We likes the hospitallity very much. Breakfast was ok, not very diverse, but ok.
The owner and staff were friendly and helpful and the evening meal was very good and not expensive. Although the actual bedroom we stayed in was fine the toilet and washing facilities were very cramped and there was no TV in the room ( there is a TV lounge). The breakfast was not buffet style.
Excellent wecome, brochures of local attractions given as I booked in.Very good English speakers and interested in learning about the UK Closed on Tuesday, but not informed until Tuesday morning so I had to make alternative arrangments for evening meal.
Nice, clean room. Very friendly staff, English speakers. The best Schnitzel I've ever had! Lovely, quiet countryside location, aprox 15km from Trier, Germany's oldest town. Nothing that we did not like, really, only that there was no TV set in our room.
This is the one! Full of charm in beautiful and peaceful surroundings ! Extremely attentive and friendly English speaking hosts. Absolutely superior quality home style meals at very reasonable prices. Hotel is next to miles of beautiful trails meandering through forests and a lake. Pet Friendly! Only 28 minutes from Trier.
Warm welcome, cosy atmosphere of the dining room and bar, quality and price of the food.
The clean sheet of the bed made the night sleep comfortable. Even though European breakfast was a bit too small, it was warmly and politely served by the staff. The hotel building was rather old with old style facilities and is far from the city. (However, we enjoyed the seneries while drving back to the city)
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The people were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us with our journey further. One outstanding feature was the exceptional quality of the food. It was country food at its very best. We all really enjoyed it. The Blignauts
Quiet location. Owners / Staff speak good English. Hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. It is a 2 star hotel. We'd been staying at 3 and 4 star hotels the rest of our trip so the room just wasn't as nice as others. -- Not really a complaint, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
staff is very friendry and helpful, very good cost performance. I wanna stay this hotel again, if I visit in trier.
Excellent Hotel in heart of city. Good for shops, restaurants and Roman sites. Breakfast vast and lovely. Spa good. Staff very good and speak different languages. Cark park next door and easy to find with GPS.
Breakfast The bathroom was rather small and not 4*. I wonder what was superior about this room? It wasn't any larger than any others, the bathroom ws tiny!
Great location in the heart of the walk platz.
The comfort, breakfast and location.
the lack of internet facilities in the room brings down the standing of the hotel
Extremely good location in relationship to the town centre The hotel was more geared to business travelers tan to tourists
Although the room we booked ended up being a twin, the management upgraded us to a suite with a king size bed for a small increase in rate. All standard/superior rooms are twin beds.
great service, nice rooms airco wasn't working properly
Very central location!
This hotel is very attractive and very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with many selections, both hot and cold. The staff was extremely helpful in every way. I can highly recommend this hotel.
Breakfast ++++++ quiet room +++++++ staff +++++ service ++++ None
Very comfortable well appointed hotel. The staff were excellent, very friendly and also very efficient Nothing
Very nice and clean Hotel, Friendly staff and nearby City center
Helpful staff at reception. Excellent breakfast choice.Quiet room Poor lift service, Location of lift did not service our floor, resulting in having to carry suitcases up/down stair case.
Friendly reception and well equipped room, which is very clean. Nothing
Convenient location with a 15 minute walk to the town centre, comfortable room, friendly staff and good menu at reasonable prices. No
The microbrewery that was part of the hotel. Helpful staff. It was further from the town than anticipted from the web page but we found a good path trhough local allotments that made it a pleasant walk.
Indoor swimming pool and infrared cabin for free, inhouse micro-brewery, good breakfast included, own parking facilities. Food in "Brausaal" restaurant after 22.00 hours not recommended: limited choice and preparation could be better (soup ultra-hot, baked patatoes almost burned, etc.); no separate toileteries supplied (only liquid soap).
Spacey room. Friendly staff. Nice (bier)garten with hotel's own beer and good food to relax after hot days in German Rally. We had the package containing welcome drink, one full mean and a decent bottle of beer on the road. Well worth of the extra. It is a bit too far from the center to just take a casual walk.
We were very impressed with the facilities, staff and food at this Hotel. We were happy to walk to and from the City although a bus does stop right outside the hotel. Would stay here again! None
Very conveneient location just on the outskirts of Trier with convenient parking and an easy bus-ride in to the city.
Excellent service from all the Staff, and of great help in providing assistance.
They were very friendly and ready to answer any questions we had about getting around in town.
just far enough out of town centre
I had asked for on booking, and was given, a quiet room. Because the hotel is on a busy street, I think this is important to specify. Good wi-fi access in my room for a reasonable charge (€2 for the duration of my stay).
