The location is rural within a forest and generally very quiet. We came here primarily to eat and therefore planned to stay overnight. The restaurant was well decorated and our 7 course "local taste" menu well prepared and nicely presented. I particularly liked the langoustine & short-rib dish, the Anjou pigeon and the dessert which was an odd but sweet and delicious combination of cucumber, wheat beer, kiwi & mint! Service was very good as was the accompanying wine flight. The wine list had a good mixture of wines by the glass, reasonably price wines (always good to fine in a Michelin starred restaurant) and some notable vineyards/wines represented too.
Our welcome could have been better and offer of help with our bags would have been appreciated. The bedroom although very clean was quite dark and only had two small windows which one could open (above the bed and in the bathroom). I can imagine these rooms might well become too hot & stuffy on a warm summer night.
The location to the Canadian Soldiers Cemetery was perfect! It was also close to trails, the Nature Museum and close to town and it was very quiet! We made the mistake of going to town for breakfast the first morning - the hotel breakfast was great! And everything was on ground level.
The only complaint we had was that we had trouble with the TV in the room, but they sent someone immediately to fix it! The prices for dinner were very high so we ate dinner at other restaurants.
The property was perfect in every way. The food was beyond excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, the room was clean, comfortable and quiet
Beautiful countryside setting, pretty hotel with outstanding dining room though quite pricey. Definitely for Foodies rather than "steak and chips". Breakfast was equally lovely and the staff were delightful. My spacious room was in an annexe - a 1 minute walk across the terrace.
Nothing. All excellent.
The staff were excellent. The meals were beyond excellent very unique and of high-quality and flavor. It was very close to the Canadian WWII cemetery when we visited a family member lost in the war
Periodically I could not get Wi-Fi in the room. It was always available in the main building
