We really enjoyed the room and the location. It was 2 adults and a 5 yr old. We were there to catch an Astros game and to visit NASA which was only a 30 minute drive away. Minute Maid was within walking distance. Concierge said we could use the complimentary shuttle but we walked to ballpark instead. Hotel was also next to the northbound and southbound light rail so we hopped on that to the museum district. We would definitely stay there again. We didn't use the valet for $36, we found street parking around the corner. Got locked out of room at noon even though we had a late check out scheduled. Was no big deal though. They had a bus boy sent up to give us new room keys and they apologized.
Extremely friendly staff. All the pictures showed a large tub in the bathroom. This was really important to us in booking our room, however, there was only a shower upon arrival. We felt duped.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The area at night seems a little unsafe.
Rooms were well appointed and thoughtful. Staff was attentive and professional. Beautiful hotel. Located near light rail and could be heard all day and night.
I liked the short walk to Minute Maid Park and to Vic & Anthony's restaurant. I like the ability to check-in early. I liked the pre-reg email asking for early check-in preferences. I did not like the cramped quarters at the entrance. Due to the train, the narrow lanes for auto & valet made for a cluster. There were no bell carts available and the bell men seemed too busy. I did not like the small size of the sleeping room. Very cramped quarters.
Room was very nice. Huge tub. Service was excellent all the way around. Towels were a little rough. $40 for 1 night of parking is steep. $30 for two mojitos is also steep.
The room was clean and staff were very nice. The walls were paper thin and the door to the room was not closed tight enough to not shake and bang anytime another door was opened or closed on our floor. It kept my girlfriend and I up all night long, I finally called the front desk around 3 am and was told all they could do was extend my checkout by an hour... The free breakfast in the morning was alright but I was too tired to actually enjoy any of it. Room 501 was the loudest room I've ever slept in.
This was a wonderful hotel- beautifully restored and renovated. My room was spacious and comfortable. I had read a previous review from a guest who had been disappointed by the size of the bathroom, but I did not experience this problem at all. Every aspect of my room met or exceeded my expectations and the value was exceptional. I can't think of any part of my stay that disappointed me. Honestly.
The staff greeted us warmly and even provided champagne upon our arrival. When we made it to the room it was beautiful with a great view of downtown and all the amenities we could have wanted. Even the water fixtures were stunning. It was a truly fantastic stay and I couldn't recommend it higher.
The hotel was remodel the front and the noise was horrible. Room so small. Queen bed not King.

The exercise facility is so small that it is almost pointless. The showers need updating, as do other amenities like the television.
It is within walking distance of the Houston Grand Opera and metro to the museum & theater district - a lovely boutique hotel! TV and phone system a bit antiquated but work. There is so much to do within walking distance of the hotel that this was not really important to us.
Very quiet and cozy, with only about 8 rooms per floor. Rooms are small, but nicely appointed and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great. Everything was obviously prepared fresh. Staff are courteous and friendly. The front entrance was under construction. Not much of a view from our room, just the parking lot.
Wonderful hotel, great rooms, lovely staff and a perfect location. That I had to leave so soon.
The staff was extremely polite and courteous. The place has so much character. The gentleman out front got us a taxi within about 30 seconds of asking how to get one! The tv and stereo could use an upgrading (cassettes?). But who stays there to watch tv?
It was clean and very comfortable
The room was large and beautifully appointed. All amenities were available. The beds were very comfortable and temperature control was easy. Bathrooms are small and plumbing is worn but nice looking and fits the room. The biggest problem I had was two mornings( plus a third I didn't tell staff about) when I couldn't get hot water to the shower. In one case it was a boiler problem and the other two I don't know but possibly regulator plumbing at the shower itself. The staff are exceptional and offered a room upgrade but only on the last evening of my staff so I stayed where I was. I would try this place again because of the kindness and the responsiveness of staff and if going to the theatre.
Beautiful hotel in a wonderful area of downtown. We were able to walk everywhere. We did love the roof top pool as well. Amazing view of downtown from above. The main drawback for us is that there was a wedding the night we stayed so the bar/pool table area was not available. There was no other good place to hang out at the hotel which was inconvenient for us.
Fantastic location - great restaurants, bars and the Wortham theater are all within walking distance. Bed was old, uncomfortable and not worth what we paid for.
I loved the atmosphere, decorations, the view from the pool was amazing, the room was clean and comfortable. The valet were super friendly and helpful. The staff inside seemed a bit on edge from the double weddings in the restaurant, clerk told us we could order at the bar tender stand downstairs and the bartender seemed offended and said she's a liar, it's room service only that night. I was not fond of the prices for waffles and french toast on the menu, seemed an awful high price for such a simple food. The view from my room was construction and graffiti ' ed windows on the building next to us.
location close to Minute Maid park. Rooms were nice size, free breakfast buffet was spectacular. Maria and the staff in the kitchen during the breakfast and in assisting in attempting to rectify a mistake made by other staff (see 'What didn't you like'). I called ahead to find out whether I needed to bring our coffee brewer for our own, in room, coffee, and was told they had actual brewers (not those pod-type things). They didn't, and couldn't locate any, and didn't have any answers for how to get what we wanted and what they said they had. They did brew our coffee in their kitchen for us, which was apparently the best they could do. We almost didn't get the early check in they had also promised over the phone; luckily I had the name of the person who granted it, who happened to be the one at the front desk and who initially told us they couldn't check us in early.
Daughter and husband loved the Milk and Cookies Happy Hour every night! Breakfast was very good too! The pool was perfect for my 4 year old because it is only 3 feet deep and not very big at all. A little disappointing.