Room was very comfortable Room may have been too hot
Free parking. Within walking distance to all the sights and museum. The triple room had three single beds which was great for our three sons instead of a double and a single. Reception staff were extremely helpful.
The Sauna was a very positive experience. The location is also just a 10 minute walk from the city square. Our room was on the front (road side) of the hotel so it was a little noisey at night due to drunk people on the street in the weekend. (we had the window open) The room was also a bit humid. (no airco in the room) but this would not stop us from visiting again.
Very helpful staff booked concert tickets for us, and the restaurant served very good food
very nice and efficient traditional city hotel nithing , really
good breakfast. Friendly, English-speaking staff all around. Good local parking at hotel. Easy in and out. a 20 minute walk to Porta Nigra, but only 5 minutes to Kaiserthermen; this wasn't entirely clear when booking, but turned out OK.
I found the staff very polite and helpful, the premises where very clean and your morning breakfast offered a great varity of fresh and tasty food.
Location, Freindly staff.
Its location, friendly staff and very good food. No
New facilities, well equipped rooms. New pool & sauna. Helpful & friendly staff and a good breakfast. Poor location for visiting the city centre; long walk across busy roads. Didn't quite seem 4 star, dining room was not attractive. Rather limited parking facilities.
The location, the atmosphere, but especially the kindness and care of the personnel No
The jaccuzi was fabulous. The staff very friendly and helpful. The most comfortable bed. The parking was very cramped.
Sauna+swimming pool were very nice. Tapping noise of heating radiator in room during the first night (although it was solved after complaining at the desk); bathrobes not in room; slippers had to be paid for.
Excellent service, friendly helpful staff. Sound of passing trains- lack of soft pillows on bed
The location is excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite substantial and particularly the sauna, steam room and swimming pool are marvelous. We stayed for a few nights and enjoyed watching the sunset from the sauna!! The pillows were too soft and the bed wasn't very comfortable, it was just ok.
It's really lovely and cosy hotel. Ewverything is very clean. Breakfast buffet is very various and the staff is very kind and helpful.
Beautiful hotel, great spa facilities, awesome breakfast, staff is very helpful and friendly. Amazing city views from rooms. They don't have enough parking for all guests, and there is not alot of street parkingnearby either.
Everything was excellent
Friendly and helpful staff. Good pool and sitting area. Comfortable room and facilities.
There was not a single thing we didn't like. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The staff were exceptional, the facilities outstanding and I just can't say enough good things about this hotel and the people who work there.
The convenience to the city
The location and view were spectacular! The beds were a little hard. Otherwise, the rooms were perfect!
location near the city
the location is perfect, and we had a real feel at home feeling no remarks
Cleanliness of the hotel, staff and facilities were good and across the road from the main square.
The view was great and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I loved everything nothing bad to report.
Good location The all-pervasive smell of smoke: lobby, elevators, restaurant, corridors, room (supposedly non-smoking). Hotel needs to be fumigated.
A very nice hotel located at the historic gate of the ancient city.
The view looking onto Porta Nigra.
The location and the fact that the staff were just lovely, in particular when I hurt my foot and they supplies endless ice and support The cost of breakfast but outside of this it was excellent. You could not pick a better spot to enjoy the city, day or night.
This hotel was wonderful!
There was poor reception, simply there was no one ore they where in the back and not giving attention to someone at the bar ore desk
a lot of space in the room.
Room decor, professional staff, amenities Room was set up for two, and not three people, as was reserved. Prices for mini bar were a bit pricey. Charge for parking is unusual.
It was comfortable with seating outside so that the children could play outside. The car park was too low for my car to fit in, even though I had paid for the use of the car park.
Not enough towels, Plumbing problems, but taken care of.
Location is a bit far from downtown than expected while the accomodation fee is not so much economical and the breakfast is rather expensive.
very good breakfast poor quality of the bed, especially the pillows
Lots of space in our "studio" room, with a sitting room as well as a bedroom. Very good parking under the hotel. The third person in our triple room had only a truckle bed, not comfortable. Service at dinner very slow.
friendly, helpful and efficient staff, good breakfast, wifi in room, good temperature control no extra pillow in the room, slightly longish walk if your purpose is the city centre (but taxis quick and cheap)
Great location short walk to the city center and very nice and helpful staff. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Garage was a little hard to get out of with an American SUV.
Friendly welcoming staff; quiet location fairly close to city; cleanliness; good food Bedroom looking 'tired' - could do with a makeover
The spa, breakfast, restaurant and location
Nice spa area, friendly staff, good accessible by car, It's a bit out of town center
value large amount of construction on front of building/next building March 2007
Easy to find, free parking, friendly staff, quiet rooms. small shower cubicle.
