toast so I could have any breakfast.
Proximity to the University for my Daughter's graduation.
The breakfast and the friendly staff The lingering smell of cigarette smoke in the room as we had asked for non smoking.
Friendly, spacious, excellent food. Appreciated the honesty and warning about the possible noise from music venue but we had no problem No tea or coffee facility in room although we were able to go downstairs if we wanted any coffee.
Friendly staff, location of the hotel Sometimes too much noise from the bar until very late hours, ear plugs do not help much.
Friendly staff A bit noisy - but ear plugs provided!
Good value close to event ie ponds forge pool, staff helpful First evening noisy hen party in corridor at 12.45 and again later at 2am,also smoking in corridor and smell coming into room this I dont like as I dont wish my son to have to inhale secondary smoke
Nice room, clean, toilet/shower very clean No bath, menu a bit limited
Clean, great shower, great room, nice staff, attractive bar, easy to find None
Value for money and very handy for city centre Poor breakfast facilities ie: if you wanted just coffee and a coissant only , it still cost you as much as a carvery style meal. not everybody wants a "full .english style " .breakfast meal. cafe's aruond the corner will provide one though.
The shower cubicle was hugh and powerful. Towels and toilet paper were of very poor quality.
Room was comfortable and clean and close to the train staition, would recomend hotel to others.
Cheap, cheerful and relatively convenient. Not in the best part of the city, but you wouldn't expect that based on the brand and the price.
very friendly staff, and it is not noisy. no heater, only AC is inside, and breakfast over charged.
staff and clean near the tram which I used every day to have access to the university where I study no changes of sheets and towels every day
Room not adequately cleaned - carpet had not been efficiently vacuumed, stray human hairs on outside of bed. Breakfast whilst not expensive was of poor quality, especially cooked items.
As above I had printed off a map and directions to the hotel. Neither were very clear and it took me a while to find the hotel which was a little worrying as I was travelling on my own late in the evening.
Staff were very friendly and enthusiastic - even when one member of staff appeared to have been on duty all day (she was working when we went out in the morning and still working past midnight when we left the bar). It was dangerous walking up the ramp in the car park with bags as it was a blind corner and cars could travel both ways.
The staff where very welcoming, the place spotless, the room comfort excellent, and the breakfast was lovely. Nothing was unpleasant. Definately would stay again at this hotel. Keep up the good work.
The rooms were spacious There was no hot chocolate within the rooms with the tea and coffee!
The accomodation was good, the food was good and the staff were excellent. We had an enjoyable stay, though the reason for our visit was sad. There was no iron/ironing board, no fridge, no mini bar and no safe which I suppose is reflected in the price.
It was a reasonable price and good value for that.
It was nice and my wife also satisfied with your hotel. No any complaints.
High standard for a budget hotel; ggod access and parking; excellent staff; quiet room.
Spotlessly clean, friendly helpful staff, great breakfast. Plates not cleared away when finished certain parts of breakfast so major plate buildup!
staff were ver helpful and friandly
It was classy, cosy, comfortable, welcoming, friendly staff, good food, in a lovely location and much better than when we came before 10 years ago. I forgot to pack my husband's razor and although the staff found one for him, it was not good and he cut his finger on it.
The catering No
made to feel "at home" - relaxed atmosphere minor comment:- the wine list was not too impressive and the food, whilst excellent quality, reflected London prices for some items.
The staff were exceptional and friendly. The cleanliness of the room was not to a high standard with dusty bedside tables and ledges. The choice of TV stations was limited and there was no room service for food after 10pm
Very good breakfast. Would have preferred an a la carte menu for the evening meal
the resteraunt and food were outstanding the rooms, although comfortable were still alittle basic.
Nice clean room Room was a bit small -
Lovely, comfortable hotel. Young staff - very helpful and friendly. Hotel loung very homely and informal with settees throughout and a small bar. Bed and pillows lovely - soft and comfortable. Would definately staff here again - highly recommended.
Comfortable, clean bedroom. Lovely restaurant and lounge area with welcoming open fire. Fabulous breakfast! Good food in the restaurant but evening meal limited in choice and quite pricey. Busy main road but quiet enough at bedtime.
good size room free parking friendly staff breakfast very poor both service and quality
Not far from the Centre of Sheffield. A good example of Victorian architecture It was hard to locate. We rang reception & receptionist was very helpfull in giving us directions to the Hotel
Great value for money good car parking could not fault it and would certainly stay again
Good service, friendly staff, lovely function room. Slept well with blackout curtains.
Difficult to find
My husband and Son stayed here and enjoyed the lovely room inparticular such good value for money achieved by booking with booking.com
The possibility to take a bite in your bar, no need to go to the resturante.
Helpful staff. Location good for my purposes. Duvet too thin. Breakfast way overpriced, so I didn't eat there but got a much better breakfast elsewhere.
The Staff were very friendly and very helpful and the room was lovely
Beautiful hotel with a lot of period character that puts it above the new modern hotels. Staff didn't inform us on booking the room or checking in that there would be a disco on until 1am and it was below our bridal suite. Perhaps they weren't expecting us to want to go to sleep!
yes , its was overpriced , considering breakfast was not included, the room was not very nice, and the hotel was empty, so i dont see why they didnt upgrade us, we were the only guests...
