the polite and friendly attitude of the staff and food nothing
Being in the centre of the city was great. Car parking good. Great atmosphere in the hotel, very relaxing stay. Tea and coffe making facilities in the room would have been a nice touch.
Convenience to where we needed to visit and the very friendly staff
The room was great value for money Need tea & coffe making facilities in your rooms. Also an iron and ironing board!
The location, free parking and the breakfast was very good. The title "deluxe" in the booking isn't required.
Great location within the town and hi quality food and wine.
food - good value for money trouble with the TV/movies
Felt like luxury hotel although mid-priced, close to train station with good signage between station and hotel, staff helpful, excellent breakfast. TV Internet very bad, keyboard painfully slow, subsequent charges hidden. This was the only bad thing about my stay. Do not use TV Internet! Use the city library terminals instead.
The position was superb (but then we were acquainted with the area). Easy to get to, easy to park, we liked the setup. Breakfast was very good too with a wide and plentiful choice ranging from fried food to fruit. Large foyer with plenty of seating too... I think a lot of people have criticised the lack of coffee/tea facilities in the rooms. We actually took our own along so that we could have a bedtime cuppa! Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
excellent decor and peaceful
Nice rooms, very clean. The hotel is in the very centre of Roermond. Maybe just a little bit noisy.
Ambience and close to train station. The rooms had little ventilation. Not all windows opened up. No internet service. Food was okay.
Easy to find next to station, good reasonably priced restaurant - open Sunday . Excellent gay friendly staff. Parking free.
hotel staff were helpful & fine the way to reach my room
Great staff. The location is perfect...close but not in the middle of the action. We stayed 10 days and didn't want to leave. I would have liked free internet access. Also, I was concerned about the door between the rooms and restaurant being locked at night. If I had been advised upon arrival rather than finding out when I tried to leave early one morning, I would not have been so startled.
The character of the dining area and the helpful & friendly staff. No tea & coffee facilities in the room.
Location to station
The Hotel is located in a perfect position right in front of the station and the room was pretty comfortable. We booked a three bed-room and got a spacious four bed-rooom. As it was a Saturday night, it was a bit noisy in the square just before the Hotel.
facilities, breakfast entrance to the hotel was separate from the official building, breakfast and registration desk.
Breakfast was ok. Room was not in the hotel, but in a separate building across a road and a square. Basic backpacker quality room in a building without any facilities. Worth about half the price charged, and certainly should have been less than a room in the main hotel building
Made very welcome, even though arriving early. Restaurant very good. Staff very helpful. Junior suite was very comfortable. Disappointed that Wifi was not available in the junior suite. This should be available in all rooms in a hotel of this standard.
The accommodation was very comfortable and well equiped. The garden restaurant was lovely. An enjoyable experiance being able to eat alfresco.
Relaxing, lovely garden and room. Away from the town. Friendly staff. Good dutch food
The size and the facilities in the room The walls of the bathroom were not cleaned, even after I had written "clean me" on them! The Restaurant service was slow; I had to go into the kitchen to get the waitress after waiting 15 minutes to order! The bedroom block is 100m from the Hotel facilities.
This is my second visit to this hotel for the reason I enjoyed my first visit so much
Friendly staff, cleanliness and comfort, we enjoyed this hotel very much N/A
This is now the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel, and each time we are made to feel welcome and valued. We stay here when we visit our children.
The staff were very helpful and arranged an appointment at the Vets to get our dog's Pet Passport stamped.
Wanted a place to spread out and relax. It was perfect.
This is a very good hotel a little out of the way but well worth finding I only stayed for one night but would have liked to have stayed longer service and staff are exhalant
Smallest castle in the Netherlands, beautiful and stylish. Good bedding. Spacious bathroom. Ipod/iphone dock. Free wireless WIFI. Gourmand dinner. Good breakfast. Reel value for money. Friendly staff with attitude to serve.
The hotel was in a lovely location and easy to find. The suite was very minimalistic, all dark colours and a cold atmosphere. paint was pealing from windows and there were cobwebs on the ceiling. The toilet was seperate from the bathroom in what can only be described as a broom cupboard. After using the toilet you then had to go to the bathroom to wash your hands.
Perfect location, ten minutes from lovely town of Roermond and yet set in a park, quiet, rooms luxurious and the owners very helpful and friendly
All round good experience
- large room, good food - thin towels
For us was a perfect combination of a very nice room with a wonderful meal, we can only say good things about our stay in the hotel.
Friendly and homely athmosphere
excellent service,clean and friendly staff.
good service, location close to a forest (quite rare in NL) Restaurant might be better. The whole place looks like retirement home (style, colors, everything).
nice stuff, good breakfast Could you install japanese fants into the web computer.
friendly staff, close proximity to walks and Roermond, good breakfast n/a
Quite simply? It was a pleasure to come back too. 1/ Bathroom lighting too dark. 2/ Base of beds are very tatty.