Location was amazing, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, I felt at home immediately.
everything, once we found it!
location and the food you can't pay with travellers checks
Room was good, staff very helpful when we needed somewhere secure to leave our bikes. We had our evening meals at the hotel, just need to be aware that the menu in the 'proper' restaurant is slightly different to that in the bar.
The location and rate.
The whole experience was excellent. Staff, comfort, food, service, pool, value. Everything
Overall quality of the hotel. The room provided was a suite with full separate lounge Breakfast and room service food is totally German. No concessions to visotors from other countries. OK if you like liver, or potatoes with sour cream.
Restaurant was A1 top rated. The rooms were nice and clean. The STAFF was awesome...went out of their way to help. The staff Spoke english very well. would stay again. The bus stop was 25 meters from the hotel which went into town in 5 min...a nice walk if your into fitness. location, way from downtown. But it was ok to walk 1.3 miles (not KM). not a reason not to stay
We have been staying in the hotel before and we returned for the good food and the ambiance of the hotel. Very warm and romantic. The beds are a bit too soft.
Very 'old-German' in style but the rooms are large and well fitted. Even a single room has a lounge attached. No
The rustic atmosphere Distance from city center
Traditional German quality and style
Staff was very good, and the restaurant super !
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The massages and turkish baths were fantastic too. No air-conditioning which ment you had to open the windows. The busy roads and noisy cars woke us up early every morning.
Nice location and very good food and wines in the restaurant.
Excellent dinner and very helpful servers in translating the menu for us. Vitalis, the wellness center, it open to the public which makes the facilities crowded.
Only 1 hour drive (car) from my hometown no
Friendly staaf, Food was nice
breakfast, pool in the house, superb child-pool-area, playground and play-room, free of charge baby-cot, nice surroundings for walking, ...we're coming back!
relaxed and very welcoming
Hospitality of staff, excellent kitchen, calm location
There was a very beautiful park near the hotel and also a good swimming hall. The bathroom had a bad smell and the double bed was narrow.
Nice hotel; but no safe or minibar in rooms (even in extra confort)
The dilicious Kokoscream soup
This is an excellent and modern hotel in a good location at a most reasonable price.
The staff were all very helpful. I found that the whole experiance was better than your guest reviews reflected, We will be returning with a larger party for next years Christmas Market!
Comfortable room with modern decor and large flat screen TV. Very helpful and welcoming reception staff. Secure hotel parking and well located adjacent to the Altstadt. Very good breakfast if a little pricey.
It was located right at one end of the Old City which made it very convenient to go out frequently without the hassle of transportation.
Hotel staff is very friendly. None
The hotel is good, the reception floor being very nicely renovated and decorated. The rooms are quite spacious. The receptionist lady gave us a twin bed room although we booked and wanted a double bed room. We went back to her and she answered us that all the double bed rooms are occupied. Maybe booking.com should clearly make these options more clear at the booking, as it is not the first time when I assume that I will receive a double bed room and the room has twin beds instead of a large one. // We haven't taken the breakfast for 15 euro/pers. and had a very good one in the main square at "Zur Steipe" (10 euro/pers).
Friendly reception, nice room and excellent location, close to city center. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast
Comfortable size of the room and excellent breakfast. Not an easy walking distance from/to main station.
Breakfast was good and provided a gluten free menu items.
Great in-town location adjacent to many shopping, dining and sightseeing opportunities. Pool and foosball table in lobby. No air conditioning in the guest rooms made sleeping difficult.
Parking so close by.
clean, friendly, helpful and value for money needs up date in one or two places but nothing dramatic
The breakfast was good and the hosts were very kind. I complained the noise because a big party was held till late night. Ths host gave me a bottle of Mossel wine. Thank you. The room has to be more clean.
Very helpful staff, excellent food without being "over the top", lovely rooms. Nothing
The room was spacious and included mini kitchenette facilities which made it very comfortable and easy to stay with children. The staff were friendly and made sure we were comfortable and knew what was available in the area No complaints. Its about 30 minutes walking into the city center. If you are not bothered by walking (or your children), this works out fine. The hotel was in a quiet less busy area as a result.
We were pleasantly surprised that we had been given a modern suite rather than a bedroom. The facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We especially enjoyed our rooms, they were both facing the Mosel River and the old Roman Bridge. We could watch the river traffic and the water fowl that stayed on the river bank beneath our windows. It was fun and really a great setting, we felt very fortunate. We also enjoyed the Romerbrucke's dining room. The meals were exceptional, some of the very best during our entire stay in Germany! If you should stay there and eat in the dining room and like fish, order the Baked Salmon. We rented two rooms, both faced the Mosel River and The old Roman Bridge. Our rooms could not have had better views. The dining experience was superb, we enjoyed excellent meals in an attractive setting. We also appreciated the elevator. We all three enjoyed our stay and have no complaints.
kind stuff, very good breakfast , 10 min to city and even internet although it was said it is not provided
Location and breakfast were good. Our room faced the street, which was noisy. If we closed the window, however, it was rather hot.
