Pros: Away from it all holiday in fab location. Hotel and staff exceeded our expectations
Cons: If weather was really bad maybe would struggle to find things to do locally if not properly equipped.
Pros: Good breakfast for spanish standards, cozy rooms and great lounge area, Great scenery and hiking possibilities.
Pros: Lovely setting with views over the mountains. Large room and bathroom. Good breakfast and nice dinner on the terrace. We were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant offered a wide choice of food for...
Pros: The room and view were pleasant and everything worked, although the TV was very old fashioned and small. The lounge was comfortable but rather impersonal. We ate dinner and breakfast, which were good...
Cons: The 2 staff were efficient, but we got no sense of who runs this establishment. Therefore for a small hotel it lacked the character that an owner present would confer and be available to greet guests...
Pros: The owners were away but the two female members of staff could not be faulted. Yes the language barrier made it difficult at times but neither of the ladies let it cause a problem, both being ...
Cons: The wifi was the weakest point of the whole place, being intermittent and weak at times, however bearing in mind this Hotels location and a reasonable 3G signal, we could live with it.

Pros: A new, exceptional hotel in a peaceful location. Unlike other hotels in the area, it is removed from any town/village, and very much feels like you are embedded within the Mountain Scenery. Cows...
Cons: The one criticism is that though very good, the drinks and food are a little bit expensive. Definitely eat and drink at the restaurant, but also try the cheaper Pozo de las Paredes that is within ...
Pros: Fantastic place to take some days off. We had our own chimney and Evelio took even care of having it running when we came back from our mountain tours - really nice!!
Pros: The hotel is in a beautiful, peaceful location and has lovely rooms. The breakfasts were very generous and tasty. Also very friendly service. We had a wonderful relaxing stay!

Rooms at this luxurious hotel offer upscale touches like fireplaces and soaking tubs, along with kitchens and balconies.
Cons: The hotel said we didn't turn up and then took £1100 out of my account over several days not had an explanation or money refunded or an apology yet over a month later wouldn't recommend ...
Pros: Nice new renovations. Right in the center of this pretty little town. Very easy check in and check out. Good wifi.
Cons: Bathtub needs to be replaced - it had some old nozzles that used to be part of a massage bathtub that were falling off and rusting.
When visiting Piedrahita, Posada Doña Cayetanap is a great choice to consider. Guests looking for a bite to eat can check out the restaurant, and the bar/lounge is the perfect spot to grab a drink at the end of the day.

Pros: The place is nice and well located. The rooms are spacious and quite nice. We liked the SPA as well.
Cons: The food for lunch and dinner was simply horrible. Also acoustics. From the room you could hear the noise of doors opening and closing.

Pros: The hotel location, restaurant, service, rooms
Cons: Matress was not the best
Pros: Great place to get away from it all.5
Cons: A bit of a walk to get down there if you're coming from the bus station. No taxi service from there. But the hotel did arrange for a local taxi driver to take us to and from period the hotel was a...
Pros: The hotel stands in its own grounds and is well away from the nearest town which has absolutely nothing to commend it. The reformation of this historic building is very interesting and makes for an enjoyable experience, and is a nice change from the typical new hotels that seem to be everywhere.
Cons: The breakfast was acceptable, but certainly not up to the standard that one would expect at a four star hotel.
Pros: The location was excellent, in the countryside near the North slopes of Sierra de Gredos. The room (double level) was luxurius..
Cons: The double level room is not appropriate for a family with a very young child (3 years), especially when it was no possible to place the 3 beds on the same floor. Use of swimming pool was extra charged !!. Breakfast was also charged 15 euros/person extra. Staff do not speak English at all so communication was difficult even for simple requests.
Pros: The location is very peaceful; the rooms very comfortable.
Cons: Our lack of Spanish and their lack of English made ordering dinner, and an early breakfast, a bit of an exercise!
Pros: We selected the hotel Izan Puerta de Gredos for its location close to "Sierra de Gredos". The atmosphere and the location of the hotel were excellent, relaxing surroundings and the access to the mountains, nature and picturesque villages was easy. The room was comfortable and the breakfast had a good selection of products.
Cons: The spa.
Pros: I stayed one night booking.com and a further 6 nights in conference.I think the hotel is poor. I cannot imagine anyone staying there in the winter. It is a gracious building and in a pleasant area. Possibly good for walkers.
Cons: The majority of the rooms are not 4 star quality - no views (obstructed by fire escapes) - at least one with only a skylight. Mine was ground floor with a path outside and no curtains. Cleanliness is dubious -ants among the breakfast bread, and on the floor of the dining room. Dead flies in my bedroom not removed for three days. No outdoor pool or any kind of exterior seating seating. To say that it has gardens simply isn't true. There are areas of roughly cut field. Indoor pool/spa/gym poor and expensive. Should be free. Local village is typical, but it is too far to walk comfortably and offers little entertainment. Not much in the way of local information and no newspapers of any kind.

Cons: There was nothing I did not like
Pros: Every room has a different name and design.. The hotel is small but very comfortable, clean and has a rustic air..
Pros: Very nice place! Great breakfast and dining!
Pros: Desserts were awsome. It also has a fireplace, and a small astronomic observatory.
Pros: Clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, cosy garden, wonderful area for hiking. Although standard breakfast is a 'gourmet' thing, the staff was happy to arrange a lean (and quick) ...
Cons: Staff would benefit from getting more comfortable in English; some staff speak no English, others do, but none of the people is fluent or capable of a relaxed conversation. It's not a problem, but...
Pros: The views, the garden and the spa next door

Pros: Very friendly staff although not everybody speaks English. Rooms were clean and staff attentive. Also the breakfast is included and quite OK. Location is excellent if you want to explore the nearby ...
Cons: Rooms are very basic. It turned out the air outlets for the whirlpool were dirty making it impossible to have a relaxing whirlpool after a hard day in the mountains.
Pros: Location, views, and access to nature are marvelous. It's a short walk or very quick drive to the main part of Hoyos de Espino for any services you need beyond those available at the café. The ...
Cons: The rooms lean toward the rustic, simpler side. Little details, like nowhere to hang toilet paper rolls in a bathroom, make it feel more like a hostel than a home. The bright overhead fluorescent ...
Pros: Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble, superb breakfast, evening menu had good variation.
Cons: Low roof beams, ouch! Unpleasant plastic under sheet on the bed.
Pros: Nice accommodation, good location for exploring this region.
Cons: Hand-held shower. Low ceiling in room. Some Spanish essential.
Pros: Great location and very quiet, rooms were lovely however our sat nav could not find the hotel at first.
Cons: no restaurant for dinner had to drive into town to find food
Pros: The Altogredos is well situated, clean and has friendly and efficient staff.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
