The setting was beatifull and the cabins were of a high quality The cabaret entertainment seemed to be geared towards families with children
warm in lodge, staff in hotel, spacious in lodge, very clean no heat in bathroom, no entertainment on a sat evening
Room excellant, staff very friendly, food very good. More choice for breakfast, full english good, but would have liked to have fruit in the morning for a choice.
Room and views were excellent clean and had amazing views The shower was underpowered had my head on the soap dish wasing my hair !
Very friendley staff, wonderful meals, lovely room
Situation of hotel excellant with lovely views and close proximity to railway station.Stayed in Lakeland room which had both front and side view of bay. Intended to eat in only 1 night and try the other pub in village however food so good and excellant value had dinner both nights of our stay.Stayed midweek therefore no problem with loud music as reported on Sat nights.(live bands) None for us but note they have live bands Sat nights (may be good or bad depending on your point of view) No lift so if this problem ask not to be on top floor (did not bother us).
E xtremley friendly staff good location the food was quite good None that we can think of
The staff were friendly, shown up to room, clean and comfortable, nice touches, china mugs, bottled water, bath robes Lovely view across the estuary. Very good food.
room was very comfortable and clean with excellent views over the estuary.breakfst was fantastic and food available in the bar of an evening was also very good.staff were very friendly and helpful. hotel in good location for the few sops and other pub,all within walking distance so i didnt need to use the car.there is also a good train service along the coast to all the other towns.
Lovely location, very comfortable room and lovely food both in restaurant and at breakfast
We had a very pleasant stay. Rooms were very nice and kept spot on. Food was very good value, and we could start the day with a hearty breakfast. The entertainment on the Saturday night was a pleasant surprise. We would stay there again.
The view from the room was fantastic and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly Despite staying in a deluxe room, it was quite small and as it was at the top of the building, it was cold, although we were provided with a heater, which was on a lot of the time!
Very warm welcome from the owner and hot drink offered on arrival. The room was excellent with good facilities, tastefully furnished, good quality fittings etc. Bathroom had lovely lotions etc. Excellent breakfast with one of the best bowls of fresh fruit we have ever had! Could not fault it. Will definately stay there again when in the area.
Excellent accommodation, well looked after by Roy and Mel, would stay there again. 1st class breakfast.
The house was lovely. The room was very spacious, comfortable, clean and well furnished with a great en-suite. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of options and plenty of fresh produce. The owners were very hospitable giving it a personal touch and gave us a good welcome on arrival. The house is very well situated not only for peaceful country walks and pubs (with excellent food) but also not far from Lake Windermere for activities and shopping. My wife Isobel and I had just spent 10 days staying in hotels in Windermere, mainland Scotland and the Wetsern Isles and this night at Capernwray House finished the holiday on a high.
Room was excellent. Very spacious and very comfortable. A great place to stay either heading north or south, and also a great place to stay to visit the Lake District. Highly recommend. Food (Roast Dinner) was very nice at the restaurant.
Warm welcome at reception. Receptionist took time to explain all about the hotel. Excellent cavery served at the restaurant, brakfast was also substantial. Room was very clean and warm for early November. No bad points.
The hotel room was very clean and tidy. The staff were attentive, polite and very helpful. Excellent evening meal, plenty of it and did have the starters and desserts - but not on the same night! The only thing, a remote control with the tv would have been nice - a minor gripe.
Hotel had me arriving on 11th not 10th as booked. Toilet seat needs tightening as it was slack. The sealant around the bath needs replacing (Room 12) as black and missing in parts. The bed appeared to have a plasticised undersheet which made a noise every time I moved.
Food breakfast and dinner Central heating switched off for part of a cold spell.
it was quiet and peaceful nothing
We enjoyed the warmth of the staff and the quietness of the room considering the proximity of the main road. The bar was a friendly place to be and the bar lunch very good. The bar and restaurant closed rather early for us but this may have been because of the time of year (November).
Nothing seemed to be a bother, the staff were very helpful at all times especially when it came to arranging taxi's. I wasn't able to stay longer but my brother and I will be back. Les McCammont MBE RAF VRT
Good food, very good ale and friendly staff. Very good value for money. Room and bathroom slightly dated.