Location,right on the river none
Staff were very friendly and the room was large with plent of space. Clean and bright, no real view. However, the restaurant had a lovely view over the river and an easy walk to the town centre. The parking was across the road in an open air area and although there was no problem it did not seem very secure.
The room was large and bright with a pleasant outlook across the river and breakfast was excellent - would return if back in Trier
Good size room
Not in busy area - but within walking distance to center. Hotel staff was excellent
Clean and tidy, large rooms, easy walking distance to city centre (if the weather is dry) parking across the road from Hotel, good variety for breakfast The Hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays!, a little pricey for a 3* hotel, shower cubicle grubby
Nice hotel in a nice area, perfect for visiting Trier. The city is only 10 minutes drive away but the hotel is in a different world surrounded by vineyards on the hills. The restaurants kitchen is excellent just like their own wines they serve with the food. I will return for sure.
Pleasant location, exceptionally clean and pleasant decent sized room with balcony overlooking valley. Very good, well stocked buffet breakfast. We visited the "wellness centre" upon two occasions but the steam bath was not working and no water in the jacuzzi and no staff on duty at either time to help. Spoke to reception who were very "matter of fact" and not really helpful.
Was a scenic location. Limited English. Seemed more focus on other items and not so much on hotel guests.
Though tucked away this hotel is one of the best hotels of the many that we have stayed in in Germany over a number of years.Room size and comfort excellent. Breakfast very generous with a good choice. Good quality typical dinner and good value.
Relaxed atmosphere. Good staff who responded very well to requests. Good value.
We pretty much liked everything about this hotel. Due to an error in the booking our junior suite was not available. We were upgraded to the house suite which was very beautiful. The dinner was very good and the Weingut's own wine served with it was excellent. Good price/quality No
Very little; pretty average in all aspects Dated room which - at least in our situation - was not really clean. Overpriced!
Excellent rooms and restaurant, Friendly staff and good value for money.
Staffs are kind. Free parking lot. The room is rather hot, and I coulnd't find the air-conditioning system.
Perfect! More than we expected to find in a Hotel, the location, the food, the excelent attention of the staff, very nice experience, I will defenitely recomend it. They gave us information about the soroundings, what to do, we rent bikes with them which was a very funny experience. Thank you for everything.
Location in the middle of a Forest Nature area, easy access to some major cities in Germany, France, Luxembourg and Belgium. The staff extremely friendly and helpful, large and very clean with a nice balcony, recently renovated to a high standard with nice touches and decor. Pleasant swimming pool, Excellent buffet breeakfast and a la carte restaurant (the chef prepared a meal after closing time when we arrived late) Pool temperature a little cool, but then it is off season and very few guests utilising so can be forgiven for not wasting heating.
the quietness of the hotel itself, its immaculateness and clean architectural lines (it was a pleasure to ride in the modern glass lift, the corridors were simply and tastefully designed, the showers -- as a previous hotel guest said -- were superb). The staff were friendly and helpful. i had to keep my window shut at night (not my usual habit) to keep out the occasional noise of loud passersby on Fleischstrasse throughout the night. I understand that rooms facing the inner courtyard would not have this problem -- but they are all double (and i booked a single)
This place was clean, somewhat new, and the staff was professional and courteous. The breakfast was very nice too. Good value for the money.
Very nice hotel staff, hotel is located in the city center, elevator, underground parking, a beautiful dining room, a varied breakfast with a large selection, hotel highly recommended.
In the ttown centre. Public car park approx 200 yds away approx 10 euros per 24 hrs. Arrived on the Thursday as planned and booked last November 2007, the hotel , was not aware of our Booking !!! We were allocated a room for two nights and moved for the third .
Central location - parking facilities - staff very efficient - very modern room
Very good location for site see of Trier. Great parking in the city. Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Will recommend and would stay again. Our room as right next to the receiption desk and was a little noisy from people checking in and out. When I opened my door people in the lobby could look into my room and see the bed and anyone in it.
Central place in the city
being in the town centre but having parking available at reasonable cost. Rooms and whole hotel finished to good quality fittings, beds, bathroom etc. Could possibly be a little noisy at night if you stay in a warm season and want to open the window. Closed in cold weather it was not a problem. Would have liked to be able to get a hot drink in the hotel, but this is not available except at breakfast time.
Excellent location, easy cheap parking, very clean and comfortable, great breakfast Nothing, it was lovely
