accomodation is very outdated. the hotel was near enough empty altough on the website it looked like the hotel was fully booked and we expected this.breakfest was very basic and no cooked breakfest available. not very 4 star. no tea/coffee facilities in room. hotel is used mainly for offshore workers and they only stay for a night.
I went to the Beatrix Hotel for a Shell/Peterson meeting - the Staff were, as always, very polite and helpful, the evening meal and service was well received by everyone, I enjoyed a relaxing swim and steam in the spa - overall very enjoyable.
Staff all very helpful. Rooms well appointed. Spa facilities good. The spa experience we spoilt because an elderly man was using the facilities without swim trunks, using the chairs and sauna. I was surprised that this was allowed. The bar staff were very stretched. We had to wait quite a time to be served.
We had stayed there before and love its situation
The rooms were large and comfortable, breakfast was good, parking wwas for free and there was also nice swimming pool and saunas downstairs It is some km from Den Helder, so there is nothing to do in the evenings
Our stay was very short, however, the staff were excellent and the room was comfortable. The location is perfect for walking/running along the dyke or through the sand dunes.
The proximity to the sea was certainly the best part of our hotel experience The heat was kept way too high. We had to open the window to control the temperature and still it wasn't cool enough in the room. We also had a meal in the restaurant which wasn't bad but we were disappointed by the attitude of our wait staff.
The C'est La Vie restaraunt
the view on the lighthouse right out of our room and the great sauna/steambath and bubblebath no fitness
Staff were quite rude. Room hadn't been cleaned properly and room was very noisy.
We loved the location in the small village of Den Hoorn. It was quiet and a perfect place for exploring the island of Texel. Dinner at the restaurant was good on the Saturday night but unfortunately the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday nights because there was little business.
The tavern was very nice, the decoration interesting. Furthermore, the location of the hotel was perfect in a nice, small village the jacuzzi did not work as mentionned in the information of the website and we had some problems to be able to use the sauna. On the second evening, we came back to the hotel at 22:30 and the front door was closed and all the lights off. We had not been informed how to get into the hotel under such circumstances and it took us a while to find that the staff had left a back door opened.
Location of the hotel is excellent....hotel is located in a small village....very quiet and relaxing. The beds are poor. 2 single beds are joined as double bed but the beds are not comfortable at all.
Plain, bathroom very narrow and tight. Our booking was lost for the first night. I am making a complaint.
I loved my stay here! The staff, especially Karin, was such a pleasure to spend time with. The rooms are large and very comfortable and kept so clean during your stay. The restaurant and bar has a cozy atmosphere and it is a relaxing experience just being in there. Breakfast was always looked forward to and was a great way to start the day. It is super close to one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been on, and I live in San Diego! You can rent a bike for 6 Euros a day and bike the entire island. It is a wonderful place to spend with your partner. A place to be still and peaceful. I recommend it to all interested in visiting Texel. No complaints at all!
location and pricd the staff did not communicate to us well, especially about when the restaurant was open and the breakfast could have been better
The evening dinner with the Groen family. Breakfast not of a high standard tea water cold-for example There was NO heating in the room and we were very cold-technician called out could not resolve the problem -Should you have rooms in use while major building works going on outside? You have the hardest beds I have ever had the misfortune of sleeping in. we slept with socks and jumpers on! Staff did their best it was unfortunate they were very helpful.
the bowling alley was good fun
The rooms were very cold. Even with the radiator on all day, the room never seemed to warm up. The shower was poor, so, after a cold nights sleep, I couldn't even warm up in the shower.
Restaurant food was excellent. Rooms were cold and dated.
The friendliness of staff and the tasty meals ordered at the restaurant. I did not like the fact that although the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking it was obvious from an intense smell in the bedrooms that the previous guests were smoking.
Great hotel. Very nice and helpful staff. Quite special, with full bowling alley on the premises. A treat!
I like the appartment there was a lot of space, the breakfast was excellent so was the service. You can stay in one hotelroom with five persons. The hotel was nousy.
Dog friendly and close to nature reserve. Nice, quit surroundings. Friendly staff. Good restaurant. Late breakfast buffet (starting at 9:00 AM)
Farm/Forest location, and restaurant. Dinner and breakfast were quite good. Noise from other guests.
View, hotel service
the location is fantastic. ask the rooms facing the see. the ferryboat to texel is just opposite the hotel.
Nice spacious rooms with a fantastic view. No luxuries (e.g. hair dryer) but all basics are provided and the rooms were clean. Good restaurant with good service and again a fantastic view. Perfect as a basis from which to explore Texel. The hotel reception area could do with a makeover.
Nice rooms, clean, great restaurant next to the hotel no hairdryer available
Exciting beach location, on the sea, room with uninterrupted sea view. Staff tried to be helpful about visiting nearby islands. Although staff tried to be helpful about visiting nearby islands they were not knowledgeable - need to be better equipped and briefed. Visiting nearby islands is a main reason why guests come.
The Baron Crown was wondeful! We had a big, lovely decorated room with a own Nespressomachine, huge flatscrene TV, WiFi, big comfortable bed and a wonderful bathroom! All perfectly clean! Great breakfast with fresh fruitsalad, fresh orangejuice and a big sortiment of all kinds of delicious things! All in all a delight and we'll come again! p.s: 10 min. walk to the beach, 10 min. drive to the boat to Texel! Hotel-owned bikes would be nice!
A very friendly hotel. Excelent location in town centre, ideal for the shops, restaurants and transportation.
Excellent internet connection The breakfast was not up to the standard expected of a hotel in this price bracket
It was a very nice, comfortable room, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The two staff members we interacted with were very nice. The light in the bathroom didn't work, and the door to get outside on our balcony was jammed shut.
I found the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was good quality and cooked to my liking The only down side to my stay was the smell from whatever was used to mop out the lift
Convenience for the Train Station and City Centre Location
Friendly staff. Excellent food. Good location. Not imptessed to find the next room being overhauled whilst I was in my room. Floors should be kept clear of guests whilst workmen are using equipment on that floor for health and safety reasons.
The Distance to the train station and bus station is very good. The price is too high.
The hotel is located close to the centre and the train station. The decoration of the hotel is somewhat tacky with Indonesian decorations in the reception/bar and the room is (accidentally) stuck in the 80's. The reception on the TV was furthermore not good. The breakfast buffet only offers the basics and it is inconvenient to access the items in the cooling cabinet.
They had a nice and friendly staff. They took care of any concerns we had with no delays. The beds mattresses were hard and rough. The pillows were too flat.
very friendly atmosphere some waitresses tended to ignore guests at the table