I loved my view for the room! I requested a room with a nice view and I was accomadated with a room on the 21st floor! It was also my birthday weekend and they had chocolates and a card waiting for me. Everything was perfection!
Room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was great! I thought the shuttle service was convenient and made our stay more comfortable. Lots of homeless people around the street of hotel, as long as you take the shuttle it doens't really matter.
The design of the hotel and the rooms was fabulous. Couldn't have picked a better location. Walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants. We went to the cafe across the street in the morning and everyone was wearing Astros jerseys getting ready to walk to the game.
Location, view No minibar,, no vending machines ,no smoking- but no balconies !!!! I expected a high class, luxury hotel..... I found myself regretting the choice immediately upon arrival in the room... No minibar, (then why did they take a 400 dollar deposit from my card without mentioning it, in addition to my paying the 600 up front for the two days I was staying there.??????!!?..... Which will take a week to be put back on my card...... No soda or vending machines, closest 24 hr place to get snacks is 3 miles away.... They charged me over 60 dollars in overnight parking fees without ever asking me whet make or model or license plate number... I didn't even have a car with me on this trip- staff were condescending and rude about my attempting to address these and other issues..... Don't stay here Houston is big no shortage of alternatives that are not a waste if minry
The pick-up from the downtown bus station to the hotel was sweet. The staff were nice and the room was gorgeous.

Unique hotel. Friendly staff. Love the bar in the lobby. Comfy beds. Great shower. Perfect location. I wish parking was a bit less expensive, or there was a self park option.
Bathroom is huge and comfortable. No icemachine. Had to request ice and tip for each delibvery.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lounge is very nice. Breakfast at the restaurant was good but quite pricey. Hotel was extremely clean and had very little mold/mildew, which plagues even 4 & 5 star hotels in Houston. The pillows were not great and the restaurant was too expensive for extended business stays (French toast + coffee + OJ + tip = $25).

Johnny at the front desk was spectacular, and was very professional. Gave me recommendations on night life and restaurants. The room was very nice, and the beds were comfortable. The valet was decent. It's about $34 a night after tax for one car, but it is downtown Houston. They are very quick about getting your car ready for you when you call for it. At night we called valet for a cab and went down 10 minutes later and they said it had not arrived yet. My group waited 10 more minutes inside the garage before the valet guy told us to stand on the street and try to get one. What is the point of calling ahead for a cab if they wanted us to go flag one down ourselves. There is no on site self parking, but there is a small private owned parking lot connected to the right of the hotel which is $10/ a day where my friend left his car. Check your bill before you leave!! I was charged an extra $20 dollars for "long distance calls." I didn't realize it was considered long distance to call valet down stairs... They were happy to take it off, but I'm glad I checked it.
The hotel seems like it was very nice a few years ago but doesn't feel like it has been kept up to date and doesn't feel clean at all. Our room smelled so much like mildew! The room came with 1 bottle of complimentary water. Every bottle after that you had to purchase, principally speaking I think this is crazy for a hotel room that costs $200 per night! Overall not impressed by this hotel.

We liked everything about this hotel. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, helpful and competent. The hotel is large, beautiful, and convenient to the downtown theater district. Rooms are large, comfortable, and well appointed. The bar area is lively and the staff are friendly and take care of their customers. The restaurant is comfortable and the food is excellent and well prepared. The staff of the restaurant are professional and treat you like a personal guest. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The only thing I would have liked in the rooms is a refrigerator and a safe. Otherwise, the rooms were very well appointed.

Very friendly staff throughout, impressive lobby and the room was very nice as well. Always forgot about those great cookie as well! The only issue were the thin walls, it was quite easy to hear the people next door to us. They have a strict "party policy" so I think they are aware of the issue. We hated to be "those people" but when our neighbors started playing loud music at 5am we called the front desk. Security sorted out the issue right away. Thanks!