I think it is a nice and good hotel I would like to use another time,
Large, bright airy, room. Good restaurant. Friendly staff
Staff efficient, food good, rooms clean, excellent location - maybe A/C could be added we had a very warm few days there - A/C would have been very useful.
it is quit hotel for taking rest no it is very good hotel
good environment no internet access(out of order)
Quiet and well-located in the quaint village of Thorn. This hotel is in an old building but needs smartening up and modernising.
Wonderful location lovely hotel, very welcoming. Added bonus was a bath!! The breakfast was excellent and the coffee superb. lack of tea and coffee facilities in room.
The staff is quite accommodating and friendly. That is the real strength of this hotel. No air-conditioning
Friendly Staff Nearby Disco (not belonging to Hotel)
Nice people Very old bathroom. Cold shower. At 9.15 hrs there were only a few things at the breakfast buffet
rooms are small.
Cleanliness of hotel - very nice building The room was old fashioned
The hotel and its staff were friendly and pleasant. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the facilities sufficient. It offered excellent value for money. It was not possible to check in after 11pm and this was not clear from the booking information. As we were traveeling across Europe to get to the hotel this would have been useful information.
Comfortable, good Wifi access. Poor lighting.
Nice staf Cold shower, bath room very poor. Very noisy.
Ramarkably clean, well built small building with just six rooms. Nice surroundings, easy access to Roermond and riverside beaches etc.
Very nice small hotel. In the room was warm (outside was very cold, urgh)
Friendlyness of the host
Friendly and obliging host, his knowledge of the area, and keeness to help out us part time cyclists.
The friendliness and excellent hospitality of the owners, saying nothing of their local knowledge and suggestions on where to go and what to do. Would have been nice to be able to sit inside the property, in let's say a comfortable lounge or sitting room area, especially when the weather wasn't so good ! Other than that, the facilities were excellent.
pleasant staff, nice accomodation, quiot surrounding it is not close to main roads
friendly family no soap or shampoo in shower room
Clean, quiet, well modernised guest house with very friendly owners. Lots of activities either on site (walks, bike hire) or nearby (kayaking and canoeing on the nearby river. Lunch and dinner available as an optional extra if required. The whole building was non smoking. Fantastic garden to relax in. None.
The staff was very nice, the room was clean, the price was reasonable and breakfast was not bad. It is a little far from Roermond, and the way to the hotel is not so obvious.
Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Lovely place. In short: everything
Fine and little hotel, nice staff, very good breakfast.
My sister and I were visiting from Australia and most relatives live in the area so location was very important. No access to telephone, we would consider this a motel or bed and breakfast as nobody was in attendance during the day except in the morning.
Cleanliness & spaciousness of room. Good breakfast Scruffy entrance. No reception.
Nice Breakfast and Nice Price. The room size is too small for simple double room.
The location; the friendly staff. It would have been good to have had somewhere to sit in the evenings rather than being in the bedroom. The breakfast bread/rolls were variable in quality.
the rooms are really small, but clean and nice, the hotel has a great restaurant and a very tasty breakfast.
Convenient for Roermond. Breakfast ok. Nothing else to . Front door not used. Back door open 24/7 (security?) On arrival key on hook on chalkboard. No staff. Had to call owner using UK mobile to find out if late return possible (yes - never locked). My booking said Room 1, double bed. Deluxe bathroom with shower. I got room 12. 2 single beds. Attic room up 2 flights stairs too steep to carry a suitcase. Asked about this at breakfast. Informed it was my mistake.Guess what..room 1 and 12 same price. Nonsense.
Sleep / Eat
The key was ready to be taken, eventhough there was no body at the reception.
Excellent staff . good menu for non meat eater , local limburgs menu v - good .
The owner, who was outside the hotel, actually recognised us on arrival by our car registration and waved us down so that he could direct us to their private parking area. Our room was very clean, the bed particularly comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. No complaints at all here.
The location in the historic village of Thorn is very central and the restaurant in the hotel was good no
The location of the hotel is perfect having dinner looking out at the Abbey. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great Breakfast included No
A lovely hotel in the beautiful village of Thorn. We had a lovely one night stay and enjoyed the ambience of this lovely hotel and its location right opposite the Abbey. Lovely breakfast provided in the morning and we also enjoyed a delicious meal from their restaurant.
The friendliness of the staff made me feel like I was at home although I was really a very long way from home N/A
Charming, quiet, plesant, quaint hotel right across from the main attraction in the town. The room was COLD and the manager didn't seem to want to or was not able to turn on the heat until 8 AM the following morning. Complaints met with no response and disdain.
A well kept hotel with a good breakfast. The parking is not at the hotel but located some 40metres away.
kitchen closes at 8pm, rooms smell of sewage and are cold!
Big 'Al' was a nice chap who welcomed us on arrival and directed us to the car parking. He arrange for our 'early' breakfast with no drama. The village is lovely. They do not accept American Express which is our corporate standard card.
Too poor breakfast
Clean bed, hot shower, good breakfast, Very small room
Nice people, good service, very clean City is very quiet
Dinner is good. Breakfast is ok. Rooms are small, without airco and situated under the roof. These summer in 2010 was extremely hot(35")
Room comfortable, wifi avaiable in bar Church next door chimes on the hour/half hour every hour
