beautiful setting & lovely rooms, furnished to the highest standard
pleasant and friendly staff, clean and cosy room with amazing views
The ambience of the bar / lounge area. There was no where to relax after dinner as all areas were taken over by tables. Because of the wooden floors, it is noisy if you are located on teh ground floor. Carpets in the upstairs rooms would help.
Very friendly staff and good food. Lovely location. The room we were initially shown to had not been cleaned or made up. However, we were immediately upgraded to an executive room as recompense, so no real complaint there.
Only issue was the the internet was down for the first 2 days. We booked here specifically for this as we work while travelling and this was a problem for us.
We enjoyed the food and the rooms and thecountryarea, we weren't too impressed with the narrow roads for our big rental car. All told we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Friendliness, excellent food and superb surroundings.
The staff, the setting, the meals were all excellent. Nice to have my dog able to join us in the hotel. I have no faults to find at all with the hotel
Very pleasant surroundings. Nice food, comfortable clean room No, except that its a little confusing when you arrive to know where to find the reception area. We were charged for someone else's meals and stay instead of our own, however this rectified speedily oncec it was pointed out.
The rooms were lovely; really well decorated and very clean The complimentary breakfast was not very generous
The hotel was in the centre, good food, great staff, And next time we go back to chester we are going right back to the pied bull
friendly staff we had lunch there and was very good breakfast was poor , and we had to wait 30 minutes to be served
a lovely traditional pub, and the staff were all very friendly - the food in the restaurant was excellent. The room was a bit lopsided but to be honest it added to the charm of the place so we actually quite liked it.
the location and the shower the missing remote, the lack of hairdryer and shocking breakfast.
old world charm. we booked the 4 poster room which was very good. food was only ok. could have been better.
The atmosphere in the public bar and the cleanliness of the room the mattresses were very uncomfortable, we had to use the bed covers to stop the springs attacking us!
Evening food value, and good rage of Real Ales Poor service at breakfast.
City center location is ideal for shops, bars, restaurants. Street noise at night (we stayed on a Friday night). Breakfast was extremely slow - 30-40 minutes wait time. Corners of the bathroom floor looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for many years. Cleaner knocked on our room door in spite of 'do not disturb' sign.
The staff were fantastic especially Luke the manage,r food was excellent, the beds very comfortable had a great time and will go back soon No it was fantastic
The central location and the "Old World Charm" - very charming and very atmospheric. Also staff were friendly, helpful and service was extremely quick. Breakfast was good and freshly made. Facilities were clean and comfortable. Our room was over the public bar and was a bit noisy - luckily we didn't stay on the Karaoke night! Beer deliveries started quite early (but to be fair much what you'd expect staying in a very old but lively city centre pub).
We stayed a couple of nights, arrived as strangers left as friends as we were made so welcome. It is an 18th Century Coaching Inn so it is not luxurious but everything we nedded was there. It is the village Pub and the locals are so friendly. We laughed the whole time we were there and nothing was too much trouble for our Hosts. Will definitely be going back. No
